    The only way I have managed to recover completely, which appears to be equivalent to a hard-reset.
    Apply (or re-apply) the firmware update using SD card. Make sure to get the correct file that corresponds to your device. (mine is PX1530U-1ET1)
    be aware that any previously used SD card needs to be formatted by a Windows PC to be totally successful.
    I had problems getting the card recognised by the journe until I did a complete reformat of the card. (using quick format isn't thorough enough).
    1. back up your data
    2. put firmware onto card using a Windows PC
    3. plug the charger into Journe touch
    4. slide reset switch to left and back to the right. (with a paper clip)
    5. insert your firmware SD card
    6. power up and the Updating message should pop up.
    It usually takes a couple of minutes to get things back to usable.
    power off and remove the SD card. (keep it safe for future problem resolution)

    I have problems to authorize my Toshiba Journ.e Touch. Adobe Digital Editions recognizes the device, but there is no way to authorize it, there is no option for this.
    Thus I cannot transfer my ebooks from my computer to the Toshiba. At the Adobe Forum it seems that other users had the same problem. I cannot transfer my ebooks from my computer to the Toshiba Device.
    Does anybody know what is wrong or how to solve this?

    unfortunately, it is not possible to use the "Adobe Digital Editions" on the JournE Touch.
    The system requirements of the JournE Touch are not enough for this program.

    No, as far as I know this is not possible.
    Toshiba Journ.E touch uses the Windows CE system.
