Touch selections have box around them

iPod Touch, 4G. Screen is extremely slow to repsond. When I select an app, a box is shown around the app. I must tap many times before anything happens. Can't scroll screens. When I go to settings, can't scroll down to select choices.
I did do a factory restore - no help.

I am getting a dark line around psd images (they have clipping paths) which I place into illustrator. Everything looks fine in illustrator, but when I save the AI file with pdf compatibility and open it in photoshop, there is a dark line around the images. My solution was to save the bubble as a tiff file (there is an option to save with transparency), and then place the new file into AI. It seems to work soo-far. After I placed the attachments into this forum, I realized that they are too small to see the black lines around the bubbles.)

Placed .tiff files in illustrator have box around them.

I am wondering how to properly place .tiff files in illustrator, so that they can easily be set up for commercial printing. I have created a simple sell sheet for a product that has 3 placed tiff images in it. The images are circular and appear fine on screen. However, when printed, the images have a slightly darker box around them. The images were created in photoshop, and i'm wondering if i needed to use a clipping mask or perhaps another format for the images to maintain the transparency. Should i rasterize the images, embed, or keep linked? Any help would be great!

Programmatically generated hyperlinks in PDF now have boxes around them (v. 10.1.4)

I wonder if anyone has encountered this problem which only appeared in version 10.1.4 of both the Reader and Acrobat and if so, have you found a solution/workaround?
Hyperlinks that are generated programmatically now have visible borders around them which can't be turned off. Our company uses a specialist programme to generate PDF publications from XML. Since Adobe has released the new 10.1.4 update, all the hyperlinks originally created in XML and converted to PDF are encapsulated in a box. This does not apply to manual links. My (personal) solution was to downgrade the Reader to 10.1.3 and Acrobat to 10.0.0 (because that was when the back button last worked properly and I use that all the time), but we cannot advise our customers to do the same - downgrading is not exactly a breeze. I view this as a bug or oversignt on Adobe's part and I really hope the next update will address this issue. If anyone has found a solution, please share it. Thank you.

OK, I’ve attached two pages extracted from one of our publications. If you open the file in Reader 10.1.4 you will see a mixture of links with borders and without borders – the ones without were done by hand and you can actually go into properties and change them. The other ones don’t let you access the properties because they are created by our system (called CLS). The links with visible borders still work, so it’s only a question of aesthetics. Only one link (3.4) in the attached PDF will work because it’s taking you to a place inside this very same document; the others were disabled during extraction.
I can provide a bigger file, if you think it’s any help.

Slideshow captions appear to have boxes around them when viewed on mobile devices

Hi... I searched for this problem but couldn't find a reference - appologies if I didn't quite use the right search terms and it's already been answered.
I am having problems with a basic slideshow widget - when viewed on a PC (iMac in this instance) the image captions, counter and navigation buttons do NOT have any visible borders (I haven't stroked or filled the container boxes, other than the nav buttons). However, view the same slideshow on an iPad, or iPhone and there appears to be boxes around the caption, counter and nav buttons. I would prefer there to be no visible box outlines.

There are two slide shows on the page as I tried two different widgets - both have the same problem.
The odd thing is, I used the same method on the Home Page slideshow at the top of the page and this is working fine.
If anyone can shed any light on this 'problem' I'd very much appreciate it - I have tried everything I know at this stage.

Addendum...
If I change the slideshow transitions from 'horizontal' to 'fade' the problem goes away. But I would prefer the slideshow to slide.
Just thought this extra info may help diagnose the problem.

I tried to check the link in PC and phone both , i don't see boxes around the caption or counters.
Its the same view in desktop and phone.

Suddenly some of the characters in mail have turned into 'A's with boxes around them?

I don't think I changed any settings, but suddenly some of the characters in my emails received have utrned into 'A's with boxes around them. A think the characters that have changed are in italics (see pic below).
Any suggestions what has gone wrong here and how I can fix it?

Back up all data.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and the support article linked below for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them, then boot in safe mode* (by holding down the shift key at the startup chime) to rebuild the font caches. Boot again as usual and test.

That's a great feature request. I'd like the ability to turn off the blue boxes over hyperlinks as well.

Could you please update me with few details like what version of Acrobat are you using?
What OS do you work on ?
Do you experience this any particular PDF or happens with all of them?
Did you try the same with turning on the OCR ?Please check the same and compare the outputs .Does that help you in anyway ?

A's with boxes around them??

Everywhere on my desktop where there is supposed to be text there are A's with boxes around them. This is the same when I click on the finder...instead of having things like My Documents it has nothing but A's with boxes around them. I have a print screen picture of it but don't know how to post it on here.

Hyperlinks show up with a box around them in Pages 2 PDF's.

I am excited that web links now show up as hyperlinks. However, when I export a .pdf of the document, the hyperlinks end up with a box around them that makes them unreadable.
Any idea how to get rid of the box. It doesn't show up in the original document. Only when you view invisibles.

you are right with your thought. I am thankful for every info to get better in every way. The posts in the Pages Discussions are easy to understand and so it should be. Wow, I can tell you, that this is very different to some 3D forums.
After I know how to start the English version of Pages (thank you Matthias, this was a very good advice), I think most people can follow my explanations better, without the time of waiting for your title translations

I was using my phone and all of a sudden i went to sweep over to page 2 and my screen is almost like frozen. Instead now I have little boxes around the application and I have to double tap on it and it might open and it might not. I can't sweep over to my other page.

Besides what AnaMusic stated, a common thing I see at work is that a lot of people don't realize that with multi-tasking, the phone can seem to freezeup, lockup, or just be unresponsive at all.
I would say to double-tap on the Home Button. Across the bottom of the screen (iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, iPad 1 & 2) and iPod Touch 3rd and 4th Generations) you will see all the applications that are open. Press and hold any one of them until you see the red circle with the minus sign in it. Then, just tap on the minus signs to close out all the apps. After closing out all apps, Perhaps turn your iPhone 4 off, then back on again. This does not delete the apps - only closes them.
I've seen people at work with this issue. The record with the most open apps that I have personally seen was 142. The client hadn't known this, and every single app had been opened since she received her phone.
Another reset (after closing all the apps) is to press and hold both the Home Button and the Sleep/Wake Button until you see the Apple Logo. Don't let go when the "swipe to turn off" message is displayed or when it powers off - keep holding, but just until the Apple Logo appears.
Hopefully, it is this simple.

In my updated Pages 5.2, when I click on a specific shape to manipulate it, all the other shapes on the page have blue boxes around them. I cannot grab and work with one shape easily. Why?

It sounds to me like you have the shapes grouped together. Select them and either look in the Arrange pane of the Format inspector and towards the bottom you should see a Group and Ungroup button. Also you go to the drop down menu Arrange > Ungroup to do the same effect.

Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn this OFF.

My ipod touch has a box around everything i touch

At first the touch wasn't working. Finally the battery died and I was able to charge it and now the slide isnt work right, its very slow. i have to double tap an icon for it to work. a box appears around anything i touch even around the time.

You have an accessibility feature turned on, likely VoiceOver. Triple click the Home button and then go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn them off. Use three fingers to scroll.
You can also connect the iPod to the computer and go to the Summary pane of the iPod in iTunes and click on Configure Universal Access and turn it off.
