Toshiba HDTV for a monitor

I just got a K450e desktop. I have used a Toshiba 23" HGTV as a monitor on two other computers. When I connected to the new K450e, the system recognized the TV. However, the TV won't show the icons on either side, so I can't navigate. I changed the resolution, but that didn't help. Any suggestions? TF

You are more than welcome.  I'm glad to help.
No problem with the Star Kudo.  The forums are currently trying out a new format so the Star button may or may not be there when you visit.  Just knowing your problem is solved is enough.

  • Good HDTV for Program Monitor for Premiere?

Hi, firstly aplogies as I know there are quite a few threads on this subject. However, I have yet to find the answer I'm looking for. I need a monitor to connect to the HDMI port on a GTX 560 will will show the video ouput only. I have a CRT for SD material (going through firewire - although pretty useless as Premiere reverses the fields!?), this one will be for HD material.
I know baout the Ezios and Flanders etc but these are out of my budget. I also understand that using a computer monitor will not give the correct representation for video. So I'm looking for a a good HDTV at 24inches (if possible), under £500.
Please only supply your model recomendations and why. I'm not looking for another discussion on the benefits of blackmagic vs matrox vs HDMI etc please! If anyone has direct experience of a particular model in their own set up that would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

why not get a 40 inch?
    cheapest is dynex
but if you really want a awesome tv with good sound i would pick sony because speakers are on the bottom of the tv and it shoots the forward. samsung is good too but, the speakers are weak they shoot down not forward.

  • IMac to "PC in" on a Toshiba HDTV

    Hi all,
I want to hook my iMac up to the "PC in"  (VGA port) of my Toshiba HDTV, and I did with adapters and cabling, but the picture is a bit distorted and it's very green. Anyone experienced in getting this to work.
I have puck type X-Rite Display Color Calibrator. Could I use this to calibrate the TV make a profile for it? Anyone else doing this?
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks, and so long for now, TOM

    Hi Allan,
Good points. I can remember way back when on old PowerMac 8500, 9600, having a special adapter which was used to hook up monitors and prevent the green problem. It had setting you could dial in depending on the resolution of the monitor you were connecting. I think it was called Sync on Green or something like that. Maybe it's a hold over issue. Or maybe not?
The computer is set to 1440x900 on the iMac, and the VGA Monitor (Toshiba HDTV) shows up as a VGA device in the Displays System Preference Pane. I am able to control the geometry (but not the color) of the image on the TV using the PC setup and change the way the screen is viewed: actual, stretched, or Dot by Dot.
I was really hoping I could treat the screen as a separate monitor so I could profile it, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that with Apple's software, Displays Preference, unlike when an actual external monitor is connected. I need to get out the Colorimeter and try it anyway.
iMac G5 Video Out>> Mini VGA>VGA Adapter>>6 ft VGA>VGA Cable>Toshiba PC In VGA on the TV
    OS is Leopard X.5.8.
Just discovered a separate issue with the iMac G5. This computer when left on and asleep, has the screen become totally inaccessible and black, and even though I can hear a hard drive (actually feel the vibration of it), I cannot wake up the machine or get it to respond. Oh joy. It's always something. I wonder why? THis did happen a few times since I installed Leopard, but do not think it was happening with X.4.11.
As always, tips, tricks, techniques, comments and poignant and pithy writings are appreciated.
Thanks, and so long for now, TOM

  • [urgent] HP DreamColor LP2480ZX - choosing for reference monitor

    Hi people,
I'm a colorist non pro because I do color grading on video that 90% ones will be on youtube and 10% (increasing, luckly) will be on broadcast HDTV.
So, my friend can sell me a new HP DreamColor LP2480ZX and I want a TRUE 10bit panel (not the z24x).
For this monitor, I will buy 700$,
So, can you give me tips on this monitor because it's so old? it's a TFT...but i don't know, it seems be an incredible opportunity.
The really problem is: I've this opportunity till this night!!
    Thanks.
    ps: I've this "workstation":
    asus X79 Deluxe
    i7 4930K
    16gb (will be 32gb) ram
    GTX 780 nvidia
    Blackmagic Minimonitor
    and other.

Hi, thank you for the reply,
Major people tell me that the Hp z24x have some problems about levels black (you can see the light at the corner of monitor), don't true?.
the Dell have UHD for 24", i can't use it for monitoring color for movie FHD resolution (1920x1080), maybe for GUI it's ideal!

  • Adding a HDTV with 2 monitors

I currently have a G5 with 2 17" studio displays using an ADC port and a DVI port with a DVI/ADC adapter. I would like to hook up my HDTV for occasional use.
Can I use a DVI splitter with the ADC/DVI/adapter 17"Display along with a DVI to HDMI cable on the other? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Due to the nature of DVI output, I am not sure that a "splitter" will do the trick. However, there are switches that you can buy that will allow you to switch the DVI signal from the monitors to the TV when needed.

  • Windows XP Driver For LCD Monitors

    Hi!
This topic may be out of place so apologies in advance but i was wondering if Toshiba have created any Windows XP Display drivers for LCD Monitors?
I have a Toshiba 26WL36 LCD monitor capable of producing a resolution of 1280 by 768. However, the quality of the picture decreases as the resolution is increased.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks For your time.

    Hi Jav
If some driver were created it would be probably delivered with the LCD Monitor. The quality and screen resolution depends on graphic card.
Sorry but it is not known to me that any LCD display need a driver.

  • DVI to VGA Adapter For 2nd Monitor

    Hello,
I have a DELL monitor with a male DVI cable.  I want to convert to VGA so I can use it as a second monitor.  I currently have an Apple female VGA to Thunderbolt adapter.  What do I need to convert this DVI male to a VGA female?  Or...., do they make a DVI to Thunderbolt adapter?
    Thanks Much,
    Rick

The Thunderbolt Port on your iMac uses Mini DisplayPort adapters for HDMI, DVI and VGA monitors.
For DVI monitor's that are 24" or smaller with a resolution of 1920x1200 or less, you need a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB570Z/B/mini-displayport-to-dvi-adapter?fnode =53
For DVI monitor's that are 27" or larger with higher resolutions, you need a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter.

  • Connecting the canon SX50 to HDTV for video playback???

Connecting the canon SX50 to HDTV for video playback???
ok, Got this Camera, like it, except for a few confusing issues. I was told, in order to playback HD video onto my HDTV Samsung, with an HDMI4 on the left side of the TV, all I needed was a HDMI to HDMI cable.
(#1) Shut off both TV and camera, plug the cable into this HDMI plugin, turn on the TV and Camera power supply, and it should recognize, then start paying.
Well, I did it both ways, (#1) shut off, then turn on, and (#2) I just inserted the camera's HDMI to the HDMI4 while both were on, and tried opening up the Samsung's' Tools >Inputs, etc, and still nothing!
Is there an easy way to accomplish this?
The second issue i'm having , is how to shut off the slow motion playback, when viewing the videos, which were not recorded in slow--mo, and it's frustrating trying to playback in normal speed, but instead it plays in slow-mo.
I'm not quite sure I'm recording in full HD...The payback is only 60i

    Thanks grazie!
Well, i accomplished most of that and at least got the video on the display (Samsung Anynet HDMI3) But no sound!
I was also able to control the SX50 TV Display with my samsung remote, kool.
As far as the playbgack volume, I checked the camera, I did notice the OPERATIONAL SOUND was off, but when I played back the video on the camera itself, i did have volume.
On that subject of Slow motion videos, if i'm watching each video, then see one playing back in slow-motion, does that mean i actually filmed it in slow motion, without knowing? ( i can send it through Pinnacle Studio 15HD and speed it back up, but theres no background volume anyway)  if i did unknowingly videotaped in slow motion, i bettter be more observant in the future.
I'm going to increase that ''Operational sound'' on the tools / Camera and try to playback to see if I have any sound.
I have a Yamaha 7.1 reciever, and TV, BD player,Time-Warner cable all is connected to this receiver....I was pushing all buttons for inputs to see which one would work for sound with video, but could not find any.  Thanks, or grazie grazie!

Since I upgraded to 10.9.5, my macbook no longer recognizes my external  hard drive. How do I fix this?  External hard drive is a 1TB Toshiba formatted for mac.  Worked fine until latest upgrade.

Solved the problem by dumping my external HD onto another computer. Re-formatting and re-installing the data.  Not what I wanted to do but it solved the problem.

  • Windows 8.1 forgets dpi / display size settings for one monitor on almost every reboot

    I use TV 32" with 1920x1080 and cintiq 13" with 1920x1080
when I boot my PC the resolution is fine but DPI is wrong.
In smaller monitor It's look like DPI is higher than the bigger one.
I already set dpi to be the same (smallest 100%) but it's not work until I do something to change display setting.
It's really annoy me. This problem is not happen when I use windows 8
Only solution I found is turn off
    "Turn on fast start-up".
When I do that It's boot like what I want. every monitor is the same DPI.
But it'll make my boot time longer.
It should be just start up windows and use the same dpi from the start.
So I think this problem is a bug in windows 8.1
    Best regards

    Thank you for reply.
I've already used the latest graphic card driver. But It's won't help this issue.
In registry editor. I check those variables then value of them is already set like that blog suggest.
So , it look like when windows start-up(with fast start-up) It use something like
suggest value for different monitor size instead of what I set in control panel. But when I turn off fast start-up windows use my setting value.
And I think there are a lot of people who got the same problem as me.
    Here is an example.

  • No 1680x1050 Resolution for External Monitor?

Hello, forum friends! So after getting a very nice 22"-ish Envision Monitor connected via VGA to my 2011 Macbook Pro, it appears that there is no option for the monitor's recommended resolution, which is 1680x1050! The highest level resolution is 1600x1200, which makes everything look a little stretched out. Does anyone know how to adjust this manually, or has anyone else had this problem? I've heard that this is a new problem from the recent display update.
    Thanks for your help!
    - Catboy. Meow!

Hmm, I've appeared to solve my own problem! I simply used the application SwitchResX. It worked very well.
Hope this helps someone else, then!

  • How Can i override a target for a monitor in a sealed Management pack

    Hello everyone,
I have very generic question here, May be it is too basic.
I have a time Skew Monitor that is present from an AD MP which is targeted to only AD Computers. Now overriding this Monitor to ALL computers , will this monitor function as expected ?
I understand that , by overriding we are changing the scope of  this monitor , but still the monitor is created targeting only  AD Computer Role Will this work on Non AD Servers after the override ?
    S.Arun Prasath

    Hi,
When creating an override for a monitor in a Sealed mp, you will automatically be asked to place the override in an unsealed mp.
When overriding, you have different options. If you want to make an override for this monitor, for all AD servers, you simply select "all objects of this class".
    I hope that makes sense.

  • Java Stack for Central monitoring system

I believe for central monitoring with only ABAP stack is sufficient to monitor both remote ABAP and JAVA stacks. For this purpose CCMS and GRMG can be used. My questing is there any need to have JAVA stack in central monitoring system? If yes, what are the things that only ABAP stack can not do alone and JAVA stack is required in central monitoring system?

    Hi,
    >
    > it also mentioned about creating CSMREG user, but it did not say in which client this activity needs to be performed, and there are lot many steps in which there is no mention about the client of solution manager in which we have to perform the configuration.
    >
You should created this user in working client.
    > Can you guys please help me to configure properly?
    >
    > One set document which I saw talks about the configuration using RZ21 and other document discuss about Configuration using System Monitoring Work Center, which one do we need to follow, are both methods are 2 different options doing the same thing, can you please clarify?
    >
You can use RZ21 or System monitoring through work center. From Solution manager 7.1, you need to use work center only. So, I would suggest you to use work center only.
