Toshiba registration reminder keeps popping up at startup

Hi,
I registered my Portege laptop some time ago. Nevertheless the toshiba registration reminder keeps popping up at each startup of the computer and trying to find a solution.
How can I switch off this reminder?
The registration reminder program is not in the program startup list so I don't know where to find it.
many thanks!

Hey,
You can disable the Toshiba registration tool using msconfig. Just navigate to start > run > msconfig. Choose the last tab called startup and check the listed services. You should find a service that starts Toshiba registration tool after Windows started. Just uncheck this and restart your unit.
Now the Toshiba registration shouldnt start anymore. :)

  • "Get connected" window keeps popping up on startup...

    Hi all,
Since a while now I'm faced with this little nuisance. Everytime I start up my PC I get this message asking to connect a mobile device. My nokia is already connected just fine via blue tooth. Nomatter if I go through the options and add it again or if I just close the window, it keeps popping up at the start up.
    Any thoughs about this issue?
    I'm using the following software:
    Windows XP Home SP3
    Nokia PC Suite 7.1.30.9
    EEE PC 1000HE
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Ah, I think I figured it out.
When Nokia PC Suite starts up at the system start up, my laptop doesn't have the bluetooth service available yet - so the PC Suite isn't connected to a phone yet - hence the pop up.
If however I start up the Nokia PC Suite with a delay (a batch file with an artificial delay for instance) then bluetooth IS available and Nokia PC suite connects automatically and no longer pops up the "Get Connected" window.
    Yay!
Thanks for your comment, it helped steer me in the correct direction.

  • A reminder to update "Growl" keeps popping up but cannot find on Apple site.

A reminder to update "Growl" keeps popping up but cannot find on Apple site.

It is probably the app itself that is giving you the update notice.  You must have installed it at some point in the past, maybe accidentally.  I had the same thing happen a while back. Unfortunately I don't recall what I did to get rid it.

  • Toshiba notebook registration reminder has stopped working

    Hi
everytime I open my laptop it shows "Toshiba notebook registration reminder has stopped working"
    How can I fix that?

    Hello
Do you need the registration reminder? I dont think so if you have already registered your notebook
Easiest way is you disable the program from start up Navigate to start > run > msconfig and select start up tab. Then search for registration reminder and uncheck the box.
Afte restarting the computer it shouldnt appear anymore. Can you confirm this?

  • A box keeps popping up saying "Your Mac OS X startup disk has no more space available for application memory."

Under that is says, "To avoid problems with your computer, quit any applications you are not using. Closing windows and removing files from your startusp disk will also help." In the area where it shows what applications/files are running, it only shows Safari and Finder. I have tried quitting Safari and restarting Finder like it says but the box just keeps popping up every time I restart Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc. I have read into this problem a little by searching the question and I have gone into my activity monitor based on others responeses to this question, but i don't understand what the activity monitor is saying or what to do within that program. I'm not very good on computers, so specific, step-by-step help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Not really. Photoshop, Numbers however I do have 3 browsers running with a number of active windows.
I'm beginning to think this is a Firefox issue. Activity Monitor is showing Firefox as the largest use of memory at 2.57GB (I'm on my MacPro currently) with nothing else even close to that. 6 FF windows open.
One of my designers has just told me that he's been having the issue for a couple of weeks on his iMac too. He's concluded the same about FF and instead of leaving windows open overnight he's been quiting FF altogether in the evening and has not had the issue in the morning when he wakes his machine. (That's when it's been happening on both of mine, in the morning after leaving FF running overnight).

  • Qosmio X500-10Q - Toshiba Notebook Registration Reminder stopped working

I am getting above error when starting a session. related to toshibareminder.exe which is not present in the tasks manager.
    Windows 7

    Hey,
Normally the registration reminder is listed in control panel, yes. I have removed it too because its not necessary tools anymore after you have registered your notebook.
You should check msconfig (start > run > msconfig). On start up tab you find a list of all programs they start with Windows. There you have to unmark the registration reminder and thats all! :)

  • Really confused here. I have somehow created both a managed account and an administrator account. The admin acct is now highlighted in system preferences. We are now blocked from using our computer because parental controls keeps popping up.

In attempting to add a music lesson program for my daughters band lessons we have messed up our computer. I now have both a managed account and an administrator account (both in my name).  It is using the managed account now and not letting use the Internet because parental controls keep popping up. I would like to delete the managed account and get back to the admin account but I have no idea what my login is for the admin account. We have never had to use it before this problem started and what we thought it was when we set it up does not work. Any ideas?

If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know that account password, the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • I am getting a message in Lightroom 5 that keeps popping up.  Please help!

I am getting a message in Lightroom 5 that keeps popping up.  I don't understand it.  It says Aux Backup has something to say...   unable to check for newer version of 'rc Aux Backup' - Web server did not respond to http request

    Hello,
I do not know this plug-in but I would try:
goto File->Plugin Manager and deaktivate the "rc Aux Backup" plugin until the server problems are fixed.
You can also try to deactivate the "check for updates up startup" feature of this plugin.

  • Registration reminder suddenly not working ?

Laptop purchased in February and has been successfully registered for warranty etc with Toshiba. In the last 10 days I have had repeated error messages that the Toshiba registation reminder has stopped working - the windows error message is in fact :
    Description
    Stopped working
    Faulting Application Path: C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\Registration\ToshibaReminder.exe
I don't understand why this reminder exe would need to run at all (although there seems to be a related config file dated 23 July 2009 ........which implies the registration tool may THINK my laptop is now out of warranty ?
All this has occurred at the same time as repeatin WIN7 "blue screen of death" crashes and I am wondering if they are connected ..specifically if the Toshiba program malfunction is the cause of the BSOD ?

Hi - Thanks - I'll happily remove it but what, exactly, is it called as I don't see it listed when I look via control panel ?
I see the following Toshiba programs :
    Assist
    Bulletin Board
    ConfigFree
    Disc Creator
    DVD Player
    eco utility
Extended time for windows mobility center
    face recognition
    Flash cards support utility
    Hardware setup
    HDD/SSD alert
    Manuals
    Online Product Information
    PC health monitor
    Photo service
    receovery media creator
    recovery media creator reminder
    reelTime
    SD memory utilities
    Service station
    Supervisor password
    Value Added package
    Web camera application
So none of those seems to be "registration reminder" ?
EDIT - I DO see something called "TRDC reminder" listed in the Toshiba Folder on the C drive under "program files x86" - is that it ..(although it doesn't appear as a prog I can uninstal via control panel).
I also see a folder called "registration" within the Toshiba folder under C drive Program Files, but again that folder doesn't appear in control panel.

This software update keeps popping up almost everyday in my iMac 27 although I keep updating. Looks like the either the update is not happening on my machine or some other problem. Anyone else know of this? Everytime I check for updates (I have the setting to manual check), an alert pops up in Apple store with the phrase "Lexmark Printer Software Update 2.11" available for download.
Is there a way I can turn off this notification for Printer updates until it is resolved? It is pretty annoying.
    Thanks

Not sure this will help yet, having just noticed it myself, but you can now get the Lexmark driver 3.0 for download here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1397
I'm going to give that a try to see if I stop getting the constant reminder for 2.11.
