Toshiba Laptop - Need Further Help

So, after much troubles and going to the apple store to get them to restore my video ipod (it wouldn't do it for me)...we've tried everything to get it to sync to my itunes on my toshiba satellite laptop. it finally after about 45 minutes started downloading songs from my itunes but stopped midway to only give me an error and stop. we have followed MANY of the support articles including this one:

but it's not helping. plugged it in to my brothers Dell XPS desktop and not only connected but downloaded like MAD! So, is there something I can do with my laptop to make this work? I hate to think that in order to get my favorite tv shows, songs, etc...I have to network to his computer and do it that way. Makes $400 seem like a complete waste. Tell me it isn't so! If you have a Toshiba (which appears to be a known problem - lucky me) then PLEASE respond if you've figured out how I can fix. If it means upgrading and doing whatever to the laptop I will!!!

I've been having similar issues on my Toshiba... I found that the best thing to do is disable the high speed USB interface (sounds like you've already done that if you followed the instructions in "iPod not recognized correctly on Toshiba laptop") and then restore the iPod with the latest updater. After that, I found that if I disconnect the iPod, and re-enable the high speed USB and restart the computer, I can connect my iPod and iTunes sees it and syncs it without any issues. It just takes iTunes a while to open up when the iPod is connected. It sounds like the issue with Toshiba laptops varies from computer to computer, you may need to play around with your settings until you find out what works best for you.

  • Install on g4 laptop need some help please

    I have a G4 laptop but my DVD player does not work I just put in a new harddrive so I need to install a OS so any ideas on how to her this installed. I have a g5 tower and an extrnal hard drive. I really don't want to spend the money for an external DVD. Can I plug the laptap n the g5 and use the DVD player from that computer or can I put the install on the extaral hard drive and install from there?

    Start the G4 with the T key down, until it has a firewire symbol on the screen. Connect the G5 and laptop with a firewire cable (Have the G5 started). Put the Install disk in the G5, and hit the "Install" button, or restart it, and hold down the C key. You can now choose to install ono the G4.
    Note: You will hear people tell you about a conflict of using a G5 to install on a G4. It is nonsense, and speculation. They have no proof. I have done this type of thing so many times I cannot tell you, and never had any trouble.
    Also, replacing the DVD internally is really cheap, and easy, if you already replaced the HD.

  • In need of help to replicate something and then modify it

    I need to recreate an image document that is a bit complex and I need to get some direct feedback regarding how exactly to do this. I'm new to Photoshop. Even though I've watched many of the Photoshop training videos I still need further help for this project. I have a sample of what I need to recreate. Unfortunately what I am trying to replicate has already been grouped or flattened, otherwise it would be easy enough to simply replace and modify each layer as needed. Does this make sense?     Hi:
    If you are referring to the picture, you need to open the case to remove that jumper.
    If you are referring to how to actually access the BIOS software menu, you do that by tapping the F10 key at the HP welcome screen.
    When opening the case of your PC, please make sure you disconnect the A/C power cord.

    Your work is not lost. It may be held captive by a broken PC, but you can get it off your hard drive by putting the hard drive currently in your PC into another one as a secondary drive, and copying the data off of it.

  • Persistent blue screen of death problems on Toshiba laptop pc; need help

    hey, guys,
     I was hoping you could help me out here.  I have been experiencing persistent blue screen of death problems on my Toshiba laptop since December 21 of 2014.  The first two times I started having theses persistent issues, I downloaded a bunch of redundant programs and games onto my computer, some of which were virus infected.  I had these programs on my computer for a while before my laptop was taken in for repairs.  I eventually uninstalled some unnecesssary programs from my pc, hoping it would have fixed these issues, even tried windows update.  I didn't have a clue that my problems were due to virus infections/malware until the two most recent times my computer was taken in for repairs; I had always been thinking it was a defective driver.  My laptop has already been in for repairs at least twice due to these perpetual BSOD problems; I had Norton Internet Security installed on my pc before the Geek Squad team (who repaired my computer and found 312 traces of malware in my system during the virus test; I was told by them that I had mistakenly downloaded infected web browsers onto my pc) switched me to Webroot SecureAnywhere (they said it was better at detecting viruses/malware than my NIS), but even after my pc has been through repairs twice in a row, I am still experiencing blue screens (this only seems to have happened once each week, and on one occasion, I went through almost two weeks without it occurring).  I am pretty sure, that I haven't downloaded anything onto my computer infected with viruses/malware (each of the scans done by my Webroot antivirus have found nothing), I have only a few games/apps installed on my pc, and what I downloaded all came from Microsoft's official website.  I can't afford to be wasting any more money on repairs, and I am desperately searching for any possible way to fix this myself.  Any help would be appreciated.  I have a copy of two of the memory dumps from my most recent crashes (I also have the dump reports from my most recent crashes dating back to March 6; I got these from an app from NirSort called Blue Screen View, if you need those)  I also have my system specs:

     Note that many of these earler dump reports (the ones from March) came from viruses.  The ones from most recently as last month, I am not sure about.

    Thrashing about this way gets us nowhere.
    Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents.
       Settings > Change PC settings > Update and recovery tab > Recovery tab > Remove everything and reinstall Windows
    Use the freshly restored machine for a day or so before any installations of hardware, software, or updates of any kind. If you get no crashes, the problem is not likely due to hardware.
    Then add updates and other things slowly, keeping track of them. If you get crashes after that, give us the corresponding dmp files.

    It suggests the installer is getting damaged during the download.
    I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

  • Toshiba laptop keep going black screen when I use facebook or play any games. Help! Please!

    When I'm on facebook or playing games and in any random times my laptop will freeze...for like 2 seconds..then it goes black...all black u can see its still on my programs are still running but I can't see nothing just black screen.   • I just had to have my toshiba laptop hard drive replaced and I am unable to move my itunes library from my ipad back to the laptop.  It says it is linked to another library  and I can only transfer purchased music etc and not the rest of the library.Help!

    I have just had my Toshiba laptop hard drive replaced. This has resulted in all previous content held on the laptop to be lost.   I wanted to try and transfer my music library from my ipad to the laptop, but it will not allow me to do so.  The message is that the ipad is linked to another computer and it will only allow the transfer of the items purchased on through the ipad and nothing else.  Does anyone know if the full library can be transferred back to the computer?

    You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
    You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
    There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.

    Update:  I tried the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" after everything else either fizzled out or hung up. After going all the way thru the recovery process (up to 100%), I finally got an error message.....it didn't work. And now, when I fire up the computer, I don't even get to that menu with the recovery options....the only thing I can boot into is the screens with the various ways to run your OS (in "safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc).
    I'm not a techie, but I'm guessing at this point, the part of my hard drive that got damaged in the fall was, at the very least, the partition with the recovery data. Couple that with the fact that this cheapo Toshiba laptop didn't even come with recovery disk (or ANY kind of disk, even basic installation software!), I'm screwed: I don't see any way to get a workable computer now without some kind of disk to boot from. So NOW my concern is more about spending the $$ for a new OS and THEN finding out the hard drive has other problems too...is broken in some other way to boot.
    How to check this? As I said, I did run "chkdsk" back when I could get into the recovery menu and run the fix-it programs. It didn't note any problems. Thinking of taking this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (which I never liked), but I have to know that the computer is otherwise ok....how to be sure? Help!!

    What is the size of your hard disk?  PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine.  Just a thought here.
