  • Toshiba laptop hardware NO SOUND issue - I've tried everything!!! PLS help!

I have a Toshiba Satellite tablet laptop Model R25-S3513 model... the sound initially started acting weird, sounding funny like skipping, or fluttering (?) eventually laptop internal speakers stopped working all together.
I bought some head phones, they worked fine via head phone jack on front, for about 6 months... and then that went south too... I bought some external speakers to try on it, they work on my friends laptop, but not mine! Now the volume control won't even appear on screen anymore!
I've un-installed and reinstalled, updated drivers, rolled back the driver, went through the troubleshooting scenarios to no avail... and I am SO frustrated!
I have read that my laptop has an integrated sound card - does this mean I can't replace it?!!
I have read that I can enhance my sound by using a PCMCIA sound card or a USB sound card - but can I really enhance what isn't working in the first place??? What do I need to do here? I appreciate anyone's help at all!
    Denise

I have this same issue.  U205-s5034. Sound went out after an update to Windows XP.  Tried many things, yet nothing worked. So I did a custom install of Windows 7, including all the new drivers.  Still no sound.  No device in sound Device Manager either.
Is it possible the integrated sound has died?  I have tried installing the drivers in many ways, including from safe mode.  Same results always. Just a speaker with an X and the note that there is no audio device.
Is it possible to replace just the sound hardware or is the fact that it is integrated mean I must replace the motherboard?  I understand I could purchase a sound card?  Any suggestions?

  • A100/105 recovery problem

    Hey there,
I have been trying to get the recovery processs going on my laptop and it starts to load the first disc but then says something about partition creation error and gives 0800000000. I have tried to look this up to see what the error was or how to work around it but have come up with nothing. Has anyone else seen something like this or have any info on solving this?
    thank you

    Hi SAN111,
I saw your post and I will be happy to help. Would you please clarify a few things for me. So you are running a dual boot system with Windows 7 and Windows 8, correct? Do you have separate hard drive for each operating system or are the two partitions for the two operating system? The recovery disk you are using is one your created yourself, correct? Did you create this before you installed Windows 7?

  • Very poor sound on the toshiba laptop 205e

I bought this computer aat Best Buy a toshiba laptop E-205 and I have a serious sound problem. The sound is so weak that I can hardly hear it.  I have read your advice but I do not see the realtek audio manager under the control panel even if I use the search feature. Can you give me some help. Where can I get the latest driver? And how can I install the driver and last how can I control this driver? Thanks JP McCray

My A210 at exactly two years lost audio volume.  Of course, out of warrantly.  I can get clear sound from external speaker, but unacceptably low volume.  Seems that I should be able to get an amplfier that would boost the sound, but no luck so far.  Has anyone come up with a fix?

  • Toshiba satellite A 100 sound driver problem

  • Sound problems with Satellite A100 (PSAA8)

I am continually having sound problems with the laptop. Whilst I hear the windows start up noise and beeps, I cannot hear any sound from things like CDs, iTunes, Media Player - in fact an error message will always come up. In Media Player the error message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device......." comes up. I have a the standard pre-installed Realtek sound thing on my laptop. I have tried downloading a newer driver from the Toshiba support centre, but I don't know what to do with the zip file. Also in Control Panel, Sounds, everything is greyed-out.
Hope someone can help cos I am going nuts with this :-)
    Thanks

    Hi again
I have downloaded the Realtek sound driver from the Tosh page and unzipped it.
(I have chosen the driver for Vista!!! I suppose you use Vista???)
There is a folder called sound. Access this folder and run Setup.exe
But before you will start this procedure you could access the device manager (control panel -> computer -> device manager) and choose sound, video, and game controller. There you have to mark realtek AC and click on uninstall and reboot the unit.
After this sound driver removing you should start the new driver installation described above. (setup.exe)

  • Sound on the Toshiba Laptops

If your Toshiba Laptop is having a sound problem call for service by an authorized service provider if you laptop is still under warranty. The sound card is embedded in the motherboard and there is no way to repair it without replacing the motherboard. It is too late for me, but you can save yourselves.

please tell me what is problem in My Laptop. i have window 7 ultimate operating system.
    Please help me sir

What sound problem - no sound on anything, no sound on some apps ?
Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
And for future info typing in all capitals is considered to be SHOUTING

  • Persistent blue screen of death problems on Toshiba laptop pc; need help

    hey, guys,
I was hoping you could help me out here.  I have been experiencing persistent blue screen of death problems on my Toshiba laptop since December 21 of 2014.  The first two times I started having theses persistent issues, I downloaded a bunch of redundant programs and games onto my computer, some of which were virus infected.  I had these programs on my computer for a while before my laptop was taken in for repairs.  I eventually uninstalled some unnecesssary programs from my pc, hoping it would have fixed these issues, even tried windows update.  I didn't have a clue that my problems were due to virus infections/malware until the two most recent times my computer was taken in for repairs; I had always been thinking it was a defective driver.  My laptop has already been in for repairs at least twice due to these perpetual BSOD problems; I had Norton Internet Security installed on my pc before the Geek Squad team (who repaired my computer and found 312 traces of malware in my system during the virus test; I was told by them that I had mistakenly downloaded infected web browsers onto my pc) switched me to Webroot SecureAnywhere (they said it was better at detecting viruses/malware than my NIS), but even after my pc has been through repairs twice in a row, I am still experiencing blue screens (this only seems to have happened once each week, and on one occasion, I went through almost two weeks without it occurring).  I am pretty sure, that I haven't downloaded anything onto my computer infected with viruses/malware (each of the scans done by my Webroot antivirus have found nothing), I have only a few games/apps installed on my pc, and what I downloaded all came from Microsoft's official website.  I can't afford to be wasting any more money on repairs, and I am desperately searching for any possible way to fix this myself.  Any help would be appreciated.  I have a copy of two of the memory dumps from my most recent crashes (I also have the dump reports from my most recent crashes dating back to March 6; I got these from an app from NirSort called Blue Screen View, if you need those)  I also have my system specs:
    http://1drv.ms/1I6AsaE
    http://1drv.ms/1Qdsb7T
Note that many of these earler dump reports (the ones from March) came from viruses.  The ones from most recently as last month, I am not sure about.

Thrashing about this way gets us nowhere.
Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents.
Settings > Change PC settings > Update and recovery tab > Recovery tab > Remove everything and reinstall Windows
Use the freshly restored machine for a day or so before any installations of hardware, software, or updates of any kind. If you get no crashes, the problem is not likely due to hardware.
Then add updates and other things slowly, keeping track of them. If you get crashes after that, give us the corresponding dmp files.

    Hello darkhawk,
Thank you for the recommendation.  I somewhat understand what a MS DOS disk is, but I'm not sure how to go about creating one. I've seen where you can use a program, like Rufus, to create a usb one  - but I'm leery about using 3rd-party programs (especially ones I'm not familiar with). I've come across a couple of 'how-to' tuts, but they didn't clarify what files (if any) I would need to include on the disk (for my particular situation). Right now I don't have any blank cds, nor any extra flash/thumb drives - wish I did, but hadn't needed these for years. There has only been one other time where I needed to re-install Windows, but that was over 15 years ago - I did it through BIOS, reformatting my drives, and then reinstalled via the Windows XP disk. Windows 8 is an entirely different breed, which has left me feeling a bit stumped, at times. If there was a way I could perform it (successfully), similar to the first time I did it years ago, I'd give it a try - but at the same time, I'm a bit reluctant, because if it doesn't work, then I'm stuck without any internet access to get further help.
Ask and ye shall receive. This should be doable in Windows 7 and Windows 8 on another PC. I recommend using a USB Flash drive like in this tutorial, but I'm sure you could use something else.
If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

Also very useful for sorting out virus's as long as it's downloaded and made on another PC that is virus free......

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update, select 'View update history' in the left hand pane and then select 'Installed updates' link in the following window.
Locate update KB2962407, right click it and select Uninstall.  When done, restart the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update and select 'Check for updates'.  You'll see the update you just uninstalled being offered again - right click and select 'Hide Update'.
When windows has reloaded, use recovery manager to reinstall your original IDT HD Audio driver as detailed in the document on the link below.

Thanks for your reply!

    Hello mahii,
I'm sorry you are having trouble with the sound on your notebook.  Take a look at this document, which provides steps to take when having sound problems with external speakers and headsets.  If the first document doesn't help resolve your issue, take a look at this document, which may have a couple more things you can try.  Hopefully, you won't even need the 2nd document.
I was listening to one of my favorite bands when I pulled up your posts - SAGA.  Even though they are from Canada, they are very popular in Germany!  The specific show I was listening to, was performed in Westfalenhalle Dortmund.
Please let me know how it goes with the troubleshooting steps.
    Good luck!

the laptop fan makes sound when i play games on my laptop...what could be the problem?

Then install iStat Menus 4.04 so you can provide us with some temperature and fan speed data.
What about before you start the game? After you start the game do this:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time (>=70,) then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
If it's the game causing the problem then either something is wrong with the game or it's not compatible with Lion.
