Touch controls completely frozen - iPad

The touch controls of my iPad are completely frozen.
Only the very bottom part of the screen has a very limited sensitivity, and after many tries I can slide unlock the iPad.
The rest of the screen does not respond to any control.
I have already tried both turning the iPad off and on again, and rebooting it by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for a few seconds, but none seems to work.
The only solution I can see is to reset the iPad to its factory settings by following the procedure at Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings .
However, when I connect the iPad to iTunes, iTunes asks me if I trust my own computer, and I am required to answer 'Yes,Trust' by tapping on a popup notification that appears at the center of the iPad screen. Obviously I cannot tap that, since the iPad screen is frozen. This is so dumb...
As a result, I cannot move ahead with the restore procedure.
What should I do to solve this problem?
Please help!
Thanks,
Fede

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • My iPad is completely frozen, stuck on a app, the only button I can click is the sleep button but when I open it back up it goes straight back into the app how can I unfreeze my ipad

My iPad is completely frozen up, and I don't know what happened, or how to unfreeze it
I can click the home and sleep button, but the home button does nothing, and the sleep button works but when I touch it again, it goes straight back to the app I was in,
    Can someone please help me?

A reset should help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Try to reboot it. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple, about 20 seconds or so. It should reboot and work for you.

  • Ipod Touch completely frozen with white screen

My ipod touch is completley frozen with a grey/white screen. it will not respond to reset or restore, neither my pc or itunes recognise it when i plug it in. Anybody have any ideas other than contact apple directly? All software on ipod touch and itunes is up to date.

    - If the reset does not work, connct to comuer and if iTunes sees the iPod restore the iPod via iTunes.
    - Next let the battery fully draind and charge for an hour.. The try the reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
and connecting to iTunes to try to restore.
    - If the iPod still has the white screen then it is time make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
    - If the iPod is off se if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow iTunes to se the iPod so tha you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

  • Is there a way of connecting the ipad to the smart board in the classroom, so that the smartboard is the control, and the ipad is displaying what is on the smartboard? This is to help a visually impaired child see what is on the smartboard.,

Is there a way of connecting the ipad to the smart board in the classroom, so that the smartboard is the control, and the ipad is displaying what is on the smartboard? This is to help a visually impaired child see what is on the smartboard.

    Absolutely!
Install Splashtop2 on the PC and enable it to be controlled or ran from iPad or Reflection to simply allow iPad to serve as PC unwired monitor. With Splashtop and an Apple TV connected, you use the smartboard as usual, yet the PC and iPad can see the same content. The impaired child can even interact with the Smart Board via the iPad as if he were writing directly on the big screen. Erasing functions can be done by touching the Smart Board manual controls. Several variables are in play that cause this lack of functionality:
Apple won't permit PC software that infringes its proprietary apps.
Smart Board companies refuse to develop iPad apps because they feel threatened and are being replaced by iPads
School districts think Apple TV is meant for copyright infringement and could expose them to safe harbor lawsuits
Network administrators make it impossible to login Apple TVs because they don't want the streaming occurring
Classrooms are not able to keep up with the technology of using the iPad
Clicker companies refuse to play with iPad because they see it as a potential threat to their core business clients
Apple is not working as hard as it could to exploit its capabilities in education, thus losing money in iPad sales
The bottom line is that we educators and technology developers are hurting our childern with petty conflicts.

  • How do I fix? -iPod Touch Generation 4 frozen and jammed

I have an iPod Touch Generation 4 and the sleep button/lock screen button is jammed. I can't fix the jam no matter what and I've tried everything said online and such. I got a notification from an app and slid open, tapped in correct code, and the app opened immediately like usual. So when you rotate your iPod, the screen turns right? The screen was horizontal so I flipped the iPod vertically and it didn't move so I tried again because, hey, might be lagging. Nope. For a good three minutes it stayed on the same screen. Slowly, the screen began to grey and fade and then it got all distorted and you can only see green and grey lines (green because that's the app's main color). Anyway, I don't mind the jam that's not the problem, I have it so you can press the dot on the screen to get it to go to the lock screen. The only problem is my ipod is completely frozen and I have my contacts, passwords, photos, music, ect on that ipod and I need it. Please help me?

    Try:
    - To make a backup since the other actions may erase the iPod

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode sue one of these programs

    If necessary:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I just don't get it. I got the iPod from a friend which didn't use it at all. If I connect my iPad or iPad mini to my mac, they all get connected well and iTunes sees them too. iPod touch not for some reason
The iPod touch is completely new, no missing contacts etc. It works on other macs as well. Only my iMac doesn't see the iPod Touch. Maybe I can repost this problem in The IMAC section in stead of the iPod Touch, since I think its a iMac problem from now on...

My Ipad2 touch screen has frozen and none of the apps will open. I can't do a shut down to reboot?

Sorry, darned auto correct. Sleep and home. The home is the button on the front of your iPad. The sleep button is also the power down button. It's on the upper right edge of your iPad.
My apologies for the typo. My keyboard is charging and the onscreen keyboard and I don't get along well.
