Toshiba Portege M500 sound device not Installed

Dear All, I Have a trouble with my toshiba protege M500. After i am turning back to the factory install then the sound did'nt work. I try to install hardware detection software buat all off them said that the 'Sound Hardware not Installed'. What i have to do to solve this problem ? Any body have a tutorial or suggestion for this matter ? I want to see the board but i didn't know how to dissambling this Portege M500. Regards, Tpk99

Try to install everest software. You can find it at download.com . Once downloading it will give you a report of what kind of sound device you have and a link to download the latest driver( probably it will be from toshiba web site).

IPhone 4 / Bluetooth / Windows 7 / Peripheral Device not installed?

I am unable to install my iphone 4 to the new laptop I have, OS Windows 7. The devices pair fine and recognize each other, I just keep receiving error messages when the driver automatically installs. It reads "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" not installed. Any solutions???

I realise this is an old topic, but it seems everyone has the wrong band-aid fix.
The correct fix is as follows:
The issue is that Windows doesn't recognise the iPhone as a Bluetooth Peripheral Device and cannot find the correct driver to download and install.
Follow the following steps:
- First, you need to install the appropriate 'Windows Mobile Device Support' software for your version of windows (32 and 64 bit versions have different files to download). It may look like it didn't install in Windows 7, but that's ok. It did.
- Turn on the bluetooth discovery mode on the iPhone.
- Select 'Add a Device' in Devices and Printers, follow the instructions to connect and enter the 8 or 9 digit key into your iPhone.
- Your iPhone should be found and automatically install all the software and drivers except for the Bluetooth Peripheral Device driver.
- In Devices and Printers, right click the iPhone, select properties, and then the hardware tab.
- The first device function should be 'HID-compliant consumer control device. Ensure it's selected.
- Select Properties, and in the next window select 'update driver'
- Select 'Browse my computer for driver software'
- Select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the left hand side listing
- In the next window, select 'Microsoft Corporation' on the left, and 'Windows Mobile-based Device support' from the right side.
- Install this option, clicking through the warnings and accepting this option.
- Now you have the device driver installed, and your iPhone will be connected via Bluetooth when you need to pair it - great for file transfers and internet access without turning the radio on.
I hope this helps. This is the proper fix. Not the 'pressing two keys at the same time' or unchecking the option that only allows some features to be used.

Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.

Qosmio F10 display and sound drivers not installing

Hi, my hard drive went and on replacement we used the toshiba recovery disk.
We have installed the Intel Chip Software and then NVIDIA driver. It says its installed but makes no difference after restarting computer. The sound driver starts to install and then says driver not found. We have downloaded new drivers and keep getting the same results.
The operating system is XP home. Any advice is apperciated.

Which difference should it make? After driver installation your computer will boot in the same way as before so I dont know which difference you expect after driver installation.
As Akuma wrote normally after using the recovery disk, all drivers and tools are preinstalled. Do you have yellow exclamation marks in device manager?

Toshiba Portege Problem: *Battery is not charging and web camera initialization failed.*

I am having problems with my Toshiba Portege laptop. 1) Once laptop opens, window appears which says, "Web camera initialization failed. Please check your camera device and restart application or computer." Not sure what happened why the web cam application did not run properly. 2) Battery won't charge. When clicking the battery icon, it just says, "0% available plugged in, charging." I can not open my laptop when the cord is unplugged.

an autostart process requests the camera, maybe Skype?
some web cams on USB ports do take some time
been initialised especially when attached via hub.
Windows boot sequences do not wait until they finished.
if the camera is working after a while than thats here the
case despite that message and it can be ignored.

forget the software symbol for the purpose of the question -
on any notebook you should see a battery symbol/LED
somewhere on the case. its yellowish/orange when
charging green when battery is full. if it doesn't change into green
(overnight charging) the battery is faulty or even missing...

My speakers are plugged into the correct port, the light for them is on but it says the drivers for this device are not installed, I click reinstall driver and it doesnt work, I bought this thing called Driver Genius and I did what I could, I didnt really understand much but I did what the directions told me, still didnt work! can anyone help me. Also, try taking a look at this HP Support video and document on fixing sound problems. Chances are one of the steps described will fix the problem.

HT201401 MTP USB Device not installed

Hello -
I'm new to this community message board.
I recently started having this problem about two months ago. Up til that time I didn't have this problem.
When I would connect my iPhone 4S to my windows 7 computer, the folder files would pop up and ask if I wanted to open the files from the iPhone connection through the USB port that I have always used.
It started two months ago, that when I connected my iPhone in the same way that I have always connected through the USB port, that instead Windows would recognize the connection but attempt to install the drivers. A message always comes up saying that Windows can not install the MTP USB Device because It can not load the drivers for this device and Code 31.
I've searched the web for solutions but have not found any that fix this problem. These are troubleshooting things that I have tried:
I have downloaded and installed the lastest iTunes application.
I have upgraded the iPhone to the lastest IOS
I have reset the iPhone, then reconnected to USB port on computer
I have connected the iPhone to another USB port on my computer
I have selected an earlier Windows System Restore point at a time before this problem existed and restored my computer
I have used the Windows 7 installation disk to repair the Windows Operating System
I have uninstalled the drivers for the iPhone in Device Manager, restarted the computer and then connected the iPhone and USB cable to the computer.
I have used another USB Cable to connect the iPhone to the computer.
I have looked in Control Panel under Devices - the Apple Mobil Device Driver is displayed with no problems. However the iPhone is displayed with a triangle and an exclamation mark in the triangle.
I have viewed Device Manager in Windows 7 and looked in these categories: Universeral Serial Bus Controller - everything is okay, no triangles with exlamation marks in them or any other markings on any of the Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Controllers. The Category in Device Manager called Human Interface Devices also looks okay.
In Device Manager the category Portable Devices lists H:\, MTP USB Device, WPD File System Device Driver all have the small yellow triangle with the exclamation mark in the triangle. When I double click to open these devices up in Device Manager they all say the device is not working properly because windows can not load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31).
Windows 7 still does not recognize the iPhone as it use to do with the open file window that pops-up when the iPhone is connected to computer. Windows shows these drivers for the iPhone on my computer and these show up in the properties of the MTP USB Device - which is what Windows 7 calls the iPhone connection.

I had the same iss - it's a known issue whereby Windows attempts to use the wrong driver to access the phone.
BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY!!! Editing the registry can be (read: IS) dangerous and can cause no end of pain if done incorrectly.(But dont wort..i did it...)
- To Back Up your Registry: Click Start menu and click "Run". Type "regedit". Click File, then choose export and type "iphone driver fix registry backup".
- Click Export and let it export the the registry to a file.
- To fix the issue: Follow the folder tree on the left to: hkeylocalmachine > system > current control set > control > class
- Find “{EEC5AD98-8080-425F-922A-DABF3DE3F69A}” down the LEFT hand side and click on it.
- Under the list on the RIGHT hand side find "UpperFilters"
- Right-Click UpperFilters and click delete
- Close the registry editor and restart your PC (without the iphone attached).
- Once restarted and logged back in, plug in your iphone and voila! Windows will actually choose the correct driver and you'll be in like flynn.

Client Security Solution error - Device not installed

After the latest update, the TV Fingerprint Software version 5.9.5.7038 was installed. Since then, the fingerprint scanner works well to start up, but if I open an Internet Explorer page which is password protected, instead of the scanner coming up, I get this message:
"The requested operation requires fingerprint authentication, but the device is not installed. Please make sure the device is connected and retry the operation."
Is there a fix for this? If not, is there a way to roll back to the previous version of the fingerprint software? Everything worked perfectly until this update.

OS Update/Connection to PC fails/ says device not installed properly???

I connected my Playbook to my computer after the most recent OS update to back it up. Windows 7 ticked along and then said it could not install the device properly. Now with the Playbook connected I cannot get the Blackberry Desktop Software to work because the Playbook is not installed correctly.
I went to the Device section in the control panel when the Playbook was connected and it indicates a RIM Network Device but doesn't let me delete to have it reset or whatever and when I troubleshoot it it says the device is working properly. But obviously it isn't. The RIM Network Device disappears when I disconnect the Playbook so I can't delete the device that way either.
In addtion, in the past when I connected the Playbook, I got a drive designation for it. This time I don't.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Toshiba DVR20KB shows USB device not recognised

Hi,
We have a DVR20KB, which shows, when turning on USB Device not recognised error message on the screen, and there is no USB plugged in to the machine. We have already replace the DVD Drive and the board for the fault of not recognising disc but the problem of the USB error message coming up on the screen still remains, we tried disconnecting the USB board from the front but the message still comes up on the screen.
Any help would be much appreciated..

Sound blaster not installing correc

I just installed a new X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro. It seemed to install smoothly, no error, windows lists it as functioning, and?I even have sound (though it only comes out of my front speakers, Not sure if thats related)?However Creative's software keeps saying "no supported device found". I have tried using the drivers on the CD, the auto updater, and the old and new drivers listed on creative's site. Nothing has fixed it. The odd thing is that without me touching the connections the sound sometimes only comes out of the back speakers and sometimes only comes out of the front (never both at the same time).
My old PC had a Creative card and it ran fine in both XP and Vista (except for that DirectX sound issue). This card appears to use the same drivers, the only difference is that I am using a 64 bit OS now.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium x64 SP.

Bootcamp Problems - Sound Device Not Detected

I have installed Windows Bootcamp on my Imac8 and everything seems to work perfectly except for the sound. I do not know why it is not working because I have installed Windows XP with Service Pack 3 upgrade and I used the Mac OS X Install Disk 1, which came with my computer to install all the necessary drivers. The sound used to work perfectly a few days ago and I don't know what's wrong.
This is the second time I've partitioned my drive (after transferring and wiping out my first partitioned drive) and the first time I partitioned my drive, the sound worked decently. I've ran the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 over 5 or 6 times and when I install the drivers, the setup installs the Realtek and IDT SigmaTel Drivers. After that didn't give me any sound bar or allow Bootcamp to detect my sound card, I tried installing the RealTek and SigmaTel Drivers separately by opening the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 to browse the different setups and still, nothing. Sound works on the Mac side, but the Windows side is severely lacking. Someone please help me!!

Nevermind, I found out the solution and now my sound works! If anyone has problems with the SP3 on the XP Bootcamp, goto: http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=490 and follow the instructions. Victory!
