Touch pad freezes when gestures are enabled

hp dv6-6112nr, windows 7 home premium 64 bit, synaptic touchpad version 7.5 (driver version 15.2.4.4).
I have latest driver for synaptic device, but i can not enable gestures, since it causes the touch pad to lock when i visit some websites like yahoomail and gmail....

Hi!
Have you tested an external mouse on the notebook? Does it work or not?
Its really hard to say what is the reason for this because Im not a notebook technician but have you tried to update the touchpad driver? You can find it on the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
What OS do you use and have you installed the notebook with the Toshiba recovery disk or Microsoft disk?

  • Syncing to iPhone 3GS - Freezes when Photos are synced, after 1st sync

    Using iTunes 9.1.1.12 and iPhone 3GS 3.1.3.
When syncing, the sync freezes when Photos are included to be synced. It just hangs at the end of the sync process, and never completes.
If I don't include the Photos to be synced, it syncs fine.
If I then choose to re-sync the Photos and delete the folder: "iPod Photo Cache"... It re-syncs fine again (and places all photos on iPhone). But if I immediately sync again, without un-checking Photos to be synced, it hangs again at the end.
    Please help.

  • HP Touch Pad freezing and will not restart nor shut down.

My HP Touch Pad will not reboot nor shut off. I have a "hp" logo on the screen that will not go away. I have tried all of the 5 Ts with no sucess. I tried downloading webOS Doctor several times but when it went to connect my device I got an error message that stated " Connect your device directly to your computer with your usb cable."  The screen below has "Help" and "Next". Next is greyed out. I inserted the usb cable into different ports on my computer and made sure that they were listed under my computer tab. I was unable to get the "Next" button to be useable.  Any ideas about how I can make this connect to the touchpad? or even how I can get it to unfreeze. Appreciate any help.

Just to be sure you've followed the directions fully, here is my "Doctor How To" file:
How to Doctor an HP TouchPad (reflash the ROM)
On your Touchpad be sure to have:
USB cable. The battery is charged to at least 30%.
    Computer:
Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista Available USB port (not a hub or secondary port). Java 1.5 or later is installed. If you are not sure about what version of Java you have, or even if Java is installed, go to www.java.com and click the Do I have Java? link to install the latest version of Java. 210MB of storage space. Internet connection.
    Miscellaneous Info:
The update process will take approximately 15 minutes. During this process, your device will not be available for use.
    Downloading webOS Doctor
Download webOS Doctor on your desktop computer. If you have a webOS profile, get it from http://ws.hpwebos.com/webosdoctor/sorry.htm
If not, check the webOS Internals page: http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Webos_Doctor_Versions
Get your TouchPad ready to update
Hold the Power Button for several seconds until a menu appears. Tap Shut Down to completely power down your device.
    Running webOS Doctor
Double-click the file that was downloaded to run webOS Doctor. Follow the on screen directions up until you are asked to connect your device. Select the language you selected on your device, and click Next. Confirm your language choice. Click Accept to accept the terms of use. Click Next. webOS Doctor checks your system. BE PATIENT! I've seen this part take a few minutes to complete. After webOS Doctor finishes checking your system, you will be asked to connect your device.
Connecting your device and finishing the webOS Doctor update
Connect your device to your computer using the USB cable. You must connect your device directly to your computer, not through a USB hub or other intermediate device. Now the tricky part. Hold the Volume Up button on the device and insert the USB cable. After the large USB symbol appears on screen, let go of the Volume Up button. If you see the HP logo instead of the large USB symbol, you may have let go of the Volume Up button prematurely. If this occurred , wait until your device boots up, shut down your device and then repeat step 2. Windows will find your device and may offer to install two different drivers. When asked to install drivers of OMAP, select No, not at this time. When asked to install drivers for Palm Novacom (bootie), select Yes and let the drivers install. This may take a while. Once the drivers have been installed, the Next button will become available in webOS Doctor. Click Next. Do not disconnect your device from the computer during the update process. When the Reset Complete screen appears, click Done. Wait a few minutes for your device to reset. You're done!

  • (1) understanding why Firefox consistently crashes; (2) why Firefox does not acknowledge when "cookies" ARE enabled.

Firefox will crash while I am using the internet...no warning, no apparent reason...just an apology for the crash. Why?
Today, when using an Adobe application Firefox did not recognize or allow the website to recognize that "cookies" WERE enabled. I kept receiving a message that the website could not proceed until same was enabled. Even after several redoing the enabling instructions, the message report the cookies were NOT enabled. Yet, as I write this the screen menu drop down in Tools, Options shows the cookies is programmed and are enabled. Why? How to fix?

  • Touch pad freezes on Satellite A350-02T

I just purchased a brand new Satellite A350-02T laptop. I've only used it twice, and both times I've used it, the touch pad, at some point, has stopped working. Well, not "stopped", but becomes flakey, figitty, freezes, stalls... it's kind of hard to explain.
It will move a bit then freeze, then move a bit and freeze.
Also, I noticed yesterday when I was using it, the scroll option stopped working. I was viewing a .pdf document and it was allowing me to scroll one second, and then the next second, I couldn't scroll. I tried opening the web browser and scrolling but it still wouldn't let me. I rebooted the computer and it seemed fine again.
    Any suggestions?

  • Probook 450 G2 Touch Pad freezes Occasionally

Brand new Laptop. Touch pad will occasionally freeze but i can still click and scroll using the arrows on the keyboard. WIl start working again maybe after a couple of minutes. Any idea how to fix?? Running on windows 7 professional

I have exactly the same problem with an Aspire Switch SW5-171. Following the instructions of an Acer tech on chat, I refreshed the system (driver reinstallation) to no avail, and then I reinstalled Windows, which didn't work either. I submitted a repair request, but I only got a reply to contact Acer by phone. The freezes can usually be resolved by putting the system to sleep and disconnecting and reconnecting the table from the keyboard. Freezes happen more often, but not exclusively, when using browsers. If this were a driver issue, I would agree with your comments, and an updated driver might resolve it, but I suspect it's  a hardware issue with some kind of intermitent operation of the touchpad, because USB mice connected to the keyboard USB port work perfectly consistently all the time with my unit, and because the freezes can be resolved temporarily by the steps I mentioned above. Acer ought to test units for this issue and release an updated driver if it's stablished that interference with other software is the problem. Otherwise, the detachable touch pad/keyboard must be replaced under warranty.

  • IPod Touch 2G Freezes Whenever Headphones Are Not Plugged In

A few months ago, my iPod Touch 2G (8GB) was having problems with the headphone jack (sound would only come out of one side of the headphones). I was still in warranty and I sent it in to Apple. They sent me back an iPod (I'm not sure if it's the same one I had or a new one) that no longer had that headphone jack problem and apparently worked fine. Over the next couple of months I noticed that the iPod will freeze consistently. If no headphones are plugged in then it will freeze almost instantly when I try to do something such as running an app or playing music. It usually works fine with headphones plugged in, but on occasion it will freeze when I try to adjust the volume. I checked my serial on the apple website and was told that my warranty had run out. I thought it to be a firmware issue or something but I've restored it several times and the problem still occurs. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

When restoring an iPod to factory settings/new iPod fails to resolve a problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IBook freezes when items are sent to print

    hi there.
our iBook freezes whenever we send something to print. the icon for the printer never shows up in the icon bar and there is no reaction from the printer, but when the computer is restarted, the printer spits out whatever was being printed.
this happens no matter how many applications are open, and even when the printer's usb cable is plugged directly into the computer (our normal set-up has the printer's usb plugged into a usb hub that houses a couple other peripherals.)
    any ideas?

Are you trying to download items simultaneously? If so, you may be taxing the RAM on the iPad. You mention apps download fine as long as you are not trying to download any other content at the same time. I would suggest one download at a time if the iPad is freezing when you perform simlutaneous downloads.
If you insist on continuing that way - and it is your choice to do so - you may want to close any open apps and restart the iPad on occasion if you want to download this way.

  • Having trouble with the touch pad responding when I click it on the macbook pro I have to click it about 3 to 4 times before it works

has anyone had trouble with the touch pad on the macbook pro not working properly. I have to click it 3 or 4 times befre it responds. Can these be replaced?

Your MacBook Pro has enough compute power to do airframe stress analysis modeling or weather forecasting. This is not a computational issue.
Most USB printers do the imaging on the Mac, then send the stream of bits to the printer. The speed of doing this depends on the Printer driver.
Some drivers will image the page in "slices", and then pause to image the next slice after the first one completes. This may also depend on whether you have enough RAM memory available to do the imaging for a whole page at a time.
You have not mentioned what Printer, or whether this is indeed the latest driver for it.

  • IWork freezes when iCloud is enabled

I have installed the latest iWork apps running on Mavericks 10.9.4 and whenever 'documents and data' is enabled in the iCloud pane, opening pages or whatever iWork app freezes the mac and have to force quit. Goes very slow and jerky, the iCloud docs appear after a while but cannot click on any of them. I've tried signing out of iCloud and signing back in, reinstalling the iWork apps but no luck. When I turn off iCloud I can open pages fine but obviously can't access my iCloud docs.

Posted below is some trouble shooting steps you can try along with some questions I have. Posted first are the questions for you iPhone 23
    1. What kind of router are you connecting to? And what kind of security is it set on?
2.Have you ever been able to connect successfully to your home wifi without the iPhone Freezing?
3.Have you ever been able to connect to any WiFi network at all that is not your home? If so does iPhone still freeze?
    Troubleshooting
    1. Go to Settings-Wireless- Your network name will have a blue circle, Tap on it
    2. On the top tap forget this network
3.Now hold your Sleep/Wake Button and your Home Button down together till you see the Apple Logo, Once you see the Apple Logo let go iPhone will reboot.
4.Now go to Settings-WiFi- and connect to your network and test Safari out
If this fails, Go to Airplane Mode- Toggle Airport mode on for 30 seconds then turn off, Reconnect to your WiFi test Safari again
    5. If this still fails. Then make sure all Data on your iPhone is backed up. And then Restore your iPhone and see if issue continues. If issue continues after restore please report your results here.
Again I would like if possible for you to test on another network besides the one at your home to see if the iPhone does the same thing. Depending on your results you post here. Next step would be call iPhone Technical Support. 1-800-275-2273

  • Flash play freezes when settings are opened

For some time, when I access my flash player settings thru my
web browser, it freezes. I cannot advance to any tabs or select
anything, nor even close the settings window.
The settings that were saved from when it worked are no
longer saved so when i go on a site like stickam and attempted to
turn on my webcam, the settings window opens asking me to allow and
it freezes, thus forcing me to have to close the window.
    can anyone help me?

I did not notice that I was in full scree mode. Yes that the issue, out of full screen it works like before.
Thanks a lot for the hint.

  • My ipod touch is freezing when it tells me to restore what do i do!

i tried to upgrade to the new software thinking it would do nothing to my ipod but it did now it is constantly in recovery mode i cant do anything with it it tells me to restore it so i try and it freezes whilst in the middle of restoring any ideas

Take a look at this link http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/troubleshooting/ipodtouch/
I would suggest removing itunes through add/remove and then installing the latest version 7.6 and then hook your Ipod up and reset it while it's hooked up.
    To Reset you do this
    1. Turn iPod Touch OFF completely.
    2. Plug iPod Touch into PC/MAC while still off.
    3. Turn iPod touch on, then IMMEDIATELY do the following steps
    4. Hold the 'Home button' and 'sleep/wake' button together for atleast 5 seconds.
    5. The Apple logo will appear
    6. When this happens release the 'sleep/wake' button BUT KEEP HOLD OF 'HOME' BUTTON
    7. Your iPod will reboot (Apple logo)
    6. iTunes will recognise iPod in 'Recovery mode'
    8. You will be able to 'restore' your iPod Touch now.
