Totally impressed with this device

I have to admit, initially I was disappointed that there wasn't an iPhone 5 released. I've been an apple devotee for some time, and am rarely if at all disappointed in the products they introduce. I had gone as far as to purchase a droid device for the flexibility of options in the operating system. But I couldn't help giving the 4s a try. My issue with the 4 was battery drain. The 4s has far surpassed the previous battery ( for me at least). As for the other updates that came with ios5, all awesome. Siri can be a bit of a smart a**, but I even find that aspect to be innovative. Over all, don't be deterred from purchasing this device because of occasional negative thread post. I typically purchase my devices at near retail cost ( because I'm to impatient to wait for my renewal) and this is the few devices that I do not regret doing this for.

You sound exactly like me!!! I love my 4S and don't miss my Droid Charge in the least. The only thing I had going for me was the guaranteed buy back program at Best Buy. I took the Charge back and got $350 for it. I sold my accessories on eBay and called 'er a day.

I'm taking it in to get it looked at but will they cover this? And is there a way to fix it before I take it in. I'm still under the 1 year warranty plan. My friend said that they might exchange it. It's a 64GB and I use it for a lot of things like my picture, music, contacts, and email. It's got scratches on the back but other wise its ok the screen isn't cracked or scratched.

Also my home buttom won't work unless I press down real hard. This scares me because I'm afraid I wil persss it too hard and break it even more.

You've gotten 2 good answers already, but there's a key assumption in both that you got the message when connecting the iPhone to some other device. If this is the case you can get an adapter in the Apple online store that will allow charging from older devices.
If, however, this message appears when you are not connected to anything the problem is dirt or moisture in the dock connector at the bottom of the phone. Clean it with a dry toothbrush or air blast.

Ah, it has been mentioned daily esp since iOS 5 / iTunes 10.5 but has always been there as an issue.
Order of attempts:
Repair the installers
Uninstall EVERY Apple component (auto and manual)
Services: Restart all 3 Apple items (AMS, Bonjour, iPod)
I* always do the last almost, then launch iTunes, and only then connect iPod.
IF you see a yellow alert in Devices and Printers or in Device Manager, then I could find NO WAY to fix or repair other than a clean OS. Something messed up the device driver support.
If/when Windows asks "what to do when it detects iPod"? don't chose any default action, to me, based on hunch and 3 PCs, that seems to mess AMS up for some reason.
Tried with Windows 7 64-bit Pro and Home Premium, and also Deve Preview 8 (which other than the inability to update iOS to 5.0 seems to run better -- except when it comes to AMS thing! so seems Apple is not on the same page writitng drivers.

My iPhone4 suddenly won't take a charge. Because I carry it in my pocket, I suspected there was a lack of conductivity. I used air to clean the slot and a small plastic pick. Some dust bunnies came out of the slot and I plugged it in to charge. I got the message, "!Charging is not supported with this device!" This didn't make sense, because I was using the same original charger that I've been using for 2 years.

I download the Desktop Software for BlackBerry onto my Mac Book Pro for the first time.
After installing I connected my PlayBook. I get the message "The BlackBerry® Desktop Software cannot connect with this device."
The program suggested I repair the device software, so I did. After that I set it up and ran the updates.
When I plug it back in I get the exact same message.
What should I do next?

I also cannot connect to my two playbooks using desktop manager on mac.
One of the two playbooks is now shipped back to rim for repair (see here http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/5MP-Playbook-Camera-Blackscreen-Errors-Ha... The issue of desktop manager not being able to connect to the playbook started with this playbook when the repair I was prompted to to stopped 1/4 way into it. Multiple retries did not make any difference.
Since then, I have tried connecting my other (functioning) playbook to the same mac but when I plug in usb cable I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg and prompted to "repair". I am definitely NOT going to "repair" this one. So I uninstalled the desktop manager and reinstalled it to see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately it did not and I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg.
If anyone has any suggestion how this issue can be resolved that would be great. I think something is stuck on the mac and is not getting wiped out when desktop manager is uninstalled. Thanks.

Still it could not find the data network.it searches for voice network instantly and works too. but even full voice network available, there is no data network.when i restart the phone it could find data network.

The most common reason for this message is, the iPhone dock port needs to be cleaned, use a clean dry tooth brush. See if this helps. If you keep getting the message, then clean the dock port again very carefully with isopropyll alcohol, expecially the pins which are on top of the dock mid rib. If still problems make appointment with Apple Genius.
