Toshiba Satellite C55t-B5230 part no. PSCMQU-00U006

I have a Toshiba satellite C55t-B5230 and it was working fine just this morning but i opened it just now and it says "Reboot and select proper Boot device or insert boot media in selected boot divice and press a key" I was wondering is there any way to gix thos without the disk because it never came with one

The data for the recovery media comes on the hard drive. If you want recovery media, you need to create backup recovery media using the pre-installed Toshiba Recovery Media Creator software. I know you can't do that right now, but hopefully it can get fixed without it. Try following these suggestions:
What can I do if my Windows 8 laptop won't start?

All programs seam to work except HWsetup. Flashcards show up when using special function keys except for the volume, the volume special function keys work to turn volume up and down but you don’t see the flash cards, and of course there is no recovery partition so the recovery media creator cannot burn recovery media.
Updated to show instructions and pictures 8-24-2014
Instructions for changeing to from Windows 8 to windows 7.
    INSTRUCTIONS:
First - Burn recovery media before you make any changes! -You may want or need to go back to windows 8 later-
Update BIOS to newest bios version, the C55 and possibly other models will not support CSM boot mode with the older bios versions.
    Second -
Important Bios changes when changing from Windows 8 to Windows 7:
Completely shut down laptop (Shut down Windows 8 while pressing the Shift key to completely power off.) then restart computer and hold f2 when the screen goes black and wait for the bios setup utility to launch.
Select advanced, then system configuration, then boot mode
UEFI and CSM or legacy  (UEFI for Windows 8 and CSM or legacy for windows 7)
For windows 7 change to CSM or Legacy mode.
Third - Also in bios setup utility select - Security, then Secure Boot, then you have to disable secure boot for windows 7.
You will need to delete all partitions before installing windows 7 this is done forth step.
Forth - Insert your windows 7 disc and select custom install, your partitions should show up - click on each one and below you will see advanced drive options, click that and you will have options to format - format each one, then delete each one. You will be left with one raw partition, select to install and windows will do the rest while installing the operating system.
    Fifth - install drivers
    Installation order is important:
Install chipset driver then video driver before other drivers. Then install Toshiba Value added package before other applications
-See attached pictures that show installed applications-

Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. All the drivers and utilities are properly installed.
If you failed to create recovery media, obtain it from Toshiba. Scroll down to Get Recovery Media here
See the instructions in the section Restoring from recovery media, which begins on p. 56 of the User's Guide.

  • Satellite C55T Digitizer Crack

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55T-A5222 and the digitizer has been cracked/busted pretty good. With the cracked digitzier the computer will not let you move the mouse or type on the keyboard, I'm assuming it is hung up because of the cracked screen and thinks your continuously touching the screen so it is keeping the unit busy and will not allow any other input actions via mouse or keyboard, could be wrong on that but that is my guess. Well the repair is high so i figured I would take the digitizer off completely and just use it as a regular unit. I removed the glass and put the plastic part back on and it boots back up but still no actions can be done via mouse and keyboard. So I took it back part and unplugged the digitizer cable that connects to the motherboard and back on and still i can't use mouse or keyboard. Is there anyway to work around this so i can use the unit and completely disable the motherboard from seeking for this is digitizer technology or is it one of them things where it was made to not work without? Seems like you should be able to remove it somehow. Any comments? Anyone already done or tried this? Thanks

    your support site is here
so your asking if you can replace the touch screen with a regular non-touch screen and have the computer work without the touch screen feature?  I would think so but I have no experience with this so I'm going to let others chime in with their input.

  • Satellite C55T: Win 7 does not recognize LAN and WLan card

    I have a problem.
Ive downgraded my Toshiba Satellite C55T-A5222 to Windows 7 64-bit and he didn't install many drivers.
The windows didn't recognize my network connection and he didn't install my wireless driver.
Maybe I need a chipset driver but I didn't find any drivers for windows 7.
    Please help me!

If Windows 7 did not recognize the LAN and WLan card, you did not install proper drivers.
Satellite C55T-A5222 is US notebook model.
The drivers can be downloaded from this Toshiba US support page: [Satellite C55T-A5222|http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200005866]
Here choose Drivers /& Updates and the filter by Windows 7 64bit (on the left)
Now you should get all Win 7 64bit drivers for the Satellite C55T-A5222

  • SLow WIFI toshiba satellite C55-a and windows 8

Hi I recently bought a new laptop toshiba satellite C55-A with windows 8 on it. My older laptop runs super fast with my WIFI internet. The new one goes like SLOW like hell. I mean I have 10 MB internet and it goes like 500 K Please I am really tired of looking on Internet to fix a problem of a NEW computer. Plus, once I plug my computer with the Internet wire it RUNS on 10 MB! THANK YOU!

Hello!  I also recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite C55t-A.
We have a desktop computer that is about 3 years old and another laptop that is about 6 years old.  We have an apple Ipad and 2 cell phones with wifi.  All of these devices work with our WIFI from our cable internet at high speeds.
This new computer is so slow using Wifi that it isn't really feasable to use it for surfing the web.
It has ran slow on WIFI straight out of the box...nothing has changed on it.  We perhaps should have returned it, but it was purchased for a specific project we needed it for on a time deadline, so it was too inconvenient to return it.  After using it for the project, it was past the return date.
Anyways, I am hoping this is fixable...we would like to be able to use the laptop for online work.
This problem isn't related to the position in the house (walls or distance) or the integrity/age of the router.  All other devices work at different points throughout our home with the current router.  This is the only computer that will not run at an acceptable WIFI speed.
We also cannot restore the computer (it worked this way out of the box and there are too many files (hours of work) that we can't lose.
Please, I would appreciate if there is any info that could help me.  I suspect some type of driver or software that came installed on the laptop must not be compatible with our router.
    Thank you!
    Mary

  • I have audio working, but not the microphone on my toshiba satellite

Hi there, I'm a newbie to the arch way, but I'm not a newbie to linux, however I'm pretty stumped with this one (I'm not used to having to look after everything, but I'm loving it!) I have a Toshiba Satellite C650D-10W, and it has a very annoying soundcard built into it. I have the sound working, thankfully, however I cannot get the inbuilt mic to function. Some info here:

  • My Toshiba Satellite does not charge or turn on.

Hiya. I'm fourteen, and I own a Toshiba Satellite C650D. This was my first ever laptop. On Christmas Eve, It shut down once by itself. I thought it might've overheated so I turned it on again and it was fine. Later on it shut off again. It didn't turn back on.. It's been stuck off this whole time. I really liked my computer and I refused all other laptops, I only want my Toshiba. The LED charge light doesn't turn on if I plug in the Brand new power cord. I tried doing a power cycle more than three times, I took it apart and dusted off the motherboard, I found no cracks in it. A little bit of pieces tumbled out, But I suspected that was from the broken hinge. The pieces that fell out were tiny pieces of plastic, and one small metal loop with three tiny arms and one medium arm. I'm not sure if this is a busted socket or anything, But I think it's the broken hinge. I really want my laptop back, It was absolutely amazing, and All I've been stuck with this whole time is an IBM thinkpad. If ANYONE can help me please do. I cannot afford to go to a service center, order parts or a disk, and my dad said he was going to find me a new laptop on ebay. I don't want a new laptop. I want my Toshiba.

Please provide the entire model number of your laptop.
Also, were you using your laptop mostly for gaming?
Was this that the first time you had felt it was hot / overheating?
When you press the power button do you hear the fan come on, even if for a few seconds?
Do you hear you hard drive spin at all?

  • Clicking noise from new Toshiba Satellite laptop?

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-A5195 (Windows 7 Home Premium). It was bought brand new around 3 weeks ago. I've noticed that, besides the fan noise, the bottom of the laptop makes a clicking or buzzing noise. The laptop has blue screened twice, something about memory management. I don't really mind the noise, I just want to make sure there's nothing wrong with the laptop's hardware.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

With any physical sounds like that, it can be really hard to know if it's something serious or not. Hard drives, optical drives, and fans all have moving parts that can cause noise.
In regards to the blue screens, have you installed many programs? Do you know what you were doing when they occurred?

  • Toshiba Satellite Laptop -- Won't power on or boot..

I can't get my Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5881 (model #: PSLC8U-00D010) to power up or boot. It is plugged in and the power light is on. I've tried re-seating the memory, hard drive and battery. I've also tried plugging in a monitor to see if it was the display. So far, no luck.
Any suggestions? Do these symptoms sound like the power supply, hard drive or mother board?
    Thanks.

It still won't boot so I bought a different computer.   The funny part is my A45-S150 is 8 years old and works very well and runs with a Linux Opsys.

  • AC Adapter for Toshiba Satellite M40X-129

    Hello guys,
hope this is the correct forum to post my question in:
I have a Toshiba Satellite M40X-129 (Model No: PSM4XE-01600CGR). My AC-Adapter is buggered so I need to get a new one. Bought the machine in Germany, am now in Tasmania / Australia. Being in a remote area camp till April, I wont be able to go to a shop with my laptop to try and or figure out, what AC Adapter is suitable. We do have internet here as our only communication form, so it is quite important for me to sort that out.
Can anyone tell me, what kind of Adapter / power supply is suitable or where to look it up?
The one Ive been using before is a LITEON, Part No.: PA3432U-1AC3, Model No.: PA-1750-09, Input: 100-240V, 50-60Hz, 1.5A, Output: 19V, 3.95A.
Thanks for your help and have a nice day
    Peter

    Thanks for your answer Andrej.
Being in a remote area camp, I cant go to the shop with my old adapter, but I can get someone for me to go the shop, buy (or order) the adapter and chuck it on the next supply chopper.
I sent all the details posted above to my favorite shop and the lady answered me, as my laptop is an overseas one, it might be possible that the ones they have dont fit. Now I read about plug sizes etc. and thought I could send her some more information to verify, if the stuff they got in stock will do the job for my lap.

  • External subwoofer not working with Satellite C55t-A5222

When I plug in an external speaker system into my laptop, the speakers work, but the subwoofer does not. I have tried two different speaker systems and have the same problem. I know the subwoofer works, because when I connect an ipod or iphone to the speakers through bluetooth, the sound is great. How can I get the same sound when the speakers are connected directly to my Satellite C55t-A5222 laptop? I have verified that I have the latest driver for my sound.

I was having the same problem, so I called Customer Service. The Tech diagnosed the problem with the Realtek HD Audio Manager. I had upgraded to Windows 8.1 from 8.0 so some of the drivers and devices my not have installed correctly, he guessed.
He went Control Panel > Hardware and Sound
Under Devices and Printers he selected Device Manager>Sound, video and game conroller>
He seleced Realtek High Definition Audio
He went to the Driver Tab and selected 'Uninstall"
He uninstalled the Realtek Device and rebooted my laptop.
After the Reboot, he went back to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound  and went all the way at the bottom selected "Realtek HD  Audio Manager. I don't recall if it was there before, but I assumed it wasn't since he was not able to find it previously.
The then opened up the Realtek HD Audio Manager and selected  DTS Tab and clicked the 'Launch' Button. He then selected 'External Speakers and 'Viola' My External Cyber Acoustics CA-3602 2.1 Speakers including the Sub Woofer were 'shaking' my office again!  YEAH!!
He said that each time I want to use the External Speakers and Headset I might have to select it in the Realteck HD Audio Manager if it is not working!    THANKS "SAM" (my Toshiba Tech Guy's psuedonym)
    Hope this helps you guys

  • CD/DVD player not working (Toshiba Satellite L875d-S7232)

I purchased a  (Toshiba Satellite L875d-S7232) on August 17, 2012 from a major retailer. Recently, the CD/DVD player will not play, or even recognize, commercially produced DVD movies. As a consequence, I cannot rent or buy movie DVDs, nor will any of the DVDs in my library work now. The DVD player in this Satellite is TSST SN-208AB.
What happens is that when you put a movie DVD in the machine, the light goes on 4 times, but the DVD player never spins up and starts playing. In the explorer, the CD/DVD icon is there, but when you try to "open" the DVD player it never spins up and a green bar goes, very slowly, across the top of the window.
The player has no trouble with audio CDs.
I have spent about 10 hours on this problem now. What I have tried followed all of the standard "fixes" for this specific problem on this specific machine and the correct OS (Windows 7 Home Premium). None of the standard fixes fixed anything.
    In Brief :
    1. I uninstalled all programs which use the DVD player, except for the standard suite that came with the computer at time of purchase. Also, uninstalled all CODEC packages that were not part of the original suite.
    2. Uninstalled the CD/DVD device and driver, as instructed, and the device and driver were automatically reinstalled. Did a full power cycle (including removal of the battery). I've done this solution about 4 times.
    3. Looked in the registry for a possible filter driver issue. There was none.
    4. Used Microsoft "Fix It" program, which discovered "a problem" but had no description of the problem or a reference to a fix.
    5. Ran the device driver update check, toshiba service station check, microsoft update check. All files are up to date and the correct file.
    6. Ran system files check, HDD corruption check. No problems reported.
Nothing done so far has moderated or altered the behavior in any way. Moreover, I have noted dozens and dozens of people on the internet in different forums with the same problem. What this means is that Toshiba is losing market share bigtime on this one.
    Any fix would be appreciated.

Hi Sense no one has replied, I will offer my 2 cents. DVD drives wear out and they also get dirty. You could try to clean it with compressed air. DVD drives are fairly cheap and very easy to replace.
    Dokie!!
I Love my Satellite L775D-S7222 Laptop. Some days you're the windshield, Some days you're the bug. The Computer world is crazy. If you have answers to computer problems, pass them forward.

  • Toshiba Satellite P205-S6267 - DVD Burner unable to read DVDs only CDs

    Hi,
Trying to reinstall Vista on my Toshiba Satellite P205-S6267 laptop but the optical drive will not read any DVDs at all only CDs. So I'm unable to install Vista which is only on DVD but WinXP on CD is detected and installs OK except for XP driver issues which makes loading XP useless. I have been at this problem for few days scouring various internet forums which mostly speak to the registry issue with lower and upper filters. But if I can't get the OS installed then those solutions don't apply to me. I need help. Anyone..anyone???

    Satellite P205-S6267
    You're in luck!
Your model belongs to part-number family PSPB0U, which corresponds to part-number family PSPB0E for computers made in Europe.
Go to the European download site and look up the Satellite P200 with Short Model No. PSPB0E.
When you filter on Windows XP, you'll find 36 items listed.
