Noticed that this will soon appear but needs a HDMI output.
Will a HDMI to component cable preserve the HD character is any one know?

unfortunately hdmi to dvi wont work unless the dvi on the tv has hdcp. Here is a good article to check out:

one part of the article that is out of date is as of now blu-ray has decided it will not down convert the analog signal, so users can get full 1920x1080 from component.

Component Out Malfunction on Qosmio G35

Hey everybody, I'm really glad I found this forum. I have a G35 AV600 running Xp and my component out (tv Out) has just stopped working on me. The button works, I can see some change in the screen of the external monitor. And the Svideo works with the TV Out button.
I have checked and changed formats NTSC 480,1080 etc.
I even used system restore to go to a restore point 3 days ago when it was working fine.
Nothing all I get is fine blue lines when set to 1080i and I can barely see the desktop icons shaded blue in 480i.
I've checked the line and everything else I can think of. Ive tried playing with the FN+F5 keys and still nothing. It was just working fine 3 days ago and I have not made any changes to the system.
Anyone know about this problem? Will calling Toshiba for guidance be a waste of time?
Any thoughts? does anyone know where I can get the part at a resonable price? Maybe that's it. Thsi is probably my favorite feature of the laptop as I jack into a 55 inch TV and watch downloaded movies often.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tested how it works with external display, not just with TV? it is really not easy to say what is wrong there and why this happen.
Try to test it with external monitor using VGA port. I just hope you will not have similar problem.
Qosmio G35 is not known to me but try to use all available Video-out ports to see if this issue occurs on one port only.
And of course you should contact Toshiba.
Please inform us about your further steps.

Problem with the MenuBar and how can i delete a own component out of the storage

I have a problem with the MenuBar and a question to delete a
component out of storage.
1. We have implemented the MenuBar, which was filled
dynamically with XML data.
Sporadically it will appear following fault, if we "mousover"
the root layer.

2. Delete a component out of storage
We have some own components (basically forms), which will be
created and shown by an construct e.g.

Some of our forms will be created in an popup. On every call
of the popup, we lost 5 mb or more, all childs on the windows will
be removed by formname.removeAllChild();
What cann we do, that the garbage collector will dispose this
objects.
Is there a way to show all objects with references (NOT
NULL)?
I have read in the Flex Help, that
this.removeChild(myComponent) not delete the form and/or object out
of the storage.
Rather the object must be destroyed.
It is sufficient to call delete(myComponent) about remove
this object out of the storage as the case may be that the
garbage-collector remove this object at any time?
Or how can I destroy a component correctly. What happens with
the widgets on this component e.g. input fields or datagrids?
Are they also being deleted?

If you mena the "photo Library" then you cannot delete it.
This is how iphone handles photos. There are not two copies. There a re simply two places from which to access the same photos. ALL photos synced to iphone can be accessed via Photo Library. Those same pics can be accessed via their individual folder.

Qosmio G10 - Component Out Cables

I'm trying to connect the G10 to a High Def DLP using 1080i, and wasnt aware until the unit arrived that the cabling for the D-video out is using a SCART connection as opposed to 3 RCA's as per the North American model and info.
Does anyone know how i can convert the SCART to RCA (by providing the SCART pin-outs?) or how I can get the US cabling Tosh Part "Component Video Adaptor Cable (for Component Out on D-Video Out Port) (GDM900000510)"?

To convert the SCART to RCA you can use SCART Adapter (In/Out) to 3 RCA (Phono) Audio Video & S-Video. Google a little bit and I am sure that you can find the best solution.
Otherwise you can get best information in some electronic store. There you can get suitable technical advice.

Lost component out

Hello,
My ATV used to be connected to my SD TV throught component output and it was working. For some reasons, I didn't use the ATV for 2 or 3 month and since I put it back, I don't have anything (black screen) on the component out. The TV input is working, I've tested it with another source.
I've then connected the ATV to my DVI monitor (with HDMI adaptor) and in the video setting menu I don't either have the 576i or 480i options, only 720p or 480p.
Does anyone have any idea?

And I've also run the diagnostics software from the recovery screen (all was normal).
I assume this wasn't when connected by component. You are removing any HDMI connection from the tv before trying component. Don't worry about the limited options via HDMI, it will only show you the type of connection supported by your TV/monitor.

Iphone component out

I was wondering if on the component out cables that are compatible with the iphone, able to make a composite output as well.

Component Out to my macbook pro?

I have a canon Vixia HFR20 with component out, how do I connect it to my macbook pro as a webcam?

When cameras first adopted packetized video via FireWire, that was the end of component Video inputs on the Mac. It has now expanded to certain cameras via USB, but there is no going back to the bad old days of component Video.
If you have a substantial Library of videos only in those formats, it may be worthwhile to have them batch-converted to a more modern format, rather than investing in pricey conversion gear.

Getting component out of the ContainerEvent with a TextPane

Here's what i want to do, I have a JTextPane in which i am adding Components ... i added a ContainerListener to the JTextPane. Im am adding dynamically a class that extends JPanel which is representing something that is not important to the problem. When the user delete one of those JPanel, i need to which one.
if the method componentAdded(ContainerEvent e) the ContainerEvent have the getChild() which in my case is returning
javax.swing.text.ComponentView$Invalidator[,0,0,0x0,invalid,layout=javax.swing.OverlayLayout]
So i understood that when im addind a component in a textPane with the method insertComponent() he is creating a ComponentView. Now my problem is : how am i gonna get the reference of the deleted component out of the ComponentView ...
ps. the getChild() method is supposed to return a Component ... but ComponentView is not a subclass of Component, if someone one can help me with my problem or explain me how this insertComponent stuff is working it would be really appreciated

with the JTextPane class. It looks like you're not
being returned a ComponentView object -- which you
rightly point out wouldn't be a Component -- but a
ComponentView.Invalidator object which would be
defined as a private inner class of theComponentView
class.

Output video to s-video or component out?

Hi all,
I got a new Mac Pro two months ago and really like it. This is my first Mac. I'm running in dual monitor mode via DVI with two 24" Dell 2405FPW monitors of the ATI X1900 video card. The really nice features of this monitor is that it has a built-in card reader, 4 USB ports, and analog inputs like composite, s-video, and component. Oh yeah, I'm running Leopard 10.5.1.
Because I am visually impaired, I have to use the Universal Access Zoom feature a lot. This is great for when I am creating web pages, surfing the Net and other stuff EXCEPT for watching videos be it Quicktime movie, DVD, or even enhanced podcasts. That is because when I am zoom in, both monitors zoom like one big desktop so the zooming occurs across both monitors. I wish there was a way to enable zoom on only one monitor and leave the second monitor full screen so I can watch videos. Right now, when I am zoomed in, the video is completely off screen.
Eventually, I will probably want to go with 3 screens and use one specifically for video. But for now, I would like utilize the s-video of the monitor on the right to display the video that is running on the Mac Pro. What is the best way to do this?
Can I use a nVidia 7300 for this purpose? Will the 7300 show HD video if I eventually get a Blueray DVD drive?
Or it may be better see what new ATI video card will come out? Then buy that card and move the ATI X1900 to the second slot.
If I was to use a DVI to component or s-video converter, can I even configure iTunes, the DVD Player, and Quicktime to show the video full screen on the third output?
Any info will be appreciated.

Remember the AppleTV was only meant to work on HD televisions, not crappy SD or even ED TVs that use composite or s-video. It is worth mentioning that there is a way to get one of the component terminals to output composite video. It's really tricky though; probably more work than most casual users are willing to do. I don't think i can actually post a link, but if you google it it will show up. As for a component->s video connecter? I don't think they exist.

Toshiba 5200-903: TV-out

First I will tell you some basic details of my System:
Hardware: Toshiba S5200-903
OS: Debian Linux Kernel 2.6.15-1-686
I want to use the TV-out of my System. I need this mainly to connect to my audio-device. The normal audio-out (where normaly for example the head-set is beeing connected) is demaged; it only runs the right or left channel (I don't know which it is).
So how can I konfigure this TV-out in Debian Linux?

The TV-out Composite 3.5mm video-Jack with stereo audio is available on this unit.
If you want to use it you have to use a cable with 1x composite and 2x cinch audio (left/right) connectors.
Im not sure about the software side. Like you know the Toshiba doesnt support the Linux but a usually sound driver should also works.

actually, i use my computer pluged on my TV, using SVideo, and the quality is poor. If i use Component, can i have more quality in resolution? my TV have progressive Scan input, and if i plug my DVD, the quality is good.
at this moment i can't see my desktop fonts, it seems like focus out. same problem in text editor. in videos and games, everything is ok.
if i change de input, it will be better?

If you have an HDTV Yes... but if it is a normal tv with a component video-in the image quality will be similar (a little better) than the s-video

Video out settings HDMI and Component out run at the same time?

Does anyone know if I can get video out of both the HDMI port and component video connections at the same time. Trying to distribute video throught the house on component, and still get HD on the flat panel in the living room. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apple says when both HDMI and component are connected, HDMI will take precedence over component. Short answer: no.

Toshiba 32 XV505 optical out and sound bar

Hi guys, wonder if you can help.
I have a toshiba XV505 TV and I've just bought a Cambridge Audio TV minx sound bar, it works fine with a headphone cable from the TV but for best quality sound I wanted to use an optical out cable. But when plugging in the optical cable I get nothing, I've tried the optical cable with the DVD player and it works fine so the cable is good. Is this some type of restriction with the TV that it can't output the sound?
I can't find a setting in the menu where I'd need to enable it. Can anybody help?

nothing to do with Midi Setup, the issue is Hardware level, when hdmi is plugged there is no way to get out signal from optical out. (no red light). Even with hdmi to dvi converter.
I just bought a none official MDP to DVI adapter, hoping it works.... just paid about 8$. But I think it's a shame to make users find own solutions and spend even more money, after spendig 1000€ in a Mac mini.......
That's not the way to do things, they made a big mistake with that, no way to get optical sound, im going to try this last trick, but even if it works im totally disappointed with apple. After more than two months Late 2012 mini come out, and no solution for this.... just an update we need!!

How can I get the DC component out of a signal in Labview

I was trying to get the DC component of a signal using lowpass filters provided by Labview(professional version 8.2). I used the FIR windowed filter but I couldn't get what I expected. The sample rate is 20* the maxium signal frequency. I simulated a function like y= 10(volt)+Sin(2*pi*f*t+phase). If I set the low cutoff to be less than the frequency f, shouldn't I get 10 volt as the outputs? See the attachment for vi. Thanks!

Hi,
You can use the filters located in Signal Processing -> Filters, then create a constant from the "filter type" input and select "Lowpass". There is also an AC & DC estimator vi, located in: Signal Processing -> Measurement.
You may also use something like "running mean" filter. To do it you need to calculate the mean value in some range around every point. It will decrease the value of the noise and will give you the dc value (or slow changing part) of your signal. Finally you can use median filter.
