Hi, I'm Luciane and I have the same issue.
I bought a E105-S1402 notebook and I cannot connect it on projectors, because the only output channel is a hdmi port and normally the projectors works with vga.
I already bought the adaptor indicated by Jerry, but it doesn't work. It looks like that the system is not able to identify the output.
It's been a problem because my job requires that I show things all time, and I've been carrying another notebook with me because of this issue. Look: It doesn't matter what projector are you trying to connect with, the problem is related the output.
Anyone know if there is any kind of software to control the hdmi x vga connections? Is there any kind of special configuration on operarion system?
Please, help us...
Tks,
Luciane

  • My hp dm3-3027cl card reader can not recognize the class 10 sdhc card

My hp dm3-3027cl card reader can not recognize the class 10 sdhc card. I downloaded and installed the card reader driver from HP web site for this dm3-3027cl, but still have same problem. There isn't a problem on class 6 SDHC card. It seems some other computers have the same problem on reading the class 10 SDHC card. My toshiba e105 laptop has no probblem to read class 10 SDHC card.

Hello snowman90024 and welcome to community,
Kindly install the USB and card reader driver then install cardreader driver and USB driver
Please let us know about the status after this.
    Best Regards,
    Tanuj

  • Can't encrypt files with fingerprint reader

I just bought a Toshiba E105-s1602 and I cant figure out how to encrypt files and folders with the fingerprint reader.
I use it to log onto the computer and in the instructions it says just to right click on the file and there should be something that says encrypt or something similar, but I have no options having to do with encryption.
Does anybody know how to use this, am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks

As far as I know this option depends on preinstalled software. I am not 100% sure but Toshiba offers two different applications for this purposes.
If such option is not available then this option is not offered by preinstalled application.

  • How can i get rid of THIS TERRIBLE NOISE?!

My CPU is whining like crazy according to everything ive seen, but RMclock does not support this chipset.
I am using the Toshiba E105-s1402.
How can i disable the C4 sleep state?  this noise is so loud and driving me nuts!

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
You may have to log out or reboot in order to complete an uninstallation.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.

  • Help choosing laptop

    Which laptop should I get
    Toshiba E105-S1802
    or
    HP DV6-1375dx
Is there any others that I should be looking at with similar specs around that price? Thanks for any help.

I personally like toshibas better than Hp but it looks like you get more bang for your buck with the Hp out of these two.  The Hp has a slightly bigger screen with more memory and faster read/write times on your hard drive, meaning this computer will be quite a bit faster than the toshiba.  On the other hand the toshiba is lighter with a bigger battery and a better warranty (1 year verses 2).  It just comes down to what do you like better, the extra power speed or longer battery smaller size and longer warranty. Hope I helped

  • Toshiba Satellite E105 (Blue label series)

I have the Best buy blue label Toshiba Satellite E105.  The computer has a backlight and that you turn on holding the function key button down and pushing z key.
I recently noticed that the function key and the space bar don't light up. I haven't ever really noticed this and was wondering if this was normal with this specific model.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Yes, that's true.  If you want to try reinstalling the Display driver, your support website is HERE.  Determine which Display driver you need by looking in Device Manager and then download and install either the Intel or AMD driver and see if that helps.

  • Hard disk failure E105-S1802 Satellite

My Satellite E105-S1802 is reporting a hard disk failure. This is basically a new laptop that I only use for typing documents and searching internet. Why is it already having hard disk problems? I'm currently in school and need this laptop everday.

hdd will fail early or late in their lives. back up all of your info onto an external hdd or cd/dvd immediatly. if your hdd fails and you didnt back it up you will lose everything forever. toshiba will cover the cost under warranty if you are still in the first year. toshiba will replace it and will not save your old one or the data on it so it is your resposibility to back it up before you send it.

  • What are the *smw files? Will they reinstall the original applications of my Toshiba laptop?

I did a clean installation of Windows 7 (64 bits) in my E105-S1402. I installed the Toshiba Software Installer for Windows 7 and I got the drives and updates from it.
I also download all the drives, updates and patches from Toshiba for Windows 7 (64 bits) at http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=214052...
I was trying to reinstall the software that was preinstalled in the laptop or in the recovery discs (for example the software for watching DVD movies, etc...) so I thought that Toshiba Software Installer would reinstall those applications but it did not do it Then I inserted the second DVD of the recovery discs in the laptop's DVD drive and I saw: preinst6.smw, preinst7.smw..... preinst11.smw I guess that they are the applications that were installed in my computer before  but I am not sure.
If I click in any of these files then will I be able to reinstall the preinstalled applications?
Does anybody what these *.smw files are?
Thanks in advance for any answer or advice.
    Truly your,
    Javier

Have you tried putting the first disc in while in Windows? It may bring up an option menu to install applications and drivers and a recovery option.

  • Recovering E105-S1402

As to my understanding as of 2007 no laptop was required to have recovery disc to repair and or factory reset laptops. I bought a Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402 in July 2009. It did not come with a Recovery disc at all. I am having a lot of issues with my laptop and Id rather just factory reset it and start from new. I called toshiba and we tried different methods to factory resetting my laptop and they came to the conclusion that I need a disc to do this. How am I suppose to do this if my laptop did not come with a disc and then was told that I need to buy a disc which I dont find it fair that i wasnt provided with one but now they are making me purchase it. and also shouldnt there be a way to create a recovery disc through the laptop its self if it needs a disc.
Anyways, I need to restart my laptop as soon as possible and looking for a way to do it. is there a way I can download an iso from toshiba.com and burning it or anything like that.
I feel that I haven't been treated fairly as I am avid about keeping up with every piece of paper and plastic especially cds that come with my laptop so i know that i was not provided with one. Being told that I have to pay 20-25 dollars for a new recovery disc that wasnt provided to me in the first place is a rip off. I know that this laptop didn't come with a disc because this is the second laptop that I bought. When i first bought this laptop I started putting my programs on it and then started having issues right away so i factory reset it with no issues and no disc. the problems still persisted so i took it back to best buy and exchanged it for a new one which is the one im using now. now Im having issues again and when i try to factory reset it asks for a cd.
So what should be my next step?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I've never understood why people will wait until they need the recovery disks before they take the time to make sure that they have them.  It makes absolutely no sense.
You can NOT download the ISO images to create the disks.  The only way to get them is by ordering them from Toshiba.
While MOST systems do not come with actual disks and rely on a Hard Drive Based recovery system to restore the system to it's factory out of box state and also to make an set of recovery disks, some do not.  It's the purchasers responsibilty to verify that they have one or the other by reading the included documentation and checking the contents of the box the system came in.  If there is anything missing the time to contact the manufacturer is right then, not 8 months or more later.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Satellite E105-S1402 Running Hotter After ACPI Flash BIOS version 1.40

    Hello,
First time poster. I bought a E105-S1402 yesterday from Best Buy. The computer was running at a comfortable tempture up until I updated the bios per the download and drivers page, http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=214052....  Now, the laptop runs much hotter. Does anyone else have the same issue? Is this something the bios update was supposed to do? Any advice/suggestions. Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You might try to update your bios to v 1.5. It is the very latest bios update (late April 2009) for the E105-S1402.
My E105 does run a little hotter than my previous HP laptop, however, I have gotten used to it. I'm guessing the fact that the body is made of aluminum, rather than plastic, is the reason why it feels hotter. However, what we get with warmth as a negative, we gain in build quality and ruggedness as a positive.
As long as your laptop has not shutdown on its own, which would be an indication that the computer tried to save itself from damage due to excessive heat, then you are probably fine, albeit uncomfortable.

  • Satellite E105: Slow Start Up

Whenever my satellite E105 is completely shut down it seems to take a very long time to start up and beginning running normally.  Is this normal or is there something I should be doing about this?
    Thanks

    Hi nicoletrist,
I dont know what notebook you have exactly but I think the slow Windows start is caused due the viruses that you have or had.
Few years ago I had also a virus and it was causing a very slow start up, it did take up to 10 minutes until Windows was loaded and the only solution to get rid of this was using Toshiba recovery disk.
I would recommend the same to you. Use the Toshiba recovery disk to restore factory settings and backup your data because everything on HDD will be deleted.
Im sure after using recovery disk your notebook will run like a charm again! :)

  • When Satellite E105 will be available in UK

    HEY
Does anyone know if the Satellite E105 (below) will be coming to the UK.
    http://explore.toshiba.com/laptops/satellite/E105
    Cheers

To be honest most US and European notebook models are very similar but the notebook model description is different. I can imagine such notebook will be offered here in Europe but at the moment there is no precise info about that.
Ive Googled too but .... nothing.
From time to time check Toshiba UK page. Thats all you can do to see if this model will be there next weeks or months.
