i just bought a zen xtra 60 gig, HOW THE HELL DO YOU TRANSFER MUSIC TO THE PLAYER!!?!
im not that much of a pc novice, i can normally sort these things out, but this has confused the hell out of me and the help section hasnt helped. although im sure it is simple
i've ripped a cd, which just seems to have to my pc, what do i do know, i cant find a transfer to player button.

Whoops yes, "Get Info". There's a bug that seems to happen with the MediaSource installer where the CDDB files don't get registered which might be the issue. Try following the guide here on reregistering the files.

With this said, does it make sense to consider a fully optioned MacBook Pro to take the place of a highest-end Thinkpad, to do the above (and more), using a Virtual Machine technology ?
My first months with a Mac would probably be spent in virtual machines as I get with the program, but I really do want to get out of this situation that nobody makes a good PC anymore and the best Wintel box seems to a Mac.

Array methods for a total noob-
Well, not exactly a total noob, I’ve got an old project
in lingo/shockwave (where I have over 10 years experience) that I
need to convert to Flash/AS3 (where I have about a week’s
experience). I’ve got the basic navigation and interface
elements working but I’m getting stuck trying to extract data
out of my primary data structure, a two dimensional array. An
example of the first few lines of the array are attached.
My first task is to write a function that can return a new
one dimensional array, brandList, that contains a unique list of
manufacturers (second element of the sub-array, or tireData[j][2])
keeping in mind that tireData is not sorted and will contain
duplicate entries for manufacturers. It seems the filter method
will be part of my solution but so far I haven’t gotten
anything to work. Anyone know of a good tutorial on the subject?If you want the second element of the array, it is index 1,
not 2. If you want to sort the results, you can use the
Array.sort() method. If you want some code that does the

First let me say I am a Noob at Flash. I recently purchased
Studio 8 and CS2 Photoshop. I created a basic button in flash using
the default Up,Over,Down and hit routine. I have the frames working
and can save (publish) the file ie: Button.swf.
Once I am in Dreamweaver 8, I can import the Button.swf using
Insert>Media>Flash option. The button appears in the website
and the graphic animations interact with Up,Over,Down.
Here is where I exhibit to you pros out there that I am a
complete idiot!. I can not find a way to link or target with the
button. I am use to simply providing a link to the web object
inside of Dreamweaver. Much like the provided style flash buttons
do in Dreamweaver. Is there a way to create a flash button and have
it act like the style buttons ie: with the options to link and
such?
I feel I am missing the code needed for Dreamweaver to talk
to the Flash button? And if so, I take it needs to be included
prior to publishing of the Flash Button? Any help would be great
guys!... Otherwise I’m looking for a book “Making a

If you are using Flash 8, this would be very easy for you.
All you have to do to add video to your file is to import your
video and Flash will open the video importer wizard for you. move
through the steps. Do not choose embedded video if you want your
video to play externally. Then choose your player skin.
Flash will generate the FLV file for your video and add
controllars to your video in the stage. This is the easiest way as
you do not have to add any code my hand for the controllars.
If you like to just export video to FLV, use the Flash FLV
exporter that come with Flash mx 2004 and Flash 8 -
Hi guys I just got new job and they use CF over here. My
first small project is thowing me for a loop just because I've
never really worked databases before. I'm looking for some starting
help. We have this intranet site that everyone here uses to place
orders and stuff, they all use bunches of databases. And what my
boss is wanting me to do is find a way to put a count of all the
items in a database that match a certian criteria on the main page.
So what I need is a way to count database items. Help would be
helpful. Like I said I'm a total n00b and forgive me if you can't
make heads or tails of this. I'd be glad to explain more in depth

your ITEMS table that has a QUANTITY of at least 3 and a PRICE of
greater than $5.00 (assuming that QUANTITY and PRICE and columns
within the ITEM table)
A real simple way of handling this app would be to first do
the query and then out put the result. Your entire application
would be:

I am having lots of trouble getting the getText() thing to work. Basically i want to have a program with 2 textfields and then when i press a button, it will take those 2 numbers from the textfields (as an int) and perform a math matical funcion on them.

I have used Crystal Reports maybe 3 times. Anyway, I am experiencing delays on the network and need to trim the fat, so to speak. How do I pare down on the space being used by old records in the table. I was thinking of taking out anything older than 2 weeks from my weeklies and older than 4 months from my monthlies. How do I get to the menu to do this in SQL Server Enterprise Manager? Or is it done from Crystal Reports somehow?Post Author: aluminum

Are you pretty sure that the slowness is due to the number of records in the tables? Are they indexed/have primary keys set up? How many records are we talking here(thousands, millions, hundreds of millions)? Is the report showing all the records in the tables or are you using parameters? What versions of SQL Server and Crystal are you using?
Instead of getting rid of old records, you could run your report off of a table that contains only the records you will need. You could set up a job to run daily or however often is necessary (depending on how often the report is run) to refresh that table with just the data you need.
It might not necessarily be that you have too many records though, it could be that they arent indexed or indexed well, or that the report is doing things that you could have done on the server side instead. For instance, if you are doing alot of grouping/summing you might set up a view on the server, to run the report off of, that sums and groups the data and have the report just read that. Can you leave us some more details on what kind of report this is and what it does? -
I've never scripted Photoshop ever, but I am c# guy during the day, so I know programming
Ok, here is what I do right now: I place 3 photos into my scanner, scan them into Photoshop CS4 using the File/Import/Scanner menu item. Then I go to File/Automate/Crop and Straighten Photos to split up the image into 3 photos. Photoshop creates a tab for each photo. Then I go to each individual tab and save each picture. Then start again with the scanning - rinse and repeat.
This is kind of tedious. I am looking to automate all or some portion of this task. For instance, I would love it, if there was a script that responded to the Image Imported from Scanner event (if such a thing even exists), split the photos into 3 using the Crop and Straighten Photos command and saved each photo as a PNG (without getting the stupid dialog box asking me whether I was it interlaced or not). The routine that saves the photos, would have to look in the directory and name the file in a numeric fashion (e.g. p1.png, p2.png, p3.png, etc...) and not overwrite photos.
Is such a thing possible? If so, what are some of the resources I should look at? Is there something simpler (like maybe a macro recorder), that I am not looking at?

OK let me explain what i know and don't know
I am totally new to this HDTV stuff but my tv died so i am been forced to buy a cheap HDTV( has to cheap to replace it fast for my son). It's a basic 32" with a single HDMI and no PC port and i would assume its a 720p as a minimum.
After reading the forum and the help pages i know i have a yellow DVI port on the GFX card so its got HDTV out support.
My confusion arises as the card says it it HDTV ready. So i have some question i would like to ask so i don't blow up the PC or the TV
1: If its got the yellow port, why is the card HDTV ready?
2: If i am mistake (i am Dyslexic) how do i connect it to the TV?
3: If the card does not do direct HDTV out form the yellow DVI port is there any other way i can safely connect this GFX card to my TV's HDMI port with some third part hardware?
I do hope you can take the time to help out and to explain a little more about how this all works as i am new to this and don't want destroy what i all have. I am buying a 8800 card when i rebuild my pc later in the year but i was hoping i could connect it to my HDTV as i intended to use this pc a complete media center once my new system is built but i didnt really want to use the SVCD to scart and not use the HDTV

Noob help: Triggering Movie Clips with Buttons

I'm taking an intro Flash and Action Script class and for my final I need to create a portfolio project that contains 5 unique buttons that trigger 5 unique movie clips. I'm having a hard time with this. I've been able to trigger the 1st movie clip with the first button (although I can't stop it) but I can't trigger any ohter movies with any other buttons.
Here's my code:

Well I am new to the whole mac thing and am keen to get cracking. I want to install Leopard but all the copies I can find on e-bay all have things like Macbook Pro labeled on the disk. Am I right in saying that will not install on my new pretty G4? It currently has Tiger but have heard that leopard is a better OS. As this is all new to me any help would be gratefully appreciated. Would I be best to stick with Tiger as a noob or try and upgrade?It is a 1.2Ghz CPU and currently has 512MB of ram. Soon to be upgraded to max of 1.5GB though. Thing is the ibook is currently in transit to me (bought from ebay). lol. I am just uber excited about getting it. My very first mac. what I am trying to achieve is this ... trying to get infopath form submission repeating values into a sharepoint library as fields.
So I have managed to get the following fields promoted to sharepoint.
Product - product1;product2;product 3;product 4
Price - £50;£60;£70;£80
Qty - 1;50;10;60
How can I parse these strings and extract the substrings into list fields ? Can I do this with a workflow ?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use the workflow to extract the substrings.
To achieve your scenario, we should first retrieve the data from the InfoPath form.
If your workflow is running on an InfoPath form, you can use the technique described in How to retrieve InfoPath form data in a SharePoint
workflow.
If your workflow is running on a list item or document that is not an InfoPath form, you will have to download the InfoPath form from the library in which it is located, and use XPath expressions to access and modify data in the form. See

Then we can use the Utility Actions, such as the
Extract Substring from Index of String to extrach the substrings.

I just got an 8830 and have fumbled through figuring out what most of the icons are. I read all the manuals and asked Sprint for help. They were stumped. I figured out the message icon and how to clear it but sometimes instead of a yellow envelope, it looks like a wireline drawing of an envelope. There are other icons that there is no way to figure out what they are.
For example, next to bluetooth icon, there is something that looks like a crosshair for a rifle scope, next to it, something that looks like speaker waves. Sprint was as clueless as I was.

That would be your GPS icon. When you have the ))) waves that means it's on. I turn it off when I don't need it.
It saves both battery and memory. Go to the options icon, click on it, advanced options, GPS.
To turn off and on toggle GPS service to 911 or location on location aiding to enabled, disabled.
