Touch ID not working at all

Hi, the Touch ID on my Iphone 5s is not working at all. It does not respond when I use it and I can´t put in any new fingerprints because it´s not reading my fingers. Any help?

It sounds like the sensor has failed. The symptom of this would be if there is no setting for Touch ID in Settings. As all 5S models are still in warranty take it to an Apple store for exchange. Make a backup first, both on your computer and iCloud (belt and suspenders), and make an appointment so you won't have to wait at http://apple.com/store.

    Quite possibly.  It wouldn't hurt to try another one if at all possible. If you have to, borrow one from a friend.  It could also be due to debris in the docking port of your iPod.  Take a look on the inside of the port and make sure there is no lint or anything like that.  Also look for broken pins as they would definitely cause connection issues as well.

    I left my ipod touch plugged into my computer overnight whilst my computer was on sleep mode. before i left, the ipod had synced the tracks i had plugged in it for. however, when i got home the next day the ipod would not turn back on via computer or dock. i have tried resetting the the ipod (holding lock and home button) but still no luck. anyone have any ideas to why this has happened?

    1. Connect your iPad to iTunes (computer)
    2. In iTunes, select your device.
    3.From the Summary pane, click "Configure Universal Access" in the Options section at the bottom.

    If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

    When resetting the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod fails to resolve a problem, the problem is likely due to a a hardware problem. An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is then in order.

    -When it says place the iPod in recovery mode use this program instead of the buttons.
    RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • 8500 All in One - touch screen not working

    One minute the touch screen with all it's functions was working fine and then, bam (!), the touch screen stopped working and I can't even use the one/off switch to power the unit off - it does not respond.  Funny thing is that the printer is still working from my computer so I can still send a print job via the wireless.   With the touch screen not working I can't use any function from the unit itself (copy a hard copy, fax a hard copy) and if the unit runs out of paper I have to unplug it to reboot since I can't hit the 'enter' on the touch screen once I've reloaded. 
    Bottom line --- nothing from the unit itself works.  Has a printer fairy locked me out or does this sound like a hardware error?  Thanks for any help ...

    Excellent.  Let me know how round 2 treats you.  The sad demise could have been due to a couple of things...as a side question, is the climate where you live especially dry right now?  I may request that our testers recheck how well we handle a static shock on the product if it is dry where you live.

    Do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
    If that does not help, take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out to make sure there is not a hardware issue.

    Sometimes electrical components needs to have all power sources removed and reintroduced to work properly.  Try performing a hard reset first, if it doesn't work then we'll move to the next step.
    To Perform A Hard Reset
    Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for  5 seconds); (if the computer doesn't power on, move to the next step)
    Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
    Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook.  There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
    Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
    Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.
