Toshiba Tempero wants to change computer every time while booting

So, I click yes and command prompt flashes up for a second, then disappears.
This normal?

Hi
You can disable the Tempro from startup.
Do this in msconfig.
In Run type msconfig and then choose the tab Startup.
Here uncheck the tempro and reboot the unit.
Thats all.

  • Facetime wants access to keychain every time I boot up.

Every morning, Facetime wants access and I say no.  Then the window comes up again, and I say no.  I have to either accept, accept always, or decline.  No decline always and it's always two times every morning.
How can I get it to stop asking me this?
    Thank you!
    Dave

Well, the thing is I don't use Facetime, so I don't know why it wanted permanent access to my keychain.  We'll see on Monday when I start my computer again if it asks me twice.
    Thanks!

To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - key the keys down until the iPod/iPhone is listed under the Devices list in iTunes - this will prevent a sync from taking place and you will be able to change your settings.

  • When I updated my Mac, it won't connect to the internet when I've closed all Safari windows. I have to restart the computer every time to make it work.

Every time I update my Mac different problems occur. This time when I got an update notification, I went ahead and updated what it wanted. Now when I'm done browsing the internet and close the windows and try to open a new one, it says the internet isn't working. I checked the network diagnostics and it says everything is working fine. I've noticed I have to restart my computer every time to get it the internet to work now. This never happened before I did the update.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable. Boot in safe mode. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During startup, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all, perhaps including wireless networking on certain Macs. If you usually connect to the Internet via WiFi, and it doesn’t work in safe mode, connect using an Ethernet cable. If you can’t do that, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and perform a safe login, as follows: Enter your credentials at the login screen, then hold down the shift key and click the “Log in” button. Keep holding the key until the menu bar appears. In this mode, your login items, among other things, won’t load.
In safe mode, launch Safari and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot (if you booted in safe mode) or log out/log in (if you performed a safe login) as usual.

  • I lost my labview CD and changed computer long time ago

I lost my labview CD and changed computer long time ago. I bought labview student edition 8.6 years ago and I lost both the CD and the computer. Now I want to use the software again but I cant find were to download it or how to activate it. I have in my e-mail the activation codes but they dont seem to work. what can I do? thanks for your time

    Hello Darent,
The activation codes are specific to each computer, so if you changed your PC, you need to generate new activation codes or activate your software using the serial number.
You can register your serial number on the next page, so you can download versions of LabVIEW activated with that serial number.

  • How do I keep my email password from remaining in Preferences? I want to enter it every time I get my mail. I upgraded to OS M Lion but it won't let me delete it from preferences. It's worked prior to using M. Lion. Any suggestions? Thanks!! Jen

How do I keep my email password from remaining in Preferences? I want to enter it every time I get my mail. I upgraded to OS M Lion but it won't let me delete it from preferences (the password from Account Info). Once you enter the password, it keeps it permanently. i do not want that.  It's worked prior to using M. Lion. Any suggestions? Also, The other pressing issue i have is, I DO NOT want ANY mail showing in my inboxes when Mail starts UNTIL i enter that password for each account. Instead of creating different user accounts for the MacBook, it's just easier this way. Or is it? If this is a permanent thing, then I may switch back to Lion. I guess I shoud've waited until the kinks were out before installing (**** Mac-head!)
Thank you all kindly for any suggestions & your time
    Regards,
    JC

I DO NOT want ANY mail showing in my inboxes when Mail starts UNTIL i enter that password for each account.
That is simply not possible with Mail, and never has been.  Anyone who uses your account can see all messages stored in Mail.  The only true solution is to not let other people use your account.  Let other people use the guest account, or if you share the machine with someone else, set up a separate user account for that person.  This will also solve the problem of remembering the password.  It will become a non-issue for Mail to remember your password if nobody else has access to your account.

Saving a Pages document: when I first save a pages document it saves and I don't know where it goes or what its name is.  I want to be asked every time I save a pages document what to name it and where to save it. How do I set this preference?

I'll guess that you've used a page layout document & pasting created a text box. You can add more pages & create linked text boxes, but I think you'd be better of using a word processing document. In word processing documents there is a basic text layer & additional pages will be created as needed to fit the text. Take a look at the toolbar of your document. If it says "sections" for the +page icon it's a word processing document, if it says "pages" it's a page layout document.

after upgrading my iphone4 to ios7.04, the 'restore' in itunes seems to be going round in circles resulting in the iphone wanting to continually 'restore' every time. Whats happening here?

    Hello Filbert,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone wanting to continually restore.  I found an article with steps to address the issue you described:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please try to troubleshoot security software issues.

  • Device changes UUID every time it is mounted

I have a Cowon S9 that changes UUID every time I plug it in. Can anyone tell me what is causing this or and how to fix it? The drive is formatted using the msdos option in disk utility.
    Here is the system log:
    Dec 24 00:33:14 JHMBP fseventsd[35]: checkvol_last_modtime:XXX failed to get mount time (25; &mount_time == 0x10043f8b8)
    Dec 24 00:33:14 JHMBP fseventsd[35]: log dir: /Volumes/COWON S9/.fseventsd getting new uuid: 03DC40AE-7107-4007-8A23-A6212C41E889

I don't see the UUID listed in either of the info files for the disk or partition. (attached below)
The drive does work fine, but I'm trying to change(create) the fstab file so that it does not automatically mount that particular drive and the UUID is a useful way to do that if it's not constantly changing.
Thanks for the help by the way.

  • TS3284 This apple fix is crazy, I have to this every time I boot the computer, is this right, is there another way to permanently make my calibrated profile automatically boot too !

This profile fix suggested by apple as a workaround to set calibrated profiles is most un Apple like, I have to do this preference/colur fix every time I boot, Is there a better way to have my preferred profile  boot too !

Are you in fact using 10.7.3? The article you link to was for a once-off problem after an upgrade to 10.6.3.
How did you make the custom profile? I would suggest deleting any non-Apple profiles, remake your profile, and see does it auto-load on boot.
If it doesn't, then immediately after boot run console.app and scan through the console messages from the boot process and see are any relevant ones being posted. Then repost your problem details in one of the 10.7 (Lion) forums.

how do i close the open windows, so they don't open up every time i boot up

Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it.
Disable Lion’s Resume Checkbox When Shutting Down [Video How-To] | Cult of Mac
Also, open General preferences where you will find a couple of checkbox options.
