Touch pad mouse issue synaptics Touchpad v7.5

I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and i have the issue of when I press a key on the keyboard the mouse freezes the normal thing to do here is to disable palm checker (worked on windows 8) However now this dose not work I press a key i can move the mouse for one stroke then it freeze, how do i fix this is it a keyboard issue a mouse issue or a known issue

, Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forums.  The only options with this problem are as follows.  Wait for Microsoft to update the list of drivers and software patches over the next little while or roll back to windows 8.1.  With any operating system to update the first week it comes out is a risk as to what is going to work 100% or not.  When dealing with notebook some of the hardware takes custom drivers and software and the general functions may work but not all of the extra functions. I hope this helps. Thanks again for the post and have a great day.

  • My HP ProBook S-series laptop touch pad mouse does not respond to me

My touch pad responds to my tech guy, to my friends, but not to me!  It's like my fingers don't work on it, regardless of the pressure I use or the part of the pad I touch.  Other than getting a new set of fingers - which in itself is problematic - what can I do about this? Has anyone else had this problem?  It's brand new & this was a problem from the get-go.   I had an old Dell latitude D600 & it worked fine for me.
    Please help!

Well changing fingers is no easy task so I think we better find another solution. Have you tried other fingers? Also make sure the touchpad has not been locked by firmly tapping the top left section of the pad. This is how you can quickly enable or disable the touchpad.

my touchpad mouse has randomly dissapeared and is not working at all, its so annoying i need help thank you

    Hi @Shannon_
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are have problems with your touchpad on your notebook, and I am happy to help. Please post the full product number and operating system in use on your notebook. See the following documents if you need help in finding those.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
With that I can find the drivers and support pages for your model.
Since from what you say, it just happened recently, a quick potential fix, is to try a system restore to a point before the problem happened, if a restore point is available. It is quite possible that some update, software install, or something similar could have caused the issue and this is a way to roll back to before it happened.
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
If that does work, then see if the problem recurs later, and try to make note of what software may have caused it.

  • Touch Pad, mouse not working on lower 25% of screen

Have not seen this question, yet.   When on a web page, my double tap/left click does not work on about the lower 25% of the page.  The scroll arows work, but cannot click or type on the page if in the lower portion of the page.  After scrolling up to the middle of the page, then I can click a box or type info with no problem.  My drivers are up to date.   For example could not click on POST unless I scroll the box up an inch or so.
Using windows 7 and have all service packs & updated.

    Hi Rwischmann,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read that your HP Notebook and the touchscreen not working correctly. Here is a fix from Microsoft to resolve the Touchscreen.
he touchscreen shouldn't need recalibration, but if you or another user has recalibrate it, it may affect the performance of the touchscreen.
Here’s how to check or restore the factory default calibration using a keyboard or mouse:
Step 1: Press the Windows logo key Windows logo key + S to open Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search Search charm.)
Step 2:Type Control Panel, then use the arrow keys to highlight Control Panel, and press Enter.
    (Or, click Control Panel.)
Step 3:In Control Panel, use the arrow keys to highlight Hardware and Sound and press Enter.
    (Or, click Hardware and Sound.)
Step 4:Under Tablet PC Settings use the arrow keys to highlight Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input, and press Enter.
(Or, click Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.)
Step 5:Use the Tab key to select the Reset button, and press Enter.
    (Or, click Reset.)
If the Reset button is grayed out, your Surface touch calibration is still at factory settings and you can move to Solution 3.
Step 6:Use the Tab key to select Yes, press Enter, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
(Or, click Yes, and then follow the instructions on the screen.)
Step 7:After Surface removes recalibration data, test touch input again.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • New wireless Touch Magic Mouse issues

OK so I just my BRAND NEW wireless magic mouse from mac only to find out it does NOT work with my unibody macbook pro!!
I read where I need Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 or Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I have version 10.6 on my laptop now but there are NO software updates available. I can use the basic features of any wireless mouse which are to track and click but no touch features work at this time.
Is there a fix for this now or do I have to wait until Apple make the update available for download?

I believe this is the update you need:

  • G580 Keyboard/Touch Pad/Mouse doing the strangest things

I hope I am posting in the right section. Either way, I hope that someone would have an idea what the hell is happening with my laptop. It was working fine for a couple of months, and out of nowhere, from yesterday it started doing the craziest stuff I've seen any PC/Laptop do.
The buttons on the left don't work at all (the num pad numbers). The numbers above the alphabet keys write only symbols e.g.: 12345.. --> !@#$%..., and nothing can change that. The windows key doesn't work at all, and other strange keyboard behavior. And that is not all. On top of that, when I click an icon on the desktop, all the other icons become marked as well, and when I open "This PC" (win 8.1), it opens not only "My computer", but 10 more folders. I cannot undo it, it does that in every folder I go in, it just marks everything, and even if I click on empty space, they still stay as "marked".
Things get even more strange. The problem is not fixed by restart, safe boot or restore point (I tried them all), it is fixed by restarting the PC, but while its booting, I spam F2+F8+F12 at the same time, and when the laptop loads, everything works just fine, like nothing ever happened. But when I restart it (without spamming the F2+F8+F12 keys), it goes bad all over again...
I have never seen such strange behavior out of a laptop, like ever. I am sorry if my description of the problem is not good enough, but I hope someone has the slightest idea what is going on.

    hi daniel2215,
    Welcome to the Forums.
The weird behavior of the number keys only shows symbols and all the icon on the desktop gets highlighted by clicking only one icon is most likely caused by a defective shift key as it's the same behavior when you have icons listed vertically and you hold shift key and click the icon at the bottom (same goes to folders).
    Things that you can try:
    1. Use Passmark's Keyboard Test to check the input of the keyboard keys
    2. Use a live cd (i.e. Ubuntu Live) to isolate if the issue is OS level. If the same thing happens to the live OS, you most likely have a defective keyboard and you need to contact lenovo for service.
    Note:
For models preloaded with Windows 8, you may need to turn off UEFI, Secure Boot, and OS Optimized Defaults to Disabled/Legacy mode/Other OS mode for the Live OS to work.

  • W520 - touch pad left click issue

Earlier today my left touch pad mouse click started to stop functioning correctly. It will only work correctly every 8 to 15 times it is clicked leaving it unresponsive and unpredictable. The right works perfectly fine as do the trackpad buttons. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and have sprayed compressed air under the key.
I had a similar problem with the laptop when i first got it but at that time the touch pad itself as well as the left click did not function properly. The face plate was replaced which fixed the issue.
Is there anything i can do software wise that might fix the problem before i have to pay to fix the hardware?

    Hi Tony
If the unit is not the old one you should contact your local dealer or maybe Toshiba service partner in your country. Your unit has a valid warranty and you can ask them if there is a possibility to do something about that.

  • Awkward touch-pad on notebook

I have an HP Pavilion DV7 notebook with the touch-pad mouse and integrated buttons. From what I can see, the buttons are integrated within the touch-sensitive area of the touch pad, so when I position the mouse to where I want it and place my finger on the left touch-pad button, the on-screen cursor moves away from where I placed it. I have to be very careful how I press the left or right touch-pad mouse buttons so that the on-screen cursor does not move which is VERY annoying.
Is there anyway to change this behaviour so that the mouse/touch-pad buttons are NOT considered part of the tracking mechanism? Thanks.

  • Issues with Fn-keys and Synaptics touchpad on Asus X51RL laptop

    Hello,
Since I installed Arch on my laptop, it's been working great. But I still have a few issues:
    1) Fn-keys do not work. The brightness Fn-keys work, but I think that's done internally by the laptop, since it works even in the BIOS. The sound Fn-keys don't work, which is the ones I really need. How can I fix this? And I read somewhere that I have to switch from the kbd drivers to the evdev driver, is that true?
    2) Since the latest update to the synaptics package in testing, the touchpad lost one-touch tapping, along with some other stuff. I know the solution is to disable hotplugging, but I sometimes need to plug in a keyboard or mouse, so I can't. How can I retain the scrolling and one-touch tapping settings from Xorg.conf AND hotplugging while using the latest synaptics?
    3) The pre-configured options for the synaptics touchpad in the archwiki are good, but not that accurate. The size of the scrolling section of the touchpad is a bit too large, among other things. It's a minor problem compared to the others, but it'd be nice to fix it. In Windows, I definitely remember the settings being more accurate. Is there a way to have the Synaptics driver autodetect like the Windows one, or am I missing something here?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

I have the S62J (Intel verified whatnot version) with this Asus, the brightness keys work. I think they are hard wired though as they work in the BIOS.
I tried the acpi-support, but I haven't had any luck with it yet. I'll have to mess with it some more to see if I'm missing something.
I'm also wondering if there isn't a different keyboard layout I should use. I notice that there is a 30-something-asus-something.fdi (I'm not on the notebook at the moment) on the system, but I don't know if it's being used by anything.
The other observation is that using the Fn button is throwing ACPI calls into my dmesg.log file. I need to research to find out how to use them.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - Synaptics touchpad issue using Win 7

Satellite Pro P100 with Synaptics touch pad, was running Vista, now Win 7 64 bit.
The original driver had an option "disable when external pointing device connected".
I have installed a driver from Synaptics Synaptics_v14_0_3_C_XP64_Vista64_Win7-64_Signed_default.exe which does not have this check box.
It works fine except that sometimes the Microsoft Mouse turns off and on every few seconds as it or the touchpad fight each. I have to disable the touchpad.
Then next time I turn on. If I do so without a mouse, I cannot use the touchpad, until i plug in the mouse, reactivate, then unplug the mouse.
    Thanks

Sorry, but this problem is reccurring more frequently (like every 2 or 3 days). The driver you recommend does not have the "disable touchpad when external mouse connected", nor does the Fn+F9 button work. Both touchpad and mouse are active at the same time with the result that the mouse becomes active, inactive, active, inactive every few seconds, and is that happens the secondary monitor goes blank (which is normal when new drivers are being installed, such as for an unrecognised flash drive). Thanks.

  • Equium A200-1VO - touch pad doesn't work but external mouse does

I had a problem with my hard drive not working this just happened over night so I replaced the hard drive no problem and rebooted the system.
All is ok but the touch pad will not work.
I have tried FN+F9 this is ok I have updated the touch pad program still not working.
    Please HELP!!!

To determine if its an hardware issue or a software issue do the following...
    1) go into bios (f2) and set it to default settings and save
    2) insert toshiba recovery cd and wait till the menu appears
You should be able to move the mouse inside the recovery GUI, if it doesnt move then try holding function and f9 again.
If this still doesnt work then your touchpad could be faulty.
*Note* dont start the wizard to recover vista because it will overwrite your data, just cancel this if the touchpad works under this.
If not just turn your laptop off and remove the recovery disk.

  • Touch pad and mouse

My Microsoft wireless mouse and my laptop touch pad are not working properly.  Example:  when I click a link in an email, I normally would left click & the link would open.  Now, with both devices, I must right click the link & choose the open command, which isn't that big of a deal but some links won't open with any kind of click.   It would correct itself if I did a system restore, but restore doesn't work anymore because my computer had a vius.  I have uninstalled & reinstalled, drives are up to date.  I have checked the settings for both, normal right hand set up.  Am I missing something?  Any help would be greatly apprecciated.
    Thanks,

I grasp that you mouse and TouchPad are not functioning correctly as you have no left click on either.  You have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and checking the settings but no change.
You did state you are unable to do a recovery as you had a virus and is no longer available.
