Touch pad suddenly locked...

When I was using my notebook, the touch pad suddenly appeared locked, and I have no idea what button have I pressed to make the touch pad locked... If anyone know how to unlock the touch pad, please teach me!! My notebook model is Hp ProBook 4530s...Looking for your help...Thanks!!

You'll need to connect the device to your iTunes library in recovery mode and restore it. See this article for instructions on getting your iPod into Recovery Mode.

I have an HP TouchPadm, but last year I put a pin on it to keep it locked. Than my charger broke so I didn't use it for a few months until I got a new one. Now my HP TouchPad is charged, but I forget the PIN because it's been so long. I've tryed every number combination I could think of and can't get it open. Touch pad freezes when gestures are enabled

hp dv6-6112nr, windows 7 home premium 64 bit, synaptic touchpad version 7.5 (driver version 15.2.4.4).
I have latest driver for synaptic device, but i can not enable gestures, since it causes the touch pad to lock when i visit some websites like yahoomail and gmail....

Have you tested an external mouse on the notebook? Does it work or not?
Its really hard to say what is the reason for this because Im not a notebook technician but have you tried to update the touchpad driver? You can find it on the Toshiba website:

What OS do you use and have you installed the notebook with the Toshiba recovery disk or Microsoft disk?

Touch Pad of Satellite P50-A-M13 doesn't work anymore - Solution

before someone should have the same problem, I wanted to share my problem and my solution here:
Information about my system:
I have installed Windows 8.1 Professional and Scientific Linux 6.5 in Dual Boot on my Toshiba Satellite P50-A-M13.
_*Problem:*_
The Touch Pad suddenly doesn't work below Windows 8.1 Professional anymore, the mouse pointer vanishes after a reboot. You can't deactivate/activate the Touch Pad with the F5 key (without pressing the FN-button) anymore. The white LED of the Touch Pad doesn't work anymore. Another operating system (in my case: Scientific Linux) in Dual Boot doesn't recognize the Touch Pad anymore after a reboot, too. So it isn't working below the other operating system anymore, too. It looks like a hardware defect since it affects more than one operating system.
_*Additional information:*_
If you attach an external USB mouse to your Toshiba notebook, the Touch Pad will work again, you can activate/deactivate the Touch Pad via the F5 key (without pressing the FN-button) below Windows 8.1 again, but the white LED of the Touch Pad still doesn't work and doesn't turn off or on. Same below another operating system in Dual Boot. The BIOS doesn't offer a feature that you can activate or deactivate the Touch Pad there.
Reason:
I had the problem that the feature "automatic driver installation" below Windows 8.1 Professional was activated. The driver for the Synaptic Touch Pad got replaced by a Microsoft driver in the background automatically.
_*Solution:*_
_Keep the external USB mouse attached and start Windows 8.1 if it isn't started already. Then deactivate feature "automatic driver installation" below Windows 8.1. Then reinstall the Synaptic Touch Pad driver from the download page of Toshiba website again. Then reboot Windows. The Touch Pad should work then again. And never, never activate the feature "automatic driver installation" below Windows 8.1 again!_

CAPS LOCK + touch pad problem on Yoga 2

My Wife recently snarfed coffee onto the keyboard of her Yoga 2 (WindoWs 8.1), and ever since the caps lock aND MOUSE pad have been acting erratically. I've had to re-type this section several times because OF IT, aND i'M JUS GOING TO keep typing. SORRY IF i SOUND LIKE A SERiaL KILLER.
After Some experimentaTIon, it aPpearS THAT the caps lock comes ON AFter typing a, Q, s and sometimes d. Here is aN EXAMple of some aLPHAbets:

Any suggestions abOUT WHAT whent wrong or how to fix? Do i need a NEW KEYBOARD + TRAck paD?

Compaq Presario F767NR caps lock,scroll,touch pad blue light not working

Hi,
I have a Compaq Presario F767NR. It downgrade it to xp. All my drivers are ok. But caps lock,scroll,touch pad blue light not working though its function is ok.
I think led is ok. I find that for the scroll lock when i press fn+num lk then the blue light works fine.

I have the same problem and I think it started when I downloaded the SP2 for the Windows Vista. So probably it is not a problem of the laptop. I have an HP Pavilion dv9500 notebook PC.

touch pad is not working.
"ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device is unenabled " is said by "Lenovo Solution Center"
when open the device manager, Ultranav device can not be found in "Mouse"
the driver of the ThinkPad UltraNav is intalled well by "Lenovo Solution Center"
I can not use my touch pad even restart my PC.
BTW, sometimes the keyboard can not working suddenly.
in that case, when i restart my PC, the keyboard becomes woking.

As per the query we understood that you are facing an issue with Touchpad on your ThinkPad T440p.
Boot the system in safe mode and work for a while to confirm if it is working in safe mode.
Uninstall UltraNav application for Control panel – Program and feature option and restart the system and check if you’re able to see any adapter in Device Manager under Mouse adapter.

New I pad cover lock not working

I bought the new I pad with Targus leather cover. Till yesterday I didn't notice I pad cover lock feature.but my friend tried I pad cover lock option in settings.my I pad was able to lock without smart cover till today. Suddenly it's not working anymore.i have set the cover lock option in settings on.what happened? Is it necessary to have smart cover to use this feature?

Lol now it works.........actually the cover that I have is 360 degree rotating cover.that screen cover flap was supposed to be on left ,but I kept it on right.the I pad magnet was not lining up with the covers magnet. Breaking news: Targus versavu cover is compatible with the I pads cover lock feature.

I think I am having the same problem. I am using a macbook pro 15 and this morning it received an OSX update, it is now on 10.10.2. I use Office365 email for work and suddenly I can't use 2-finger scrolling over my inbox list. I can scroll through the email body and there is no problem with gmail inbox.
this is a real pain, when i attempt to scroll it attempts to scroll the whole web page, it doesn't seem to recognise that my mouse pointer is over the list of emails of my inbox.
i hope apple know about this and can fix it.

once in a while the touch pad locks/freezes. More often than not this is whilst using the notebook from battery power, rather than mains power. If I close the screen, and reopen, it's all OK.
Any ideas?

Hi Rick,
First, download the latest Synaptics driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50501-51000/sp50718.exe
Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has fully reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again.

Touch Pad on 6550b Just stopped working...

I have an HP Probook 6550b and the touch pad just all of a sudden stopped working. I've reinstalled the driver but still not working. It shows up in the device manager but not in the Synaptics list of devices. I've even done a system restore thinking maybe an update messed it up but still nothing. Anyone?

have a similar problem with 6550b. i can move the cursor and use the right-click button. however, left-click button and tapping on the touchpad don't work. same thing in BIOS and in windows (after reinstall)
it happened after a restart and at the same time windows crashed to the point no system restore worked. any comments from HP? as usual, my warranty ran out 3 months ago.

Touch Pad error

I just got an HP G62-347CL notebook and every once in awhile a picture with a finger comes up with a line through it and the light on the touch pad turns yellow and it stops working, I have been plugging in a mouse and that works but I mainly like to use the touch pad when using the computer. that is the touch pad lock. if you double tap where the little amber light is in the upper left hand corner it will turn the touch pad back on.... if you don't want the pad to be be able to turn off go into the synaptics pointer setting and turn off the disable touch pad feature.
