Total pixel count for specific shades

I am photographing fixed points along an artificial stream bed and want to document algae growth in it over time. There may be up to 7 different shades of green (types of algae) in a given photograph.
Can Photoshop CS4 separate these shades and give you a total pixel count of each shade?
I was told by techical support that if you select an area with a tool that the histogram can give you a pixel count (along with the RBG values) for that given area. Is there a way to click on a particular shade point and have PS computate the total pixel count of that shade in the entire photograph.
The magic wand tool does not appear to be a reliable tool for this purpose.

Thanks for your response! When I go to Select/Color Range and set the bar to low fuzziness, I get an eye dropper. When I click the eye dropper on the photograph, nothing happens in the histogram to indicate a pixel count. I am missing a step?

Your directions work very well for a single image. I have an entire series of images and was wondering if I could just enter a specific set RGB values some where and see a total pixel count for each one of them.
When I go to foreground color and enter the RGB values there and then set the color range to zero and press OK, I get a Warning: No pixels were selected message.
Any additional advice that you have would be much appreciated.

CR - giving total transaction count for few groups and 0 for few groups.

For the column "No of First Call Resolution" I have to count no of interactions based on the Interaction Result, the formula is
COUNT(Interaction_ID) WHERE INTERACTION_RESULT = 'FCR'
For which, I wrote the below formula
If {14CICustomerInteractions_query.Interaction Result} = "FCR" then Count ({14CICustomerInteractions_query.Interaction_ID})
I have 33,232 interactions on the particular day I selected. When I try to group up and do the calculations it is giving total transaction count for few groups and 0 for few groups.

What field is the report grouped on?
If you wish to find the no of interactions based on some condition and display it for every group, then here's what you need to do:
1) Create this formula and place this on the details section:
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar c;
If {14CICustomerInteractions_query.Interaction Result} = "FCR" then
c := c + 1;
2) Create another formula and place this one on the Group Footer:
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar c;
3) Create this formula to reset the variable and place this on the Group Header:
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar c := 0;

Photo scanning -- cropping using pixel count for dimensions?

Hello, I have both an older Photosmart 3310 and a new Officejet Pro 8610. When scanning using the 3310, I can control cropping of the previewed scan using pixel count (width and height). I can't seem to do that when scanning using the 8610. Dimensions are in inches and only. In fact, my editing options on the previewed scan on the 8610 seem quite limited relative to what I can do using the much older 3310. Am I missing something? I want to scan on my new 8610, but I also want some control over the scanned image like I had with the 3310.

Yes, you are in fact correct. The software definitely has changed over time and is much more limited with the software for your scanning options for the Officejet 8610 compared to your Photosmart 3310. Unfortunately there is not a way to change the options you have to broaden them again.
I would only suggest to ensure you have installed the Full Feature software for your Officejet 8610 to ensure you are seeing the full options available for your printer: HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers

SQL Report - Software count for specific hostnames

I'm currently using the below query to get the count of all software in Add/Remove Programs for a specific collection:

Now, what I would like to do is to specify the All Systems collection ID (not a problem) but add a couple of extra condition:
I want to run the query only WHERE the hostnames start with SITE1 or SITE2.
How can I modify the above to achieve the results I'm expecting? I'm getting stuck here and there :(

How can I get count of the total records shown in the report. When we set the report attributes, we have an option "Set Pagination from X to Y of Z"
Does anyone know how can I get the Z value from APEX variables.
I know we can use that query and get the count but I just want to know how we can use APEX Variables effectively.

How to get total page count (in footer) for just a section?

In Pages 08, I was able to put a total page count (for only a section) in the footer. However, when I tried doing the same thing in Pages 09, it keeps giving me a total page count for the entire document. I used the same settings for Pages 08 and 09, but 09 keeps giving me the total page count for the entire document. Does anyone know how I can make it work like it did in Pages 08? This is really annoying and preventing me from buying iWork 09 as I need this feature to work. Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, the Pages '08 behavior was a bug.
The Pages '09 Help states:
Here are ways to work with information about a document:
To add or change descriptive information about a document (author, title, comments, and keywords), click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Document button, and then click Info. Enter or change information in the fields in the pane.
This information is searchable using Spotlight on computers with Mac OS X version 10.4 and later.
_To display document statistics, such as number of words, pages, lines, paragraphs, sections, graphics, and characters in the document_, click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Document button, and then click Info.
_A document’s word and page count_ are always visible at the bottom left of the window. To hide your document’s word count, choose Pages > Preferences, and then deselect “Show word count at window bottom.”
If a range of text is selected, you can specify the extent of the displayed statistics by choosing Selection or Document from the Range pop-up menu in the Document inspector.
This time it's clear that except if you select a chunk of text, word count and page count are global document 's properties.

How do I prevent Adobe DNG Converter 7.4 from cutting image pixel count?

I converted 5D Mark III Raw files to DNG with Adobe DNG Converter 7.4. When I import the DNGs into LR I noticed that the total pixel count has been significantly reduced. The original Raw images are 22 megapixels (5760 x 3840), the DNG files are 10.5 megapixels (3960 x 2460). I tried it without lossy compression, and with Lossy compression (making sure preserve pixel count was selected). Either way the image's pixel count is reduced. How do I avoid loosing half the image? Am I missing something?

Simplistically,
The image is captured with the full sensor data and then is downsampled during in-camera processing to create a smaller version that retains the Raw bit-depth. That resultant file is saved on the camera's memory card. So while all the MP of the camera were used, the output file is smaller in MP.

Mind you, I suspect this is what happened. You need to verify with your second shooter. The pixel dimensions match exactly with mRaw.

The best way to do paging and get total rows count given a sql statement

Just got a quick question.... what is the best way to do paging as well as the total rows count given by a sql statement.
e.g. "select * from emp"
1. I need to know the total row count for this statement.
2. I also need to do a 10 rows per page....
Is there a way to do it in a SINGLE statement for best performance?

BlackBerry World Total App Count?

Hello there, I was wondering if anyone new what was the total app count for BlackBerry World, this includes all versions of the OSs (BlackBerry OS [4.5.0+], BlackBerry Tablet OS, and BlackBerry 10 OS). A reply would be awesome, thanks.

Look in downloaded panel. If not then look in folders it has to be somewhere. You can also search on the phone itself. Top bar usually has a white strip to type in. Type in app world and click search in menu.

Getting a total play count

I'm obviously a guy with nothing better to do than this... Is there an easy way to get a total play count (for all songs).
I make a playlist of my top played every few months, save it, then reset the play count and start again, but would like to do the same thing after a certain number of tracks have been played rather than after every 6 months. It's not particularly important but its nagging at me.
I presume there must be a 'database' somewhere in the iTunes folder where all this info is stored.

Counting pixels of a specific colour

Hello.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to load an image into
flash and count the pixels of a specific colour in that image?
I'm trying to develop an application that loads images with a
white background, then counts all the white pixels and returns the
number of non-white pixels.

this (although I'd be immensely grateful if anyone would go to that
trouble), for a now a simple yes or no, and perhaps a few clues

Extract the bitmapData from the image you load in - this will
be in Bitmap(loader.content).bitmapData. Then you can loop through
the bitmapData pixels with BitmapData.getPixel() and keep a tally
of white/non-white pixels.

Here adding to the words of “Tim”, a forwarder is a DNS server on a network used to forward DNS queries for external DNS names to DNS servers outside of that network. You can also forward queries according to specific domain names using conditional forwarders.
A DNS server on a network is designated as a forwarder by having the other DNS servers in the network forward the queries they cannot resolve locally to that DNS server. You can refer information regarding forwarders and how to configure from beneath link.
