Touch screen not working- another way to shut off phone?

I don't know what happened- but all of a sudden my iPhone is frozen. I can get to the screen to shut the power off- but since I can't "slide" to shut it down, it's just stuck. I'm hoping a reboot will solve the problem...
Is there any other way to shut it down (without using the screen)?
I guess my only other alternative is to wait for it to run out of battery?
I have the old iPhone if it matters.

If the tips in the article above do not resolve the issue the iPhone may need hardware repair. Make a reservation to have a Genius at a local Apple retail store take a look at it or call AppleCare.

I'm sorry to hear. If the touch does not work, it's not much that you can do on your own more than performing a software repair to exclude software related problems. This can be done via our program Update service:

Download and install SUS, follow the instructions that appear.
Note that the personal data will be lost when performing this repair and if you cannot access the menu, you are unable to back up this data.

LaserJet Pr0 200 color MFP M276nw Touch Screen not Working correctly

Hello, I'm having an issue with a LaserJet Pr0 200 color MFP M276nw Touch Screen not Working correctly. I have followed the instructions to reset the printer, but now am unable to select 'English' as my language because every time I select the 'English' option 'Spanish' is selected. I am then given two options to select 'Si' or 'No' both of which can not be selected on the touch screen?
Anybody know of a way round this?

I see that you are having issues with the touch screen not working correctly. I will do my best to help you.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Was it the Nvram reset back to factory settings that you tried or a hard reset?
Try selecting the option on the display a little higher above the icon to see if that helps. Some touch screens are finicky.
I find that on the Lab printers when I am selecting different menus.

Mine works partially. Control Panel>>Systems says I have no pen or touch screen. Touching the screen works just as if I were using the mouse. Instead of scrolling through the start menu, for example, scrolling with my fingers causes the tiles to relocate. Hi I had the same problem and found the best solution for the computer. Although hp always recomends that you have the newest updates to keep your computer running, one oh hp's newest touch screen drivers is not compatible with windows 10. So your best bet at getting your multi-touch compatibility working on your touch screen again is to use the previous driver. So these are the steps that helped me solve this issue. Step 1: Press the windows start button + the "x" keyStep 2: Select "Device Manager" from the list of optionsStep 3: Click the drop down menu for "Mice and other pointing devices"Step 4: If you have 2 drivers there then you have found the correct driver (If there is only one I will include instructions on how to find the correct driver for your computer)Step 5: Select your touch screen driver from within "Mice and other pointing devices" and double click on it to bring up the advanced optionsStep 6: Click on the "Driver" tab from within that newly opened windowStep 7: Click "Roll Back Driver"(That should have reset to the last touch screen driver your computer had. Lenovo A1 - Touch screen not working after digitizer replacement

After dropping my tablet and breaking the digitzer, I ordered a replacement digitzer from a company in China. (It took about a month to get it) After watching this video, I was able to install my new digitizer and it finally looked new again....well at least the screen!
But.....when I powered up my tablet, the touch screen wasn't working..... I emailed back and forth with the company and they told me to install drive program, and send me a link to a site with a video, this site may have contained more than the video, but it was all in Chinese and I couldn't figure it out even with Google Translate. So I started researching. I thought I would try and load ICS on it, I thought, "Whats the worst thing that could happen?" it wasn't much more than a brick at this point anyways.
I found this website that let me through installing ICS on it. I had absolutly no expectations...but IT WORKED!!!! MY TOUCH SCREEN IS NOW WORKING!!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!
When I was researching for this problem, there was absolutly no posts anywhere for "Touch screen not working after new digitizer". So I wanted to share my experience.

Yea you are correct.....it must be a hardware problem. You must contact service centre of Lenovo and get help from there.

8500 All in One - touch screen not working

One minute the touch screen with all it's functions was working fine and then, bam (!), the touch screen stopped working and I can't even use the one/off switch to power the unit off - it does not respond. Funny thing is that the printer is still working from my computer so I can still send a print job via the wireless. With the touch screen not working I can't use any function from the unit itself (copy a hard copy, fax a hard copy) and if the unit runs out of paper I have to unplug it to reboot since I can't hit the 'enter' on the touch screen once I've reloaded.
Bottom line --- nothing from the unit itself works. Has a printer fairy locked me out or does this sound like a hardware error? Thanks for any help ...

Excellent. Let me know how round 2 treats you. The sad demise could have been due to a couple of things...as a side question, is the climate where you live especially dry right now? I may request that our testers recheck how well we handle a static shock on the product if it is dry where you live.

Sony Vaio Pro 13.3 Touch: Touch screen not working

Hi, The touch screen for my Sony Vaio Pro 13 Touch suddenly stopped working two days ago and I have no idea how to fix it. I didn't install anything new before it stopped working, and I tried to install all the new drivers on the VAIO update but it still didn't work. I thought it might be because of Windows so I updated to Windows 8.1 today and it still does not work. On the PC info it even says" Pen abd touch: No pen or touch input is available for this display". but this laptop is supposed to have touch capability and it has been working up until now. Please help! My model number is SVP13215CDB. Do I need to install or update my driver?

Was there any changes prior to touch screen not working? Like installing software or hardware? If not, then try using windows system restore to restore back to a date that you know when it was working. If that still does not resolve issue. Then we may have to put the unit back to factory condition to eliminate software related before servicing the unit for hardware.

Touch screen not working after update

Hi, I am using Sony laptop which have the model name: SVF14N11CXB. Till yesterday it was working fine, when I shut it down it did its mandatory update. However, today when I start it up its touch stopped working, Although this laptop is touch supported and till now the touch screen was working perfectly but today when I searched in the computer properties it is showing that this laptop is not pen or touch supported. I restored my laptop to factory default but still it is not working and making me go crazy. Please help me in this regard.

We regret to hear that the touch screen feature is not working anymore. You're right this laptop has a touchscreen function. Click here for more information. You mentioned that you reformat the computer back to factory default, if done properly the computer should be back up and running the way it was when you first got it (including the touch feature). Kindly visit this website and reformat again the computer back to default setting. Please follow thr instructions there carefully.

I recently baught a hp touchsmart 320-1010a running windows 7 home premium and then installed a new version of windows (windows 7 ultimate 64 bit) and now the touch screen doesnt work and i have non of the hp touchsmart applications like, hp magic canvas and others. i installed all the drivers from the hp webbsite and it still doesnt work
can somebody please help??? im dying here !

Sorry about your wipe out. Are you ready to try it again? This time we will do it the right way. We first have to get you back to orginal factory ok. Lets first see if can use the recovery manger. Type in your all program search box Recover Manager.Open it and click factory restore. If it is still there. If not then you will need to use your recovery disk. If you did not make a copy then you will need to purchase them from HP's parts store. Direction on how to order them are on your computers update page. Ounce you have your computer restored to factory condition. We can now upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.
This time we are going to use just the product key number. Goto all programs search box again and type in Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. Open it and inter the product key that you purchased already. This time do not remove programs or delete any thing. Let it upgrade on it's own. This time everthing that is on your computer already will not be touched. The upgrade will only install what upgrades are needed with out disturbing HP's software. Ounce the initial upgrade is completed then go on line and download Windows 7 Ultimate add on's. IPod touch gen 2 touch screen not working

My iPod was missing for 10 days, in the back of a couch. I recharged it, used for ~ 1 hour. Then the screen would not respond to touch. I could turn it on, but the screen doesn't function. Any suggestions?

it now should say slide to power off. now let the battary power go down(dont charge it what so ever). after all the battary is drained it will go into recovery mode(you can tell becuz it shows a black screen and an apple logo in the middle). now charge the device. it should now turn on and the touch screen should work. i know becuz this happened to me twice and i fixed it the same way each time

Dual HP touch screens not working with t620

HI, I have two L2206tm touchscreens on a t620 thin client running ThinPro 5.1.0. When connecting two monitors, the touch screens function erraticly or not at all. If you only connect one touch screen, it works okay (either monitor, so it's not a problem with the monitors). Some notes:The touch screen applet that's included with ThinPro has a calibrate button is shadowed out. The touchscreens are recognized in the USB as 1 device in the ThinPro USB mgr. (TPV - OpticalTouchScreen)Both touchscreen work when the settings for monitor 1 and 2 are setup as "Same As Primary" (meaning that the displays are mirrored. As soon as you set one of the monitors to be Entended (right or left), the touchscreens stop working.Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Chris

Try the following.
First, ensure the Touchpad is switched on ( the light between the Touchpad and the Spacebar should be white ), then download the latest Synaptics driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, shut down the notebook, remove any external devices connected to the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
When windows has fully reloaded - it will automatically load a generic driver for the Touchpad, but just let it do this. Then open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook.

Droid Eris touch screen not working

I have the droid eris. I got it off a friend and its been working just fine and all of a sudden the touch screen stopped working. i tried taking the battery out and putting it back in and it still doesnt work. i cant slide and unlock nor are any other touch buttons working. any solutions?

Without a touchscreen, you don't have a phone! We need to get your phone fixed quickly! There is an alternate master reset that you can perform without a working touchscreen. I will include a link with the steps. If the reset does not fix the issue, then it's hardware related and you will need to activate another device. Let's hope the reset fixes it!
