Touch up post rotoscope

I'm wondering if there is some way to further touch up something that has been rotoscoped out of footage.
I mean the subject of rotoscope (the inside of the mask) is what is beingsaved for futher usage. (not to be used on the masked off footage.)
It's the body of a baby doing his first zombie walk.  I have several masks in play but I've been rotoscoping the arms without trying to differentiate the fingers.  (as in the attached image)  In 90 % of the footage just masking off a sort of club like that is going to be fine but in a very few frames. at the end the fingers come into focus so as you can see in the image there will be undesireable stuff captured.
At first I thought just to add more keyframes when that section starts but I see those keyframes will then be in all frames where this mask is in use.
Seem like more trouble than its worth so I wondered if once I've captured the body if I can then touch up those few frames some how.  Like with an eraser or something (ala photoshop?.
Or would I have to render the footage with the background gone and then roto the fingers?

There could be dozens of approaches. But one thing you can do is create 2 or 3 small masks, set to the "subtract" mode, to erase the holes between the fingers (which is what I understand you want, right?) SInce these masks are needed for a brief time, you could animate the opacity property for these masks (not the layer's) to make them work when you want them and then disappear.
In more general terms, it depends on what's the purpose of the roto job. If it's about replacing the background, yes, you need to deal with all the details. If it's, for example, to do selective color correction (say, making the person black and white) you can do with a more loose approah and use feather.
What  a great idea, thanks.
Thats going to help a lot because I've also noticed a few places where limbs and torso create a captured bit of background like an island.   So those extra animated masks will fix that too.  Very helpful ....thanks again

  • Touch screen not working on iPod Touch (after I dropped it in a fish tank)?

    Hello,
I dropped my brand new iPod Touch into my fish tank while it was on. It stayed on for a few seconds but shut down before I was able to get it out. Besides the obvious water damage, it also suffered three cracks across the screen.
I immediately dried it with towels and stood it up to let the water drain out. When no more water was dripping out of the charging port on its own, I took to blowing into both the charging port and the earphone jack myself until there were no more water droplets coming out. When that was finished, I buried my iPod in a bowl of rice for 4 days.
Today I took my iPod out, and tried to turn it on. Nothing happened, so I plugged it into my charging dock. The white Apple icon appeared, as if it were about to turn on, but went black after about 30 seconds. This repeated itself many times until finally, to  my surprise, the lock screen came on! I was so excited that it finally started working, and swiped my finger across the "Slide to Unlock" bar. Nothing happened... puzzled, I tried again. It will not let me type in my code or anything, the touch screen is not responding.
    Any ideas?
I at least want to get it to sync with my computer so that I can get my data on there before having to replace my iPod, I do not want to lose everything (for the second time).
Thank you so much in advance for any tips or advice that you can offer at this time.

First read this representative suggestion on saving your soaked Touch:
    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_fix_an_iPod_that_fell_in_water
If you used your Touch like most users, you sync the tunes via iTunes. That means all the audio and video is saved to your hard disk - which is great news. Your documents are preserved. On the other hand, if you don't use iTunes, I'm not sure I can help.
    Do you sync your Touch?

  • Apple please read: iPod touch has same issue

Ok. Digging a little deeper on this issue...
When it goes to standby, the wifi turns off to conserve power. Once out of standby, it reconnects to wifi and then push begins. - iPod Touch Forum Post
    http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/index.php/t-882308.html
If this is true, there is an app that must be using the push feature on the iPad. Causing it to lock up routers.

A very good theory I think. I've noticed that behavior for a long time at work with my MBP and an older Linksys 8-porty router. I don't use it much there, but have been aware that it can kill the WiFi at times if it looks for Mail before connecting. Ethernet does not seem to be affected but still have to re-set the router.
When awakening, I can see full bars, then it goes off, then full bars again. Negotiates further then connects.

  • Does the iPod Touch work well for web browsing and submitting resumes?

Hi, I am interested to know if the Touch would work well for a specific application. Lets say I'm surfing company career websites and want to browse and submit my resume. Would this work well for that? Usually on a computer, I can upload a Word Doc or PDF resume when the career site asks for it. Is this possible? I was wondering if anyone has tried this and can tell me. For instance, has anyone used the Touch to post a resume to Apple's or IBM's career job sites?
    Thanks.

Just to clarify. I'm specifically asking if a web form that allows you to browse your hard drive on a Mac to submit a word doc can also be used on Touch. So if I have a PDF of my resume, can I use a webform to submit it just like on a mac?

  • Recovering lost music using my ipod touch

i run a multi-harddrive system. I lost the hardrive that had my music on it.
All of my music still shows on itunes but when i try to play it, it says cant find file path.
All of my music is still on my Ipod touch, but im afaid to connect it to my computer. Because all the music is gone.
Is thier a way to recover all my music from my ipod????
also what about the Back up that itunes, automatically does just before each sync?

    Hi,
Sorry to hear you're having HD problems.
To find out about retrieving your music from your Touch search posts by "Zevoneer" eg. here - [Click Here|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0]
The "Back Up" performed by iTunes is a little misleading, it actually only backs up preferences and settings but not you content.
The lesson from this situation is not to trust all of your valuable music to only one HD, have at least one other HD back up (they are cheap these days) and periodically back up your music files to CD or DVD.
    Good luck,
    Dud.

  • Problems with touch screen in ideapad U530

I Have a Ideapad U530. The touch screen worked a few hours, after having purchased and then I stop. I saw that had disappeared the "Pen and Touch" and Tablet PC in the Control Panel folder.
I went back to recover the system at the time had arrived from the factory and the laptop returned to work a few hours, this time with the Pen and Touch and the Tablet PC in the Control Panel. Then returned to stop working and disappeared again both drivers.
I need to find a solution to this problem.
    Can I help me?

    Hi Adrileb,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that your U530 Laptop touch screen is not working as expected even after performing “System Restore” in the computer, I suggest re-installing display driver from our Support Website and check if the issue persists and while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error. Below is the link to download the relevant drivers for U530:
Drivers and software - IdeaPad U530 Touch
Do post us back if the issue persists.
    Best Regards

  • IPhone stuck in reboot loop - too many apps installed?

    Hi guys!
Starting some months ago, I've had nothing but problems with my iPhone. However, I've been dealing with most of these or even solved them.
But now I'm stuck on a reboot loop for a few days and don't know what to do.
When did it start? I think it was in May when I first got panic.plist, ResetCounter and SpringBoard-CrashLogs under "Diagnostics and Usage". Following this, everytime I rebooted my phone or the battery was empty, it could take some more minutes than normal for my iPhone to boot. This loading time increased and increased, in October it once took more than two days for my iPhone to reboot. I now have really thousands of those ErrorLogs. The Apple support on the phone couldn't help me either. Additionally, the phone performed some cruel changes I can't explain: Once the language was changed, once the photo gallery had to be restored (the iPhone did that on its own).
However, sometime in November the iPhone crashed, and I was already thinking that it would now last a few days until I could use it again. But somehow it was done within 15 minutes. Without any error or reboot loop. The last two months I haven't had any problems with this until the battery was empty three days ago.
Since then, I have had the iPhone plugged in so the battery doesn't get empty and it's stuck on the bright Apple logo. After about 210 seconds the logo gets dark, then the screen is completely black and it's starting the same procedure again. Sometimes I get the vibration, sometimes the loading circle (white wheel of death!), but everytime it just starts over again.
I am pretty sure this problem appears because I have more than 1300 apps installed (yes, this is a very huge number, but I remember Steve Jobs saying that, with the folders in iOS 4, it would be possible to have a few thousand apps installed), 4000+ photos, and so on. I am pretty sure it's not a hardware, but a software problem. In detail, it's about the SpringBoard. The iPhone 4S only has 512MB RAM, so it's hard for it to load 1300+ app icons into its memory (which it has to because the SpringBoard has to run without any lags). Only in some cases it's able to boot that up, but I have absolutely no idea which cases these are and why it has run well for the last two months, but beginning with the new year stopped to work.
Furthermore, the panic.plist entries all say that the problem is a watchdog timeout. Apple's iOS seems to allow the devices only to take up to two minutes (always around 120 seconds in the CrashLogs) to boot up, then probably another 120 seconds to launch the SpringBoard process (which explains the watchdog timeouts in the SpringBoard-CrashLogs).
I will not restore the iPhone because I unfortunately haven't backed up for a long time and there have been many data changes since the last backup.
So altogether, I tried to collect all the information I know here, but that's really not enough. Apple unlikely wants to help me, the phone support was really nice, but even asked his superior, who couldn't help either.
My questions to you folks now are: Do you have any more information regarding panic.plist's, watchdog timeouts or reboot loops?
What would your advice be? Any chance to get onto my data and back it up? Or is waiting the best solution?
Would it be better to try several hard resets, or let the battery run empty and start the whole process again, or just let the phone plugged in so it tries to reboot on and on until it's hopefully successful sometime?
And: Would it maybe increase the loading time if I would take the SIM card out of the iPhone, so the chance to have an successful try would be higher?
Note: I am still using iOS 5.1.1 because I am completely sure that I'd have to buy an iPhone 5 to run 1300+ apps on iOS 6.

Okay, some more information about this.
Apparently there is a 'watchdog' that listens whether the iPhone's software responds or not. If it doesn't, it forces a restart, and also creates a panic.plist entry (under Diagnostics). Unfortunately the responding time is only 120 seconds. The problem I have now is the so called 'Application Map'. To ensure a smooth browsing through the different screen filled with apps, this map is regenerated everytime the user installs a new app or deletes one. Because I have more than 1300 apps installed, generating this Application Map usually takes more than two minutes. I can only hope that sometime in the next days my iPhone will be able to do this in less than 120 seconds (like it has done that several times before).
I still can't explain why everything had been working great during the last two months. I have probably installed some new apps, but also deleted other ones, so the number of total apps didn't really increase heavily.
However, I've read about some possible solutions to this problem (without restoring - which would solve the problem only temporarily anyway):
Hard-resetting the iPhone until the screen is completely black, then wait a few minutes, then turn the device on. It's possible that this has to be repeated several times, but for the user who posted this it resolved the issue.
For all the (in this case lucky) guys with a jailbreak: SSH into the iPhone, then temporarily move the watchdog located under /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/mobilewatchdog.bundle to a different folder, the iPhone will boot up after a few minutes. Then just move the watchdog back. It's a shame that apparently jailbreak users can resolve this issue, while normal users can't.
I also want to note that this problem has been appearing since iOS 2, which came out more than four years ago. It would be really no big deal for Apple developers to change the 120 seconds to e.g. 300 or even more. I've found hundreds of threads, not only here, where users complain about exactly the same issue. I don't have any hope that an Apple employee will ever read this, but if so, please keep that in mind. I don't understand why Apple has done nothing to solve this issue.
However, if you have any more ideas, please reply here. If there's anyone around here who has managed to successfully install more than 1300 apps on his iPhone (or iPod touch), please post that.

  • WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL CELL PHONE AND TABLET/ULTRABOOK/LAPTOP COMBO?

I’d like to see what everyone here thinks is the best CELL PHONE and TABLET/ULTRABOOK/LAPTOP combination to own this year now that the CES show is coming to a close.  So post up what you think is the ideal combination from what has been announced.  Maybe, just maybe, Best Buy will listen and insure they carry the products we want.
    My vote goes to:
PHONE = Samsung Galaxy Note LTE (unlocked - carrier independent)
TABLET/ULTRABOOK/LAPTOP = Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 with Windows 8 and its’ IPS touch screen
(Posted this in the Cell Phone AND Tablet forums)

    Blackberry 9810
efficient keyboard for quick access to functions.  How many other phones have 26 quick keys to dial a number?
convenient one handed operation on the bus because it has a trackpad
great battery life with the slower processor
user replaceable battery.  You can change a battery for the cost of a good dinner.  Other phones have sealed batteries that force you to get a hair dry to rip the battery out.  Basically they force you to get a new phone....SCAM
durability..... seen too many cracked Apple screens.  Takes a lot of punishment without needing a THICK "bumper"
brightness.... notice how dim iPhone screens are on bus compared to other phones?
data compression.... doesn't  rack up my data plan.  Doesn't have Siri.  Blackberry uses 1/3 or 1/6 the data compared to other phones.  Very important, especially when travelling
BBM saves me money when texting with other international BBM users.
the 9810 sliding mechanism means the phone is compact when not used, but grows in size when needed
the 9810 keyboard does not shrink my viewing area when I'm typing
    Blackberry Playbook
plays flash websites.... i got tired of Apple forcing websites to create an App to work (scam)
fits in my purse and pocket
dual speakers without a dock..... it's amazing the audio quality
    stereo microphones
smart bezel where the frame is an added touchpad functionality
With the upcoming OS update next month, Blackberries can take remote control of the Playbook tablet.... HOT as the phone keyboard can be used as Playbook tablet keyboard and phone screen become a mouse!

  • Has anyone else had this weird issue?

It doesn't happen every time, but often when I travel on a coach for a long distance journey my iPhone 5c starts going crazy. For example when I'm using an app such as Facebook, I might be in the middle of typing a post out and the screen might go back or select to post something without me touching the post or back buttons. This seems to happen mid journey and will get worse as the journey goes on. Is there something on coaches that cause interference with my phone screen or something? I try wiping the screen and I've tried turning the phone off and on and I still get the issue.

Try reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

  • Do all photo's need to be processed?

Do all photo's need to be processed? How do you know if it needs it or not? I mean other than if you want to be artsy with your pictures like making HDR effects, etc. Or is it subjective?

Do all photo's need to be processed? How do you know if it needs it or not? I mean other than if you want to be artsy with your pictures like making HDR effects, etc. Or is it subjective?
Actually all photographs are processed. There is no such thing as an unprocessed photograph. Whether you do it consciously using a raw editor, or let the camera make decisions for you doesn't matter really as you apply an interpretation of the raw data. With film the same thing applies. There the choice of film stick, the filters you use, and the printing technology and dark room decisions are unavoidable "processing" steps. In digital, a scene rendered physically correct as captured by the sensor is very boring and looks nothing like the jpeg out of camera nor like the default Lightroom rendering. This is why SOOC is such silly nonsense. Jpegs are cooked files. The default raw rendering in Lightroom is only one possible interpretation and not necessarily a neutral or unprocessed one (far from). Photography as we know it is always subjective. Mainly because human vision is subjective and very different from how a camera sensor works. There is always a degree of toning, contrast enhancement, etc. going on. The raw editor and tools such as Photoshop just gives you more control over it than having the camera do it for you based on decisions the engineering team for the camera made. You can definitely do extremely good photography by never touching a post processing tool and just using jpegs out of camera. Just don't call it unprocessed. You are however leaving some major creative tools unused that could improve your images substantially. In the end however this is all a creative decision and there is no right answer for everybody.

  • Update without pluging ipod into mac????

I've heard that the new app store application that we are geting this June has a app that will allow us to update to the current software directly on the iPod touch
please post back if you think this app will succeed in allowing us to enjoy our iPod more.

How would this application backup user data before the Update/Restore process commenced? How would it restore media to the device after the Update has been conducted. What happens if the download is corrupted part way?
Think I'll stick to running software updates from my iMac. I waited a week for 1.1.4 because I was out and about but it wasn't the end of the world.

  • Why is my playlist shuffling when I don't want it to?

Apologies for posting to iPod touch, but posting here since this is an iPod software functionality issue despite my having an iPhone4. I have playlists, and I like the songs to play in order. For some reason, the songs shuffle anyways. The "Shake to Shuffle" function turned off. Additionally, the little shuffle icon at the top right of the screen isn't visible for me to select it "off". Sometimes its there, sometimes it's not. Any feedback is enormously appreciated!

Go to the now playing window. Then deselect the shuffle icon

  • No back up option

First off not computer savy. I would like to back up my purchase/non purchased itunes. In help it says to go to file and library and back up. Back up is not there?? Is there a way I can back up to external?
I have Itunes 10 using Vista

    eurofighter wrote:
When I select "devices" a backup as of June 2010 is shown.
Well at least the two match, your Mobile Sync back up folder and what the iTunes preferences are showing. However, it defies all logic and reason. A new backup is created every single time you sync. It IS ceased automatically by iTunes.
I recently installed iOS 4.3 from the scratch and afterwards became aware of the problem when I tried to recover it from a previous (old) backup. Previous version was 4.2 (4.2.1? I'm not sure).
You mean you tried to restore from a backup that was running 4.3 ?
Now I tried to delete my backup and sync again. Unfortunately the problem still exists.
Not that I have any more ideas but if you now select the backup from the preferences in iTunes, does it still show June 2010 as the backup?
There are no restrictions enabled on my iPad.
    Desperation - grasping at straws!
Really bizarre. Are there any other tools (except iTunes) available to backup my iPad?
No. The only way to back up is by syncing your iPad to iTunes on your computer.
I'm reaching for anything now. Is the date correct on your Mac Mini in the system preferences? If not, I wonder if that could be causing a conflict.
Have you ever run the disk utility in the Utilities Folder in Applications on your Mac? You run the Disk Utility program and try verifying the hard disk, repairing the hard disk, verify and repair the disk permissions. Maybe there is something out of whack on your computer. Sometimes a fragmented disk can cause weird goings on. But this one is really, really weird. Something may be corrupt somewhere in your system or on the iPad. If you do run Disk Utility, reboot when you are done before you try another sync.
None of this makes sense. I know you are baffled and I am as well. I just don't know what else to suggest except a call to Apple Support. Stay in touch and post back and in the meantime, if I can think of anything else I will post.
