Total newbie question... Just need some help.

I am wondering how to change a header and have all my sheets (yes, using a template) reflect that change. Also, I made a team roster and I am wondering how to have all my sheets (stats for players) reflect the roster I created. Simple name stuff.

To both of your questions I would say: Have one master sheet and on your other sheets, reference the information on your master sheet. To mirror the contents of a cell in another Table or Sheet, type = and then click on the cell you want to reference.

Ok let me first thank you by taking thr the time to help me. I have a question that seems like it should be simple enough but i just can't figure it out. I'm relatively new to InDesign and I own a small print advertising company. I'm trying to design a flier for a client and I need to put his logo on the page but when I insert it I can't get the white background of the box to go away. I just want to logo, it's an odd shape and I used a photo editing program call GIMP to take it from another advertisment he had and cut it out. I thought it was cut out perfectly, but when I saved it and moved to InDesign I just could figure out how to get rid of the box. It should be simple and I think I am just missing a step or a feature, but I am still learning the program. Please help me. The online guide just confuses me.

I've never used GIMP, but I suspect you haven't save this with a transparent background. What file format did you use? Does the background appear transparent or white in GIMP?
All of that aside, 99% of the time logos are vector illustrations, not raster images, and what you have will have severly degraded quality when it goes to print. You should ask the client to supply the original logo artwork.

Newbie question but need some advice!!!

I Have Flash CS3 and am constructing an SWF for a presentation that will be shown on a TV
The presentation is a large video file with audio already edited and finished
Additionally i need a news ticker across the bottom of the screen to disaply scrolling text like news, events etc.
I'm not too familiar with actionscrip but i was thinking about running the video (FLV) into embedded video in the flash file, and then putting the scrolling ticker over this?
I can get any ticker that pulls from an XML and the embedded video i can already do
The only problem is how do i get the SWF to play full screen? what measurements should i use? is there a standard?
It will be running on a windows 7 laptop and hooked up to a 42" LCD TV
Or is there a better way of doing this completely?
Any advice would be greatly appreaciated!

Unfortunately I dont have After Effects and the ticker will be changing every few days so the XML will be a definite need rather than static.
As for the fullscreen issue - I somehow need to get the SWF to play fullscreen on the laptop without browser window bars as this will then be connected to TV and VGA output used
I assume I can just open the SWF in Flash Player and set to full-screen yeah?
I suppose I can mess with stage sizes to fill the screen as much as possible first so englargement is kept to a minimum

Iphoto questions i need some help please

I just bought a IMAC desk top how do I create a subfolder in the photo also I tried to create a "new Photo by pressing Option

iPhoto does not make the process for creating sub-folders easy but it can be done. Follow this process -
Create (if it does not already exist) the folder you want to be at the top level and name it. You can do this by going to the File menu and selecting New Folder.
Create the folder you want to place inside of the top level one using the same command. This will put the new folder outside of the top level one.
Drag the new folder and drop it into the top level folder.
Not exactly intuitive but it does work.

Hi, i am a bit of a newbie at AS & need some help applying it to a movie clip button

I have created a movie clip button but am stuck with the actionscript. I have created the rollover and rollout for this movie clip button but i want it to do 2 things after this i want it to go and stop on the first frame of a movieclip which has my content on it called portfoliogallery_mc (which is also the same instance name for it) when you then click the button i want it to go and play frame 11 of that movie clip portfolio gallery_mc.
Here is my current actionscript i HAVE Flash 8 on my comp that i am currently using.
Please note my actions are on a layer called actions and not on the movieclip button itself.

currently it is playing to frame 11 not stopping at frame 1 and stops on frame 20 where i have a stop action. I also have a stop action on frame 1 of that movie clip.
What I want it to do is first stop at frame 1 of that movie clip and when the button is clicked again to go and play frame 11 of that same movie clip.
Basically what i want the mc button to do is 2 things automatically stop the mc for the first content and when button is clicked let the content fad out and play to where the next stop action is set to in the Movie Clip.

Cannot get slide show in full screen mode to come up on secondary monitor regardless of how I set up show it always opens on primary screen. Need some help here.

Slide show in PowerPosint for mac 2011 on iMac will not open full screen mode on secondary monitor. Regardless of how I set the slide show preferences it always opens on primary monior with secondardy monitor having totally balck screen. Need some help if anyone else has run into this problem.

Totally Clueless & Need some help!

Ok so i have my first Macbook Pro... im not a computer wizz and really know nothing about them. So i need some help!
I have tried to install Snow Leopard and the installation finishes but nothing has changed? I dont have any of the new functions im still running on the normal Safari not Safari4, I have tried to download Safari4 but it says "Safari cannot be installed on this disk, this update requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or newer"
I went into the apple menu and into 'about this mac' and it says im running on OS X 10.6.
Its like it has installed SL.. but nothing has been actually installed properly!
HELP! And dumb it down for me!!! LOL

If I open my MacBook Pro 10.6 SL in the normal manner then go to About This Mac > More Info > Software, the System Software Overview among other things shows. 64-bit Kernel and Extensions: No.
If I Restart my computer holding down the 6 and 4 keys the answer then becomes Yes.
My question is do I really have to concern myself about this or, can I just start my computer in the normal manner and forget the No or Yes?

Ask in the ID forum and be much more specific about your configuration. there could be any number of reasons why manifests, temp files or restore files are created.

The best overall art styles plugin for PS is probably AlienSkin's SnapArt. I'd say their filters are a cut above Photoshop's which are old and have never been updated.

Please I need some help with a table

Hi All
I need some help with a table.
My table needs to hold prices that the user can update.
Also has a total of the column.
my question is if the user adds in a new price how can i pick up the value they have just entered and then add it to the total which will be the last row in the table?
I have a loop that gets all the values of the column, so I can get the total but it is when the user adds in a new value that I need some help with.
I have tried using but as I need to set the toal with something like total
    totalTable.setValueAt(total, totalTable.getRowCount()-1,1); I end up with an infinite loop.
Can any one please advise on some way I can get this to work ?

Need some help with GUI development

Hi ppl.. I am new to labview and I am currently involved in a testing equipment development. I need some help. firstly I need to know if multi-screen GUI (with icons and stuff)is possible in Labview. Secondly I need to interface the measurements to a database. Would it be possible to create just small executable to perform the measurement part alone and do the rest of database operation using VB. (or would it be advisable to do the whole lot in labview)
the final sft should look something like this
screen1 :setup screen... interface with database
screen2 :actual test and test results
screen3 :log file creation
measurement is via daq board and i also need to send some control signals and set up TCP/IP for data transfer.

I am not completely sure what you mean by "multi-screen", but I am pretty sure that doing the user interface using a tab control will work for you. I have attached an example VI which is a state machine (which in LabVIEW you do with a case structure inside a while loop). Notice how the configuration controls are in the first page of the tab control, associated with state 0 of the state machine, but in the block diagram, they are actually used in state 1 of the state machine. Instead of writing a very long description, I will let you take a look at the code (which I saved in LV 7.0 version). Let me know if you have questions or comments

Need some help and guidance please!

I desperately need some help because I am at my wits end. In September I purchased a Compaq Presario CQ60-450US. Shortly after purchasing, I fresh installed Windows 7 Professional. Recently I decided to tried to dual boot ubuntu on the machine only to find that the installation failed because of CD read error. I know for a fact that the CD is not the issue because I have used this CD three other times to install ubuntu thus I came to the conclusion that the CD/DVD drive was bad.
I called HP support to get a new CD/DVD drive replaced only to spend 2 hours on the phone with a individual that decided to troubleshoot first trying to install ubuntu remotely (I informed the indiviual that the remote session would end), then by playing a DVD and "skipping throughout" the movie. He/she said that she could see no issue. (no diagnostic was run)I informed the individual that I had issues with buring as well. He/she proceeded to go online and install software asking me to demonstrate the issue after which the call got dropped mysteriously.
I called HP support back and told them that I am having an issue now burning. They proceed to connect remotely and look at the software the previous support individual downloaded and said that the software was not supported by HP. I informed the individual that I give permission to install any software needed to troubleshoot but the individual said that I could not be suppoted because I wasn't using the OS installed by HP. I was instructed to recover my machine to the OS that was installed with the machine if I was to continue to get support.
I informed the individual that the drivers and software are the same for either OS considering the CD/DVD rom is a plug and play device. The individual refused to help and told me I had lost my warranty because of my decision to install an OS directly from Microsoft or a third paper vendor.
That is where I stand. HP is refusing to give me support because I am not running their Vista Home edition even though my issue is hardware. I cannot find any warrent information stating that I need to have the original operating system installed on the machine to receive support. Can anyone point me to a reputable division that can help me with my issue? I feel I was just thrown aside so that they don't have to initiate a repair. If not has anyone filed a compalint against this outrageous support requirement?

I would like to say that I have some good -- or at least encouraging -- advice. Regretfully, I do not. I had issues with my dv7 practically since purchasing it a year ago specifically so I would have a reliable computer for school. My first problem: I bought my laptop a mere 7 weeks before HP started offering their free upgrade to Windows 7. Consequently, I was forced to purchase the full installation retail or continue to deal with the wonton freezes and system failures that inevitably occurred while I was working on homework -- courtesy of HP's installation of Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Thankfully, I was able to purchase a copy of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit through a significant student discount offer from Microsoft, and I had my new OS downloaded the evening of October 23, 2009; I had to give their servers time to free up, since it seemed like everyone and their dogs were also downloading what the reviews posted on CNET and PC World touted as being more reliable. I recall (I can't remember exactly which site this appeared) the statement, "Windows 7 is what Vista should have been from the beginning."
I was all excited and happy now that I had a laptop for school that had everything I was looking for: decent size hard drive, a fair amount of RAM, great 17.3" display with awesome colors, and a CDRW/DVDRW/Blu-Ray disk drive in the bay. Not only was I very satisfied with the hardware; it also came with a decent host of software that are thought was pretty cool, too. It came with CyberLink's DVD Suite 6 that I could activate simply by touching a soft button above the keyboard. Aside from Vista Home Premium crashing on me at the most inopportune times, I was exceedingly happy with my $1000 purchase and investment. Then came the "upgrade" to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit...Because I didn't have a "compatible" version of Vista, I had to do a full ("custom") install. In other words, I lost all of the cool features I originally bought the machine for in the first place...no more cool one-finger's brush software activation (still don't have that working), and HP Chat Support told me the same thing they told you. The following is a direct copy/paste quote from an email response I received from HP Total Care: "In order to help you relevantly I would like to request you to please revert back to Vista operating system and check whether the issue is persisting or not. If the issue is still persisting after reverting the operating system back to vista then we need to perform system recovery."
After pursuing my case for 6 months -- finally getting my case escalated to two HP Customer Care Case Managers in Texas/Oklahoma -- the best "customer support" I received was what I'm sure was a truly heartfelt and sincere apology... Oh, neither case manager was "able" to send me either the true upgrade disks that would have preserved the features purchased, nor were they willing to send me a stand-alone installation of the CyberLink’s DVD Suite 6 that is currently offered with the HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition series. (In massive frustration and anger, I bought the CyberLink’s DVD software - $100 I didn't have to spend on something I had already bought...)
A month later (late March), MY CD-RW/DVD-RW/Blu-Ray drive stopped working. After an hour online with Customer Care, I had finally convinced the rep that the drive was working fine after my ditching Vista Home Premium, and that its failure had absolutely nothing to do with Windows 7 Pro. After giving the guy my credit card number as security, I had a replacement drive shipped to me.
My personal recommendation: clearly state that the hardware failure had nothing to do with whatever software or OS you chose to install. Bottom line: your computer is only 8 months old and is still covered under warranty, they can replace the defective part, or you can return the entire machine. You probably want to be the "Nice Guy" but you need to remind them that you have other brands available to purchase.
I don't know if that helps or not, but thank you for giving me the opportunity to vent! :-)
