Toshiba Satellite L450D-13U no information on toshiba web could not upgrade or download

Hi
I got Toshiba L450D-13U last month, but could not find the same on toshiba website, and hence could download any software or upgrade it.
when i used self detection software on toshiba support website it says, sorry we can not find this system.

Try looking on the European Support Site where it's sold and supported instead of here on the USA support site where it isn't.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

Synfig was made in 2006, so it's not unlikely that it might not work for some people. By 'some people', I mean me. I was just asking if it was something on my side, but if that's all you got, I think it's highly unlikely that it's my fault. I don't even want it anymore, I got Flash Professional. I was just wondering. I could have sworn you used to write more detailed answers before jumping striaght to conclusions. 'Did this happen to you on anything else?' or maybe even 'Why don't you complain to them?' would have been fine.

  • Toshiba Satellite C40D-A HD recovery solution to lost password after upgrade to win 8.1?

    Hi,
    Part No.: PSCDSL-009001
After I bought this laptop in Manila, I initiated it with ONE local account, and NO password, and created a USB recovery stick.
There are no privacy-critical data on it, so I'm perfectly happy using it without password.
    It came with Windows 8.
Lately I was 'offered' an upgrade to Windows 8.1 through some window in Windows, which I accepted, assuming my old account would be migrated.
During the upgrade, I was forced to get and enter a Microsoft Outlook.com account in order to be able to continue.
I don't want an outlook.com account, still assumed that my previous account would be properly migrated (which it *should*), and registered a bogus outlook.com account, started working, and forgot about the account.
After some time of inactivity and before I was able to create a new recovery USB, the laptop went into sleep modus, after which it was impossible for me to login again, because the thing was asking for my outlook.com account, which I had forgotten, and didn't want in the first place.
Account recovery @ accounts.live.com is impossible due to lack of sufficient data 'to confirm my identity'.
So now I'm considering a HDD recovery, if possible. There are however some questions to be answered before I proceed with that.
    1. Is there a possibility that this laptop (bought in a quite well known shop in the Asia Mall in Manila) has some irregular windows installed, so that it will be impossible to recover it? And will I be notified of that before I destroy my original windows 8?
    2. Do I need a windows activation key in order to use it after the recovery? (I don't have/can't find one.)
    3. To be sure, I looked at https://support.toshiba.com/support/serviceUnitVerification?orderType=SFF in order to check if I'd be able to get a recovery media,  but it says: "Please verify you entered the correct serial number, and that your PC was sold in the eligible region."
Now I checked the serial No., and my entry was correct (from the sticker on the laptop), and I have no idea what 'sold in the eligible region' has to do with it, nor do I understand what it is referring to.
    4. I have had a linux distribution installed on it before, but have been so careful (enough, I hope) to ONLY remove the partition with the windows installation. Proof of this, is that I was able to reinstall windows 8, before the upgrade to 8.1) from the USB drive. Would this history interfere with a succesful recovery back to windows 8?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

First, this is the peer support forum for Toshiba USA, which hosts the forum on their website. While you're still welcome here, your unit is a Toshiba Asia model, and you can register with them at the previous link. So, that's why you get the "Please verify....that your PC was sold in the eligible region." message. Your unit's serial number would not be regisitered with Toshiba USA.
    With regard to your questions:
    1) - I doubt it's an illegal copy of Windows if you bought it at a reputable shop. Plus, you would not have been able to 'Activate' Windows 8, nor been offered the upgrade to Windows 8.1 if the original copy was illegal.
    2) - No, you don't need an activation key to use the Toshiba Recovery.
3 & 4) If you used the Toshiba Recovery USB to rebuild Windows 8 before the Win8.1 upgrade, it is no proof at all that you did not destroy, damage or corrupt the Toshiba Recovery Partition on the hard drive when you installed Linux. However, by using the recovery USB, you would have rebuilt the Toshiba Recovery Partition nonetheless. If you in fact 'upgraded' your Win8 installation to Win8.1, as opposed to doing a 'clean' or 'custom' install of Win8.1, then the recovery partition should still be intact.
Bottom line, if your recovery partition is sill intact and accessible, or if you still have the Toshiba Recovery USB, either way, you can still rebuild your system to its factory default out-of-the-box setup, that is to Windows 8.  But, you'd have to satisfy Microsoft, you are who you say you are to get back to Windows 8.1.
You should take a good look at the appropriate sections of your User's Guide.
Get back to us again if you have any more questions. Good luck.

  • Toshiba Satellite L450D-124 - Internet doesn't work

Hello, suddenly my internet on my laptop stopped to work, everything should work since there is no sign of an error or something. According to my settings it should work but when i try to do something that requires internet connection it says that the webpage can't be viewed or internet doesn't work. Apperently it does work when i connect through lan. But through wifi it doesn't. Anyone can help me with this problem? I resetted my whole laptop so there couldn't be any virusses or something.
    Thanks in advance,

Hi guys, thank you so much for your help!
I tried to do the troubleshooting like suggested but unfortunately the screen does not show anything!!
I am so disappointed with Toshiba since I have paid about 1000 bucks on this laptop and just after one month of the end of limited warranty it got a problem!!
Please if you have another suggestion and troubleshooting please let me know.
Remarks: I am living in Brazil and here we do not have an authorized Toshiba Service Center.

  • Satellite L450D-13U will not start at all

Yesterday the screen on my L450D when blank and then the machine closed down.
Now it will not start at all.
There are no lights on display when the power cable is attached.
When the start button is pressed all that happens is there is a momentary flash of the On light (not sure if that's the right name) and the DVD light.
You can also hear the fan starting up but that immediately goes off.
    That's all that happens.
I've tried without the battery, tried discharging the battery.
    Has my laptop just died?
Is there any hope or should I just move on?

I will agree with checking your RAM.
The best way to do so before you buy anything is to check each stick.
Remove the battery and AC cord, and press the power button several times to make sure the system is fully discharged.
Once it is discharged, ground yourself and pull the RAM cover. Remove the top stick ONLY. Plug the laptop back in, and try to boot it.
If you get nothing, swap the stick you pulled for the one that is still in the system, and try again.
After that, if it still does not want to boot up, take it to a shop. It could be something as simple as the BIOS battery being dead, or a burnt out power mosfet.

  • Satellite L450D-13U - WLan connections issues

    Hi,
I use talktalk as my internet provider.
I started to get a intermitent connection and the internet light on the router goes red.Its a d-link router.
3 weeks a vist from a bt tech they now tell me that the problem might be my laptop.
How could this be when it does connect and then drops the connection very iradic.

    Hi
You said that the router disconnects from internet. Right?
So how can be this notebook issue? Sorry but I dont understand this
In your case I would recommend checking the router settings.
You should check for the firmware update and should also check if other notebooks/computers connected to the same router would have the same problems.
If you are 100% sure that your router is OK, then you should check the notebooks WLan.
In such case its advisable to update WLan driver

Ipad message "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding". I cannot access emails or internet.

Thankyou for suggestion. My PC was working ok ( accessing emails/internet) which puzzled me. It's usually the PC that drives me nuts and the iPad that is great.I discovered my TV was having difficulty with a connection to broadband. I turned off the main Wifi router and switched it on again and all seems to be well. My IPad was suggesting, however, that all was well with the Wifi connection. It had a tick against it in Settings. Very strange!

  • I can't restore my Toshiba Satellite anymore!

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L450D-11X laptop, which I've been using for a few years now. I've reinstalled it several times over the years, by pressing 0 and the "on" button at the same time until the laptop beeps. However, I've been trying to reinstall the laptop recently, but nothing happens when I follow this method anymore; the Microsoft Windows 7 loading screen just appears and the computer boots up as normal. Do you know why this has started happening, and/or if there's any other way I can restore my laptop to its factory settings? Thanks!

Did you misspell a couple of words “Striomx” and “Estreomaks”?  I did not find those words when I Google them.  Do you mean stereo mix?   I did find your model though and I see that it has a Conextant sound card.  Here are 2 methods presented by posters on this forum to incorporate stereo mix with Conextant sound card.

  • Toshiba Satellite p75-A7200 stuck on toshiba logo after bios change

My Toshiba Satellite p75-A7200 is stuck on toshiba logo after bios change.
entered bios fine changes from UEFI to CSM boot and now i cannot enter bios or boot past toshiba logo.
Ive tried F2 tapping and holding while powering up the laptop(tried every Fkey,DEL,ESC, with and without FN key)
    cannot re-enter bios.
Also i tried to run the bios update cd created multiple  1.50 1.40 even 1.00, it doesnt seem to read any media.
i tried holding C, FN+C and f and just about every key on the keyboard to get something to work. i had dvd as top of boot priority for a while now so i shouldnt have to try f12 or holding C before boot but i tried . it doesnt seem to read any media
i tried windows 8 install cd, Ubuntu, centos, nothing goes past toshiba logo and no errors, i dont get the non bootable device error so its seems to not be reading the dvd. (dvd does spin and make read noises) im trying to find my usb floppy drive to try a floppy version but it acts like its not reading any media.
I also pulled the HDD and all usb devices to make the dvd the only media available and with the HDD out it spins then toshiba logo then black screen with solid white  horizontal curser on top left of screen.(only happens when hdd out)
is there some type of key combination that will force a bios update or a crisis recovery mode for bios.
I also Pulled the battery for 2 solid days(battery, cmos battery, and power supply and held power button for about 10 mins while watching tx to make sure the thing was drained before the 2 day sit with no power at all.
this happened the second i changed from UEFI to CSM boot so its not a motherboard problem or anything like that because all was well before this setting change.
I already pulled the HDD and backed it up to another drive and swapped it to elimiate that.
any ideas on a secret key combo to force a bios read from dvd or usb or anythng.
or another combo that im just missing to enter bios after CSM boot.
    UPDATE
to do a crisis recovery on this laptop
1 get a usb stick and format it in fat or fat32
2 download "7zip" and install it if you dont have it.
3 download bios from toshiba website.
4 run the installer for bios but dont choose and option just close it we just want to extract the files to the location normally  c:\splnvxxx where xxx is the version number like 150
5 goto the installed locaion "c:\splnv150" or whatever number.
    6. find file os2014273a_150 or something similar. it will be an application, it will end in version number _150, and it will also have a disc image file of the same name. but we want the app.
    7. right click on it and you should have an option 7zip then extract
once extracted there is a folder now archesxxxxxx_bios_v150_win
8 copy the bios file located in archesxxxxxblahblah/X64/BIOS.fd , BIOS.fd is the bios and just copy that to a BLANK usb thumb drive that was formatted with fat or fat32.
    9. put usb into your satellite and unplug the power from it.
10 holding FN + ESC key together plug the power back in and press power button.
    11. release keys FN and ESC if all is right it will have the power button and led on from blink abut every 1 second while it searches for the bios. once its done it will reboot and you should be good to go.
if it keeps cycling with the power button then the bios is named wrong or something is not right with the usb. try reformatting it again and make sure that the bios file is the ONLY thing on the drive.

Ok a little research and digging into the bios exe downloaded from toshiba shows this has INSYDE BIOS witch should have a recovery process wich i prepared a usb stick with just the bios.fd on it found some post around toshiba forums with different models using win +B or Fn + F but neither of these worked for me to force bios update
anyone with this model know the key combo to force recovery

    Hi,
Trying to reinstall Vista on my Toshiba Satellite P205-S6267 laptop but the optical drive will not read any DVDs at all only CDs. So I'm unable to install Vista which is only on DVD but WinXP on CD is detected and installs OK except for XP driver issues which makes loading XP useless. I have been at this problem for few days scouring various internet forums which mostly speak to the registry issue with lower and upper filters. But if I can't get the OS installed then those solutions don't apply to me. I need help. Anyone..anyone???

    Satellite P205-S6267
    You're in luck!
Your model belongs to part-number family PSPB0U, which corresponds to part-number family PSPB0E for computers made in Europe.
Go to the European download site and look up the Satellite P200 with Short Model No. PSPB0E.
When you filter on Windows XP, you'll find 36 items listed.

  • Toshiba Satellite A505-S6033 Indicator Lights Not Working

I have a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6033 that all of a sudden does not have its ac power and batter power indicator lights working.  The power and hard drive activity lights do however work.  The laptop works fine on both AC and battery power as well as the battery recharges no problem.  I tried the cord and pack from my other Toshiba laptop and still no lights.  I also changed out the charge cable with a new one after this assuming a short in the cable.  Still no lights, however everything works.  Please help as I am at a loss why only these 2 indicator lights out of the whole strip do not illuminate as well as the laptop still works fine.  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me.

leds burn out too.  you could replace or just use as-is.  they really aren't necessary anyway.

  • Re: Satellite L550-129 doens't support Toshiba external HDD

Toshiba Satellite L550-129 doens't support Toshiba external hdd store.e canvio.
Al other thosiba laptops in the familie work with the store.e canvio and a lot of older coputers?????

If your external HDD is not recognized, then this can be caused by low power supply from USB port or its simply an software issue.
The Toshiba page http://www.toshiba-multimedia.com/chd/store-externe-festplatten/canvio/ says that STOR.E CANVIO needs 900mA
The usual USB 2.0 standard provides 500mA
So you need an USB Y cable to connect such HDD to two USB 2.0 ports

  • Satellite L450D-13X - Black Screen of Death/Blue Screen of Death

    Hello everyone.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L450D-13X computer for the kids, and for the price it's a good laptop. Have had no issues with it until two weeks ago when the screen froze for the boys whilst playing a game and downloading a program from the net. Had to do a force shutdown and since then we have a BSoD on every boot-up. This is what we have tried:
On 'Starting Windows' we are given an option of either 'Launch Startup Repair' which ends up as BSoD or 'Start Windows Normally' which reverts back to the 'Starting Windows' option list.
Any attempt to enter 'Safe Mode' results in BSoD.
Attempting to boot an ISO of the Windows Recovery Disk on a USB key (we did highlight it and promote it to the top) results in BSoD. Borrowing a proper Window 7 installation DVD and highlighting this as an option results in BSoD.
In fact, the only option we used that threw up something different was using advanced boot options. On one of these options we got the Blue Screen of Death with the following information:
    Unmountable_Boot_Volume
Disable Bios Memory Options such as caching/shadowing
    Tech info
    Stop: 0x000000ED (0xFFFFFA80023C2CDO 0xFFFFFFFFC0000185 0x0000000000000000 0x0000000000000000)
I don't mind erasing the hard drive and starting again, there's nothing on it that's critical. I'd very, very much appreciate a steer on this. Checked the web for stuff and nothing seems to assist in any other options. I am not particularly tech literate but can follow instructions.
    Thanks in advance.

In my opinion system has a problem to start, so there are two most possible ways waht failed. Firstly as "Akuma" and "Keany" says HDD so check it. Second thing is RAM module. Check it using Memtest 86+ or if you have a possibility replace it for a while by other module. HDD is more possible, but RAM module is easier and faster to check (that's my opinion)
