Totally disable sharepoint

Hello,
As a school, we have an Office 365 subscription that we will ONLY use to deliver Office 365 Pro Plus to our student for free. We would not like at all to use any cloud services.
Active Directory synchronization between our on premise AD and O365 is enabled and working, with password sync. Office Pro Plus licenses ONLY are assigned to students with PS script, working well also.
As I was testing the user experience, I saw that when a user is logged on at portal.office.com to download and install Office, there's a ling "Edit my About me page" in the Office 365 settings.
Thru this link, I discovered that any logged on users has access to a personnal page (kind of mySite?!) and also to a team site with editors rights. When they access for the first time to their personnal page, a SharePoint profile is created, but when I
try to edit the personal site, I'v got a "this user doesn't have a personal site".
First of all I deleted the 2 SharePoint site collections (domain.sharepoint.com and domain-public.sharepoint.com). But I can't delete domain.sharepoint.com/search and domain-my.sharepoint.com; the delete button is greyed out.
The only workaroud for now was to remove permissions on the site domain-my.sharepoint.com.
But I really prefer a way to disable SharePoint!

Unfortunately I already try this without success; users were still able to create a personnal page (that's why I'm not sure that the "About me page" is the same as "My Site".
So there is no way do delete domain.sharepoint.com/search and domain-my.sharepoint.com?
I can see that OneDrive for Business
Provisioning failed and that SharePoint is still restoring. Can this be a part of the problem? Mybe with a functionnal SharePoint and OneDrive I may be able to delete thoses services?

The existence and need of "Microsoft Accounts" in Windows 8.x causes many issues for corporate IT management.
1) To access Windows 8.x Mail App, Calendar App, etc, OneDrive, Skype, to upgrade from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1, and the Windows Store requires a Microsoft Account.
2) Not all users have or will want to have their own personal Microsoft Account
3) It is possible for the corporate IT department to create Microsoft Accounts for each of the company Users, but it is an extra burden and difficult to manage these accounts.
Potentially the simplest solution is to be able to totally disable the use of Microsoft Accounts in Windows 8.x, is this possible?

You have the choice of uninstalling the metro apps ou use the GPO to block the use of Microsoft account.

Disable SharePoint Mobile Browser Redirect

I am trying to disable the Mobile Browser Redirect. My goal is that even on a mobile device, our users will see the full SharePoint Portal.
I have edited Compact.browser and set all ”isMobileDevice" to False, however I am still being re-directed to the mobile site.
Is there another step that I am missing.
Any help is appreciated.

Disabled

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Totally disable internal laptop screen to use only external

I have a laptop with a 8600M GS graphics card (yup, still alive) and a cracked LCD. I hooked up an external display with nvidia's drivers but I can't see how to totally disable the internal LCD. The reason I'd like to do that is that everything displays on the broken and now removed LCD rather than the external monitor

P965 Platinum - totally disable CDROM?

Hey,
I need to use a tool called "HDD Capacity Restore" on a bad drive. However, it only works if the drive it's run on, is alone on it's channel.
And, ofcourse, it's not.
My CDROM drive is on it as well.
This is a standard IDE channel - not RAID or anything.
Is there any way I can - via software - totally disable the CDROM drive so it won't show on the channel it's on? If so, how?
The BIOS only shows my SATA drive, and the "dialog" that shows the PATA driver doesn't have any options for "entering" it, like Del for BIOS setup...
I'd really perfer not to have to open my PC if it's avoidable!

You can try disabling/deactivating the optical drive in device manager. However, the best way is probably to simply unplug your cd-drive.

Infopath currency field not totalable in sharepoint list

I have published an InfoPath form. It has a calculated field in it that is formatted decimal double, US currency. It displays correctly in the form. When I submit it to sharepoint, the column does not allow it to be totaled. I only allows the count option
on that column. Any idea how I can fix this?

As you mentioned dd data is appearing in form but not in datasheet view...
maybe there are compatibility issues
with 32 bit and 64 bit component of office and IE.
Try reinstalling "2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components" (link below)it installs a 32-bit version
of the Datasheet component that will work with the 64-bit version of Office 2010 as long as you are using a 32-bit version of an Internet browser.

Powershell Script to Enable and Disable SharePoint list versioning

Hi,
We have a Sharepoint list with a date and time field named 'Today' which we update overnight
via PowerShell script to give the current date and this recalculates other calculated fields
in the list.
All is fine but we have versioning enabled on the list and so we get a new version created everyday.
Is there a way to disable the versioning prior to running the update and then re-enable
after?

Disabling Sharepoint Integration in AcrobatX

We were using Acrobat Pro to automate printing and suddenly after a rollout of Acrobat X it now recogizes that we are opening the PDF's from a Sharepoint library and presents the Checkout dialog. This completely disrupts our workflow as now our paralegals have to answer the dialog box for every file.
Its not so bad when you are batch printing just a few files, but a multi hundred print job is untenable.
Is there any way to disable this functionality on the client side without disabling WebDav? I read that Acrobat supports Sharepoint by recognizing that the files are coming from a WebDav share and that causes the dialog to present itself. Is this true?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
