Toshiba PA3542U Dynadock with Windows 7 64 bit

Hi,
Can someone here confirm whether Toshiba PA3542U-2PRP Dynadock will work with Windows 7 64 bit or not? This will be great help because I am planning to buy this and I have Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop. It is Toshiba Satellite Pro U500 18 J.

Unfortunately, you have probably wiped out the Toshiba Recovery partition on your HDD when you used the Windows 7 64bit retail disk to reinstall your OS. As well, it sounds like you never made a set of Toshiba Recovery disks before this mishap. The info for all this begins on page 61 of your Satellite M640 Series User’s Guide.
Using the recovery utility would have rebuilt your HDD to its factory default out-of-the-box state, including the recovery partition, Win 7 64bit, all Toshiba drivers and utilities, and all software your system originally came with. If you do not think you wiped out the recovery partition when you reinstalled Windows, then while powering on the system you could try holding down the '0' (zero) key until you see the Toshiba Recovery utility menu. If none of the above works, you can still order a set of recovery media from Toshiba, which I would strongly recommend. Rebuilding the recovery partition, and having a set of recovery disks for backup, could save you a lot of grief on this, and on any future rebuilds.

Adobe PDF Printer not working as print driver; 9.5.5 (pro) with Windows 7, 64 bit

I have installed, repaired, uninstalled and re-installed Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 on a newly formatted SSD with Windows 7, 64 bit on my desktop machine. The program was installed from Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 and updated within the program. I have the program also installed on my laptop, and the Adobe PDF Printer driver is working properly on my laptop.
On my desktop with the newly formatted SSD, the Adobe PDF printer driver is not working. Note that I am using the printer driver, and not any pdf creation techniques within MS Office or other programs.
When I go to the Adobe PDF printing preferences on my desktop, I only get a generic, two tab window open. When I print a file to this printer on my desktop machine, I do not get a window opening that asks where to create the pdf or what to name it, and I never see any files created. In MS Word, the Create PDF option under the Acrobat tab works and opens a dialog to ask the name and location to save, and then opens a PDF Maker progress window and properly creates the file. I can also save a file as an .eps or .ps file and use Distiller to create the pdf. However I cannot get the Adobe PDF printer driver in my Devices and Printers to work properly, although it works just fine on my laptop with the same program (Pro 9.5.5) and same Windows version (7, 64 bit).
Repairing, uninstalling and re-installing does not solve the problem. Acrotray.exe *32 process is running. Any ideas on why this won't run properly on my desktop, but will run on a similarly configured laptop?

Try this to add Adobe PDF printer manually on Windows 7, and Windows Vista.
If windows 7 is Enterprise or better edition: (Admin rights required)
Start>search for printmanagement.msc and open the print management module
Expand the print server and expand the computer name to see availbale printers, drivers and printer ports.
- from printers ensure there's no Adobe PDF printer, if there is delete it
- go to ports and delete the PDF ports (the ones ending in *.pdf)
- go to drivers and delete the PDF converter.
Take note if any errors occur, but continue with the following steps regardless.
If on windows 7 home edition, just goto start>Devices and Printers and ensure PDF pritner is not listed.
Then open the registry (if any erors deleting these keys happen, see below)
1: go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers
delete any adobe PDF printer subkey present
2: go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
delee the PDF port monitor if present
3: go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers
again delete and pdf printer subkey
If any erros occur, you need to set the owner of the key to the currently logged in admin user, then ensure that user has full control.
Do this by right-click the key and selecting permissions, clicking on advanced, then the owner tab.
Once you've all that has been done, open a command line as administrator.
Copy and pate the following commands in order
1: net stop spooler
2: rundll32.exe setupapi.dll,InstallHinfSection AdobePDFPortMonitor 128 C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AdobePDF.inf
3: net start spooler
4:rundll32.exe printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /if /b "Adobe PDF" /f "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AdobePDF.inf" /r "Documents\*.pdf" /m "Adobe PDF Converter"
That should set back the pdf printer.
This seemed to provide the link that provided the Adobe PDF Settings tab to the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences that was missing!

Flash player 11.0.1.152 installation problem with Windows Vista 64-Bit

Hello,
I just can't get Flash Player to install on my computer with Windows Vista 64-Bit - doesnt matter if I try with Firefox, Opera or IE (I usually use Firefox).
The download isn't a problem, but when I start the downloaded .exe, this file just disappears from my download folder and nothing happens - besides starting a process called install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih_3.exe, which does nothing. The usual installation popup never appears. After that I can't try starting the installation again, until disabling the process via task manager ("Only a single instance of this application may run"). Doesn't matter if I try the download and installation with or without "McAffe Security Plus" btw - same result.
I never had such a problem before - Flash Player 10.3 was and is no problem to install and use.
I have tried all the measures suggested in the troubleshooting section on the official site, including the advanced troubleshooting measures (uninstall old version, run as administrator, disabling software firewalls, disabling virus scanner etc.). Nothing helps.
I don't got those problems with my laptop running Windows 7 - just my desktop computer with Vista 64-Bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a sony laptop with windows 7 (64 bit) which I upgraded to windows 8 64 bit. But the machine had to be formatted and this time loaded windows 8 32 bit. Now I have tried itunes for 32bit win 8 as well as for 64bit win 8 but none is getting installed

The message I get is, "this programme is not compatible for your pc" (or words to that affect since I dont remember the exact words but this is the meaning).

I am using Windows 7 and when i went to load software for my docking station, HP FQ834UT USB Universal Docking Station, it said it couldn't use the driver. Is there a software upgrade to allow this driver to work on a HP laptop with Windows 7 64 bit operating system?

I have the same issue - I have it installed on my Windows 7 64-bit machine and although it is running, it doesn't work. I am sitting here in Starbucks, which has a Verizon Wifi hotspot (actually Boingo - which is what Verizon Wi-Fi uses) and the "Connect" box does not appear. I had the same issue at an airport recently. It's one of the worse pieces of software I have had the misfortune to use. When it fails to connect, it causes the Wifi connection to drop (incompatibility with Lenovo Access Connections, maybe). I don't think that Verizon understands the meaning of "QA" and "Software Testing".

The Photosmart 7960 Photo Printer does not have full support in Windows 7. There is no driver available to download on the hp site, but instead there is a limited driver built into the Windows 7 operating system. What this means is that basic print functionality will work for your product in Windows 7, but you might lose some other functionalities. I have used the HP Laserjet p2015d with Windows 7 32 bit operating system and have been able to use the AUTOMATIC DUPLEX feature of the printer without problems.
Now, however, I have installed the 64 bit version of Windows 7 operating system and the AUTO DUPLEX does not work and is not shown as being available on the PROPERTIES menu of the printer.
Is it possible to use the AUTO DUPLEX feature of the printer with Windows 7 64 bit operating system.

Hi Aaron,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled:
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.
Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

The product you have seems to be a commercial printer. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

I have been using bootcamp for months now with windows 7 64 bit, and its been fine, yesterday while I was rebooting to do some gaming, at the hard drive selection screen when you boot holding the "options" butting down, it locks up when I select the windows drive and just sits there for ever. It doesn't throw an error, it boots fine into Lion.
I searched all morning and didn't find anything, was hoping that someone might have an idea.

We bought a new pc with Windows Vista 64 bit - but are now having problems using my Photoshop Elements6 and Premiere Elements 4 with our new pc. it says on the box and on the web - that it is compatible with Vista - so why isn't it working for us? Do i need to buy something else - and if so what?

I am not sure completely about Photoshop Elements - but my main issue is with Premiere Elements....i need to find a program that will work so i can work with all my videos. Trying to find out why it doesn't work or how to get it to work.

Nothing in the Acrobat 8.x product family is compatible with Windows 7 (or any contemporary OS).
The Acrobat 8.x product family passed into End of Support way back -- (November 2011).
The current release of Acrobat (XI) is compatible in Windows 7.

Extigy with Windows 7 64 bit

I've got a SB Extigy which has served me just awesome for years and years now. ?I recently upgraded to a better computer with Windows 7 64 bit, and have found that the driver CD which came with the card will no longer install on this OS. ?Windows will recognize it; the rear stereo out and the headphone out are acti've (both at the same time!) however the volume control knob no longer works, the remote doesn't work (I mainly use it just for volume) but most importantly the MIDI ports don't work. ?I use this computer to make music, so I really need to get the MIDI ports operational or get a new card. ?Since this card has been working so beautifully for so long, I don't want to switch unless I absolutely have to. ?I have tried running the CD install in compatibility mode for XP/2000 but no dice. ?I found [url="http://forums.creative.com/t5/Windows-7/Extigy-Drivers-for-Windows-7/m-p/54202" rel="nofollow">another thread[/url] on here where this guy seemed to get it to work, but didn't really leave instructions as to how. ?He gave[url="http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=93720" rel="nofollow"> this link [/url]to download the drivers, but there is no exe in there.... how can I install these drivers without the installerI went to the device manager and tried to do an update driver with the source pointed to these files, but I informs me I currently have the most up to date driver already installed.
