Toshiba Lax blinking yellow LED

After witnessing a short 110V power failure while my 42HL67US T/V was in operation, power was restored and the yellow LED is blinking on a three blink/pause pattern. I have tried the unplug/replug attempt and the reset T/V by pressing and hold the control panel for the 5 second time period+ and had no response, the yellow LED continues to blink.
The T/V is installed in my RV, very seldom used, in the like new condition.  Are there any other checks I can do before I pull the T/V and contact a repair tech or buy another T/V?
I see where other folks had similar problems and wonder what their fix was?  I'm not a highly qualified electronic type so any input would be deeply appreciated.
     Thank You
          Tony

That blinking yellow LED simply indicates that the TV is trying to boot. Unfortunately, I don't know what's wrong with it, and there's no easy way to check. It may require servicing.

  • Solution for blinking yellow LED despite the fact it works

I've seen a bunch of questions/comments about frustrations about having blinking yellow LEDs even when everything seems to work.
    Here's how to fix this:
    1) Launch AirPort Utility
    2) Select your base station in the list at the left
    3) Select "Manual Setup" from the "Base Station" menu.
    4) When you get the summary, there will be a little Yellow LED in summary (not talking about the list on the left). Click on it!
    5) You will now see a list of the problems causing the base station consternation and you grief because little blinky LEDs drive you folks nuts. Some of the problems listed here should be addressed and some of them are because you deliberately chose to configure your base station this way.
    6) Fix any issues listed that sound ominous.
    7) For any remaining issues, check the "Do not show this warning again" if you don't want the base station to worry about the issues you don't care about. (For example if you insist on using "public" for your base station password and having an open network, bless you...I love free wireless)
If you see warnings about IP Addresses, bad disks, missing cables, etc. you probably should fix it.

Strangely, when I look at the Utility, all hardware has a Green dot.
But the Extreme is still blinking yellow.
The only problem I am having currently is the connection to the attached HD is dropping occasionally, requiring a reboot.

  • Toshiba 37lx96 blinking yellow light

My Toshiba 37LX96 would not turn on but has yellow blinking light. It would blink 3 times then a pause and another blink. This cycle repeated over and over. Replaced the 3 IC chips STRZ4479, STRW6765 & SRX2039 on power supply board as suggested by the many posts that i searched. After replacing the IC chips i developed another problem. The power relays (SR80 & SR81) on power supply board are clicking on and off constantly and the yellow light is still blinking as before (3 blinks 1 pause & then again 3 blinks & 1 pause).
Is it possible that one of the new component i replaced is defective?
Presently the only voltage i measure on the power supply board is 5.0vdc on pin 7 of Plug P809.
Before replacing the 3 IC chips i measured the following voltages at power board (PE0071G1):
    Plug-P807B Pin7 28.7vdc
    Plug-P809B Pin7 5.07vdc Pin9 (ACDETECT) 3.492vdc Pin12 (Power) 3.039vdc
All other pins measured 0.0 volts on rest of pins.
Did anybody experienced a similar problem?
    Please help

From the 3 IC chips which i replaced one of them was defective Q820 (SRX2039). Removed and replaced with existing IC chip and TV was repaired. Ic chips purchased on line from WWW.SUBURBAN-ELECTRONICS.COM. Paid $15.99 for STRZ4479 , $6.95 for STRW6765, $9.95 for SRX2039 plus shipping.
Note:  The yellow light became steady and TV turned on properly with Blue & Yellow light on solid.

  • Toshiba Satellite L505D wont go into sleep mode. Freezes before power light blinks yellow.

When i try to put my laptop into sleep mode by closing the lid, it freezes before it enters sleep mode. i get a black screen when i pick the lid back up, and the power light stays green, instead of blinking yellow like its supposed to. Last time i remember it working properly was around June 6th, i took my laptop to my buddy's place so we could watch the new Halo 4 trailers and i know it worked properly on both the car ride over and the car ride home. anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

    Let's make some experiments.

  • Blinking Yellow after ISP Modem upgrade

I have an Airport/Time Capsule. Just moved & Time Warner upgraded my network modem/router. Now, Airport is blinking yellow, but still works as a WIFI router.  It's been 9 hours and I've rebooted a few times.
    What can I do?

reset the TC to factory and redo the setup.. for Yosemite here is the list of things which will give the most trouble free result..
Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the hard disk doing this.
    Factory reset universal
Power off the TC.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the TC to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
N.B. None of your files on the hard disk of the TC are deleted.. this simply clears out the router settings of the TC.
    Setup the TC again.
Then redo the setup from the computer with Yosemite.
    1. Use very short names.. NOT APPLE RECOMMENDED names. No spaces and pure alphanumerics.
eg TCgen5 for basestation and and TCwifi wireless name.
If the issue is wireless use TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels as this also seems to help stop the nonsense. But this can be tried in the second round. ie plan on a first and second round of changes to fix this.. hopefully.. I will point out other steps that can be round2.
    2. Use all passwords that also comply with 1. but can be a bit longer. ie 8-20 characters mixed case and numbers.. no non-alphanumerics.
    3. If the TC is main router you can skip this point. This is only an issue when the TC is bridged.
Ensure the TC always takes the same IP address.. you will need to do this on the main router using dhcp reservation.. or a bit more complex setup using static IP in the TC. But this is important.. having IP drift all over the place when Yosemite cannot remember its own name for 5 min after a reboot makes for poor networking.
    4. Check your share name on the computer is not changing.. make sure it also complies with the above.. short no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. but this change will mess up your TM backup.. so be prepared to do a new full backup. Sorry.. keep this one for second round if you want to avoid a new backup.
    5. Mount the TC disk in the computer manually.
In Finder, Go, Connect to server from the top menu,
Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever the TC ip is which you have now made static. As a router by default it is 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with that unless you know what you are doing).
You can use name.. SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your TC name.. local is the default domain of the TC and doesn't change.
However names are not so easy as IP address.. nor as reliable. At least not in Yosemite they aren't. The domain can also be an issue if you are not plugged or wireless directly to the TC.
    6. Make sure IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open the network preferences, wireless and advanced / TCP/IP.. and fix the IPv6. to link-local only. Do the same for ethernet if you use it.
There is a lot more jiggery pokery you can try but the above is a good start.. if you find it still unreliable.. don't be surprised.
You might need to do some more work on the computer itself. eg Reset the PRAM.. has helped some people. Clean install of the OS is also helpful if you upgrade installed.
    Tell us how you go.
Someone posted a solution.. See this thread.
Macbook can't find Time Capsule anymore
Start from the bottom and work up.. I have a list of good network practice changes but I have avoided Yosemites bug heaven.
Yosemite has serious DNS bug in the networking application.. here is the lets say more arcane method of fixing it by doing a network transplant from mavericks.
    http://arstechnica.com/apple/2015/01/why-dns-in-os-x-10-10-is-broken-and-what-yo u-can-do-to-fix-it/
You don't have to do it all.. or all at once.. but it is a good opportunity to fix potential problems..

I have a G5 Xserve running 10.5.3, on the back of the server there is a yellow LED that is flashing on the back of the machine. I have checked the server monitor nothing comes up. This means something is up with the server. Any ideas? The battery might be four years old, not sure if that would cause the issue.
    Please help me, PLEASE!!!

How do I clean up my new FIOS connection? I just cahnged ISP Fios and they reqquired a router of thier own in front of my AirPort Extreme. Since then I have blinking yellow light on the AirPort and AirPort utility keeps promting for an edit. Suggests canging from NAT to "Bridge mode". Obviuosly U have some internet or this post would not go anywhere, my knowledge base is not enought to feel comfortable with changing the settings. Correctly editing can be tricky, so how do I make necessary changes?

How do I clean up my new FIOS connection?
The FIOS router needs to be in Bridge Mode to prevent the Double NAT error from occurring when two routers are both fighting with each other for control of the network.
Unfortunately, the likely problem from the FIOS side is that FIOS support will either tell you that their router cannot be configured to operate in Bridge Mode, or if it can, they will not tell you how to do it.
But, it could not hurt to check with FIOS to see if anything might have changed recently in this regard, so your first call would be to FIOS support.
If you cannot change the FIOS router to Bridge Mode, the alternate plan would be to change the AirPort Extreme to Bridge Mode. If you are using the Guest Network feature on the AirPort Extreme at this time, that feature will not work correctly when the AirPort is set up in Bridge Mode.

If you are using the Lion or Mountain Lion operating system on your Mac.....
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the amber dot, and another window will appear to explain why the amber light is blinking
What is the message?  If everything seems to be normal, the message might indicate that an update is available for the AirPort Extreme.
If you are using the Leopard or Snow Leopard operating system on your Mac.....
Open AirPort Utility using the path above
Click on the AirPort Extreme, then click Manual Setup
Click directly on the word Status (2nd line on the summary page)

  • FP-AI-110 Blinking Ready Led

    Hey all,
I have purchased a second hand FP-AI-110.  I am trying to test the unit out by swapping it in place of another (active and working) FP-AI-110, but the new (to me) unit only blinks the READY Led when plugged in.  This is on an FP-1600 'network'.
Any thoughts?  Is there any special configuration that must be done to the module before use?  If so, how?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ian

    Hi IonH,
The modules are hot swappable and since you are swapping in the exact same model you shouldn't have to redo the configuration file. The blinking Ready LED indicates that there is an error condition so it could be that you have a bad module. To make sure it isn't a problem with the controller you can swap back in the original FP-AI-110 to ensure that it is still working, and if possible try the non working one on a different controller.

  • Have a blinking yellow light on airport express.  Reset... Still Blinking.  What do I do?

Airport Express has blinking yellow light.  Reset.  Still blinking yellow.  All other apple products, Apple TV, Mac's connecting fine to Airport Extreme.
Had to reset AE a few months ago and have not used this airport extreme since that. Suspect is a simple fix but not doing something right.  Anyone help?

A persistent, flashing amber light indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:
The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.
    (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305101)
If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation.

  • Sun Fire X2100  Blinking Status LED...

We have 3 new Sun Fire X2100 servers at my current job. Just recently the status LED (orange) started blinking. The logs show fine and running a prtdiag shows everything up and running fine. Is there a way to turn off the blinking LED? I have gone over every piece of information I can find and have found nothing about how to turn this off once it has started blinking.

This may be one of two issues:
    - There's a know ILOM/nge driver bug in eariler releases of S10 x86 (pre 6/06).
    - There's a know issue with an older firmware rev of the BIOS/LOM where the net management port hangs/drops out and triggers the blinking fault LED. Do you know what BIOS revision you are at?
Most times a mobo swap is NOT the fix. You may be making the problem worse because we have mobos in the supply chain with older firmware revisions.
On the X2100's I usually have my customers try:
    - Moving the RAM in different slots
    - Updating the BIOS/LOM firmware
    - Running the PC-Check diags
... before I send a field tech out to do major surgery.
