Toshiba Radius P55W-B5220 Wifi Driver

Hello Everyone, After updating to Windows 10, the Wifi driver was working properly and I navigated and the system was slightly faster over Windows 8.1. After the next reboot, the driver stopped working and the network center said that the adapter was turned off. After investigating, apparently there needs to be an updated driver for Windows 10 in the 18.11.0.x range. Toshiba doesn't provide it yet apparently.
Looking at this link: http://win10upgrade.toshiba.com/swupdate/modellist.aspx?region=TAIS&lang=en&country=US It shows Satellite Radius P50W-B (PSVP2)‎ which is able to be updated. Does this cover the P55W version as well? I'm sure it does as the first few letters of my P/N is PSVP2. Already spoke to support, no avail. I would like to see if anyone can confirm it. I guess we're waiting on Intel to release the updated drivers.  The wireless card is the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. Anyone had luck?

Yes. In fact if you put the whole part number (PSVP2U-003004) in here, you'll come to a page that lists new software for Windows 10.
It also says "Your selected Toshiba PC is supported for upgrade to Windows 10. Now all of the software for the upgrade is available." There are seven items listed, but there is no new WiFi driver.
I take that to mean the old driver for Windows 8.1 should work. What does it have in Device Manager for Device status of the Wireless-AC 7260?

  • Toshiba Radius P55W Rubber Feet

    Hi,
I am looking to purchase rubber feet for Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W. I could not find them anywhere on internet.
Please let me know if someone finds it.

If no one locates them for you. Call or go to your local PC repair shop, they should have old - bad laptops that they will sell parts from. I made some from rubber, cut to fit and then used superglue to attach to the laptop bottom.

  • Compare toshiba Satellite S55-B5289 with Satellite Radius P55W-B5224; which better

can someone make a comparison of these 2 laptops?    one has a i7-4710HQ processor that is supposed to be better than the i7-4510U processor but the later is laptop is supposed to be a high end better laptop??
    is the S55 a 780 p laptop and the P55W a 1080 p laptop?

    Satellite S55-B5289
    Satellite Radius P55W-B5224
    See specs above.
Yes, the Radius screen is 1080p and also has IPS. And it has a volume up/down button. backlit keyboard, and all 3 USB  ports are USB 3.0.
The Radius is missing an Ethernet port. Also, there is a problem that has not yet been resolved regarding its Intel Wireless-N 7260 card. Search this forum and you'll find many have difficulty with connection speed.
I wouldn't consider the difference in processors to matter.

  • Satellite C650D-113 - WiFi driver not working on Windows XP

The wifi-driver downloadable from Toshibas site is not working it seems, it installs as if it's all correct, removing the yellow exclamation mark from the device manage. But the "wireless network connection" icon that is supposed to appear in the network connections folder does not appear and this is where I am stuck.
Or maybe it wasnt the driver, downloaded and installed the wireless lan client manager because there were no specific "wifi driver" to download.

Yep, checked the fn+f8 before posting, and it's on. A new problem has arisen now aswell, the audio driver won't install with the message "ERROR: driver installation failed: could not find the MEDIA device for this driver." What gives?
Edit: Allright, the driver from the link given worked, awesome, thanks! Only sound left that needs to work and I'm set. :)

  • Satellite Radius P55W-B112 headphones not working

I just purchased a Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W-B112 and I have noticed that whenever I plug in ANY set of headphones the audio plays fine for about 4 to 5 seconds and then it goes crazy and I get incredible interverence, cracking and buzzing. I am wondering if this can be solved via some software update or if it is hardware related and I need to get it serviced. PLEASE HELP

I bought a Satellite S55t-B5260 around Jan 2015.  It has worked fine since I've had it.  Several months ago I upgraded to the Windows 10 Preview edition.  Everything still worked.  All of a sudden about a week ago I noticed my external speakers wouldn't work when pluggd in.  The laptop speakers work fine.  When I plug in external speakers (or even my headphones) the sound comes through and sounds normal for about 2-3 seconds, then drops to a low volume for 1-2 seconds, then turns into static/popping sounds only.  If I unplug and plug them right back in, the same thing happens... works a few seconds normally, then doesn't.  Not sure if it has to do with a recent Windows 10 upgrade or if it's a problem with the speaker jack.

  • Satellite Radius P55W has an annoyingly loud fan!?!?!

I’ve had the Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W B5318 (SSD version) for less than a week and love its performance, its very fast, light and the folding screen is awesome. I discovered that the wi-fi on it is inferior, but that’s still acceptable for me, as is the small SDD size (256 GB). What I didn’t expect is the hardware design flaw in these machines, that being the fan. It turns on and off quite frequently at random times, is loud, and the worst part is it may turn on for 45 seconds and then off and it will make a sputtering noise at both ends. Its very distracting and annoying and is a deal breaker so I have to call this laptop a fail and bring it back to Best Buy and get a Lenovo Yoga and leave a bunch of reviews every where to warn people about this laptop. It’s a shame because I really want to keep it and even looked to see if there was any software that will either turn off the fan or slow it down, but there doesn’t exist any for this computer (Speedfan doesn’t support this motherboard apparently). And I cannot get into the BIOS either to adjust the fan’s power function so I don’t really have a recourse. Toshiba, why did you have to include this annoying fan and then not give us the option to control/turn it off? Do any of you find that the fan turns on a lot to the point of being annoying? Audio90

Hello I just bought the Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W with an i7 processor today. There are many things about it that I liked, which is why I bought it.. bought I did notice right away, that the fan does intermittently turn on and off, even when I am not doing anything, or running any programs. It's funny, because I returned a brand new Dell, and got this Toshiba, exactly because the other brand new laptop was doing the same thing! The noise of the fan is not that loud. But I could see it getting bothersome. Plus, my concern is, why is it doing it? And what happens when I begin running Photoshop and many other programs at the same time? Anyway, to anyone with the same or simiar issue, try doing this... the USB port on the left side, right next to the AC adapter plug-in... use it for either a wireless mouse or wireless keyboard. I plugged in a wireless mouse receiver into that port, and as strange as it may sound... the fan problem has gone away for now. I have a couple technical theories as to why this would make a difference.. but I won't share my guesses.. until I know for sure this is a workaround. I would love to hear from anyone who is having a similar fan issue. Except for this problem, I really love this laptop so far. And if possible, don't want to return it, and look for another one with similar specs and performance levels. LaptopFiend (J.M.)

  • Possible to view presentations with embedded clips  on the ipad from an external wifi  drive?

    Hello,
first of all I am happy to have joined this community, my name is Chris from Germany.
I am wondering if this setting is possible:
I have bought an external wifi drive (Seagate Satellite Goflex) as well as the iPad4.
I am giving lectures (powerpoint and keynote presentations containing lots of embedded video clips).
Now I would like to show these presentations with my iPad connected to the Wifi drive.
You have to download a special Seagate App on the iPad to be able to see the data on the external wifi drive - I have managed to open the powerpoint files in the App (unfortunately keynote files are not supported by the Seagate App) but when I open them with keynote or goodreader the embedded media will always be removed.
Is this the end of the story or are there any solutions (i.e. with other hardware devices or software)?
Have a nice New Years Eve and thanks in advance,
    Chris

    yes and no ...
    I have figured that out:
First of all: you can`t just view presentations on an external device without importing them into your iPad (at least when you plan to show slides with embedded clips) - goodreader, filebrowser, dropbox ... just show you "static" slides.
When you import a ppt-presentation into keynote all the hyperlinks, embedded clips ... are gone - no chance.
But ... in keynote you are able to "embed" video clips when you drag and drop them directly into the slide alowing "copy video into the document" as well (that is "vital") - the files are getting larger but you don`t have to add a clip when you transfer it to another device (i.e. the iPad) - they are "fixed" in the document..
Now seagate goflex has the problem that you just can`t open/view keynote presentations - but there is a solution:
hacksatellite firmware. When you install that you can go into keynote, activate WebDav, import a keynote file from the external drive, edit it and send it back to the external drive - so: import (can`t live without that), show or edit the presentation, copy it again to the external device and delete the presentation in the iPad (to save storage) is the way you can get the optimum from the iPad at the moment.
Correct me if there is any other more comfortable solution.
    Thanks for your reply Daniel,
    Christian

  • Windows Vista Tip - Updating Drivers, all you really need is a network or wifi driver

So just what do I mean by this? Often times, on Windows Update, Drivers are already available for your device, so why not just install a NIC or WiFi driver and let Windows Update take care of the rest of the dirty work? You have to update your computer anyway so why not.
Worth a try and much easier then searching left and right for those drivers.

Sometimes the WHQL-certified drivers are not nearly as good as updated non-WHQL drivers.  (WHQL certification means very little IMO...)  Windows Update only provides WHQL-certified drivers, and in my experience (especially with regards to laptop video) doesn't even find the latest WHQL revision.
I don't think I've ever received an up-to-date driver from Windows Update - it is in my experience consistently out of date by a significant period of time compared to getting the latest drivers from the device vendor.

  • HP Mini WIFI driver

I got a HP Mini running windows 7 starter, in order to connect to the internal newtork we needed to upgrade to Windows 7 proffesional 32 bit. this worked fine except that the wifi driver was missing which is normal in VLSC instatlion of windows and normaly this can be fixed by downloading the driver from the manufacters website.
After downloading the driver that was suggested as well as many others it still did not show the wifi bars but only the ethernet symbol with a cross showing no internte connection at all.
I then connected a 3g dongle and went into the device manager and the wifi driver was shown as other so right clicked and clicked scan for hardware changes and this then dowloaded a wifi driver but said it was unable to dowload ethernet driver.
it now shows the wifi bars symbol with a cross to show no avalbale networks but there is 11 diffrent wifi connection in the area within range including a open bt wifi hotspot and it will not recognise any of them.
I then tried a wirless wifi adaper which works fine on many dekstops that i have used it on but when i pluged it into the laptop it said driver instaltion failed.
I have ordered another wifi adapeter just incase but i suspect it will do the same thing as the adapeter definetly works
any advice as to how to get wifi on this machine is much needed. - I also only have 3 days to activate windows and this needes internet to do so and i do not really want to use the dongle if it can be helped. However the laptop is useless without wifi.
The laptop was given to us as a old laptop that was no longer used and is well out of HP customer support warrenty.
if anyone has any drivers that they think can help please email them to me at [email protected]

    hi erabbath,
    Welcome to the Forums.
If you have the Intel Centrino N2230 Wireless + Bluetooth adapter, can you try to:
    1. Navigate to the Control Panel (large icon view) > Devices and Printers and try to pair a bluetooth device (i.e. Bluetooth Headset) and observe if it gets detected under the device list.
    2. If the Bluetooth Headset is listed but it's not working try toright click on it > choose Properties. On the bluetooth properties Window, go to the Services Tab and check all the appropriate bluetooth services.

    Hi Slape84,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the Wireless driver is not getting installed in your G580 laptop after re-installing OS (Operating System), I suggest you to check if the Wireless is enabled in BIOS first then try to install the drivers. Below is the steps to access BIOS and check if the Wireless is enabled or not:
To enter BIOS setup utility, press F2 when the Lenovo logo appears on the screen while the computer is starting up.
NOTE: To check how the BIOS menu looks and to explore its options click here.
Now select “Configuration” Tab and enable the “Wireless LAN Support” by clicking on Enter Key when you are on the option.
Then Click on “F10” Key and then YES to save the changes that are done in BIOS, the computer will automatically restart.
Now check installing the Wireless driver in the computer, but and while installing while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error.
NOTE: Please click on "Select Product" then in "QUICK PATH" enter the model no. as G580 select the exact model.

Do post us back if the issue still persists.

  • T540p battery drain in S4 state after Bios and Intel Wifi driver update

    Hey Guys,
on my T540p, I configured the rapid start technology according to
    http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/rapid_start_technology_user_guide.pdf
Since I have performed a BIOS update to 2.14  and an update of the Intel Wifi driver to 17.0.5, I experience the problem of battery drain when the computer is in S4 sleep state, at a rate of approximately 0.125% per hour (on the 56Wh battery).
This was not the case before these updates. There was no noticable power drain in S4 sleep state, even not over multiple days.
I'm using Win7, I set all the WoL capabilities both in BIOS and in the Intel driver to disabled, according to
    https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/Battery-drain-when-powered-down-Y410P/td-p...
External device USB charge settings are also fully disabled in BIOS and Power Manager. The problem does not occur when the system is fully shut down, but in S4 Sleep state, which should be a zero-power state too, as it was before the updates. In the details of the BIOS update it is stated " Fixed an issue where the computer might fail to enter sleep state". Could the power drain be a side effect of this fix? Or is it an issue with the (new) Wifi driver, as it was the case for the Y410P?
How could this battery drain be avoided? Has anybody experienced the same issue?
    Best,
    Martin
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    mka1284,
you could check out devices that might resume laptop from the sleep modes and disable them. Type in the following command in the cmd line window:
    powercfg -devicequery wake_armed
Also the following command will show you report about power management. Open cmd window with administrative rights and type in:
    powercfg -energy.
