Toshiba Satelite SA60-672

I am looking to make my Toshiba Satelite SA60-672 laptop wireless for the internet and stuff, but I dont know which card to choose (PCIMIA or mini card or something) and from reading another post theres meant to be a button on the right that you can move to turn on and off, well you can see where its meant to be, but you cant move it :S
Can anyone help me??
Thank you
Benji

Hi again Benji
I didnt try it because I use mini card in my notebook but some friends of mine have PCMCIA wireless cards. One of them has Conceptronic Wireless 54Mbps PC Card and another one has Netgear WG511 Wireless PCMCIA Card 54Mbit 802.11g. Both of them work properly.
Pick up some information and ask some experts in electronic store which one will be good for your notebook.
Good luck!

  • Toshiba satelite S855-S5188 Freaks out and doesn't respond

Hey, i bought a Toshiba Satelite S855-S5188 from NewEgg.com about two months ago, at first i thought it was nothing, which then Subsequently it ceased to occur for a period of time but now it has been starting back up, this time i have to Shut it down in order to stop it from continuing and to gain control of it again.
What happens is, Randomly, With no specific Action, it becomes Unresponsive, like when i type it doens't want to type and then it Zooms in and out Crazy like, not only that the Cap locks seems to freak out as well, like the light that shows Caps are on is lit up, but the keys come out as if it's off and then the numbers come out as symbols as if i am Holding the Shift key down. this doesn't seem to happen with any one application, it happens when i play World of Warcraft or just simply turn the laptop on to log into Facebook and  i am sending a message. I hope it's something Easily fixed and this is my first Toshiba Laptop ever, as i only ever had two laptops this one included, but if some people are expierencing the same issue and such a response on the matter would be much appreciated, Thanks!
    Solved!

Since it's under warranty, Matthew, I would call Tech Support at 1-800-457-7777 about the problem.  When you first got it, it could have been immediately exchanged for another by NewEgg. I believe you have had a bad keyboard from the beginning.  The repair will be free under warranty.

  • Toshiba satelite E45-B4200 wont boot up

Hi , I recently bought my Toshiba satelite E45-B4200. Unfortunately for last couple of days my system wont boot up. I dont think its a windows issue beacause i dont even see the toshiba logo which usually shows while booting up the system. When i power it on, The LED light around power button lights up for a second and then turns off autometically and nothing happens. Here is what i already tried : 1. Pressed the Power button for more than 30 Second while charging adopter was connected.( Power light indicator at the front blinked once)2. Tried  pressing Power button for more than 30 Second disconnecting the power adopter. ( Power light indicator at the front blinked once)3. Removed battery and connected to power adopter only then tried booting up . Did not work as well .  I was trying to access the RAM inside but it turns out there was no easy access. Can anyone help me out to reslove this please? Does anyone have a disassemble guide or a Video tutorial ?  TIA

Sounds like you may have a short in the motherboard, you may also have a bad charger. If the battery is too low it can cause these symptoms. I would try to obtain another power supply and attempt to turn it on with it, If that fails I would send it in for repair.

  • HT1926 Why does Itunes installed on a Toshiba Satelite with windows 8 not recognize my Ipone or Ipad?

Why does Itunes installed on a Toshiba Satelite with windows 8 not recognize my Iphone or Ipad?

It's possible that charger damaged some part of the connection on the iPad. There's little metal contacts on that small silicon chip sticking out of the port and if something happens to one of those little contacts it can effect how it works.
You can try taking it into an apple store and have them look at it. If you'd only used 'official' stuff there'd probably be no question but once they know that the damage, potential damage, was caused by a third party device, then it may be up to the discretion of the manager what they do with it. Whether they replace it under warranty or decide that the warranty is void (I honestly don't know how strict they can be with the use of third party devices and how they may/may not work)

  • Can I download windows 7 to toshiba satelite C855D from windows 8.1

was looking for way to turn this toshiba satelite c855d which I upgraded to the 8.1 but would rather have windows 7 on here.

You need to post your full model number for us to check for you!
To partially answer your question, only the drivers can be downloaded if available not the windows 7 operating system, that would have to be purchased for install

  • Toshiba Satelite A305-S6858 Reboots and could not load Vista Normally but can run Safemode only

Please help me...  I love this Toshiba Satelite A305-S6858 and I keep getting this problem.  I already tried to disable legacy support and the memory test says 4GB is working fine.  Please help me.

    Satellite A305-S6858
    Let's start here.
Boot into Safe Mode and open System Properties (sysdm.cpl). On the Advanced tab, click the Settings button at the bottom (under Startup and Recovery).
What is the state of the Automatically restart check box? If it's checked, clear it.
What is the state of the two fields at the bottom? Set things for a mini-dump as shown below.
Does that give you a blue screen when you boot normally?

  • Toshiba Satelite A665-S6070

I just bought a Toshiba Satelite A665-s6070 and I have been having trouble with random freeze ups.  It doesn't seem to matter whether im doing something that is intensive on the processor or if im just browsing the internet.  I have tried doing hardware and software updates but it doesn't appear to help.  I am on the verge of taking my computer back and getting my money back.

Hi,  I am no expert and I am posting here only to see if this helps.  I have an Satellite A505-S6005 PSAT6U laptop
and have had the same issue this month (July) with random freezing and lock ups. My machine was taking in excess of 4 minutes to boot to a useable desktop.  I was reading stuff from an internet search I did on random lock ups and an expert pointed to sometimes it can be a BIOS isssue.  I also went looking for viruses and malware and registry errors with free scanners but was told that rarely ever happens anyway. The results of those were negative all the way around.  I even ran the bundled Toshiba diagnostic software on the laptop and disk health apps both of which were good.  I Looked in the systems Windows error reports to see if the computer even knew it was locking up.  Sure enough nada all the way around.  I was starting to think maybe the beginning of hard drive failure on a brand new machine and getting pissed off about it.
I began searching Toshiba support sites and found an obscure citation for an A505 Bios update released back
in April or June in downloads for my laptop. One of the fixes listed was random freezes for some apps that I did not know what they did anyway. I then searched these forums for BIOS issues and found one that said do not do a BIOS update from within windows but use the Bootable CD/DVD option instead.  I spent most of yesterday making an entire back up of my system before I proceeded.  5 DVDs later and then created the bootable CD/DVD from the BIOS application that Toshiba had on the web site. Pressed F12 and did the BIOS update then the machine
    restarted on its own.
I followed all of the steps/instructions and now my machine boots in less than 2 mins and has not frozen since.
I cannot tell you it is your BIOS, but maybe consider it as a possible option.  I was to  a point where I was going to take my device back to Best Buy using the warranty service I purchased or I was going to call Toshiba Tech support and pay, I am sure, big bucks to find out something.  I am so glad for these forums, without them I would have probably spent a bundle. I do not know how to tell if a BIOS is good or bad but now that I have seen what a properly updated one does, I will keep it on my radar scope in the future.  In addition I had previously signed up for Toshiba software release notices for my machine, but the BIOS update was never sent my way, so I am not too thrilled with Toshiba about that either.
Before you  go messing with a registry or bios or anything like that, you will want to back up, make good recovery media, or so forth because it is way too easy to permanently destroy the device before you know it.

  • Toshiba Satelite C75D-A7370 Cannot Recognize Crucial M500 SSD drive

    Goal:
I got a Toshiba Satelite C75D-A7370 laptop and I upgraded from the internal HDD to an internal SSD drive.
It is a Crucial M500 with 240GB SSD drive. Crucial says it is compatible with the Satelite model.
    Problem:
When I enter the BIOS, Main-->HDD/SSD does not detect the connected SSD.  Any help?
    Troubleshoot:
In the BIOS, I did the following:
    Turn off Secure Boot
Advanced System Configuration: Switch Boot Mode from UEFI Boot to CSM Boot
Advanced System Configuration: SATA Controller Mode is set to AHCI
The laptop already has the latest version of BIOS:
    InsydeH2O Rev. 3.7
    System BIOS Version 1.4
    EC Version 1.20
If I put the SSD drive in an external case with USB, Windows 8.1 can use the SSD drive as a USB drive. So I know the drive is working.
Thanks in advance for your help.

So close. But I spoke too soon.
Check disk won't work. I tried scheduling it from the My Computer window or through an elevated command prompt (chkdsk /f /r).  No luck.  I've got the error message. I can post that later.  The very last line is this...
    766f6c756d652e63 3f1
Did chkdsk /f /r from the rescue disk command line.  No change.
It counts down 10 seconds and starts to check disk. It errors out right away.
From the rescue disk, startup repair.  That was fine, but didn't change the check disk results.
The Microsoft Fixit I found earlier didn't do anything. I think it only checked for updates.
Could be Norton Internet Security, although I doubt it.
When I put the Crucial SSD in I did a quick ntfs format and named that volume C.  In diskpart, I noticed the system reserved 100MB partition was letter C.  I think the main hard partition was D.  I switched the system 100MB to T and made the main partition C.  Within Windows, the servered reserved partition didn't have any letter -- except I did put a letter on it in diskpart from the rescue disk.
I just tried within Windows, making 100MB T.  And then I removed it. That was someone's solution online.

  • Kernel-2.6.31.6-1 on Toshiba satelite

For owners of Toshiba satelite: kernel-2.6.31.6-1 does not work on Toshiba satelite A105 S2141. Bad things begin right at booting time after frase Loading ACPI modules.

I have the same problem with my Toshiba Satellite L505D with the latest install release. I get 'a lot' of acpi errors. The only way to get a successful boot is acpi=off or acpi=ht, so luckily it can see both cores. I thought it was because of a buggy DSDT table, but I can't actually boot the computer and copy the DSDT table to recompile it and try to fix the issues; it only loads the DSDT table if acpi is enabled, and I can't boot if acpi is enabled.
I'm basically stuck using Windows 7, which has actually been a really nice OS, since I can't have any sort of power management in Arch. Not being able to have power management means not being able to use Arch, what good is a laptop if the battery wont last.
