Touch Screen Pen Tool Signature on Form (back to hand tool)

Built a simple form, name, address and a couple of other text input form fields, all is well.
Added a graphic area for a signature. There is a button to click with "execute menu item" "...Markup tools > Pencil Tool"
This turns the Hand into the crosshairs so the user can "write" their signature in the box with a stylus on the touch screen.
Still all good, but I then have, or want an "undo" button in case they mess up. Menu Item "Undo" is not available,
and I have yet to find the Javascript call for undo as in __app.execMenuItem("Save");__. But the real
problem is I cannot find an interactive/button driven way to get the Pen tool back to the hand tool. Also there is a Save As and Print button
at the bottom that works great, given it is clicked with the hand tool. The end users are not going to be very saavy so clicking the hand tool
in the menu isnt much of an option. Any ideas?

No, and I even tried pressing the spacebar key to see if it was stuck.

  • Flex - touch screen Pen/Stylus?

    Hello,
we are interested for a touch screen laptop, but this is more for my wife who is a teacher.
She likes the way our Samsung Note handles the S-pen and she would want to use a simialr pen with the laptop at classes.
Is there such a facility for pens with sharp edges to be used with a Flex for example?
Or we should jsut get those black, rubber, thick capacitive pens?
    thanks

Here is a pen great for writing: http://www.adonit.net/jot/pro/
Just search for 'best capacitive stylus' on Google. Pick the one you like most
Are you interested in the ThinkPad 10 perhaps? It has a digitizer pen, it will also disable touch input while the pen is being used. Which is quite useful. It is a small step up to 700 EUR. Also get the keyboard dock.

I can say with 100% certainty your wife will love it. I got its more expensive brother the ThinkPad Helix. If a student can love it, so can the teacher right ;-) ?
The ThinkPad 10 has many flexible options she might be interested in. You won't find anything better for that price.

If the touch screen physically doesn't work, it's too late to back it up. You should have been syncing your contacts with something... a cloud service or contact manager on a PC. If you were not, then I'm afraid you're going to lose them.

  • Touch screen & Forms10g

    Hello all,
i am looking for some help here on how to use a touch screen to run one specific form. we have one employee survey form developped in 10g, now we are asked to put the form in the touch screen monitor environment . so my questions is will oracle forms work with the touch screen (will the when-button-trigger fire automatically when pushing the button thru the touch screen) ?, is anybody implemeted the touch screen feature with the forms application?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I tried this like 4 years ago with a lenovo tablet that was multitouch and my recollection is that one would really have to be able
to customize things more than I have a feeling it is going to be feasible to do. I think you should look at this from the perspective: "we'll test forms for this and if it is not going to be up to the task we are either going to change the idea of supporting touchpads or we going to use a different type of application to do this". Touchscreen as I recall generated mouse events. How there could be a problem is that the pointing device,
a stylus and/or an actual finger is bigger than a mouse pointer and not as precisely moved and "clicked". So basically some things would have to be way bigger for touchscreen. e.g. checkboxes and radio buttons and other buttons. I never got any useful advice about how to deal with
this back in 2007 when I brought this up. You are definitely not going to be able to do this without one or more touchscreens of the
sizes and types the users would be using.
Nowadays I think things are even more complicated as you have to know what platforms the users are expecting to run this on.
There is no forms for android or ipad, right?

  • Touch screen writing in pages.

I would like to ask the question, is there a way to use the touch screen facilities in I pad, I phone to hand write onto a pages document?
If not, who do I suggest it to to get it on the next update?
I would love people to be able to sign documents that I write there and then so it is all done, takes to long to print off, send out and wait for them to come back signed!
    Thank you in advance!!

As far as I can tell, pages does not support handwriting input, nor do any of the other common we editors such as docs 2 go or quick office.  There are, however several apps that support handwritten notes and mark ups of PDF documents.  If the docs you are referring to are pdf's or can be converted to PDF you could use one of those.
There are several,  read the reviews in the store to find one that works for you.
As respects the suggestion, feel free to tell apple.

  • Touch screen malfunctions

I have a Palm Tungsten E2 and the touch screen pen doesn't respond where I actually place the pen point. I've tried the sync program that is on the device but it doesn't work after doing that.
    does anyone have suggestions?
    Thank you
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

If you can get a response from the screen when you tap it, try and re-calibrate the touchscreen. Go to prefs on your device and use the touchscreen app to re-calibrate.
You can try this process to see if there is any debris that is stuck under the screen edge.
Take a business card or folded piece of paper. Stick it in the gap between the edge of the screen and the case. Move around the perimeter of the screen and see if you can get out any debris.
If that doesn't work, the digitizer on the device is probably defective and needs replaced.
You can contact Palm for repair or find replacement parts at pdaparts.com or usedpdaparts.com
For reference purposes, click on the following link for the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com webpage.

  • Encore WT8 touch screen won't work, prevents me from logging in

I have just bought this tablet but it is a Dabs refurbished model, so not sure of its history. I went through the setup process and brought it on holiday. I discovered that once it was setup, every time it went into sleep mode or was powered off, the touch screen became unresponsive after it powered back up. I don't have an OTG cable, or a keyboard/mouse for that matter. In a small town where it won't be possible to buy one. May just have to wait until I get back and can use a cable and keyboard to log in. Not sure what the pattern is but from time to time, it has reacted to touch and allowed me to log in. When it did, I performed all windows updates, including drivers that were suggested. I have an old XP laptop which I am using now and once when I plugged it in via USB, it got the screen working for long enough to let me log in but that won't work now.  I tried to log in from my Lumia using RDP but it says it can't. May just be the version of 8.1 that's on the tablet.  I can get into the BIOS menu and the touch screen works in there. It is at V2.00 and the tablet is a PDW0AE-00900PEN Any other suggestions or should I give up and enjoy my holiday?

The screen rotates as normal. I tried resetting the device but it doesn't work. In the device manager, it shows that the I2C HID device has a problem. It fails to start. This doesn't change after a reset. I dug a little deeper and the driver is hidi2c.sys. There doesn't seem to be a newer version of the driver. I did some reading and found people commenting that Toshiba aren't very good at fixing this sort of driver issue. it also may be that a windows update has caused a conflict which may be fixed by Microsoft. Either way, I can't see any way for me to fix this besides resetting my tablet to factory and preventing windows updates. I may do that once I am somewhere with more resources around me.

  • Touch Screen Feature on my HP Laptop

    HELP PLEASE!
After updating my windows to windows 8 my touch screen features do not work and the system says that my monitor is not compatible for touch screen/pen settings!
I paid good money for this computer and need this company to help me!!!!!!!!
I've tried calling customer service, we were on the phone for a good 2 hours and they weren't able to fix it. I AM NOT WILLING TO SEND IN MY COMPUTER because I need my computer on a daily basis and ... TRUST NO BODY!

I am not sure. The answer was found for me by a HP support person after he had tried a couple of other things. I had noted that in the Control Panel - system description it stated that 'touch' was unavailable with the screen. He first asked me to delete each of the appropriate drivers (human interface) and reboot - to reload the drivers. That did not work. Then a colleague of his suggested the double lead. Any 2 (out of 3) may work.

  • Touch screen thinks it's a pen

I have a Sony Vaio Duo SVD11225CXB running Windows 8.1. The original problem was that it had the "pen" single click pointer and kept getting stuck in various corners of the screen. (At the time, I did not know that the pointer showing a tiny star surrounded by a white circle was a pen pointer.) I then uninstalled the USB device driver for the touchscreen to disable it and could not find the driver again. That issue was resolved in my previous post. Now, I am running into a new problem. When I click on the screen, it ends up highlighting the area I am clicking, but doesn't result in an actual click. So clicking the start menu, the x in the corner doesn't do anything. Just so everyone is clear, this is the icon I see is this singe-tap pointer: http://i.msdn.microsoft.com/dynimg/IC106593.jpg. I would like to know how to disable pen completely. This computer does not have a pen, so it doesn't make sense. However, if there is a better solution, I am all ears.* Thanks. *There may not be a way to disable pen exclusively as it's rare to find a computer that has both, so please do not let my request above pigoeon hole you into trying to find a way to disable pen input.

    Hi herschen,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
Kindly try to look for any Pen/Digitizer driver from Device Manager. Look under Human Interface Devices. If you see pen driver, right click and select Properties -> Driver -> Disable.
You may also try to reinstall Touch Screen Driver. Under Human Interface Devices, right click the driver for touch screen and select Uninstall (DO NOT DELETE). Restart the laptop.
Update or download drivers from eSupport website, especially Touch Panel Calibration Tool.
    Hope these help.
    Thanks,
    Vincent

  • Capture a physical signature from a touch screen?

Is there a way to capture a physical signature from a touch screen PC, tablet, or phone and imbed that directly into an Acrobat fillable form without utilizing other devices or programs?
    Thank you!

    Hi Chandrika,
Please provide the details of the BADI you are using. In general you have to go to the methods in BADI and see which are all the fields associated with that method. In your case you have to search the field which captures the value entered by the user.
You can also check this  by putting break point in GET_INSTANCE method of CL_EXITHANDLER class (Through SE24) and check in which field value entered by the user being captured and also you can find out the BADI involved.
Then you can go to SE19 and in the BADI you can find the relevant method.
Then you need to code in the relevant method and use the field which is capturing the value whereever you need.

How do I turn off the alt scroll zoom?
When I'm in Adobe photoshop and illustrator using the pen tool, alt is utilized for another short cut.  I would like to use the alt command for the pen tool instead of zooming into the screen.

I tend to select things from left to right and every time I am moving in a downward right diagonal motion during lasso selection I am missing a clear view and I am tending to have a more sloppy selection.  All this does is slow me down since I need to go back and hit those areas again.  The big arrowhead just get's in the way.  The original lasso tool with the thin line and small active point at it's lower left was far better for me.
I don't like turning the cursors to precise because I like to see the active tool icon where my cursor is and as the icon changes as I hold modifier keys down.  If I am forced to get comfortable with using pricise cursors I guess I will, but man, I've never had to do this in my 15 years of photoshop use...
I would absolutely LOVE to find a way to get the old lasso icon -- without the arrowhead above it.
Is there any chance this option could be inlcuded in cursor preferences?  I'd give much thanks, Adobe.

  • What tool or driver handles touch screen facility of Satellite U920T

    Hi
From the list of drivers available for the Satellite U920T notebook, which one handles the pen and touch screen facility?
    Cheers
    Alfred

An essential Toshiba software/tool which needs to be installed for Win 8 and Windows 8.1 is Toshiba System Driver.
But Win 8 and Win 8.1 provides own drivers to control the 10 finger capacitive touch screen.

  • Touch screen and pen/stylus stop working - Helix

Note taking with my new Helix is unbelievably frustrating! It's Windows 8 Pro -- fully updated (Windows and Lenovo drivers and apps). I am using Microsoft OneNote 2013. The problem is regular locking up or freezing of one or the other of the touch screen or the pen / stylus. Sometimes the pen still works, but fingers on the touch screen have no effect. Other times the the touch screen works, but not the pen. I'm not 100% certain that it's limited just to OneNote, but that's where it's guaranteed to happen. I can "fix" the problem most of the time by putting the Helix into sleep mode and then waking. Other times I have to shut down and restart. During a two hour session this will happen a dozen times at least. This makes it nearly unusable. Rob

Just got this Helix for a test-drive and I'm already having problems with the stylus/touch.  I can't quite tell why, but after working with computer as a tablet for a while, the touch turns off.  Then, if I pull the stylus out of the pocket 1/2 inch or so, the touch turns back on, then about 30 seconds later it goes off.  Then, if you pop the stylus back into the slot all the way, the touch screen is fine again for several minutes.  Over and over, i'm finding the interplay between touch and stylus to be a bit quirky.  Maybe it's the machine i got or maybe it's a general problem. I have had the exact problem with the touchscreen not working without fiddling with the pen in the socket (put it in, take it out, touch it etc). Do you have the task bar on the left hand side? I've had diffiuclties with the digitizer, can't use the bottom or right of the screen for example.  I'm wondering if still detects that the pen is near it. If I see the problem again I'll be trying the task bar on the right side.  If that doesn't help I have to assume a broken switch in the pen holder / bad digitzer.   Neither of which is good on a 2500 chf machine, especially one with what seems to be a warped tablet or base (still have to measure that).

  • How to activate a pen tablet on photoshop on a All-in-one computer [touch screen]?

I have a all in one computer touch screen- and I can use a pen tablet right on the screen, it's active- but when I go on PSCS6 and try to use the pen tablet, it is not active onto the screen- where do you go to activate it?? Can you?

That is the question I asked you.  I think you will find that your display only functions as a touch device.   My old Wacom Intuos 3 Tablet was just a tablet device.  My new Intuos 5 Touch is both a Tablet and touch device. When the pen is in close proximity with the tablet surface touch is turned of and it functions as a tablet.  The Wacom device driver has some Touch functions the can be configured to work with Photoshop.  I could configure touch so I could finger paint in Photoshop. Photoshop does not have its own touch support and touch settings.   If you can find a device driver for your displays touch feature that use wintab api. to support a pen interface you may have a chance,
