Hi Pete65,
It could be possible that if you are in the Northampton/Milton Keys/ Bedford/ etc areas, that particular mux could have some signal interference .
There was a post earlier which I can't find right now, where the author talks about signal quality vs signal strength.
It could also be possible that the signal is too strong which could cause a detrimental effect on the quality.

My Yahoo Mail is not Working on any of my Apple devices, It attempts to download new email but then stops. Any ideas?
I, too, am having a problem with my Yahoo email account on my first generation IPad. I can't download my emails to my IPad from the server. The IPad looks like it's trying to download them but can't do it. I am able to send emails from my IPad with my Yahoo account.
This problem started yesterday, Aug., 25th, the day after I uploaded the last update from Apple. I am able to set up another email account through Sbcglobal that will download my emails to my IPad but it is not sync'ed with my desktop mail which creates a mess when I move or delete emails.
I've tried deleting my Yahoo account and then adding it back. Also I've reset my IPad and I've done a full restore.
I think it has something to do with the last update, which I believe was a security update, which may have reset the firewall. That's just a guess.
Has anyone figures out anything else? -
I have moved old Back Up files from my external hard drive to the trash and as the Trash previews the files, i.e. counts them (over 850,000 files) it then begins to delete but then stops. Is it possible to move the files out of the Trash file and then only delete a small amount at one time?

mavericks has broken most stock apps, app store ,preview, messages, facetime ect the list goes on they bounce in the menu then nothing its been like that since installing mavericks fixed briefly by reinstalling but then stopped again very quickly
any help ?You most likely ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. -
This method is exactly how I'm trying to get my music on my new iPod touch, it starts downloading but then stop and says unable to download at this time. What the **** is going on ?
Try going to Settings>Store and sign out and sign back in.
It also could be due to an Apple server problem. and yu will just have to wait and try again. -
What do I do if I can't upload photos into my photobook? Every time that I try, the upload starts but then stops. Then the only options I have are to cancel or retry. Has anyone else had this problem and how have they solved it?
I solved the problem. Had nothing to do with Mac or iphoto. Problem must be my the internet connection to my provider.
Upload at my office worked without any problem. One problem solved, now i am aware with a lot of discussions with my providers helpdesk ;-) -

Download starts but then stops...
So I've read other forums and searched this website for one, but I still can't find the answer. Whenever I try to download the file it will start but then after some time get stuck on a percentage(different every time) and then stop all together. I've tried using different browsers and a download manager, I have plenty of storage space also. It still won't work
I've heard that this may have something to do with my internet and secruity? Or something? Can someone tell me how to fix that? My technical skills are very very low and this is the first time I've used a mac. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
Premier Elements 3 renders but then stops
This has happened before but at present I am working on a 3 hour video. It will go through all the steps (taking 3-4 hours as expected) but then just stops with the overall progress bar at about 45% and the current progress bar at about 5%. There is no error message and the DVD is not affected. I have put similar projects onto the same 8.5Gb discs before. When this has happened before, I have used other software to put a copy onto my HDD and then tried again. Sometimes this works!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Depending on what you're using for source files, Premiere Elements could require as much as 150 gigabytes of free, clean, defragmented space on your hard drive to create a 3 hour DVD, Geoff.
The fact that this seems to work for you intermittently might well indicate that the problem is too many "invisible" temp files taking up space, too much junk in your media cache and too much fragmentation -- in addition to the possibility that you simply don't have enough hard drive space to do it. (Remember, if you're editing video on your C drive, the operating system is constantly paging to and fragmenting the drive as you work.)
You can try our recommended maintenance. (You'll likely find several gigabytes of junk files you didn't know were there taking up space on your drive.)
http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc43f9a
But things could also depend a lot on what you're using for your source files. Video captured over FireWire from a miniDV camcorder works most efficiently. Non-DV-AVI footage, such as video from a DVD or hard drive camcorder, needs a lot more rendering space. And photos, if they aren't sized to 1000x750 pixels, can slow or choke the program's processing completly. -
When we clicked as usual on the firefox icon the egg-timer started then went off. Nothing started up.
Checking the Task Manager showed firefox.exe briefly using the CPU then it dropped off the list.
We tried to uninstall and reload from the mozilla site (http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/). Installation seemed to work ok, but the same problem recurred when we tried to start firefox.
Did this again, this time removing bookmarks, etc. same result.
Tried to use the profile manager - the screen came up but disappeared before we could use it.
Same thing happened when we tried to start in safe mode - screen briefly appeared but then disappeared.
Tried googling in IE to solve the problem but nothing seems to apply.
Have run all security checks but no apparent bugs or problems.
Have had to abandon firefox and use another browser. How do we get it back please ?Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.
See [[Server not found]] and [[Firewalls]] and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firewalls -
Export beging, show some progress in the export bar, but then stops
Hi !
Having problems exporting my edited files from Lightroom 4 in my IMAC. After editing my photos to export them, there is an immediate indication of transfering, but suddenly stop and there is no further progress in the transfer. Please help.
GilbertoWorks OK one at a time?
Depends on which photos? or which photos don't make a difference.
Depends on export service, or settings, or ...
Any other info you can think of that might be pertinent - do provide..
When you're having a strange problem, the devil's in the details.. - usually everything works (partial "ha-ha" there). -

NiISHello,
I think I have the same issue but not the same problem. I started an sld to lmdb synchronisation and after that the system broke down and i had to stop it. But after the restart the disp+work.exe always was yellow and then grey (stopped). Before the synchronisation it worked fine, all was green.
Here ist my trace list:

DpHalt: Good Bye ..... -
My ibookG4, running 10.4.11 suddenly decided it no longer wants to print documents thru my HP officejet 6210 all-in-one printer. So far I've tried emails, excel and word all with the same result. The computer will start to process the print request (processing seems to take longer than previously) and then suddenly the processing stops and a red exclamation mark appears next to the printer image at the bottom of screen. When I pull up the printer utility it tells me the printer is "stopped". If I restart it, the process begins all over again until once again it stops. I have already deleted the printer completely from my computer and reinstalled the software fom the HP site. For some reason had a really tough time finding the correct print drivers on the HP site, but did finally locate them. I have not even attempted scanning during this (I see lots of people reported issues with that for the 6210), I would be happy if I could at least print again. I am connecting via USB. Is there some way to fix this?

My headphones are not working for my iPod 5 they work a little but stop how can u fix them
first line in return for warranty should be the place one bought the place
same with a car then you should not be expected to ship it to toyota in japan yourself
and if you coka cola have an issue you don't have to take direct contact to cola company and the likes... -
ITunes says it needs to make more than one Audio CD, but then stops.
Most times when I try to burn a CD from a playlist, 'The songs will not fit onto one disc' box appears. I click on the 'Audio CDs' button, but it doesn't do anything after that. It doesn't try to burn the CD after I click the button. What do I do about this?
PLEASE HELP! obviously

Dell Dimension 4600 Windows XPInstead of trying to update iTunes +from within iTunes+, go to Apple's page where you can download the iTunes 8.2.1 installation file -- save the file, don't run it direct from the download. Once downloaded to your computer, then run the installation file.
If that does not fix the problem, then remove the following software from your computer (you won't lose your music): iTunes, Quicktime, and something called "Apple Mobile Device Services". Once you remove those programs, then run the iTunes installer file (from above) again. That will install all three of these programs and should fix your problem.
