> I check already the setting and I set into default
I dont know what do you mean with default but if possible reinstall OS again and test touchpad functionality with clean preinstalled OS and factory settings.
How to do this you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

Can use a USB mouse as a back-up but as the laptop is only 5 weeks old I would of expected it to be all good for a lot longer?

Please go to control panel (Win key + X -> control panel) -> mouse
Here you will find differetn options realted to touchpad and mouse
There shoudl be an option which disables the touchpad when external device (USB mouse) is conencted.
Check if this not the case!

  • Satellite Click 2 L30W-B - Touch Pad Stops Working

    Hi,
When I log into my computer after few minutes y touch pad stops working, the icon I the system tray has a red cross through it and if I go to properties it is not my touch pad but it says other device. i have updated the touch pad driver to no avail

but once I did the windows update it stopped working again.
I assume your notebook was equipped with ELAN touchpad.
The reason why the touchpad stopped working was an updated distributed by Microsoft.
Here in this thread you can find the whole discussion:
    https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?82754
    Solution:
    • Shut off the notebook
    • Connect external USB mouse
    • Boot up the notebook
    • Set the OS back to early time point (last Windows restore point)
After that you could try to install the Windows updates but uncheck (don't install) the ELAN driver update.

laptop curser and touch pad stopped working for my pesario cq61 how do i fix it?

    Hello jamdizzle,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand the touch pad on your notebook has stopped working. I will help you out the best I can!
I do have a workaround that may work, if you wish to try it:
    1. Go into Device Manager, then Mice and other pointing devices.
    2. Right-click on the mouse driver, and select "Uninstall".
    3. Restart the computer. This will force the computer to install a driver based on the detected hardware.
This should resolve the issue. If not, please provide the following information:
    1. The computer's model number. If you require assistance locating this information, please reference this website: Guide to finding your product number
    2. The computer's operating system. If you require assistance locating this information, please reference this website to determine your Windows operating system.
    3. Have you installed any new hardware on this computer, before the issue appeared?
    4. Have you installed any new software or drivers on this computer, before the issue appeared?

I've also discovered a problem with my Touch Pad. I've had my Zen Touch only a matter of days and the pad has become over sensiti've and perculiar. I only have to hover my finger above it and it starts moving although it doesn't stop on what I want it to, it just shoots down to something below. I have the sensitivity set to low and it was working last night. It hasn't been dropped or knocked.
    Can anyone help me?!?
I feel ever so slightly annoyed as it's pretty much brand new as I only received it a few days ago.
I had the same problem when I first got my Touch. I have the sensitivity set to the lowest setting. It has helped. It might also be that you just aren't used to the pad yet. That took me a couple months, but 5 months later, it works great for me.

  • Tecra A3X-112 : Fn + F1... Touch pad stop working

    Hello everybody,
I have a Tecra A3X-112 on which Windows XP has been recently reinstalled.
I have installed Windows XP before with other different copies, but this is the first time I experienced some misadjustments.
My problem is that the Fn key combined with F1, F2... keys stopped working, as well as the Assist bottoms placed on the top of the keybord.
Besides, the Touch Pad works, but I cannot disable it.
I have been looking at the messages of some other users and it seems that it is a problem of downloading the proper drivers from Toshiba webpage.
My question is: which drivers for which keys?
    a. for *Fn + Function keys* should I intalled *Utilities* or *Hotkeys Utilities for Display Devices*? There are even some users who recommend to installed a BIOS update or a Common Module driver, but I am not sure about that. By installing the proper driver, are all the combinations of Fn + Function keys work, or just some of them?
    b. for *Touch Pad*, should I intalled only *Touch Pad On/Off Utility* or *Touch Pad Driver* is also necessary?
    c. for *Assist bottoms*?
    Send me some answers, please.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello
The FN keys functionality depends on few different factors. At first it is important to have installed Common modules. It is so called base for other Toshiba designed tools and utilities.
Just for example: for using FN+F2 (power saver options) you must install Common modules and Power saver tool.
So as first step I recommend you to install Common modules again.
When you are finished check FN functionality and post the result.
For FN+F9 you need to install TOSHIBA Touch Pad On/Off Utility. Before this it must be installed ALPS Pointing-device Driver.
You know, it is not easy to offer simply solution to this. All drivers, tools and utilities shuld be installed in right installations order. After doing this everything should work well.
One more thing, for assist buttons try with TOSHIBA Controls.

  • Yoga Keyboard and touch pad stop working...

I just received my new Yoga and have noticed a very annoying glitch.  The keyboard and touchpad stop working and the only way to get them back is by closing the lid and opening it again.  It seems to do it when I use the touchscreen while in the "laptop" position.   Any suggestions?  I am curious if it is a defect or if I am turning them off some how.
    Help!

Has anyone ever had their keyboard and touchpad randomly become unresponsive?  I've had the machine for two days now without issue.  In the last hour though this has happened three times.  Putting the machine to sleep using the power button and waking it back up brings them back to life.  Is this a driver issue, or?  When this happens the touchscreen still operates normally.

  • Touch pad stops working when I plug my external hard drive in????

    Exactly that.
I an have HP Envy 14 Spectre, it's about 6 months old and hasn't given me any trouble until now. Whenever I plug my external hard drive in the touch pad starts behaving eratically and won't respong properly, it's really bizzare and very annoying. I've looked around but I can't find anyone with a similar probem to me on the web so I'm really stumped about what to do.
    Any suggestions will be apprectiated.
    Thanks.

If the system is updated, try the Forced Reset:
    Reset your notebook:
Notebooks- Forced Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues- Sealed Non-Removable Battery
     OR
Notebooks - Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues - Removable Battery
I am assuming you have the system UPDATED.  If not, then you should make sure it IS updated with the latest TouchPad driver.  Start at
    Support and Drivers
Enter your information, put in the OS and Click Next -- Scroll down.
Check under Mouse and Keyboard stuff.
Is the BIOS on the latest?  Probably.  Do not mess with the BIOS unless there is a good reason to do so.  Read the update information in your computer's driver update page -- see if the update applies to your system.
    Updating the BIOS
If you decide to update your BIOS,
    Disconnect all USB drives
    Always run in AC power
Do not touch the system while the update is in progress
Optional: leave wireless button ON, but turn off the router (to make sure there are no interruptions)
Next, Call HP.  Frankly, it could be hardware.  Sounds just odd.  You may has well take advantage of that warranty.  See what HP says.  They may have seen this before and if so, it will be in the HP database.
    Contact HP
    USA/Canada – Contact HP // Self-Help – Email - Chat
HP may want to have you do a Recovery on the system - that is back up all your personal data and then reinstall the Operating System.  If you have Windows 8, you might get away with backing up your personal data and doing a Refresh... Regardless, you may as well plan on making a full set of backups because at some point soon you are going to need them.
HP PCs - Backing Up Your Files (Windows 7)
HP PCs - Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8)
Will the Recovery / Refresh / Reset fix it?  It may well fix it if the software is at fault.  Nothing will get better if there is a hardware problem as the root cause - throwing software around doesn't fix hardware issues.  You have to throw software at a problem sometimes to convince folks that the hardware is broken.  Smiling.
    Good Luck!
    Kind Regards,

  • Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 369847B touch pad stops working after re-docking screen

Hi, I've been having problems with the touchpad on my Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 369847B.  If I un-dock the screen to use in tablet mode and then re-dock with the keyboard, the touchpad might not work (no mouse, no left or right click), but the screen and keyboard still work. The same also happens (sometimes) if I sleep the machine by closing the screen then  re-opening.  Can't find a way to get the touchpad to work again, other than a restart, which is quite frustrating. Tried removing the screen, resetting the keyboard with a paperclip and re-docking - but no luck. Can anyone please tell me how to get the machine to recognise the touchpad again, without having to do a reboot?   Or any way to stop this happening? Machine stats:Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 369847BWindows 8.1 Pro 64-bit Also the machine is fully updated via Lenovo System Update & Windows update + latest keyboard firmware. Thanks Christopher

    hi paul_peria,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Can you try Opening Device Manager and open Human interface Devices
Uninstall everything that starts under with "HID-"
If your are not done uninstalling all and it asked for a restart choose restart later then continue uninstalling the one's that starts with HID-
Then Restart your system, check if the touch functionality works.
Can you also check under System Properties windows if it shows touch input detected

Very upset my touch screen stopped working on phone new years eve.  What could be wrong??

        flakris,
Oh no! This is not what we like to hear. I want to make sure that we are able to get your phone back up and running. Is there any kind of physical or liquid damage to the device? Can you try to press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons until the device powers off then release (approximately 10 seconds). Please keep us posted.
