TOSHIBA L300 doesn't start or charge

Ok. So last night I switched on my moms computer when I noticed that it was on low battery. I thought that was odd , because prior to using it,  I had connected it to the adaptor and let it charge for an hour or so, and I reasoned that it should have already finished charging.
So I just made sure it was connected, and it soon started indicating that the battery was charging so I let it charge while using it.
And all of a sudden it just goes off with this sort of ping. I looked and made sure it was still connected to the power outlet (it was), and that was when i started getting worried, because even if it was a battery problem, the fact of it being connected to an outlet means it shouldnt have gone off the way it did. So I went to another computer and started checking for solutions online. Some said to  remove the battery, disconnect it from the power source, hold thw power button down for 30 seconds-2 minutes, and then replace and reconnect to the power source . When I tried this the first time around, it actually came on , showed the Toshiba logo but then promptly went off again. Now it won't even start , it doesnt charge the battery at all, it doesnt work with or without the battery. Please help.

  • My Satellite Pro C650 doesn't start or charge

    Hi,
    can someone please help me?!
I just purchased my Toshiba Satellite Pro C650.
Charged it for 16 hours, set it up and after restarting it went off and now it doesn't turn on of charge at all.

    Hi
Remove the batter and disconnect the AC adaptor.
Then wait some hours and connected both parts to the notebook again.
Then try to power up the unit.
If this will not help you, then I would recommend asking a notebook technician for an check. If there is no sign of life, then a serious hardware problem might be possible.

  • Phone doesn't start or charge

My xperia z2 is completely discharged, while I do not use it. He lay there for about a week, maybe more. Now I tried to turn it on, but it does not turn on. Do not run any mode fastboot nor flashmod. The LED is still illuminated. Although the phone is not connected to anything. I apologize in advance for my english)

  • Satellite L300D- Sometimes it takes ages to start up or doesn't start

    Anyone able to help me?
Sometimes it takes me ages to start up my laptop and sometimes it doesn't start up at all and I get sent to the start up repair screen and that results in an unable to repair press ok to turn off computer message. When ever I do manage to start the laptop programs always stop responding with some responds lasting around an hour.
I have used the recovery discs I made when I was told to do so, the first time using the labtop about 5 times so far. Every time I restored the system it work fine for about 1 hour until I had to install the Windows updates.
Anyone able to help me on this problem of mine?

    Hi
Well buddy, thats really strange and I think at the moment its not easy to say what the reason is for this.
Normally I would suggest you should reset the notebook back to factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disk but you have already tried. But the interesting thing is that you wrote that it works for one hour and you have to install Windows updates. Does the Windows updates causing this problem?
What happens if you dont make the Windows updates? Does it work?
Maybe the updates are causing an incompatibility issue if you have also installed 3rd party software.
In worst case its a hardware malfunction and your notebook should be checked from a notebook technician.
In my opinion it could be a problem of the HDD too. But HDD can be checked yourself with Drive Fitness Test for example.

  • Ipod suffle 3g recognized by iTunes but doesn't start! (water damage)

My ipod shuffle 3G has a water damage. it shows the red/pink indicator.
It doesn't starts but it connects to iTunes. I can move songs to my iPod shuffle and other stuffs. But it doesn't start.
I have opened my iPod shuffle. It had green sedimentation in it. I cleaned it but it still doesn't start and is still recognized by iTunes.
Does anybody have an idea what the reason could be?

If it doesn't power on when you try to use it, the damage may be to the battery.  When it's connected, it is getting power from the USB connection, so it works.  When you disconnected, the battery does not hold a charge, so it is dead.
Since you know how to open it, you may want to try leaving it open in a dry ventilated place for a few days.  If the cause is moisture shorting something out, when the moisture evaporates, it may work again.

  • My MacBook Pro 15,4" doesn't start at all!

    Hi everyone!
Today morning, normal day, after having my MacBook Pro charging all night (as always), I took it (without any cables) in the kitchen, in order to, very surprising, turn it on!
But nothing happens!! Checking battery status: ok (new), removing it and trying without, still nothing. I tried all reset techniques, as well as Ctrl + Cmd + Start button. But still nothing.
    What is happening?
When I press the button, I hear the DVD player making his little "clac-clac", the fan is starting, and the light as well, but as soon as I take my finger off the start button, it stops again! If I keep my finger longer on the button, it stops as well after a while (normal forced stop), but the "gong" never sound.
Can anyone help me with this? Where does it come from? I'm a computer technician, and fixed a lot of laptops, but when it comes to Apple, I panic, and I don't know what to do anymore! I'm always a bit scared to open it myself...
Maybe I should add that it's making some noise on the right fan since 2 months (as if a plastic piece was blocked inside), some kind of "clac, clac, clac", and it was getting really warm sometimes. The DVD-player is also a bit "curved", and it's problematic to extract the discs sometimes.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Cheers,
    Ron.

    Hi everyone!
    Thanks for the answers.
@Advanced User: I haven't tried that yet, but I will tonight. And I found a Store in my town, in case I cant solve it myself.
@eww: I always buy original parts, even more by Apple. Of yourse I tried without the battery. All the basic tests were done. I also opened the machine and test electrically if anything was interupted. But I couldn't find anything. I must say my son (2 years old) found it very funny last week-end to play piano (pretty strongly) on the keyboard of the MB... But I don't think he broke something, otherwise I'd be really disappointed in a 2000€ notebook...
The exact model of the MacBook is MB133D/A, and I cant access any System Profiler, because the MacBook.... doesn't start! The battery was still holding 3 hours.

  • Mac book air doesn't start

    Hi

The battery indicator is lighting when I plug the charger. Is that the motherboard?

  • Ipad doesn't start or shut down.

From one second to another my new iPad2 (1 months old) doesn't  start or shut down anymore. The only visible activity is a small round circle on the screen. When connected, my PV recognizes the device, on the pad itself, however nothing seems to change. I even tried to reset my iPad and the corresponding synchrosations with iTunes seemed to work. Hoewever, after unplugging it from the PC, everything is as it was before - just the circle on the screen and from time to time a beep tone. It goes without saying that i didn't make any changes on the set up of the device. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

    Donmiguel98-
In case your battery is just low, connect the iPad to its wall charger for at least half an hour to be sure there is enough juice to get started.
Did you try connecting the iPad to your computer, running iTunes and clicking on Restore?
If you did and it didn't make any difference, you may have a defective iPad.  If you show it to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a new one on the spot.
If it is not convenient to go to an Apple Store, search for a Apple Authorized Repair Station near you.  There may be one in your city.  Your iPad appears to be under warranty, so they should either repair or replace it.

  • Just bought a 17" i7....doesn't start....

I bought my 17" MacBook Pro only 2 weeks ago and now it doesn't start.
    No sound, no image, nothing.
Battery fully charged or using MagSafe.
Reseting SMC and PRAM doesn't help either.
I paid a lot of money for a machine that doesn't work and I can't even say how I am feeling because I get my post deleted here. It's very frustrating.
I am very unhappy but Apple doesn't seem to care.

You haven't taken it back to an Apple store, and you're claiming they don't care? No wonder your posts are being deleted.
I'm sure the fix is easy. But complaining about it here is not going to get it fixed.

  • My Iphone doesn't want to charge, please help?

I have 3g Iphone, and I had a bit battery problem last few days, but now it just doesn't want to charge. Can you please help me, to repair it?

Reboot your computer and the iPhone for starters.
If you're on a Windows PC, connect the iPhone and open your Device Manager. To do that, click your Start Menu and do a search for Device Manager. Or if you're on Windows 8, open the Charms Menu on the right side and do the search from there. Once in the Device Manager, go down to Portable Devices and click the small arrow to open the sub-menu. One should say Apple iPhone. Right click on that and try to Update Driver Software. If that doesn't work, you can uninstall the driver, unplug the phone, then plug it back in to get it to reinstall the driver. That might take care of it.
Are you able to get a hold of a different Lightning cable just to be sure it's not your cable? I've seen instances where these cables get bent or twisted, especially at the Lightning connector end, and the wire inside the sheathing breaks even though the outside looks fine.

  • Doesn't start / doesn't show up anything?

    Well, first of all, Hello.
I'm using 'Ipod Touch 2nd generation' and I have a big problem. When I want to start it, it doesn't do anything, even not a error message. So I charged it for maybe, 48 hours, and it still doesn't starting. But my USB cable is working, since it says that I can sync/add things. Well it would really help if someone could tell me how to fix it, without erasing all the data and starting over (because I have so many apps and I want to keep them)
    Thank you,
    Anthony

  • PLEASE HELP!! MY Toshiba L300 Laptop has black screen after Bios update

Hi, I was looking on Toshiba's website last night for an updated driver/software to fix my windows update which was not working. Whilst looking I had a message pop up saying Bois out of date and there was an updated verion, so I clicked update for my specific laptop, thinking that will be better. A window come up saying do not switch off. The the screen froze, and I could not do anything whilst it slowly updated, then the screen went black and remained that way for a considerable amount of time. I tried rebooting the laptop, it turns on, but bios will not load, the screen just remains black. Can anyone please help me, why would an update be on Toshiba's offical website if it does this?

That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region. If it's a European model, you could check the Toshiba Europe forums.
