Touch - songs will not shuffle

My songs will not shuffle even tho I touch "shuffle" in the playlist. Keeps playing the same song over and over. It has worked previously but it seems like it stopped shuffling the last time I upgraded software.

This is the fourth time I have answered this ... and the other day it happened to me...
When the song is playing, there are 3 icons showing. (See ipodtouchscr.jpg.)
I bet you hit the first one -- the repeat song icon -- by accident. If it is blue instead of white, it has been engaged. Touch it again to turn that off!

  • I am using iOS 8.1 on the iPhone 6 and my music will not shuffle.  It will play one or two songs then go to the home screen and stop playing music.

I updated my iPhone 6 to the latest iOS 8.1 and now my music will not shuffle.  It will play one or two songs but then shut off and return to the home screen.
Anyone else having the same issue?

Then back it up and do a restore.  If that does not work and if you are still under warranty, call Apple tech support or take the iPod to your local Apple Store or an AASP.

  • My player will not shuffle songs since last download of music?

My player will not shuffle songs since last downlaod of music

    Hi Nannohelp,
If you are having interface issues with your iPod nano (won't shuffle), a reset has not resolved it, and you have all your music available in iTunes, you may want to try restoring your iPod to factory settings, reloading the music from iTunes, then testing the shuffle function. You may find the following article helpful:

  • ITouch will not shuffle songs

My itouch will not shuffle any albums or playlists but rather repeats the first song played endlessly. Even when I select an album, the itouch will play the first song over and over.
I did a restore when this happened before (about 2-3 weeks ago), and the shuffle option worked again, but this time, the restore did not fix the problem with the shuffle option or with the songs playing moving to the next selection.
I have the latest ipod software.
Perhaps there is an ipod setting that I do not know about.
    Help will be much appreciated!

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Make sure you haven't got repeat set. Tap the repeat button on the left hand side under the time elapsed until it's either blue for repeat playlist or white for no repeat. If it's blue with a 1 it'll just repeat the same song.

  • IPod Classic 120 will not shuffle songs

I  have a classic that has decided it will not shuffle through a play lis automatically and manually?
    Any thoughts are welcome

What happens when you try? If you start a song playing, what happens when the first one ends?
How did you turn on the shuffle feature?
Did you set it to shuffle songs or albums?
Are the songs in the Playlist set to Skip when shuffling?
What do you mean it will not shuffle through a play lis automatically and manually ? What is automatic shuffle; what is manual shuffle?

I never heard of that problem before. I I can suggest is the stand fixes:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

What a pain -on a mac- never had aproblem- loaded a new shuffle with music - will not let me sync itunes store bought songs- will not let me authorize the computer. I have a ipod as well. Is this a block when loading a second device? OR?

In iTunes, do Store->View my AppleID
    Click "Deuthorize ALL"
Then, on any computers you still have, do Store->Authorize this computer.  If there are less than 5, you will have no problem.
You can only do "deauthorize all" once a year, so in the future, if you ever throw a computer away, remember do to "Store->Deauthorize this computer" first.

  • In an iPod Nano 6 songs will not play in A-Z order.

I have over 100 songs in one playlist.  This concerns an iPod Nano 6.  The songs are in alphabetical order on my Nano.  The songs will not play in alphabetical order and skips around.  How can I corredt this problem?

It's not a "problem," if the iPod is set to shuffle.  On page 21 of the 6th gen nano's manual
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1551/en_US/iPod_nano_6thgen_User_Gu ide.pdf
find the shuffle button on the Now Playing screen (it looks like two arrows crossing).  Tap it to toggle between shuffling the current song list and playing it in order.

  • I have an iPod touch that will not turn on.

Hello forums! I have an iPod touch that will not turn on. I have tried everything I can to turn it back on, but I just cant find the right thing. I dont know if it is in need of a new digitizer, or the battery is dead, but I would really appreciate some help. It is an iPod touch 3rd generation.

  • My ipod touch 4g will not connect to my computer. Its not even in the device manager

My ipod touch 4g will not connect to my computer. Not to charge or connect to itunes. My usb ports work fine with everything else. I went and bought a new wall charger that came with a synce cord and it works fine, as a wall charger with wont work with my computer. Ive done the whole rebooting, re downloading itunes, redownloading apple software, the whole 9 yards.
What exactly happens when I plug my ipod touch 4g up if it turns on like it suppose to but instead of going to the home screeen with the little lighting bult in the battery is just acts like its not even plugged in. It just goes to connect to itunes screen.
I sent it to apple and they told me that whatever was wrong with it wasnt under warrenty but didnt tell me what it was. Ugh! It doesnt have water damage, I checked the indicators. So what do I do now? I would rather not go and get it fixed and spend 100 dollars. I would rather try and figure it out myself. Help please!

From what Apple said it appears you have a hardware problem. I would either pay to get it fixed or make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and discus it with them.
