Toshiba L360 PSLD8E Not Charging - Help Wanted

Computer just went off whilst using it. When charger is plugged in no charging light on and computer doesn't power up.  Changed charger unit made no difference.  Tried a spare battery and computer works but still not charging. Any ideas on what to look for? I have some electrical knowledge and I am confident enough to open laptop and do some simple testing with a meter but don't know what to look for.  Are there any internal fuses that may have blown and what are they labelled as on board?  Or is it possible to get a schematic diagram that shows circuit from charger socket to help faulting?

That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region. If it's a European model, you could check the Toshiba Europe forums.

Bring it in for service.  Anytime hardware test detects an error, that's an indication the service department needs to fix it.

iphone 4s will not charge, help anyone?

If the iPhone doesn't charge when connected to the power adaptor and when connected to your computer after trying another USB cable to rule out a problem with the cable being used, more than likely the iPhone has a hardware problem with the battery or something else.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby to confirm.

  • My Toshiba Satellite does not charge or turn on.

Hiya. I'm fourteen, and I own a Toshiba Satellite C650D. This was my first ever laptop. On Christmas Eve, It shut down once by itself. I thought it might've overheated so I turned it on again and it was fine. Later on it shut off again. It didn't turn back on.. It's been stuck off this whole time. I really liked my computer and I refused all other laptops, I only want my Toshiba. The LED charge light doesn't turn on if I plug in the Brand new power cord. I tried doing a power cycle more than three times, I took it apart and dusted off the motherboard, I found no cracks in it. A little bit of pieces tumbled out, But I suspected that was from the broken hinge. The pieces that fell out were tiny pieces of plastic, and one small metal loop with three tiny arms and one medium arm. I'm not sure if this is a busted socket or anything, But I think it's the broken hinge. I really want my laptop back, It was absolutely amazing, and All I've been stuck with this whole time is an IBM thinkpad. If ANYONE can help me please do. I cannot afford to go to a service center, order parts or a disk, and my dad said he was going to find me a new laptop on ebay. I don't want a new laptop. I want my Toshiba.

Please provide the entire model number of your laptop.
Also, were you using your laptop mostly for gaming?
Was this that the first time you had felt it was hot / overheating?
When you press the power button do you hear the fan come on, even if for a few seconds?
Do you hear you hard drive spin at all?

can someone please help me or has any one had the same problem? thanks

can i put it into disk mode if the computer doesnt recognise it at all?
    Yes, you can.
"Putting your iPod into disk mode" is simply a process that involves pressing a few buttons on your iPod, getting it into Disk Mode.
To put your iPod into Disk Mode, follow the steps in this article -> Putting your iPod into Disk Mode
As Bryan said, see if the iPod is recognized by your computer when it's in disk mode.

  • Charger plugged in, but macbook 'not charging'--help! *gulp*

HELP guys, I'm freaking out *+big time+* I just noticed that when I got my macbook plugged in, it's not charging. The icon is the one you got when it's plugged in (with the little fork-shaped thing in the middle), but instead of it saying 'charging' like when the battery isn't full, or 'charged', when it is, it just says 'Not Charging'. It's like it can see the magsafe connector inside, but the juice isn't coming through to the battery, even though the computer itself is powered by the charger since when I click on the power symbol I get 'Power source: Power adapter'.
Also, the magsafe connector itself isn't lit. It used to be green for a bit, but a much weaker green than normal, and before that it wasn't even lit--I've tried with three different wall outlets, one of which was outside my house where I usually use it (it was in a starbucks). Also, when I disconnected the magsafe to get a reading for the battery, it was only 1:35, even though the magsafe light was green (albeit a weak green).
If it matters, I'm running 10.5.3. The macbook is still fairly new, bought mid-december, all updates current as I got it set to checking daily and install the minute I get the notice. Any ideas what could be the matter? Please tell me what it could be if you know, because I am getting really scared something might be wrong! And the worse is we don't have real applestores where i live, so I can't take it there!glp

    UPDATE
Got mine working! I went back and cleaned the magsafe connectors again .
    read tech doc
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303240
Even though mine looked clean and not bent, one of the pins must have been pushed in (which would explain power but no charging)
Also, it took me three times cleaning (I used compressed air, but they say use a soft toothbrush) before it worked for good (the orange light would come on but go out in 5 minutes)
I now have a full charge!
    Hope this helps

  • Low Battery - Battery too low for Radio use - And Curve will not Charge - HELP!!!

Need help and lost without BB.  My BB displays Low Battery.  If I try and make a call I get Battery too low for Radio use.  I have tried to charge the BB but nothing happens and still cannot make call or charge unit.  Tried charging overnight with car charger and A/C adapter.  Tried removing battery for one minute and reinstalling.
    Any ideas????

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
When you are connected to the charger, do you see the lightning bold charging symbol displayed over or next to the battery indicator on the screen of the device? If so, then let it charge a while. A battery at less than 10% charge can take an hour or more to get just 10% higher, and then the charging will move faster.
If you are not seeing the charging indicator, then you could have a bad USB port.
If you connect it to your PC via the USB cable, does the BlackBerry appear to connect?

  • Ibook does not charge, help

    Hello
I have a ibook G4 that I use a lot but since yesterday it doesn't charge anymore. When I plug it in, the green\orange light is on for a second or two and then it stops. My battery is dead now and I can't use my computer. I tried another charger that a friend gave me but it does the same. Can someone help, please I am desperate.
    Thank you

    Hey Dustin,
You could try a few other things:
go to terminal and type in:
    ioreg -l -w 0 | grep Capacity
You'll get a readout of the battery state and capacity.
    or
down load Battery Health Monitor from here:
    http://www.sonoragraphics.com/software.html
much easier than all that weird typing.
Get a known good battery from someone and try that in your iBook and at the same time try your battery in their iBook.
Try a deep reset of your PMU: pull the battery, AC adapter, push the power button a few times and walk away from it at least overnight. Come back after like 10 hours and see what's going on with it.

  • 3rd Generation, 15g Ipod- Will Not Charge- HELP

I have a 3rd generation, 15g Ipod- I keep it for nostalgia purposes but I can't get it to charge.
    It has a new battery.
I'm extremely frustrated at my experience with Apple. Technology changes so fast (i've owned it 7years) that no one seems to know or care to assist me either at the Apple 800 number or in the Apple store.
I have the original Ipod but not the cradle or anything else that I can find. We have purchased so many Ipods over the years.
So I have been told that if the battery gets to low I must charge it with the a wall adaptor. So today I purchase a new wall adaptor but it won't charge the ipod. Plugging into my 2 year old Imac won't charge it either. Is there another way to charge the Ipod?
I just received it back with a new battery. It was 1/4 charged and Imac recognized it perfectly. I just think the battery got too low and needs to be charged another way. HEEEEEELPP!

    Hi,
I just think the battery got too low and needs to be charged another way. HEEEEEELPP!
No. You're lucky that the battery went for 7 years. They do not last forever.

  • Toshiba Qosmio X505 plugged in, not charging message

I have a Toshiba Qosmio X505 that is almost 4 years old and have some power issues.  The battery is drained to about 6% and the battery icon in the tool bar has the plug symbol for a second then it goes away then comes back and goes away.... it keeps flashing like this.  When I move the mouse over the battery icon it says plugged in, not charging.  I have tried every solution I have found on line with no luck.  I have removed the battery and ac charger and then held the power button for 30 seconds, I have cleaned the connections, I have re-installed the battery about 10 times, I have rebooted all to no avail.
When I remove the ac adapter the power light is off and the battery light is orange.  When I remove the battery and plug in the ac adapter the power light is steady red.  As soon as I put the battery in the ac power light begins to blink on and off.  The computer does not power on with the battery removed and the ac adapter plugged in (but I'm not sure if it's supposed to). I will also add that in the last week or so when I power on I would get a black screen saying an NTFS file is bad and the machine wants to do a disk check.  The disk check never runs, even when I try to do it manually.
I have read this could be a motherboard issue, an ac adapter issue, or a battery issue.  I am hopoing a replacement battery fixes the problem.  Before buying a battery I was hoping someone had some info to share.  Thanks

I bought a battery hoping that takes care of the problem.  If that doesn't work I will try a new adapter and if that doesn't work I will probably just remove the hard drive and use it as an external on a new machine.  Seems there really isn't a whole lot of info out there about this problem other than the start button solution.

    Hi sdennisonta,
If you are having an issue with charging your MacBook Pro, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
Mac notebooks: All about batteries - Apple Support
If the battery appears to be working correctly you may want to see if the issue lies with your power adapter. Use the steps in this article -

  • IPad mini not charging. Please help. :-/

    Hey there,
I just purchased an iPad mini and I plugged it into my windows laptop (Toshiba) for the first time. I was able to sync it up with my iTunes and everything without a problem. But then I noticed that on my actual iPad mini where it shows the energy level on the upper right hand side, it says "Not Charging." And this is while my iPad IS plugged into my laptop. So it should be charged. Is there something in the settings or in iTunes that I have to do in order to get my iPad mini to charge right? Thanks for any help you can give me. I appreciate it.
    ---JohnnyCloud81

Thanks for the tip deggie. I tried that. I don't think that's the issue. I have an iPhone 5 that uses the same USB port on my laptop and my iPhone 5 charges from there normally without a problem. I also should mention that I tried charging my iPad mini using the A/C adaptor and it was charging fine. So I'm not sure why my iPad mini is refusing to charge off my laptop. So confusing....

  • HELP! BATTERY DOES NOT CHARGE FUL

I installed the firmware from the webbie, and now my zen stone plus mp3 player has problem charging fully. The media lite programme says it is only 2% charged but the mp3 player is blinking. I on the mp3 player and it is only 2 bar charged. I tried to change the usb port and re plug my mp3 player many times but it is still stuck at 2%!
    I want to cry. T_T
    Save me someone.

I would try a different charger to make sure there isn't a problem with the charger causing it to only work when the iPhone is powered down.
If that does not help, then a visit to the Apple store genius bar would be a good idea to have the techs test the iPhone to see why it is not charging normally.  If you do that, make a backup of the contents, best to do that in iCloud, so if the decision is to replace the iPhone you can restore your content.  If it is backed up in iCloud, the Apple techs can restore while you wait.

  • Macbook Pro will not charge.. Help

My macbook pro got a some water spilt on it so I put a fan over it and and used rice to try to dry the moisture. The computer itself works fine everything works like it normally would except that it will not charge. It recongizes that the charger is connected to it but says it's not charging. The charger itself isn't the problem because I tried another charger and it didn't work either. Is it the battery or is it something else that doesn't work? I'm pretty despirate for help and I don't have any warrenty on it so I don't want to call Apple if I don't have to and pay $50 for them to tell me that something is wrong..

try an smc reset see if that works here is an apple link that will explain you how to do so http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
