Touch Screen defective - NO Support!!

I have had an iphone for just over a year and this is my third one. Apple replaced the first two for a crack on the back case, advising it to be a flaw in the case. Now I have a touch screen issue, but I would not call it a dead spot like Apple states. Apple also said it was a hardware issue. The issue is that the screen work with some apps but not on the home screen or the keypad. When I stated having this issue I looked up and saw that this is more common then Apple let on. I was happy with the iphone till this happened and I was told to just buy a new iphone. I am extremely dissatisfied with the support and customer service Apple has displayed on what clearly is a defect. Toyota has taking care of their customers. I would like to here from others in my situation. I am sure that Apple will remove this post so I may be starting a new Facebook group for this topic.

If no change after restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, more than likely there is a hardware problem. With a hardware failure, it can be a partial or complete failure.
If this were a problem specifically with Apple software on the iPhone only, then the overwhelming majority of iPhone users or all iPhone users running the same firmware version would be experiencing the same, which is not the case.
Your iPhone has a hardware problem as already stated by Apple and you have been provided the options for getting it fixed - via a 3rd party repair service, or making use of Apple's out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price, which pays for an exchange for the same model at a discounted price. If this isn't acceptable, use the money to purchase another phone instead.

  • HP Oj 8500 A909g upper part of touch screen defective. Unable to access tools menu.

Upper portion of touch screen is not working. Can anyone suggest an alternative way to push wireless network configuration to this printer??  i.e. the *# menu with a number sequence.  I am setup and printing via USB, but solutions center cannot see printer wirelessly and since it's hard connected I can't find anywhere in that software to push the network config from the computer.  Computers previously connect to my old DSL network, it worked there btw, run both XP, Vista, and 7.  All printed to the 8500 flawlessly.  the printer functions normally.  It's functioning normally via USB, but computers are scattered all over the house.  We were forced to drop ATT DSL in favor of Uverse and of course, new network config.  Can any one suggest an alternate to the defective touch screen? I have done a factory partial reset via *#, 1,2,3.  I'm hoping that another number sequence will bring up network configuration menu.  Thanks for reading this anyway.  Fredad6l

It appears that you just need to get the printer on the new network as a result of provider equipment change, but not able to because the touchscreen button is not responding.
While I may not be able to help with the touchscreen, there is an alternative way to get this pritner on a network.
The alternate way will require a computer on the wireless network and a USB cable for this process.  I recommend having all printer software uninstalled before continuing as it will make things a little easier for this alternate method.
Once you have that (sounds like you already do), follow Installing the Printer Software on a Wireless or Wired (Ethernet) Network to get it on the network.  Specifically, look for the section labled Method 1.
With the printer uninstalled completely, these steps summarize what needs to happen:
    1. Start the install from CD or from a download.  Leave the USB cable disconnected for now.
    2.  During the installation, choose through network and not USB.  At this point, the software will recognize the printer is not on the network and prompt you to connect the USB cable (may come later after this step).
    3.  The computer will share the wifi connection information with the printer.
    4.  At some point, you will be prompted to disconnect the USB cable.
    5.  At the end, the printer should be on the wifi network.  At this point, uninstall and reinstall the printer on the other computers if they have not picked up the printer automatically.

  • Directory structure support and sluggish touch screen

I bought a Zen X Fi2. My expectations were high since I already had a creative some years ago. (I was quite pleased with the performance and sound quality etc)
However I am a bit dissapointed with Zen XFi2- The touch screen is not very successful. The scroll function does not work at a satisfactory level and sometimes (when I want to scroll), it makes a "selection" rather than "scrolling".
Also it does not support browsing with directory structure. For those people (like me) who are quite used to drag and drop type of copying for mp3 files, it is really a pain to re arrange all the songs for ID3 tag information.
I believe these two issues are software issues and can be improved by new firmware upgrade.
I also want to take this opportunity to tell that the software (interface software) that comes with the device is totally crap- I have never seen a software that tries to control the user rather than the user controlling the software. An ideal interface software for such a device should be the one which allows user to choose the songs from any directory, drag and drop into the device.
I was going to return my Zen however after playing around for a few days, I somewhat get used to its sluggish touch screen behaviour and accepted ID3 tag browsing (which still gives me a lot of problem) so right now I am gonna keep it.
May be software developpers can work on touch screen improvement, adding the support for directory structure browsing (as well as ID3 tag browser) and work on interface software a bit more ?
    Thanks
    Best Regards

This is indeed interesting because when you say "I don't have the problems you mentioned" I believe you also refer to the sensitivity of the touch screen. This makes me ask the question if my item has some problems. Since I do not have any means of cross checking this (apparently there is no other Zen XFi2 around me) may be I should ask you this question: "When you want to browse among albums for example, you wipe your finger across the screen so the screen rolls down; can you have it fluently like in an IPOD touch?- or does it not recognize immediately and you have to do it again sometimes?"
As for the volume button- I do indeed agree. For devices like this one; having physical buttons for at least volume, mute, stop/pause is a "must"! Choosing, browsing or starting a song is not a big deal however muting, stopping or changing the volume may be needed instantly from time to time. It is very unpractical to browse for volume, find it and adjust it!
Also may I add that for such a nice device, there should be a remote control on the headphone/earphone cable and should employ at least stop/play/mute/volume/forward/reverse buttons. I mean think about it for a while- why would you want to take use this device- apparently not to watch movies at home! You take it with you and listen to music, while cycling, jogging, skiing, roller blading etc. It is so difficult taking out the device from your pocket, browsing for volume button and turning up and down the volume (while cycling for example!) or skipping to next song with one touch!

  • Support for Multiple Multi-Touch Screens

    hello,
I have written some code that implements the multi-touch and it has been working fine with just one multi-touch screen.  However, someone using my program with 2 multi-touch screens hooked up is getting no input from the second device.  I did not
see anything documentation referring to more than one multi-touch device, although the existence of hSource in the TOUCHINPUT structure would imply multiple devices are supported.  After searching the forums, I found this post
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tabletandtouch/thread/9c11871d-945c-4f7b-bdaa-a1b1452959b8/
in which someone stated that 2 multi-touch monitors should work fine, but not with simultaneous input.  Since the post is almost 2 years old, I am wondering if anything has changed, and whether this might be the problem my user is having.  Or is
there some way to tell if it is a driver issue?  I am not using the gesture library, just retrieving data with GetTouchInputInfo.  I'll appreciate if anybody can point me to documentation or mention their experiences with multiple devices.
    thank you.

thank you for your quick reply.  I have gotten a few more details and the problem is not the scenario you suspected.  They are using 1 window spanning 2 multi-touch monitors.  The problem does seem to be related to simultaneous input.  If
they have a finger down on the first monitor, my program does not receive any events from the second monitor.  If they are not pressing down on the first monitor, the input from the second monitor comes through.
Does Windows 7 support simultaneous input from 2 or more multi-touch monitors?  Is there something I have to do so that my program will work correctly?  Or are there driver specific issues, and if so, where can I get help for that?
    thank you.

  • Support code 1600, touch screen not working

The 1600 support code popped up to tell me that two of my ink cartridges are low, but it won't let me do anything else. The touch screen seems to have stopped working. Also, is there any way I can change settings so that certain documents are printed in black and white only?

    Hello.
The 1600 error indicates that one or more of the ink tanks are empty.
Please replace the empty ink tank in order to resume operation.
Unfortunately, the empty color tank would have to be replaced even though you will be printing a black and white document.

  • Please do me provide with software which can support flipping and sreaming page on 27" iMac touch screen display

Please do me provide with software which can support flipping and sreaming page on 27" iMac touch screen display

    IakovM,
See below for a few links.
You should ask the people at Troll Touch if the have a software to create a user interface.
Usually, the maker will provide programmers with the programming codes and a interface guide line on how to program the different gestures.
I know that PQLabs as a SDK for their touch screens.
With the programming codes in hand, any good Flash or HTML 5 programmer can setup a web site that will take advantage of the touch screen.
One thing I can tell you is that with touch screens based web sites, when it comes to links or buttons to push, everything needs to be bigger than on a standard web site. People will be using their fingers to do the clicking.
A finger is a much bigger pointer than a mouse pointer!
So links or buttons that are too small or to close to screen edges will be hard to click.
You can look at these for possible solutions:

  • Touch screen support (no context menu)?

Happy to see this, but how are touch screen devices (that don't have a right-click) being supported? Even though people might not type that much on touch screen devices, they do make more mistakes *if* they have to type on them, so some easy typo correction is even more essential.

Thanks for your feedback.  I would like to clarify that currently the SpellUI feature is very limited, lots of improvement to be done. However, currently If you need to support touch screen or other advanced UI features, you can create your own UI components and utilize the SpellChecker class.

  • 6th generation nano screen black but able to touch screen from memory to get music to play..called customer support they said it's the backlight since touch screen can still be touched and music can be played..any thoughts?

second 6th generation nano..again with the same problem..screen is black will not turn on but am able to touch screen and get music/radio to play...able to touch around on screen from memory..nano is recognized in itunes and computer..but screen will not turn on..called customer support today..of course out of warranty but was told that it sounds like my backlight is burnt out and that's all i need fixed, told that it shouldn't be that expensive (live in myrtle beach SC) and that my screen is fine since i am able to touch around on it...any thoughts?
thanks to all for any advice or input..will try to take to local icitymac store in next couple of days
    jenn

Replacing the backlight usually requires replacing the entire front LCD/digitizer.  And yes, it sounds the backlight has burned out.
Keep in mind that if you go the Apple route, they won't actually repair the iPod, but instead will do an out of warranty exchange meaning your current Nano will be replaced with a refurbished model of the same capacity and generation.

  • Phone that supports location JSR, JSR179, and touch screen

    Hi All
Does anyone know which phones that have touch screens support the location jsr (JSR179) ?
    Regards
    Steve

If this case is blocking or partially blocking the iPhone's proximity sensor, sure you can use it but this problem will remain.
If so, you can try increasing the size of the case opening around the earpiece - the sensor is located above and there is also a light sensor beside it which combined are wider than the earpiece opening or purchase another case that is better designed for the iPhone in this regard.

  • Iphone 5 touch screen freezes, is my iPhone defective?

My iPhone 5 touch screen frequently freezes. If I leave it alone it will be OK in a couple of minutes.  Is this a common problem or do I have a defective iPhone?

I have a similar problem, but waiting does not solve it.  If I cycle the power button it will work again, but it keeps happening and it is really annoying.  I have had the phone since it came out, and only started haveing this problem in the last couple of days.  I have tried a reset -- makes no difference.

  • Any suggestions for Xilinx products to support audio input or touch screens?

    Hi,
My boss just told me that I will get some funding from our department for new equipment purchase. We want to spend the money on Xilinx FPGA and tool kit.
We already have a ML605 evaluation board in our lab. Currently, we just make it  communicate with PC with UART cable, but we want to have better demonstrations in the future.
    (1) We want to use a microphone to record speech signals during real time and send the audio signals to FPGA;
    (2) We want to have a touch screen for users to write on, and the handwritten images will be send to the FPGA;
    (3) Any suggestions for fancier demonstration? Video detection or robots?
    For (1), maybe it is possible to just use ML605. But I heard something called "FMC card". So any suggestions on such products;
For (2), what kind of boards or cards should we purchase?
Also important,  we can also buy a new evaluation board with Virtex-7, if such boards already support (1) and (2).
Any suggestions will be appreciated :-)

I would recommend you to please get in touch with Authorized distributors they will help you.

  • Will firefox work with a touch screen? Does it support multi-touch?

I can't scroll with my finger. It only highlights the words.

The answer you received is not correct. The answer is YES. MAC's do work with all touch screen monitors once you downliad the free drivers.
I have a Mac Mini and a Mac book pro both of which are connect to the same Acer Touch Screen Monitor.  I am using it as  write this to you.All you need to do is download the free drivers from www.touch-base.com. The basic touch drivers are free. I also purchase the mac gesture drivers for $109 USD and they work great. You can even activate the on screen keyboard in the mac accessibility settings which allows you to have a touch screen keyboard.
