Toshiba N205's processor temp reaches 76 c

Hi,
I just bought my N205 yesterday.
I noticed that the processor temp of my N205 reaches 76c at full load and 50c at idle (measured using HWmonitor).
Is it normal? or something is wrong with my N205?
Thanks.

I don't know if it is normal, but it doesn't sound bad for a laptop.  If the heat gets too high, it should turn off to protect itself.  Just keep the vents clear and free.

    Hi Team
I need to create a recycle event when the IIS server processor load reaches about 90%, it would then need to recycle the IIS Applications Pool,
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

In addition to this, i know that this can be done by IIS but my boss wants it to be logged and managed by SCOM, thanks

  • Normal Graphics Processor Temp?

Using Hardware Monitor I noticed my graphic processor temp is ~66-68 degrees Celsius. Is that normal? I've been having issues with my computer crashing and the graphics screwing up and am trying to figure out if it's the card or the temperature that is screwing it up.
I've noticed my computer will run fine for a while and then after it's been on for a while it starts to screw up.
    Input?

It all depends on what you are doing at the time you are noting the temperature and what that is relevant to the temperature both at startup and during normal idle. The GPU is designed to run hotter than that.

  • While encoding in iDVD, my Processor 1GHZ reached 68°C/154°F .... yikes?

    Hello,
As stated, last night I encoded a video in iDVD. For the first time I used a temp monitor.
It was on a table so it had maximum ventilation. I do have a 120GB 5400RPM drive installed, I know that will contribute to the ambient heat.
But the processor never went above 68°C/154°F. Hard disc got to about 118°F.
Right now the processor is stable at 43°C/110°F.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    That's good to know.
I right now as I type, my processor is at 131° F or 54 °C.
One reason I ask this is because I just did a Superdrive upgrade to my PB. In doing so, one of the spring-screws on either side of the processor broke off of the mother board.
It didn't do any damage, but now the heat sink is has only one of the two spring screws holding it down near the processor chip.
I don't want to be operating under too hot temps and I need to know what is acceptable and common as a temp.
    Thanks,
    Dave

  • Core temp reaching 80deg

    Help,
Yesterday my machine reached 80deg core temp and crashed twice. apple hardware test seemed fine. can anyone help. im in an air conditioned room. any suggestions please.

yeah i check it cleaned out the dust. temp is something i check allot, because of previous machine and the load that goes on it. i was told by apple second level the temp should run at 45 - 60 degree c. otherwise it can damage the machine.

  • 770-c45 faulty processor temp reading

I just noticed, I was going to test some oc on my processor, and I saw that either on amd overdrive or cpuid hardware monitor have clearly wrong temp readings.
    amd overdrive temp:  -250C
    cpuid hardware monitor: 0c.
so yeah, any help would be awesome :D
    thanks!

what you mean "can be repair"? there is nothing to repair.
Eventually you shall look for newest version of those software, which can read the temp properly.

  • Random Heat Spike re Processor temp

    Hola amigos.
I was surfing the web, checking email on my ibook g4 12" 1.2 and the temp was roughly 50.5C. That's a little warmer than usual, but I didn't think anything of it, dispite the fact nothing else was running other than the regular processes in activity monitor. I felt drowsy, so I left Safari on, everything else was closed as far as apps, and took a nap. 20 minutes later I woke up to the 'whirrrrrrrrrr"ing of my fans. Checked the temp it was over 70C (169F I think it hit) with nothing running except safari sitting idle.
Any idea what may have caused that? I just finished running MacJanitor. Havn't ran it in a good two weeks, but I doubt logfiles would do that......
    Thanks for any suggestions/info/tips!
    -Daniel

The biggest source of heat is your processor, so when it's working hard that's when it will generate lots of heat. To see if it's working hard, open Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor and sort the list by cpu usage (click on the "% CPU" header). Whatever the application/process is that's making your cpu work so hard, you'll be able to see it listed there. Also, in the drop-down box at the top of the window, change it from "My Processes" to "All Processes".

  • Cannot see processor temps on macbook?

my original post was describing how istat wouldnt show my temperatures, now i downloaded temperature monitor and its only seein my hard drive sensor, should i be worried that i have sensors disconnected?

You have to have the Speedit kernel extention installed for external programs to read the temp sensors on the motherboard...the easiest way to do this is to download Core Duo Temp...the regular one, not the widget!
    http://macbricol.free.fr/coreduotemp/CoreDuoTemp.zip
...then install istat, Core Duo Temp widget or Temp Monitor...and run one of those...

  • Random Shutdowns and Processor Temps

Hi. Here recently my laptop has experienced "unexpected shutdowns" every so often. Not sure why, can't find anything wrong. Went through Event Logs, etc. I downloaded SpeedFan and it shows that  my processor cores are running around 55c and up. It shows these as 'hot' (the little flames beside the temperatures). My question is, about what temperature does a 1.6 ghz i7m run at in a laptop if all you are doing is some web browsing, etc maybe reading an ebook? If the proc is running hot then that's prob where my shutdown problems are coming.

Satellite L305D-S590 will overheat and shutdown while playing MAFIA WARS, or Poker, or any other game on Facebook in 10-15 minutes. The most popular social networking and gaming site going.  I use to play M.S.'s online muti-player game "Freelancer", and Ketsujin Studios massive-multi-player WW2 Dogfight simulation "FighterAce". Both games taxed this hardware much more than a template game such as Mafia Wars.
In order to use this Satellite now I have to elevate the rear of unit 3 1/2 inches and I bought a AC fan to pump air under it to keep it from shutting down.  I spent over $100.00 on cooling pads that either broke or did not cool unit enough. This unit performed fine from date of purchase on January 29th 2009 to about January 13th 2010. So any solution to this issue will gratefully be accepted.

  • Processor temp...

tell me please what is  optimal temperature for  the  athlon 2400+? My kt3 ultra2 shows 45-47, the new one k7n2 delta2 - 53-55... is this correct?

do you think that core center shows temperature like it really is?
Nope. But 1 way to make sure is to get CPU/SYS to normal operating temp, restart,go into bios and look at the temps.Exit bios and go to CC and compare them.I doubt within 2 min of boot time there would be more than 1 to 2 deg diffrenece. If it is off by more then a few deg, delete CC and download Speed Fan instead. On my system,CC was reporting temps that were 4deg lower then the BIOS.Speed Fan is "EXACT"
As Fred stated, good air flow and clean fans can make a difference.I have moded several cases from Pent to AMD and found the best success with cutting at least a intake hole in the side of the case to draw in cool air(try to locate it towards lower rear of the case just above AGP slot worked best for me).I always used 92mm case fans because the Hole-Saw(3-5/8th)=92mm that I have cuts through metal and plexi glass like butter   It makes the hole perfect for the 92mm fans.Nice and clean cuts. And running a 4700 RPM Tornado Fan(but any 92mm will be better then nothing)makes a nice temp drop(seen from 3 to 7 deg).Arctic sliver can lower the temps also on the CPU/HEATSYNC contact area.
I had an old metal case that I moded and installed 2x92mm fans.1 for a side intake and 1 blow-hole.Dropped the system temps around 10 deg and CPU about 7

  • I love macs and mac os but what hard ware is still getting maid by apple, the ata drives and ram are maid by companies like Samson and Toshiba and the processors are maid by intel. do apple still make the logic board or do they just focus on the case.

Firs of all i want to make it clear that i dont hate macs, i think they are the beast computers in the world. Im just wondering if apple are givving up making harware for them self,

    Hello,
I don't think Apple has actually "made" any hardware for years, they design it & have others build it.

  • Temps reached 100C on TMPIN1

I really don't know anything about hardware but from researching, I know that my motherboard shouldn't be this hot and this is the maximum temperature it can handle. When I run Starcraft 2 temperatures stay in the low to high 90s and when idle temperatures slowly rise. When I turned on the computer today my TMPIN1 temperature was at 48C and has risen to 80C in the past 30 minutes while only browsing the web. Not sure what specs are needed but I'm using an MSI x58A-GD65 with an i7 950. Cooling: Asetek 510LC Liquid Cooling System 120MM Radiator & Fan. If you need anymore specs I'll do my best to find them. Like I said I have no idea what I'm really doing. Windows has been crashing lately a lot and I'm hoping that if the two are correlated, that this issue can be solved. Thank you

Your IOH is too hot. Here are two suggestions, first is to add a fan aimed towards the IOH to help cool it down. An Antec Spot Cool works well for this. The second is more involved with the removal of the IOH heatsink & replacing the TIM with AS5 or MX-2 or -4 or any high quality TIM. Adding a #4-40 nylon washer between the board & the spring & bolt can add a little more contact tension & still adding an auxilliary fan would be beneficial. This is not an uncommon occurance when the stock CPU cooler is not used. It provided the necessary passive air flow to help keep the surrounding components cooled.
IOH problems are more related to potential data loss or corruption more so than system crashes. Any BSOD's? RAM issues along with CPU V. or DRAM V. being set too low can also cause system crashes. That is why it is important to list 'all' of your systems components.

  • What TEMP is the HD reaching when these things get hot?

I read on another page that powerbook fans didn't kick on until the temp reached 141. I believe the top operating temp for the harddrive is 131. Hs there been a history of HD failure in powerbooks? Is the same senario taking place in the macbook?
I am concerned because I plan to swap my HD and I don't think it will be covered by the warranty if it fails.
    Thanks Kalel
