    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • I WANT TO DISABLE THE LOCK SCREEN CAMERA

I WANT TO DISABLE THE LOCK SCREEN CAMERA

I know I shall regret asking, but why does keeping the iPhone out of reach of your toddler imply it must also be out of reach of yourself?
I suppose not comepletely out of reach for me, but not out in the open. I would have to put my phone either on top of a high shelf, which I would need to get on a stoll myself to get to, or in a closet or inside a cabinet. The truth is that I spend most of my time at home in the same room as my daughter, which is the layroom, and there aren't really any places there to put my phone out of reach. Putting it our of reach for her would mean missing phonecalls myself.
This is beyond this topic of discussion, really and I'm sorry. My daughter had gotten used to the fact that if she did get a hold of my phone she couldn't do anythig with it. Now she's learned that she can take pictures if she gets a hold of the phone and it's a fight every time she "finds" my phone, because now she wants to be able to take pictures and it's tiring having to take it away from her, deal with the crying and screaming and also have to punish her for the offense. Again, this is getting way off topic.
My opinion on the actual topic of this discussion is that this "feature" shouldn't have been imposed on me, I should've been given a way to disable this feature. It was, in my opinion, not well thought out by apple and I really think we should get a new update that allows us to disable it. (already told apple what I thought, thank you).

  • I can easily by-pass into phone by using camera on lock screen

i just updated my iphone4s to 7.0.4.i can easily by-pass into phone by using camera on lock screen ,is there any recovery??

Yes that is correct - BUT you cannot get onto the phone itself without Passcode or Fingerprint if you have that set up..

  • Better use for the Lock Screen

Why isn't apple making a better use for the Lock Screen (or lets 3rd party apps to do it)?
Why can't we get a preview of our upcoming calendar events, get weather info and other useful information just by pressing ON.
every other smart phone has it. Ever the old Nokia smartphone has it.
    So why aren't we?

I personally will be going back to a blackberry if Apple doesn't fix this issue or allow a third-party app to solve this MAJOR ANNOYANCE!
Wow ... I am sure Apple will be in shock. They have only sold five million phones and obviously everyone has ben wringing their hands this glaring omission.
Seriously, tell Apple here http://www.apple.com/feedback/ as we are just users like you can can do nothing for you and your demands. And signing up for the Board just to say that was a waste of your time but it is of course yours to waste.
And, FWIW I am completely happy about not having my personal information on display on my phone.

  • Ipod touch is stuck on swirly icon after lock screen freezing

My ipod got stuck on the lock screen and wouldn't respond to anything I tried. Left it for 10 minutes and came back and it had gone to the swirly icon screen which normally comes after updating your ipod. It has been on this swirly icon screen for about 30 minutes now. Tried syncing with itunes no response, also restarting using lock and home button does not work. Will not turn off either. I'm going to restore ipod now but it takes 4 hours for the software to update is this right??
    Thank you.

Yes, someties it can take hours for the update.  The download can take hours.
If you can't restore the iPod since iTunes will not see the iPod, disconnect he iPod from a charging source and let the battery full drain.  After charging for an hour try the reset, and restore.  You also may have to place the iPod in recovery mode.  For that see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

  • IPod touch not able to be controlled from lock screen or my car buttons when on lock screen on iOS 6 help

So I updated my iPod touch to iOS 6 now it no longer plays automatically in my car when I start it like before if its locked. Neither can I control it from my stereo buttons if its locked either so I had to set it to never lock the screen. Trying to figure out if there's a way to fix this or do I have to restore it back to iOS 5? I think it's a problem with the lock screen cause I can't even start playing music from it anymore by double clicking the home button like before I just want my old iPod back :( oh btw my car is a ford escape with sync audiophile I love my stereo and just want my **** iPod to work right

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
Or it could be that the update broke the compatibility. That happens sometimes. I would contact the car system manufacturer.

  • My ipod touch flashes the apple logo and the lock screen. How do I fix it?

My ipod touch 4th Generation will flash from the Apple Logo to my locked screen.  Although when I plug in my headphones everything works perfectly.  I have not had this ipod very long and i have already recieved a new one from Apple before. I have also tried reseting it as well.

First try restoring the iPod from backup.
Next try restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • I wanted to keep my locked screen display with the time and date from turning off is that possible

So I enjoy my locked screen display with my chosen picture because it has the time displayed nice and big and its a cool nightlight but the locked screen display/wallpaper/time with date always goes black after 13ish seconds of locking it is there no way to let the locked screen stay on while charging? because it is awesome if it could stay on as a nightlight also so i dont have to press the lock button to see what time because the normal display is ugly am I just being super picky or am I not the only one who agrees or maybe it does exist im just stupid please respond when you can also thanks for reading much appreciated.

Again, there is NO WAY to do what you asked: display the time constantly.
I have a clock app that displays the time constantly on my iPad. I use it as a bedside clock. Many clock apps have the ability to disable autolock just within that app. Whether there is one that lets you pick your own background, I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if there were, based on the number of clock apps out there. While what I'm suggestion is not precisely what the OP asked (display the system lock screen), it seems it might be a possible workaround.

  • Deleted photo that was used for Wallpaper (lock screen)

I used a picture for my Wallpaper (my lock screen), then deleted it.  How can I get a copy of that picture saved in my album again?

I am afraid you can no way recover a Picture in iphone until you have a backup on your computer

  • How do I access my iPod Touch (5th Generation). Broken Home Key, Locked Screen, No assistive touch currently off and no access to itunes on original PC.

So a friend had damaged her iPod touch by dropping it some time ago. It has been sitting in her drawer ever since (she got a new device). It is now out of warranty and she said I could have it, but only catch is i'd have to fix it some how.
    Problems are:
    1) iPod is locked - She doesn't know the passcode it was set to.
    2) Home key broken - Unable to do a reset as per the many links I see online.
    3) Assistive touch is off - Unable to turn this on as the phone is locked and I can't unlock it.
    4) We no longer have access to the original PC that it was sync'd with. I've managed to get it linked to my itunes but can't do anything with it do to the fact it won't let me as iPod is locked.
So basically it almost seems there is nothing that can be done but would appreciate your help if possible. Ideally if I can get it unlocked without losing the data so I can keep the music that is on there it would be good. If not then a full reset is fine.
Can this be done? Can we turn on assistive touch without unlocking the phone and no home key? Please help,

  • How much will it cost to get my iPod 4g touch fixed if both my power button (locks screen) and home button doesn't work?

I do not have apple care nor insurance for my iPod so i'm wondering how much it will cost? or will they just replace it with a refurbrished one?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. If only battery is bad the exchange price is $79. They do not fix yours.

Using touch ID to wake up and unlock your phone or simulate press of home button when touch ID authentication is not requirethe.
The feature would be great to use. Could be placed on settings to enable or disable the option.

When the phone is locked it would be nice feature to wake up the phone and unlock on touch of home button using Touch ID.
(Instead of pressing the home button).
