Toshiba sattelite pro l40 stuck at splash screen

i was resizing some partitions and when i restart, it freezes at lubuntu starting up, restart again? stuck at toshiba splash screen. if theres no battery and just ac, f2 says enterring setup but stays in splashscreen, with onlly battery f12 says entering boot. and dosent change screen, i tried proper reset but still nothing, recovery cds spin up but the screen dont change.

I had a similar problem with FCPX sticking at the splash screen, this procedure worked for me.
Go to ~/Library/Caches and delete the "com.apple.audiounits.cache" file.
Then launch Logic Pro/Audio Units Manager and rescan all the audio plug-ins.
FCPX should then startup normally.
If you don't have Logic Pro/Audio Units Manager try removing third-party audio plugins at ~/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components

  • Final Cut Pro X STUCK at splash screen

    Hi,
I just bought Final Cut Pro X on the App store and it can't seem to get past the splash screen. It doesn't say loading compressor or anything. It just remains blank and seems to not load the program. I can still acess the dropdown menus at the top but nothing is very responsive. I've tried making a new project, bringing all windows to front, reverting to original layout, reinstalling, trashing prefrences and the file in application support. So far nothing as worked.
I'm running a Mac Pro Quad Core Intel Xeon with Snow Leopard version 10.6.8
I would appreciate any help ASAP because I have a deadline on this project I'm working on that is coming up at the end of the weekend.
    Thanks,
    Evan

My macbook pro is stuck on grey screen with apple symbol in center with the progress circle under it continusly spinning. After I had turned it on. Prior to turning it on I had to force close and shut down a few hours prior. Please Help I have tried everything I know to do

Unfortunately this means that there is a problem in the boot sector of your hard drive. It might be indicative of a fundamental corruption in the coding that allows your computer to boot your operating system from your hard drive. I had this problem twice and it resulted in me having to get a new hard drive and restore my data.
In other words, your computer can't talk to your operating system so you can't access your data.
Here is my advice: DON'T CALL APPLE TECH SUPPORT though they are kind and usually helpful it will take you an hour just to explain the situation and they will only tell you to do what I'm gonna say here.
First: Shut down your computer completely
Two: boot up while holding down the following keys: command, option, p, and r. The computer will reboot 3 times. This solution will likely fail so if you're frustrated skip to the next step.
Three: Boot up while holding down the option key. Select recovery drive. Select your default language. Select disk utility, click on Macintosh HD, and select "verify and repair volume." Likely the verification will produce some line like "unused node not erased." Or something like that. If anything using the words "node structure" comes up, you need a new hard drive.
If after verification and repairs you still can't boot I sincerely hope you have apple care because you will need a new hard drive. Set up an appointment to come in to the apple store, they will tell you to go and get data recovery, just ask them to give you the old hard drive. Unless you have an up to date backup in which case you can just restore from that. If you're lucky the only issue is with the boot sector which means that if you ask them to give you the old hard drive, you can buy an enclosure and you have effectively been given a free external hard drive. It still works to store data just not to load an operating system.
If you have a back up drive bring it to the apple store and they'll do the whole thing right there, it should take around an hour and a half but may take longer.
Hope this helps, it's annoying but it's your safest bet.
    All the best.

  • Premiere Pro CC hangs on splash screen  "loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle"

Premiere Pro CC hangs on splash screen  "loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle"
This happened before when I had CS6. I'm now using CC and haven't had problems until now. I again get the hang up while loading. Previously I trashed the loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle file and this solved the problem.
I tried to contact support. I thought my subscription to CC included support, apparently not.
    Anyone else have this Problem?
    Brian

    Thanks for the response Kevin.
    I tried repairing permissions.
I recently installed OSX 10.8.4 but I've been succesfully using PP since then. PP is up to date v7.0.1
I have read the other forum posts on this.
Again, this problem cropped up using PP CS6, but I was able fix it using this procedure:
    1. Go to Applications
    2. Go to Adobe Premiere CS6
    3. Right click on the application and click on “Show Package Contents”
    4. Go to Contents –> Plug-ins –> Common
    5. Move the following files to the desktop: ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle and ImporterQuicktimeHost.bundle
    6. Restart Adobe Premiere CS6 and it will successfully open up
    This no longer fixes it.
I desperately need to get back to work.
Even though I feel Adobe support should be included in a CC subscription, I'm considering purchasing Adobe Bronze support with a max wait time of 4 hours and only alloted phone calls for  $175
    thanks anyway

My MacBook pro is stuck on white screen after shut down. Now, neither this is turn on nor turn off.

You should be able to turn off your MBP by pressing the power button down continously for about 5-10 sec. When you reboot it you are going to want to enter into a terminal screen. Hopefully the following YouTube video helps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKOX72xNmbo

  • X305-q706 Stuck on splash screen where is says "Qosmio" with please wait...

    Hi,
recently bought a Qosmio x305-Q706. First time I booted it up it gets to the splash screen with Qosmio displayed with "please wait" at the bottom and hangs there forever. The only way I can get it to boot is to cold boot it and mash the F12 key while it's loading the splash screen, if i'm lucky I can get into the option where u can choose which device to boot, and if I manually choose the harddrive I can load windows.
Anyone hear of this issue or how to fix it? I've tried changing settings in the BIOS nothing. To Re-iterate, it's stuck on the pslash screen with Qosmio displayed, and if I press any key on the keyboard once it says "Please wait..." it just brings me to the bios :( .
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello
It is very stupid situation and I really cannot understand why notebook hangs on this start-up level.
Somehow is your Qosmio confused and cannot make decision which device should be first bootable device.
Is some external device connected to your Qosmio notebook?
Maybe BIOS update can help but if you have brand new notebook this is not solution. This is newest notebook and I presume there is latest BIOS version. So, if I were you I would contact either your local dealer and ask for replacement or Toshiba service directly. This behaviour is definitely not strange and notebook somehow hangs on BIOS POST (Power-On-Self-Test).

  • A135 stuck at splash screen

Normal shutdown; when i bootm, the comp is stuck at the Toshiba splash screen. F2 won't respond; f12 , if I tap repeatedly wwill say 'entering ..." but stays there (the splash screen.). It is not responding to the recovery disk. Lights say HD, battery, etc. are all good. Ideas?

    1) Try removing only the battery, leave the AC plugged in, power on.
    2) Try unplugging the AC, leave the battery in, power on.
    3) Try unplugging AC, remove the battery, remove both RAM modules, replace one RAM module in a different spot, replace battery & AC, power on. Repeat this process until you have tried each RAM module alone in each slot. See the installing/removing RAM directions starting on page 47 of your Satellite® A130/A135 Series User’s Guide.
    4) If none of the above works it could be a corrupt BIOS.

    5) As your system is likely off warranty, perhaps you should consider paying a professional for a diagnostic:
    Locate a Service Center
    Good luck.

  • Premiere Pro CC - Hangs on splash screen / slow startup

    Hey everyone,
I recently asked another question about CC, but here's another one that's been annoying me since when I first subscribed.
Premiere Pro, in fact, any CC product I use, takes forever to load on startup. When it loads the splash screen it hangs (with no message) for a few minutes at a time before launching the application. I've checked the process and the software is using a consistent amount of CPU. I can only assume it's stuck in some sort of loop while trying to communicate with the activation server, but that's just guesswork on my part. The problem is exactly the same as this user here demonstrates: http://youtu.be/TeE6FBCzrqI
It's more annoying than anything, but for a subscription product it's rather bothersome. It's downright embarassing if a client comes over... and I wonder if it might be tied to some other compatibility issues I've been having.
I've been using CS6 in the mean time, but have to deliver a session through CC now. If anyone's experienced similar problems I'd really appreciate hearing your solutions. Running Windows 7.
    Thank you!

    Hi Kevin,
Thanks so much for your reply! I've reset the preferences in the past and did so again after your suggestion, but no luck. I even went into the AppData folder to remove the preferences sub-folder altogether. It still hangs and acts as "Not responding" for several minutes before startup.
I wonder if there's any connection between this issue and a second issue I'm having with CC not being able to play ProRes files. http://forums.adobe.com/message/5845690#5845690
In any case, I uninstalled every Adobe Product on my machine, ran the Adobe cleaner successfully, then re-installed Premiere Pro CC. Unfortunately, nothing seems to have changed.

This morning I restarted my workstation and when it rebooted I was unable to launch Premiere Pro CC. It gets stuck on the purple splash screen that normally loads all of the assets. After a while, it says "Premiere Pro CC is not working" and gives me a crash log. I'll post the crash log but first I'll list some of the things i've tried to fix this..

Hey everyone. I'm having the exact same issues. I've been using Premiere Pro CC for over a year, and only just recently started having issues with it.  Now, every time I launch it crashes(not responding) before it even gets to the project screen.
    I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    Intel i7 4820k 3.70 Ghz Processor
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 graphics card with the latest drivers. 9.18.13.4052
    8 GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all graphics drivers as well as Premiere with no luck.
I then uninstalled every single Adobe application, including CC.  Then reinstalled CC and Premiere by themselves.  Still no luck.
