Touch crashing during playback.

My iTouch has started crashing whenever I play music. Running the new firmware update, no new applications though. It appears to be random, not associated with any one song, or the same place in a song. Yesterday I was not able to get through an entire song without it crashing. By crashing I mean it dumps back to the home screen.
The only new thing I've done, besides installing the 1.1.3 update, was wiping all the music off then resyncing in order to correct the bad cover-art issue.
Anyone else having this problem? Is there a simple solution? Should I go to an Apple store and have a tech look at it?

Yep they worked fine on my computer as well but they didn't on the IPT and so far that's the only fix that I've found that works.
I've worked with computers for over 20 years and whenever you get crashes and errors then 9 times out of 10 it's usually a memory problem, a power issue or a software problem.
I wish I knew what the problem was, but Apple won't even say it's a bug let alone tell you if they will fix it or not.

  • Premiere Elements 11 crashes during playback after adding PiP

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 11, up to date, and Windows 7 home up to date. This is a new problem that just started with my most recent project. I have done these types of edits and PiP's many times with success with the same type of source video formats, etc.
The problem: I add a small clip of video over the main video timeline as Picture in Picture. It adds to the timeline successfully and I can even play it back ok (before rendering). If I add a transition to the front of the PiP, it will crash during playback (pre-render). Or, if I render the timeline before adding the transition, it will also crash during playback once it gets to the PiP.
I tested PiP with still pictures and that works ok, it only crashes on video PiP. I have tested different video formats (from GoPro and from Panasonic camcorder) with the same results (crashes). I have uninstalled Adobe Premiere as well as Quicktime and re-installed them, same results. I am quite frustrated with the constant crashes, especially since I have done a dozen or more videos the same exact way using the same cameras and same types of video files.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Justin

So I created a new project using the project preset "DSLR 1080p30 @29.97". Everything worked fine in that project using the same source videos and doing PiP (tested with both methods).
I opened the project that was giving me problems and the PiP worked when using your approach of dropping the PiP clip onto Video 2 then scaling it down. I then deleted that PiP and re-added it the way I was doing it before, and it crashed the first time I tried to play it back.
I closed down Elements and again tried to reproduce the crash the same way, but this time it worked and did not crash...I tried multiple times to reproduce the crash, sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't...
So, I don't know exactly what the problem is. Lastnight I could reproduce the crash every time by either rendering the PiP or adding a transition to the front of it (then playing it back), every time it would crash. Now it is behaving differently.
At any rate, I will start using the correct project settings going forward and know that I can PiP using the other method as well. Maybe the project that is giving me problems is just corrupted or something, I'll toss it an start anew.

  • Premiere Pro CC(V.8.0) sluggish and crashes during Playback

    Issue:
Premiere Pro CC(V.8.0) extremely sluggish and crashes during Playback. My video won't play at all unless I render (which is no problem). I render all my clips and attempt to play it back. It usually will allow me to watch it the first time around. After that, the program freezes up or becomes extremely sluggish. I have even had a blank green screen pop up on my playback monitor. Sometimes the program will generate the message "A Serious Error has occurred" and will shut down. Other times, the program just locks up. I am not running any other programs except email.
    Here is what I've tried:
    Cleared all my cache files
Set my Mercury Playback set to "Software only"
Restarted the program and computer after doing the above.
Made sure I had no RGB Curves as an effect (as I did see that was an issue from other threads)
    Deleted all unused footage
Deleted all render files and re-rendered everything.
I am editing footage that requires Ultra Key. I am using a Three-Way Color Corrector. My video isn't even 1 minute long, so I would think it would be easy to render and playback.
Here is what I am working on (I know I need an upgrade - was hoping to after I finished this client's project):

  • Ipod touch crashed during resetting of setting / data

My ipod touch crashed during a resetting of settings / data
Now it will not turn on. The apple icon will come on when I hold the sleep and home button for 10 seconds but the dies again. Itunes will not pick the device up when its plugged in?
Is there a way to get this going again. It is my daughters favorite device and would love to het this running again for her.

Can you connect it to your computer and restore it? If iTunes does not see the iPod try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring. See:

  • Zen Touch crashes during file trans

My Creative Zen Touch already crashed twice during file trasfer with Zen Touch Media Explorer. What should I do?

I have had exactly the same problem. My zen has crashed, or both my pc and zen have crashed during file transfer. I have formatted my zen, re installed firmware and ran clean up too. I have tried my zen on another computer and the same thing happened. I have all the up to date drivers and programs. I cannot work out what the problem is at all, other than there are physical errors on my zen. I have only had it for about a year too. I just hope this can be sorted because I know exactly how annoying it is for an expensi've product to throw up problems.

  • Encore CS4 Missing Frames/Stops Starts  and Blue Screen Crashes During Playback

I'm opening Premiere Pro CS4 with the default presets of HDV Capture, HDV 1080i30 software only mode. I'm capturing from my Canon HV20 using firewire HDV out 1440 x 1080. All goes well during the editing process but when I Dynamic Link and playback in Encore CS4 I observe dropped frames or stop and starts in Encore timeline sequence. At times I may even crash Encore with a Blue Screen. While still running Encore I can go back to Premiere Pro and play the timeline sequence with no issues. I will mention that I have the Matrox RT.X2 installed. But when starting a project I'm doing software only and disabling RT.X2 hardware playback. If I remove all effects in the timeline sequence and then Dynamic link to Encore the playback is normal with no effects. I did exported the Premiere Pro CS4 project using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 with a setting of MPEG 2 Blu-ray 1440 x 1080i 29.97 High Quality. I than import this MPEG2 back into Adobe Encore CS4 and it plays without dropping frames or hang-ups.

    Try to remember this:
Encore "Tries" to playback from premiere pro.  If you have a full set of previews available, it will play those, but you are probably seeing a lot of dropped frames and choppy video if your previews in premiere are set pretty low.  What you can do to combat this--in my experience--is export your video from premiere into a whole file in full format (in a non-lossy format with full frames, and in it's proxy equivalent;  I use Prores LT for many projects, and export that as a final output from premiere), then have that encode in an h.264 format (which will maximize smooth motion and quality playback).  Now... ...In your encore project, you should be outside of your original formats and in the intermediary that encore will recognize, so you should have it "Locate transcoded file".  Once you have done so, it will playback that movie in the preview.  I've done it.  With CS6 and 4gb ram with a vidcard at 256mb and a core2duo 2.16ghz, it plays fine.  With CS4 the encoding takes a while, and if you go to dvd, even longer for compression to work properly.  I use Compressor to output AVCHD .264 stream and an AC3 file.  When I locate the transcode for BD, I locate the .264 file first, then I get asked for the AC3 file.  This allows me to import them both, and have Encore encode them into the transport stream without transcoding.  I use Distributed processing to get the job done quickly, as I have minimal access to several computers and have connected them by that method for a Render Farming setup.  It works well.  With a hardware based device playing back your files, you won't see the same performance in Encore.  It has to make two hops already to get to your video, and adding a third (goes from encore to Premiere, then to codec, then plays normally;  third step is to external hardware, which eats up processing like crazy when it has to come all the way back to an encoding output to screen through encore, adding more steps for the system along the way) really can slow down the performance in Encore.  IF you take the Steps out by encoding a finished playback stream, Encore will handle it quickly with it's own processing.  It really does work well.  If you don't like it, make your changes in Premiere, then re-encode with your hardware and make an h.264 file for encore again.  You can use AME, but you'll always get standard Blu-ray (old file-stream format; lesser res and quality).  You can use Compressor to make AVCHD which allows for 264 output that is PSF or progressive that is interpreted as simultaneous fields (fake interlace), or even solid progressive formatting for AVCHD compatible players, and you can render-farm it to speed up the encoding process.

  • Exported MP4's sometimes crash during playback, just before the end.

I experience this problem pretty often, only when playing back in Windows Media Player.
I'll export a video to MP4 (usually AppleTV 720p, H.264).  When I play back my exported video in WMP, it'll get to the very end and crash with about 2 seconds left.  The message will be "Windows Media Player Encountered a Problem When Playing Back This File."  If I click through to web help, I'm told it's a "Windows Media Player C00D11B1" error, which looks to have something to do with sound.
In general, the error seems to happen if I try to fade my video out to to black (Opacity 0) at the end, or have my audio run a little past the end fo the video, or things like that.  But it's not consistent.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?  What might it be about the end of my project that's causing the playback to crash?
    Thanks,
    Mo

I'll agree with that, but that's not really a solution.  I can't control what clients will use for playback.
I'm interested in finding the root cause of the problem, if anyone has any ideas.
For the current video that's crashing, I tried a different preset: "HDTV 720p 29.97 High Quality"  and now WMV plays it all the way through.   Maybe the preset "AppleTV 720p, H.264" is the problem?

Any ideas? Is it just me or does it seem like "Display.dll" has something to do with my quadruple monitor setup...?
This seems plausible. That's an Adobe file, and I'm sure its related to exactly what its name implies. Check that you have the latest ATI Catalyst drivers (they're updated monthly), and if that doesn't work, you might try uninstalling and removing one of the cards from the system--that's likely the cause but unfortunately, you'll have to go to those measures in order to test that theory.

  • CC crashes during playback for AVCHD (.mts) footage

    Hi,
I have two recent model 27" iMacs running CC.  On one system, playback freezes or I getting a Media Pending screen when playing AVCHD (.mts) footage.  The second system can playback all the footage with no probplem.

  • Media center crashing during recorded tv playback

In the last month or so my Windows 7 Media center started crashing during Media Playback (Unhandled ExceptioN).  I've been using media center on this system and others for years and have never seen this type of crashing (expecially on Win7).  While
I initially presumed that the issue was with a single system within a day or two I started to see the IDENTICAL issue on a SECOND system that I have that is also running Windows 7 x64.  They run with completely different types of Motherboards, cpu's (both
are Intel but one is a Core i7-4770k and the other i7-2600k), both have different types of display adapter and displays (Display adapter on system 1 is NVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti the display adapter on System 2 is NVidia GeForce GTS 450).
However given the fact that they BOTH regularly crash 2-3 times per hour I'm suspecting a recent update, both systems are set to download and apply all critical system updates.  One system is playing back from local disk array (Raid), the other is playing
back over the network. Both have failed when payback is of local content the second system has also failed when playback originates from the first system (via network share).
System frequently has other applications tasks running so there could be conflicting tasks that influence, however system 2 is a dedicated system for recording and playback and runs little else besides Windows Media center.
Given the only STRONG commonality between the two systems is:
    Version of Windows
    NVidia Drivers
And given the fact that it's Unlikely that Microsoft is making any tweaks to Media Center on Win7.  I'm STRONGLY suspicious of the update that landed on my machines in Late Oct/Early Nov.  IS ANYONE
ELSE SEEING ISSUES with Windows media center crashing on Windows 7 immediately following an Update from NVidia?  Details of my update are below.
nVidia - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling graphic card or rollback?
I shall suggest you to update the driver from Nvidia's site instead of Windows Update.
You shall also look at the media center error logs to find out possible causes behind this issue.

  • Premiere Pro CC crashes when trimming (often during playback)

I've been having Premiere Pro CC freeze on me about every 2 minutes when I trim in the timeline using keyboard shortcuts (trim backward/forward one frame). It seems to happen more often during playback, but also happens exclusively during trimming (and occasionally when I use a keyboard shortcut to step forward/backward one frame - obviously not during playback).
This appears to be a weird freeze & not a crash, in the sense that playback freezes and I get the spinning beachball/wheel of death and premiere is unresponsive, but when I force-quit, Premiere resumes playback for a second before giving the "Premiere has experienced a serious error and must shut down" error message, and then shutting down.
Any help would be much appreciated - this is really causing a massive slow-down in my editing.
    I'm running a MacBook pro
    Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013
    2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    C02L255BFFT1
    OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)
Premiere Pro CC fully updated, I'm editing 48kHz .aiff audio files and/or h.264 video in a 1080p 24fps timeline, waveforms on, GPU acceleration OFF.
The same issue also happens on my iMac (from early 2013 - I don't have the specs on me).

    Hi minutephysics,
Thanks for your posts. It is always better to have latest version of cuda drivers even, if you are not using the gpu acceleration. So, please update the drivers and then check the performance. Please update the drivers from the link.

  • Having random crashes during audio playback.

    Greetings,
I seem to be having some issues with crashing during audio playback.  Here are my specs:
    MSI K8N Neo2 Plat  (1.B BIOS)
    AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Winchester)
4x512 Corsair TWINX 1024 3200C2PT (Bought at seperate times, but revisions are almost exact and they run stable)
    NVIDIA GeForce 6800
    Creative Audigy 2 ZS
    Forton Source FSP 400W
It seems to do the same thing every time.  The audio will start skipping (in more than 1 media player) and after no BSOD, the computer will reboot itself.  I have it set to show a BSOD as well.  It has even started to ask to check my D: drive for errors after this.
The problem first started to occur after a couple of things.  I recently updated my bios to the 1.B version as stated.  And a week or so ago I did a fresh install of Windows.  The sound was working fine with the new BIOS, but now with the new Windows install it has had issues.  Are there any known issues with the Audigy2 ZS and the new 1.B BIOS that I just didn't experience before?  Granted, I did not have my old install of Windows long under the new 1.B BIOS.
At this moment I am using the AC97 onboard audio to see if that crashes as well, and just to hopefully have the random crashes stop happening.  I know there are quite a few avenues to take, I am just looking for opinions on which would be the best one.  Reflash the bios to an older version?  Try the Audigy2 in a different PCI slot? (I had it in the 2nd to bottom as the NIC is plugged into the orange PCI)  Contact Creative for an RMA or repair of the card?  I only bought it on December 16th, so it's fairly new.  Something else I am maybe missing?  A BIOS or Windows setting?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  If I need to provide any more info, please say so and I will promptly.
    Thanks.

I have the same MB and CPU but I am using the onboard sound and have not had any problems with that.
I can recommand that you bump up your memory voltage to 2.6~2.7 and loosen up your memory timings to something like 2.5-5-5-8-2T.
Then remove all drivers from your Audigy, disable your onboard sound and remove those drivers, shut down and install your Audigy and boot up allowing Windows to find your new hardware and then install the drivers.

  • Nudging audio during playback with audio plugins applied causes crash

    Hi,
We are having some unusual crashes at the moment in a very specific situation:
    1. An audio effect is applied to at least one track of audio. Reverb and compression cause it but not EQ.
    2. During playback
    3. Nudging an audio clip using Alt and the left and right arrow keys. One nudge is ok, several quick nudges in succession causes a crash.
The machine starts beachballing and never seems to stop. Video playback continues.
This is obviously quite easy to workaround but just wondering if anyone else is having this issue and also wanted to highlight to Adobe.
    Specs:
    Mid 2010 Mac Pro 2 x 2.9GHz 6 Core Xeon
    32GB RAM
    nVidia GTX 680
    240GB SSD boot drive
    2TB internal cache drive
    Adobe Premiere 8.1.0 (81) Build
    OS 10.8.5
    thanks
    Tom

Same issues with nudging audio on a Mac here too.  Flagged it on here last week but no response.  Guess it's just you and I!

  • Booklet crashing during fullscreen movie playback

My Nokia 3G Booklet crashes during fullscreen movie playback, usually after 30 minutes. I'm using the booklet to play to a LCD screen @ 1024 x 768 via the HDMI output. The movies aren't even HD, just 600-700MB Avi files. I'm using Windows Media Player version 12.0.7600.16415. Anybody else have this problem? The Booklet gets pretty hot playing movies too.

About the temperature you should not worry to much, I would suggest you just to try another player, such as GOM Player, and to see if you have same issue, also If you could submit some logs with the latest Error Logs from your system, so that we can check if there is a Kernel Power issue or it might be related to overheating of your CPU. I had seen full movies over HDMI and no issue with it. I guess might be some software issue.

  • G5 crashes during iTunes video playback after Leopard install

I have a G5 1.6 single-processor running 10.5.1. Since I installed Leopard, I have been experiences frequent crashes during iTunes video playback (TV shows bought in the iTunes store). The crashes hang my whole system and require a restart by holding down the power button. The video itself sort of "blip-blip-blips" during the crash, but the mouse and keyboard are unresponsive, windows don't do anything, etc.
Any thoughts? Anyone else with this problem? Thanks!

Ever since I installed Leopard on my dual 2ghz G5, neither itunes nor quicktime player works. They both crash on launch. Maybe not the same issue, but I'm regretting the upgrade.
