Toshiba Laptop Connects to ANY Network Except Home

Hi All,
Really appreciate any help here. I'm very frusturated! My Tosiba AMD A10 laptop will connect flawlessly to work/school/public networks all the time. When I get home, it connects, but immediately drops my home network most of the time. Sometimes it maintains connection for about 20 minutes, but then it drops off again and again. All my other devices can connect to my home network, including two iphones and a Mac Air.
I also cannot connect my laptop to a personal hotspot on my iPhone. Not sure if that helps.
Are there any basic steps I should take to try and fix this? I don't think it's a hardware issue.
Thanks a lot everyone.

That's all I need, but unfortunately, I don't have any information on that model. It's from Toshiba Canada, and this is the forum for Toshiba USA. You might want to call Toshiba in Canada!

After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.1 it will not connect to the wifi network at work even though it recognizes it. It however still automatically connects to the network at home (this is the network I used to update the phone). My iPad however does not seem to have any problem connecting. I have restared the phone, toggled the router, re-entered the network password but there's still no connection.

When your device is trying to connect to the work Wi-Fi network, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then tap on the name of the Netowrk that she is having trouble with. Then tap on forget this network. Let the device attempt to connect again and make absolutely sure she is trying to connect to the work network and not a nearby network, then make absolutely sure the password is entered correctly.

  • My mac book won't connect to any networks.

My mac book 7,1 won't connect to any networks (wireless connection) . It says "ALERT NO INTERNET CONNECTION" . The configuration IPv4 is on: Using DHCP. So, I don't understand why it's telling me this, and how i can fix it.

What do the Apple OS X network diagnostics report:
     > System Preferences > Network > Assist Me... > Diagnostics ...
    about your network connection?
Do the networking problems here also effect connections via a wired network?
Have you tried a different wireless network?   Does connecting at a library, café or Apple store work?
I'm going to assume that you're not running OS X Server 10.6 on this MacBook — that would be unusual — and that you're probably running the client version of OS X 10.6, and are here in this forum because you saw the 10.6 in the forum title.  If I'm wrong here, there can potentially be other triggers for the network outage.  OS X Server management is rather different from whe OS X that Apple installs on a MacBook.

  • My phone is not connecting to any network despite having activated it already

Hi,I am in Italy and my phone is not connecting to any network, I am stuck here even though I had enabled roaming on my phone. I have no access to any phone line here to call EE and resolve the issue. Can EE staff please help re-connect my line for roaming? I am using a strangers phone to post this message. I appreciate a quick help since I am stuck here with family.

Buying a bundle doesn't mean that your device will work aborad you need to make sure roaming is enabled on your account.
turning on roaming on the device does not give you roaming when abroad.
If you have a EE extra plan you still need to make sure roaming is enable on your account your plan only gives you free/cheaper calls when abroad.
If your wanting to enable roaming on your account there could be a deposit to pay if you haven't had the device for about 6 months.
Unless you have paid the deposit then roaming is not enabled on your account.
You need to activate roaming on your account by calling 150 from your device or from a landline 01707 315000 before you leave the UK.
But you can still do this if you are abroad.
If you have had the device/contract for 6 months or over you can login to your online account and turn on roaming yourself
Manage this device>Usage controls>Roaming abroad - Allow and Call abroad and turn it on. If the option is not there you need to call
It can take 24 hours to activate
If you had this device/contract for under 6 months you need to call customer services on +44 7953 966250 from a landline.
Once you have activated roaming you can then use this link to see what cost there is and what bundles you can have.
    http://explore.ee.co.uk/roaming/ee
    Please read this about voicemail
    http://ee.co.uk/help/getting-started/setting-up-voicemail/divert-to-voicemail
    And this
    http://ee.co.uk/articles/set-up-your-phone-for-using-abroad
Also sending a text to 150 with the words of RO country your going to i.e. RO Spain will get you a reply of what the costs will be from that country.

  • Can't connect to any networks while aboard

Hi, I am on holidays in Ireland and can't connect to any networks here. My mobile is a galaxy mini s4.
    Any help much appreciated!
    Thanks

Did you enable roaming on your a/c before you left? You may still be able to via your online a/c. Buying a roaming pack doesn't in itself enable roaming. See Roaming – Everything you need to know!.

  • I am heading out to the US from NZ and I want to buy an Iphone, Will it work in NZ if I buy from Apple and do not connect to any network until back in NZ? Thanks

I am heading out to the US from NZ and I want to buy an Iphone, Will it work in NZ if I buy from Apple and do not connect to any network until back in NZ? Thanks

When you get to the States, if you will be in an area with an Apple store for a couple days, call and ask about reserving an unlocked iPhone, it takes a couple days to get it in the store from what I understand.
The current MBP 15" models are 2.2 and 2.4 GHz i7 machines.  There is a 17" with 2.5 GHz i7.
The difference, in addition to the slightly faster cpu, is:
    2.2 GHz - Radeon HD 6750 M with 512 MB VRAM
    2.4 GHz - Radeon HD 6770 M with 1 GB VRAM
Both have the same hard drive, 750 GB 5400 rpm, both have the same primary graphics - Intel 3000.
So the difference is in the discrete grapics processor, important for heavy video work, heavy gaming...but will drain the battery a lot faster.
You can get all the details on any Mac computer by going to http://www.everymac.com and click on the model and then scroll down to the exact machine of interest.

  • I can get on the internet with my laptop using my wireless network at home but I can not get on the internet using my ipad.  The wi-fi setting show a connection on my ipad but I can not pull up the internet.  Any ideas?

My laptop connects to the internet via my wireless network at home.  My ipad will not bring up the internet using the same connection.  It shows in the wi-fi settings as connected but when I bring up safari, nothing comes up.  Any ideas?

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • My Mac will connect to any website except Facebook. All other devices on the same network connect fine ?

Hi, for the last 24 hours it has been impossible to connect to Facebook from my Mac. I can connect to any other website, just not Facebook. Any ideas anyone ? Thanks, Steve

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try Facebook.

  • Toshiba laptop (C55-B5302) has "network cable unplugged" error message repeatedly. Why?

I recent purchased Toshiba Laptop running Windows 8.1 at local Best buy.  The models number is C55-B5302.
When connected via ethernet cable, I keep seeing an error message in network adapter settings saying "network cable unplugged".
However, this "unplugged" message switches back and forth repeadedly from "connected" when I am not doing anything to the cable.
My internet is very sporadic because of this.  I replaced the cable but still same error.
Any idea on how I can resolve the issue?
    Please help.  Thanks.

Try downloading and installing the latest LAN driver:
RealTek LAN Driver File: tc40213700b.exe DOWNLOAD Version: 8.024.1218.2013 Posted Date: 2014-03-13
If that doesn't fix it, it could be faulty. You might want to exchange it.

  • Ipod not detecting any networks except mine

When I first purchased my iPod Touch, it would consistently detect a list of approximately 10 wireless networks (when I was sitting in my living room). My laptop detected the same 10 wireless networks. About a month ago, my iPod stopped detecting any of these other networks. It would still detect my own wireless network, but only if I was in the same room as the router. And even though it would detect my network, it would rarely connect to it. I took my unit back to the store, and the store sent it out for "repairs". I received a refurbished unit.
The refurbished unit seems to connect to my network a little more frequently, and seems to detect it from a little further away (like upstairs) but it still doesn't detect any of the multiple networks that are in my area.
It also doesn't detect any networks when I take it downtown to the office district (and when I first purchased my iPod, it would detect like 40 networks when I was downtown).
What's the deal? And how do I fix this?

    I have the same problem.

  • My Ipod Touch can not connect to any network.

It occured after I changed my password... I dont know how that can affect it, but I would just like to put that out there. I did try the ways to fix this problem, i tryed reseting my wifi settings to factory settings but that did not help. Any suggestions...

I have no idea what ", i tryed reseting my wifi settings to factory settings " means.
Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Unable to connect to any network

Ever since I moved I cannot access any wireless network in the area while other computers can. Please help.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A110-260 with Windows XP Home Edition with Atheros AR5006EG Wireless Network Adapter.
If there is any information I left out which are necessary tell me and I'll add it

You mean, you moved to another house/flat and afterwards your wireless did not work anymore? Did you changed some software or updated some drivers?
Which service pack is installed on your machine? Would be interesting to know.
Otherwise I would recommend you to set everything on the wireless access point to default and activate DHCP which automatically assigns an IP adress to your machine. You should also set everything wireless related on your computer to default and make sure that the wireless card is properly activated (check if the little switch is slided to "ON").

  • Wifi on iPhone 3G will not connect to any networks

My iPhone 3G appears to no longer want to connect to any wifi networks.
I have two encrypted networks at home, both of which it is authorised on, and last week it decided not to play on either network. I have trouble-shooted (trouble-shot?) this by doing the following:
    - factory reset of iPhone (no restore of my settings)
    - unprotect wifi networks & try to connect
    - try to connect to known open public wifi networks
    - cycle wifi on and off again on phone
    - cycle airplane mode on and off
    - cycle phone on and off (hard reset)
    - restore of my settings to iPhone and try connections again as per above
In all cases I get the same message telling me the iPhone was unable to connect to the wireless network but no other information.
I'm suspecting a hardware fault, but before I lose my iPhone to a couple of weeks diagnostic testing does anyone have any suggestions for other things i could try to see if I can get it working.
    Thanks
    Andy

Yea - I've tried public wifi hotspots too (many of them which I know worked before) and none of them can be connected to.
I fear I will be phone less for a few days while Apple assess this to see if there is a fault with it.
