Toshiba TV Model 50L1350U wireless

1st let me say I have apparently mislaid the user manual since I can't find it in the rest if the paperwork. 2nd -I did search the internet version of the manual. BUT it's 120 Pgs long...
Now... Can anyone tell me:
1. Does this model have wireless capabilities?
2. If it does not, will a USB wireless adapter work?
3. Any other options?
Thx

No, the TV doesn't have the capabiltiies. You'd need to connect a device that has Internet capabilities.

  • Model 50L1350U Horizontal Lines

    Hello,
I have a Model 50L1350U LCD TV that is just over 1 year old (and out of warranty, of course) and am experiencing horizontal lines on the bottom 1/4 of the screen.  After going through the diognostics tests listed on-line, I still have this issue.  I then installed the latest firmware and still have the problem.  After this, I called tech support and they informed me that for $35 I can have them do a diognostic test that will determine the problem.  Then, I can take it to an "authorized repair" shop for repairs??? Where they will do the same diognostic test?!?!  The repairs for the LCD (which it probably is) will probably cost as much as the TV itself!!!
I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the quality of this TV and feel that it is very crappy to have a TV that is practically new fail.  My experience with this company has jaded me from ever purchasing another Toshiba product again!!!
    Sincerely,
    Upset Consumer

My TV experienced the same problem about two weeks ago...after warranty. I used my Visa Card to purchase it and they extend the manufactures warranty an additional year. I called the customer service number on the back of my card and they gave me a warranty number to call. I had to provide a copy of the original sales slip, copy of the Visa statement showing the purchase (my Visa provider, Chase, has five years of statements online) and a copy of the manufactures warranty (you can get this online if you no longer have it.) I emailed all of this to them and they emailed me a one page form to sign and return.
I had an onsite service call which I paid for. The technician said it was the display screen and they would email me a repair estimate. The estimate was for way more than the original purchase price. I emailed it to the warranty company and followed up with a phone call. The underwriters will review and indicated if the repair price is close to or greater than the original price they would probably have me purchase a new TV. I have not heard the final reply from the underwriters yet but it looks like I will probably get a new TV.
Hope this solution may work for you also.

  • Tv no power: Model 50L1350U

I have had this tv since feb 2014 the latest, and this morning it will not power on, toshiba says they might charge to fix, RIDICULIOUS Model 50L1350U any suggestions? I can't call the warranty department for another 2 hours to give my case number to see if they will fix it for free.

Have the Tv and running sorta of.  If you remove cover remove back cover, you can leave stand rod connected but remove bottom pannel if you can't get rod screws to be remove. One striped. Instanded by installers with electric screw driver.  Then pry carefully from little openings (two) X 4 plus two where stand mounts across the bottom. Carefully pry up around back cover. I started Led side and pried up by lifting cover then big pop and it came off. Whew.   There is a circuit board behind stand cover but forget it, it is for back lights.  The board on right is audio/video/ control.   Power supply is large board. Before I go further: DANGER:  Large capacitor has about 150 volts Dc across it when your system is unplugged which decreases very slowly if at all, depending on your problem.  IF you remove board and have it in your hands, large instanteous amps will knock the stew out of you.     Take an insulated screw driver gloves and discharge cap WITH TV UN PLUGGED after you have waited and shorted AC plug tip to ground. It will go bang if you do not waiT!!i     10.7 v DC across both legs during normal operation.  If you read 10.7 volts then your curcuit is working across both sides of large Cap, and circuit is waiting for an enable pulse from remote.  I was able to get TV to run but not reliable on start upfor the pressent.. Started last night. I have mapped all voltages and everything in power supply when running normally. When waiting for enabling signal, left side of board has no voltages. but running the diodes top left put out 109.2 volts and bottom diodes left side put out 70.5volts dc and 27.5v dc bottom. The secret in starting is pin 14 on top left connecto rif it has  5.1 vdc it is ready to go with remote. I removed boards first and to my surprise, they look beautiful. No bad solder joints. Do use an eraser on silver screw points on bottom of circuits boards to clean  grounds.  I still haven't found exact cause of trouble but only worked on it about an hour and a half. Watching it now.  If it runs, this means all your boards are good but something is not latching and enable signal is not reaching power supply board, in my case now, sometimes... All functions on my TV are working beautifully and yours probally is too if it isn't starting..  I will try to fix exact problem  next few days (wifes Birthday) have to drop this for a while. Already know how to make it run for me.  (Electonic Engineer retired)

  • Toshiba TV model 32AV502RZ

Hello. I just purchased 2nd-hand a marvelous Toshiba TV model 32AV502RZ. It is in great condition and the picture image is excellent. From what I can tell, it appears to be running perfectly well, but I do not get a User Manual with it.     Where can I find one online?  I would also like to know whether there have been firmware upgrades which may not have been applied, but I am not sure of that. My primary purpose for it is for use as a secondary monitor on my PC. Thanks.

  • Model BEFW11S4 wireless router just stopped working with Mac; still works with Windows

I have the above model Linksys wireless router, hard connected to a Windows XP Pro desktop unit. I also have a Windows XP Home laptop. My wife has a Mac PowerBook laptop. On Thursday last week her laptop started having trouble connecting to Internet. Problem is intermittent--sometimes can get on and sometimes now. When on it might connect to a web site normally or sometimes takes a long (as in loooooong) time connecting. My XP Home laptop continues to connect quickly and will move from one URL to another easily; no problems. She took the PowerBook to Panera and got on the Internet with no trouble. She was on for at least a half hour and suffered no outage or slow-downs. Came back home; got the same problems as before. Only thing that has changed is a big snow on Thursday, same day as the trouble started. The relationship is probably non-existent, but it's the only thing different from Wednesday (when working well) to Thursday (when started having trouble). Any thoughts? I naturally welcome any responses. Thanks, Michael Plog

Hello people. I'm having the same weird trouble: I'm having this BEFW11S4 to which I connect via another wireless AP and a switch a Windows XP PC and a MacBook Pro computer (both with Ethernet cable connected to the switch, to which the AP is connected). Both the above computers work seamlessly, but sometimes the other iMac I have in WLAN doesn't surf anymore. It can ping both MacBook Pro and Windows XP PC, but doesn't anymore ping the BEFW11S4. Wireless connection is crypted with WEP-64 bit key. When this is happening, also from the Windows XP PC I cannot get on the web interface of the BEFW11S4. It seems to be "locked" somehow. After unplugging the power and re-plugging it in, everything works again also on the iMac. Anybody managed to solve this issue? What version of Firware do you guys have? I have 1.50.13... regards.

  • Toshiba Portégé R830 wireless On/Off switch (Fn+F8) not working

    Hello...
I have posted this on the Wi-Fi troubleshooting forum, but it's not getting any bites.
Just in case anyone has found a solution, here is the link to the original post:
    http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Port%C3%A9g%C3%A9-Laptops/Booting-with-Wi-Fi-off/td-p/206448
I work for a large coporation and have purchased hundreds of Toshiba Portégé R830s and Toshiba Tecra R850s and we have installed our corporate image on them (Windows XP) and cannot seem to get be able to turn the wireless card on and off using the the Fn+F8 Key Combination. The light is  I've attached an image of all the utilities and what order we are installing them in, after installing these utilities it is still not working. Are there additional utilities we should be installing? The model we have has the Intel Wi-Fi chip (not the Atheros one) in it and we are using the latest Intel Wireless LAN Driver from the Toshiba site (14.0.2.2.1.x32_wCAT)  . The Wi-Fi light just stays on all the time and we can connect to a wifi hotspot. But, we would like to be able to turn the wireless on and off with the Fn+F8 Key Combination. If anyone can provide any help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

just to agree you are not alone with that problem
lots of users including me are complaining in the web!
and it's not only your devices where it is not working.
myself never got a sufficient answer either
    http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Port%C3%A9g%C3%A9-Laptops/R700-Fn-F8-WLan-on-off-nuisance/m-p/185552#M1...
disregard all suggestions to reinstall all software in the 'right order'
whatever that is anyway. its a waste of time.
so I disable it via device manager (despite that the light will stay on!)
    shortcut: devmgmt.msc
Toshiba decided to swab from a hardware button to a buggy software switch.
because its ON by default the majority of users do not care/complain.
for that reason Toshiba does not bother to sort that problem properly out
too. they had plenty of time for it already...

  • Unable to autoconnect to Wifi network after installing Windows update 8.1 - Toshiba Satellite - Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG-netwerkverbinding

Hello, got a problem connecting to my wifi: every time I start up my Laptop (5 year old Toshiba Satellite L300) the wificonnections are listed but windows is unable to connect to the WIFI. Wificonnection states unable to connect, after running Windows Network
Control the issue is found en the WIFI connects correctly.
I need to run the troubleshooter every time after staring up windows in order to get my wifi running, this is rather annoying..
Does anybody have a solution? I downloaded and installed the latest driver from intel, and also tried to enter below without any improvement.
netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
     see below error report:

    Hi,
With the google translate, It seems that you are facing with the following problem:
A network cable is not connected correctly or may be damaged
Problem with wireless adapter or access point
For this issue, I suggest you try the following steps:
Try with another account, or test with another system, another cable.
    Reinstall network adapter.
Open  Device Manager then Network Adaptors, find the wireless NIC and choose properties then open the power management tab and uncheck the one that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
Test this issue in safe mode with networking
Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
Does this work? and I would be appreciate if you could update the diagnostics with English.

  • Compaq Laptop Model: CQ56-115DX versus Toshiba Netbook Model: NB505-N500BL

I'm looking to see which one of these is best on performance only since I know the laptop is bigger then the netbook. Both are the same price. It seems like the Compaq would be a no brainer until you read the reviews on each. Toshiba has better reviews by far even though the Compaq looks more powerful from the specs. This would mainly be used for web browsing and facebook gaming. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello,
Best Buy has brought your posting to my attention as you would like to purchase from Best Buy the HP CQ56-115DX versus a Toshiba netbook.   I am pleased to know that you are interested in purchasing an HP notebook.  HP is very proud of its line of products which its reps are encouraged to promote without criticizing its competitors.   The two products are different.  Do want a notebook or a netbook?  Redwyv provides a valuable posting of the pros and cons in:
    http://www.forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Computers-Home-Networking/Help-What-laptop-is-right-for-me/m-p/2815...
You will see in the above link, the similarly priced HP Mini Netbook, Model 210.
And as Redwyv has stated in this posting, you do have 14 days to return the product to Best Buy.
Based on your posting, I probably shouldn't distract you from your two choices as it appears you have already done your own research and have narrowed down your choice based primarily on price.  I am sure you have noticed the significant difference in screen size and memory.  You mentioned doing some Facebook gaming.  The fact that you specified "Facebook gaming" indicates you are aware of the requirements for more "intensive" (for lack of a better word) gaming.
You do comment that the HP laptop is certainly more powerful, but you have read negative reviews.  There are also some very strong reviews for the CQ56-115DX.  You can find a summary of reviews at:
    http://www.zdnet.com/reviews/product/laptops/compaq-presario-cq56-115dx-v-series-v140-23-ghz-156-tft...
Let me know if you need additional information.

  • Model 600 wireless-N signal fluctuates

    Dear Folks,
I work for a grading contractor here in North Carolina and my job is to get their offices hooked up to the internet.  Unfortunately, I’m having a strange situation with the wireless network I am trying to hook up.  The facility at which I work has three physical buildings.  I’ll call them A, B and C.  Building A is wired for internet access so I bought the Linksys 600 wireless-N router which I hook directly to my cable modem.  All the PCs that are wireless in building A work great.  They all have the WUSB300N wireless antennas.
Building B is about 75 feet from building A.  In that building, we have one PC with the WUSB300N antenna.  The antenna in Building B is in the window and directly faces the model 600 router in building A.  It is in a direct line of site.  You can look out the building B window and clearly see the 600 router.
Building C is about 125 feet from building A and there is one PC in that building and it has a WUSB300N antenna.  The antenna in Building C is up on the second floor in front of an open gable vent.  You can see the model 600 router in building A from the gable vent so it too is in a direct line of sight, just further away.  And now for the situation.
As I mentioned, the PCs in building A have no communication problems.  They work great.  The PCs in Buildings B and C get intermittent reception.  They start out with a GOOD reception and then it goes down to LOW and then VERY LOW and then it is gone.  A few minutes later, it comes back to GOOD.  This happens all day long.  At first, I thought that there could be something wrong with the 600 router in building A but what is really strange is there are two other Linksys wireless routers in the neighborhood that I “see” (both are G’s) and when our model 600 signal disappears, so do all the other signals from the neighbors’ routers.  It seems as though our building could be in an RF dead area or there is something killing the air in which these signals travel.  Has any one ever seen a problem like this before?  Thank you for your time!  Chris

The WUSB300N is a 2.4 GHz only device, so any microwave, cordless phone, etc can degrade your reception (just as with the wireless G/B devices).
A WUSB600N is a dual band just like your WRT600N, and there is less noise on the 5 GHz frequencies.  Also on the WRT600N, you can safely set the 5 GHz band to wireless-N only and keep the 2.4 GHz band as mixed mode (to cover wireless b/g and 2.4 GHz only n).  Just keep in mind at 5 GHz any solid object (including your hand), in front of the antenna can degrade the speed.
Changing channels might work, reducing external noise on 2.4 GHz will be the best bet if it not a channel conflict (move the microwaves and other devices, or notice if they are being used when it degrades).
