Touch screen problems while recharging.

I bought yesterday a 2nd hand iPhone 3G, today I noticed that when the phone is recharging the touch doesn't work good, its still usable but its kinda choppy and not accurate at all.
When i plug the phone out, stop recharging, the touch goes back to normal..
Since i got the phone at a good price and this problem isnt such a big deal for me I wont return it.
Any ideas what the problem might be? any ways to fix it? even by myself..

That didn't help...
I was thinking it might be hardware thing, or maybe my screen is too sensitive for dirt for some reason, I know dirt can effect the touch response.
Actually dirt doesn't make sense, cuz everything's fine while not recharging.
When I got this phone I did a full restore, also, the phone had invisible shield on it and I think (not sure) that this problem didn't occur with the shield on.
I removed it cuz I'm getting new ones soon.

  • TOUCH SCREEN PROBLEMS IN IPHONE

WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE IS EXPERIENCING TOUCH SCREEN PROBLEMS WITH THE UPPER HALF PORTION OF THE IPHONE. IN THE PHONE MODE THE 1, 2 & 3 NUMBERS DO NOT RESPOND TO MY TOUCH. IN THE HOME SCREENS, NOTHING IN THE FIRST ROW OF ICONS RESPONDS TO MY TOUCH.
I HAVE ALREADY RESET, RESTORED AND LOADED THE UPDATED SOFTWARE.
    VERY FRUSTRATING. HELP.

When restoring my phone didn't work, I backed up my data and made an appointment at the Apple Store. I went prepared to argue my case as my phone was over a year old (I got it the first day it was out) and didn't do any thing to damage the phone. It just developed this dead spot. I was honest about how long I had the phone and expressed that this was a common problem that is all over the internet and from what I could tell, I wasn't the only one in there for this problem. I was tipped off by a question he asked, "What row went dead?" He obviously had seen this enough times to know that different rows in the home screed went bad. I told him the second row. The conversation went on and somewhere there was some back room talks and they replaced my phone, which was very nice, but I'm betting this doesn't happen all the time. I think I got lucky. Over all I give Apple a 10 out of 10 for Customer Support. I doubt I would be so generous if I had to buy a new phone. I was told at first that it was going to cost me $249.00 to repair the phone, maybe he said $199. At any rate, I would have bought a new G3 instead of getting this one repaired. I tried to get the Apple Care on the replacement phone but they wouldn't allow that. So I have a 90 day warranty right now. I highly recommend that you get Apple Care on the iPhone. I'll be getting it on my next one. I don't know if this phone is new or a refurbished phone. It looks new, but I'm guessing it's refurbished. All in all I'm hoping that Apple realizes this is a problem with the screen and it's a problem that they need to fix or continue to fix when they go bad for no good reason. Well that's been my experience hope yours turns out as well.

  • 5800 touch screen problem

I have this phone from six months.
It is having touch screen problems since a few days.
like for eg. When I tap the message icon it opens gallery,The touch seems to be on right side wherever I tap or touch. The phone then when it gets restarted works fine.
Touch screen calibration does not seem to work and I have the latest firmware update too.
    Please help.
    Thanks

Had my 5800 for a few months now, and had no issues until 2 days ago.  Suddenly, the touch screen stopped responding properly and was selecting the wrong icons.  It was impossible to write a text message!  The weird thing was that it wasn't selecting the next character/ icon to the left, it was completely random!!  Tried turning off and on and removing battery, but that didn't work!  Calibrating the screen also didn't work.
About 3 hours later I felt it vibrate in my pocket, so took it out and couldn't figure out why (no call/ text/ keypad still locked etc) but the touch screen was back to normal as if nothing was ever wrong!
So, happy it was just a minor 'blip', I carried on using the phone (with no problems) until tonight... Exactly the same has happened!  Guess it'll be going back to Nokia for repair tomorrow!

  • IPhone 5 touch screen problem?

Here's the thing... I've saw several forums and YouTube videos about the iPhone5 touch screen problem. I have the same problem too. But it seems that this happens when it's near a running laptop or a computer. Can anyone explain why this happens or is it just my phone? If this is just my phone problem, what should I do?

i restored as a new. I am facing following problems :
    1. if iphone is locked then it won't get unlocked. I need to swipe/restart many times to unlock it. or need to use siri to unlock it.
    2. after unlocking iphone, it will work normally for few mins then there is some abnormal behaviour in its working.
for e.g some applications will open without actually opening it. some applications will close automatically.
    3. sometimes suddenly in the middle of work, iphone touch will stop responding.
There is no specific case for above problems. I m facing these issues in the middle of any applications at any moment of time.

  • N97 Touch Screen Problems

My N97 has intermittent touch screen problems where it will either respond in the wrong location, lag, or just be completely non-responsive. I'm pretty sure that it's not hardware as after completely rebuilding (remove all apps, format the mass memory, hard reset, re-install v2 fw, hard-reset, re-install apps, re-load mass memory) the phone and the touch screen work with no problems for several days, then after 3-4 days the problem reappears.
I suspect it's related to two problems with the phone: the first is that there is still a bug with the lock/unlock slider; the second is that the phone is too underpowered (CPU & RAM) to multi-task (especially email retrieval) and process the input of the touch screen.
Is anybody else having similar problems with their N97 touch screen, if so do you have a solution?

    iPhone 4 (Coming Soon) - Lemon N97 - SE - Nokia 8210 - Nokia 7710 - Nokia 5100

    @froschy:
My observations are 100% consistent with yours. The packet data end does solve the problem, but only if the screen is not 100% non-responsive. I can also confirm that the WiFi status has absolutely no effect on the problem.
There are also quite a bit of other possible causes that can be ruled out from the get-go:
    1. Insufficient RAM or CPU in general activity. I can rule this out as the phone works well even if I have 12 applications open at the same time. However, the issues happen sometimes even if nothing is running in the background. If this issue is related to memory leaks or similar bugs, it has nothing to do with the ones I normally run and has to be something in the background (like contacts, phone or messaging, clock, maybe others?) that is cuasing this.
Also, even when the screen is not responding correctly, I can still do stuff on the phone without lag. This is really weird but very true. I can do pretty much anything as long as I use the slide-keyboard instead of the touchscreen.
    2. The 3G network is not to blame. I live in Romania and I use Vodafone, which has 3.5G (3G+, HSDPA or whatever you want to call it) and is a very well established technology for these guys (they use it since 2005 I believe and have great coverage for it). The fact that you and me both have the same issues pretty much points to no influence on the provider or network type, IMO.
    3. The screen is not faulty. I hope. All pointers rule this out, but really, you never know in the end :-D
    4. The firmware version seems to be irrelevant up to this point. I have been having this problem since v11 and now I'm running v20. If this will be fixed in the future, I have no idea. However, if it gets fixed, we will know.
    =========
At this point I can also identify some key points about the phone usage which are common to both you and myself:
    1. We use the GPRS / 3G connection on a regular basis.
    2. We use the mobile email client to check email on a regular basis. For my part, I use MailForExchange and keep it in sync pretty much all day long. Though, at work, I use WiFi instead of GSM connection.
Maybe these two points are of importance. On the other hand, maybe there is something else that may be common to both our phones. I have an N97 RM-505, FW version  20.0.019.C01.01 (firmware is not really relevant anyway).
    Cheers,
    C.

  • A2109 charging and touch screen problem

When charging either via the stock AC wall adapter or via the stock USB cable to a computer the touch screen is totally unusable. I've read about grounding issues with chargers and various other android phones and tablets, but usually it doesn't happen for other people with the stock cables! Does anyone else experience this or know of a way to fix the issue? Its very annoying when you can't use it while charging...

Darkmuck, have you solved this issue? I am a recent user of this device and am experiencing similar problems.

  • Droid 2 touch screen problems

I have the droid 2 and the touch screen has been freaking out all day. Sometimes it just freezes, but most of the time it takes control and just randomly opens things, texts, and call people. It has changed some of the settings from this. I have cleared the data for it and it continues to do it. When it is not freaking out, the screen is just really slow. Is there any other way to fix this?

Then you need to run your Droid 2 in safe Mode especially if you put the apps back you had before you did the The F.R. they could be causing the Issues. Give this a Try..
    Safe Mode - Motorola DROID 2 (A955)
Safe Mode temporarily disables all applications that have been installed via the Android Market. Performing this troubleshooting step is necessary to determine whether a 3rd party application is the cause of an Operating System / Application issue. Safe Mode should always be performed prior to a hard (factory) reset.
    Enable Safe Mode
    Disable Safe Mode
    Enable Safe Mode
Press and hold the Power button.
    Select Power off.
    Slide the keyboard open.
    Press the Power button.
Press and hold the OK key.
Continue to hold the OK key until Safe mode appears in the lower-left of the unlock screen.
This may take up to 30 seconds.
While in Safe Mode, remove the most recently installed applications.
Power cycle the device then attempt to use the device.
If the device works properly, install applications one at a time to identify the application causing the problem.
    Top
    Disable Safe Mode
Press and hold the Power button.
    Select Power off.

  • What else touch screen problems

    Ok,
brought a z22 2-3 years ago, used rarely.  Recharged, worked a few days, now touch screen nonresponsive.  From what I've found via google, this seem to be a VERY common problem with Palm devices.  Most sites suggest that after two years you just need to buy a new device.  Great for palm but......  Z22 is low end, but all I needed.  Toss it and buy an HP, or does anyone have suggestion?
Already tried paper under edge, charging, etc.
    Thanks much.

This is some what interesting, watching me talk to myself Tried tape pull up technique.  Working so far.  Better sign off before I put everyone to sleep.  Thanks to you previous posters who provided (at least for now) a solution.

  • Major iPhone 4s touch screen problems.  The screen randomly "quivers" and performs random commands.

The touch screen on my iPhone 4s started flipping out yesterday.  When typing in iMessage, it will randomly pause, add strings of letters, go back to list view.  In Safari, touching the screen causes the the page to jump around or go "back". Same in apps.  Help!
    Sent from my iPad

I also made an appointment at the Genius Bar and took my phone in Sunday.   The phone didn't exhibit any of the problems described above while I was there but honestly, I'm not sure the guy even checked.  We sat down, I described the problem, he went to the back and got me a new phone.  According to him, it had a bad touch sensor.   We backed my old phone up to iCloud one more time, got the new phone running and restored to my back up, deleted everything off of my old phone, and I was out the door in no time with a new phone, and all of my data.
All tech products will have their share of issues, that's just the way it is.   But my experience in the store last Sunday is the reason I won't even consider buying a phone or computer from any company other than Apple.

  • Hp officejet pro 8500a - Touch screen problem (bottom right-left side)

    hi,
I have a problem with my printer since i changed the black cartridge. At the screen, it display a message with OK at the right/left side but  when I touch the bottom right/left side of the printier touch screen, there is no reaction, can someone tell me what to do. Although, l can print from my computer but i can't make copies from the touch screen.
    Bonjour,

    Hello DanTR,
I see that you are having an issue with the touchscreen on the printer.
When this issue happens it is typically a power related issue. Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I would also suggest that we run the HP Officejet Pro Firmware update.
Please feel free to write back if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • Flex 15 touch screen problem

    Can anybody help.
Just recently apppeared a problem with touch screen - stoped working.
After some awakes from sleep mode - it works unproperly. Restart helping not to awake at all.
    System 8.1, 64bit, all drivers up-tp-date.
    Any suggestions?

It might be related to the sleep settings for USB. I don't have my Flex 15 on me currently, however, if you can find the touch panel as a USB device in Device Manager, ensure it and the parent hubs are not on power saving modes as per the below post:

  • Touch screen problem

so i just recently bought the ipod touch and as i load it, the first few seconds everything is fine however after that the touch screen completely becomes unresponsive. the home button and sleep/wake button still works but it doesnt help much not being able to press anything on the screen. I have tried all of the troubleshooting hints provided by the support area (reseting everything) and it still has the same problem...so is my only option to return it for another or have anyone had this problem and have been able to solve it?

I was a bit unclear after reading your post so I apologize if you've already tried this. I'd recommend restoring your iPod via iTunes. Do not restore from backup. This will eliminate corrupted/damaged files as the issue.
If you're still having the issue after the restore, you'd want to have Apple assess the hardware. You can set up a Mac Genius appointment at your local Apple store here (http://apple.com/retail) or you can call AppleCare.

  • Touch screen unresponsive while charging

The touch screen on my iPod touch 5 can be sluggish or unresponsive. I've isolated the problem to when I've got it plugged in to charge and the charge is complete but I've not unplugged it. I'm using apple charge cord. Has anyone else had this problem? Obviously when the problem occurs now, I unplugged the iPod. Just wondering if it points to some larger problem I need to have Apple look into.

Other users have reported the same problem and I made the following suggestions but they nevery posted back:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
