Total crash...will not restart...never happened before in 8 years
For the first time ever, Firefox has crashed and will not restart. I have no idea why and it just happened today. The result is hideous, I am a business man and this has basically shut me down. I love Firefox and it's ethos but the only drawback is finding someone to connect with who will accept responsibility when it all goes wrong. It's really not as easy a process as you might think - or might wish us to think? What the hell do I do to get a quick reliable fix please?
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!

I have a new computer. I transferred all my data files and installed my programs. Now, when I try to print a page ti pdf using Adobe Acrobat 9, Firefox crashes, and Adobe hangs up.
Thanks for your reply cor-el. I had never heard of nor seen the pref network.http.max-connections until I read about it in some of the replies in this support forum. People were saying 256 was the old setting and a new setting of 48 would correct my problem. When I followed the instructions to get to - see - and change the setting I discovered that my network.http.max-connections was already set to 48. I never did this. The only way I can think of that this setting was changed is that it happened by an automatic update to my Firefox browser. So, the problem I have was probably happening while this setting was at 48 all along. It is still set at 48 and I am still having the same problem. I will try as you suggest and set it to 30 and see what happens. I'll let you know the results. That's again for your response.

IPad Air 2 crashed will not restart
My ipad Air 2 crashed tonight. Went to white screen with logo. I tried soft reset. Did not work. Tried the hard reset did not work. Now it's just stuck on white screen with logo. I have tried it all. I do not have a computer to hook it up to for iTunes as I am on holiday vacation. What can I do?
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
Z10 crashed and will not restart: manual security swipe
Hi,
The other day my Z10 simply crashed (was not being used at the time). Since then the phone will not restart. The boot process gets to 99% and then stops (waited over 36 hours for something to happen). I have removed the battery, waited a couple of minutes and reinstalled the battery, but no luck. The phone does not restart.
I have to send the phone to my provider and will get a replacment. However I would like to do a security swipe to remove all personal data. Is there a "button", which would allow me to manually swipe the phone's memory/reset the phone to factory settings (OS will not boot, so the standard procedure using Settings/Security... will not work)?
Thank you for any help you may provide.Hi:
Thank you for your reply.
I backed up my device a few hours before my phone crashed.
I cannot connect my phone to BB Link on my computer, because my phone will not boot. As my computer cannot recognize my phone when connected, a software wipe (via BB Link desktop or Settings/Security & Privacy) will not work. -
I was playing music and all the sudden my ipad turned off and will not turn back on.THe batterie was at 80% and this has never happened before, it still won't turn on even when charging
WHat do i do?Does a Reset work? Mostly unlikely! [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!

Note the sentence commencing, 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page. -
Safari on my iPad says service temporarily unavailable. This has now happened two days in a row. What can I do to correct this? It has never happened before in 7 months of owning my iPad. I bought a wireless Logitech keyboard, but that should not affect Safari? It worked earlier in the day yesterday with then keyboard.

Also if I ever have to reboot again, is there some way to save the apps I have on my iPad? I did choose the option to back up prior to restarting, but apps had to be manually re-entered?
This has me confused. Rebooting the iPad (holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen) should not in any way, shape or form, remove content from the iPad.
Then you stated that you chose the option to back up before restarting? There is no option to backup before "restarting" on the iPad. Are you restoring the device in iTunes? -
Hello,
Thanks for any help you may have. LR 4.4 worked perfectly on iMac 27' OSX 10.8.5 for 1.5 years until October this year when shut downs began when making adjustments on primarily exposure and shadow sliders. Unit would not restart unless rebooting surge protector(s) after 10-15 minute wait. Apple replaced main board and cleared disc. Back-up and LR 4 reloaded and updated to 4.4.1. New surge protection or direct into receptacle makes no difference and shutdown happens immediately upon slider movement. Any suggestions or self checks an old guy can possibly do? It is Educator/student version.Hello and thanks for the reply.
The entire computer shuts down and will not restart without a reset of the new (and previous) surge protector or if plugged directly to the wall receptacle anywhere from 30 minute to overnight reset before on button restart will work. Other than slider adjustments on LR, it has only shut down one other time when loading photos via USB 3.0 cable to LR. All images from camera are in RAW. Apple tried to replicate this earlier this week with LR but could not read anything other than an increased usage on one of the diagnostic meters when the sliders were moved quickly from side to side.
Other computer functions are normal and rarely used except for e-mail, web search, and 90% LR. Plenty of memory in reserve.
Considering two upgrades (1) LR 5 to get new camera profiles (Pentax K-3)
(2)Yosemite OSX if it would help the LR4.4 or LR5 actually behave
Hope this helps illustrate the dilemma and thanks for your support. -
My Ipad Mini with retina display has crashed and will not restart.
My Ipad Mini with retina display has crashed and will not restart.Only the white screen with the apple logo will appear. This comes and goes randomly. I've tried resetting by holding the front and top buttons. I've also tried resetting using itunes. Neither had any effect, The Ipad was a christmas present and only worked for several hours, the apple store can not look at it for another week. Is this a common occurance? I thought apple products were expensive because they never had problems.
Call Apple and explain as it is new. They will go over things to try and fix over the iPad over the phone. If they need to fix it they should send you a new one and you put the old one in thePrepaid return box they send you and send back the defective iPad for no cost. This is what they did with my first iPad 1st gen. I had. Unless they changed their policy you will get the box within a day or two and have your replacement for it the same day.
I hope how they helped me is the same for you. Good luck. -

please help me my ipod nano 7g went off and will not start, this happened after I connect to my computer, my ipod will restart and I no longer turn on. what I do?
Hey saintbless,
Thanks for the question. The following article outlines troubleshooting information for iPod nano. While it mostly refers to the 6th generation, most steps apply for your model as well:

Will not turn on or screen remains dark
- Connect iPod to power for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has enough charge to allow iPod to turn on.
- If iPod does not turn on after ten minutes, try resetting the device while it is still connected to power. Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button for at least eight seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
- If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
- If the screen remains dark and will not turn on, then your iPod may need service.
Thanks,

i updated the spelling of a song in my itunes but its not reflecting when i check my ipod. this never happened before when after i updated to IOS5. please help.
Try unsyncing the sone and then resyncing. That works sometimes. Sometimes restoring from backup works. Other times nothing seems to work.. Yuo are not alone since iOS5 and iTunes 10.5/6.

I normally use Firefox as my web browser. when I tried to use it, a message appeared that said it had crashed and would restart. I have tried numerous times to restart Firefox and it will not restart. I have even removed the program and downloaded Firefox and it still will not start. Do I have a virus or bug in my computer preventing Firefox from starting?
I can access Firefox using the safe mode, which sucks, but I can not get into my profile. I can not access u6krt2kl my string is mlm303va.default

mid 2011 21.5 inch iMac with lion video=freeze, will not restart for 30-60 minutes , today it took 14 hours before power button would restart it , is anyone else having a long restart after this problem?
Look in Activity Monitor (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor) and see if you have any runaway processes using a lot of %CPU.
I would also strongly recommend running Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode. If it reports errors you can Google them or post them here. -
We updated our phones and now we are running out of memory. Never happened before the update and we have not added anything new. We have hardly anything on our phones. Why am I having to remove stuff that has always been on my phone.
Thanks for the reply TJBUSMC1973.
I guess that means back to the shop. Ridiculous to sell a phone that can't handle the new iOS more efficiently (or vice versa). I can't imagine anyone going near a 5C now (I have a feeling mine had already been used and taken back once and sold as new at O2).
