Toshiba for some reason thinks I have not bought a laptop
Hello my first post on this matter.
I bought a Toshiba Satellite P200 series laptop last week from PC WORLD and being a Toshiba member with my last Toshiba laptop decided to put the laptop details in my profile all was fine until I registered the laptop for its normal 12 months gtee....
Now Toshiba says they want to see my bill of sale???? well TOSHIBA I did buy my laptop from PC WORLD ...ask them .......I do have the bill of sale and why must I send it to you and why must I post it?
Why not email the bill of sale???? and if this is the service Toshiba uk are offering I might even take the laptop back to dealer......as something must be wrong as I have never encountered this sort of thing with my last 8 TOSHIBA LAPTOPS......so Toshiba if you can read this...... phone me as you have my details or email me as you also have my email address as I have been registered with Toshiba for years.......so please get this sorted.........and any member who can offer any advice on this matter ...GREAT.....

I can understand that you are angry but there must be some explanation why they need it. In my opinion any kind of hysteria here on this forum will not help at all.
Please note, this is user-to-user forum and nobody here can help you.
Maybe you have misunderstood something. Make a call to the hotline and explain the situation. Be cool and talk with them as normal person. I am pretty sure they will explain you why they need it or they can check all data in the database.
Sorry but I do not see reason for such frustration. Everything can be clarified. Do you agree with me?

Hi, I have the iPhone 4, 32GB, version 4.3.5 (8L1) and for some reason when I connect it to the laptop, it starts synchronising but never goes beyond step 1. It goes on syncing forever, without actually doing anything. I have tried everything, wiped the phone numerous times, deleted all files from the laptop but still no resolution. As a result, the phone does not really synchronise.
This started somewhere in May 2011 when I upgraded what proved to be a problematic s/w version and the phone has not recovered since.
Now I cannot update the iPhone s/w any longer.
Any clue?You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

I have photos on a USB memory stick which I want to put onto my iPad. I bought the USB adaptor but for some reason the iPad is not recognising the memory stick. Can anyone help? Thank you
You need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them. But a lot of USB memory sticks need more power than is supplied to the kit, so you may need a powered hub between it and kit.

So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date,and it also kept the notes from after the backup. The "reset all settings" option clearly says no loss of data or media, so I don't understand why some stuff got deleted. My question is, is there a way to get it back?
If you still can find a recent backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, use this one to restore from.
If there are no recent backups listed, your data is gone. Only if you included the iTunes backup folder into your computer backup routine, you could be able to restore this folder and find one of your latest backups listed again.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iTunes. I recommend following the steps below:
Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
I understand that you have already uninstalled iTunes, but when you get to this step, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step. You can find the full article here:

I recently had my computer cleared out and for some reason I am getting an error when I try to open my iTunes. It says that I need to install Quicktime 7.5.5 or later which I have installed and I keep getting this error mesage. Any suggestions?
Also I am opporating MacOS 10.5 Do I have to buy the software from the store or can be be downloaded off the apple site? I have heard that you need the actual software from a retailer?

I have a lot of songs in my Itunes library. However, for some reason, they have disappeared and I only have one song left. When I check under My Music, I can see all the songs but can't access them through Itunes. Any idea why this happended and how I can fix it?
I think I fixed this problem a few years ago by literally copying and pasting all my audio content into the iTunes library folder. I can't remember what is called of the top of my head and I don't know if this will still work.

I have been using my iPad for months. Now for some reason the body of emails is not showing when the email is received. If I hit reply, the body shows. Is there a setting I need to change?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or quit the app completely. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button. Launch mail again. -

My entire song list duplicated for some reason. Do I have to delete songs individually (take forever), or is there a way to do it all at once?
I had the same problem. Had at least 3 of each song in my library... Here's how I fixed it.
Go on iTunes to your library
Hit Shift and click on View
Scroll down to "show exact duplicate items"
the list will give you all your duplicated songs
Click at the top of the "date added" Column to sort by date added.
Even if it all happened the same day it will group your whole library by date and time added.
The time is the key...
You can start at the begining of you list and scroll to the last song that was added that day and time frame.
Everything after your last song is duplicates.
Highlight the first song hold down shift and scroll down to the last song...
Once they are all highlighted you can hit delete and send them all to the recycle bin.
It took me a while to figure it out but it works -
My wife is working in London for 5 weeks & staying in digs, so we thought it would be a good idea to buy an ipad2 so we could skype each other, she could watch movies from the icloud, access skygo etc,and it wouldn't be as bulky as a laptop. All fine if you can get wifi, but for some reason her ipad cannot locate any btfon or btopenzone hotspots (or provider), IN LONDON??!! We can access them at home in a little village in Northern Ireland. Her digs have an ethernet socket, is it possible to connect her ipad to this socket via an adapter?
No. She will need to come up with an alternative way to connect. A mobile hotspot perhaps.
Finding some way to connect to these hotspots would be the ideal situation. I know that you realize that. We know nothing about what is happening, but if you can explain in some detail, maybe somebody here can help. -

Any ideas anyoneI found the culprit in my case: after update to itunes 12 iPhone is X GB over the limit.
Check your sync settings for each type of content in the left sidebar. In my case I had sync turned off for everything but ringtones. After iTunes update for some reason the entire music library is set to sync with the phone. Turning it off reconciled the storage issue. Perhaps in your case it is some other new content marked for syncing.
