Touch up Tool doesn't  take my font

Hello everybody!
My Problem ist that i want to add text to a PDF file - and my systen didn't have the right font - so i downloaded an appropriate one. I dont care how to do it. Since it is only the date that has to changed it could be an "ugly solution" as well.
First when i tried to change something in the document Acrobat gave me an Error-Pop-up:
"All or part of the selection has no available system fond. You cannot add or delete text using the currently selected one."
So I downloaded a Font that matches pretty well (I downloaded "Futura Light BT" and  the one in the document is "FuturaLtBT"), changed its Name to "FuturaLtBT" and copied it to the system font folder. That didn't work and i got the same error message what surprised me quite a bit.
When i looked again in the System folder i saw that the Name of the Font was "Fututa Light BT" and not FuturaLtBT - so adobe didn't accerpt the namechange..
Any ideas how i can write the Date with the font i downloaded?
P.S. I'm using Acrobat professional 7.1...

Hi,
I Googled "System doesn't recognize my downloaded font" and this is the help that I got and it worked for me:
Whether you download fonts from the Internet or have a CD full of typefaces, in order to use them in your word processor or other programs you must install TrueType or OpenType fonts in the Windows fonts folder. It is a simple procedure, but heed the following notes and tips when you install TrueType or OpenType fonts.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 1-5 minutes
Here's How:
1.   Go to Control Panel.
Click on your Start button and select Settings > Control Panel (or Open My Computer then Control Panel)
2.   Go to your Fonts folder.
Open (Doubleclick) the Fonts folder.
3.   Go to Install New Font.
Select File | Install New Font.
Check the Font FAQ if your Install New Font command is missing.
4.   Find the directory with the font(s) you want to install.
Use the Folders: and Drives: windows to move to the folder on your hard drive, a disk, or CD where your new TrueType or OpenType fonts are located.
5.   Find the font(s) you want to install.
Highlight the TrueType or OpenType font to install from the List of fonts window.
6.   Install the font(s).
Click OK. This completes your TrueType or OpenType font installation.
Tips:
1.               Put installed fonts on your hard drive.
If you are going to install TrueType or OpenType fonts from a CD be sure the 'Copy fonts to folder' box is checked; otherwise, fonts may not be available to use if the CD is not in the drive at all times.
2.               TrueType fonts have the extension .TTF
TrueType fonts require only this one file for installation and use.
3.               OpenType fonts have the extension .TTF or .OTF
OpenType fonts require only this one file for installation and use.

  • Touch up tool - Full document selection

It seems I can't select all, and use the Touch up tool  to change the size of all my text at once.
Is there any way around this?
I am currently scanning old journal pages into pdf (through scansnap [Fujitsu scanner)  and using acrobat 7, then converting to word to do a bit of editing where needs be.  ( journal was typed and printed from pc in the past), biggest issue I am having is text converting over strangely, all sorts of fudged up symbols being generated etc.
But I did notice when I enlarge the text, and change it all to arial font via the touch up tool, that it converts over much better when I save as .doc
I just need to be able to select 30-50 pages at a time, being that doing one page at a time would take forever when I have over 2000 pages to go.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,   Thanks.

If you want to better conversion provide a better scan. Scan at 300-400 dpi. Scan to tiff and import the tiff.

  • Text touch-up tool in Acrobat 9 not working

Does anyone know if this is a glich in CS4 or if I'm doing something wrong. When I click on the text touch up tool in Acrobat 9 (comes with CS4), nothing happens. The arrow doesn't change into a text tool so there's no way to fix text in a PDF.

Do you have text, or a picture of text? If you take the tool over text it should change to an Ibar. If you hold down the ctrl key and place the cursor, you should get an Ibar waiting for you to enter text at that location. If it is simply a graphic, you will only get an arrow.

  • Touch up tool

    Hi there,
there is a problem I come across quite often with the Touch up tool in adobe acrobat 8 professional which is remove/add characters from a document. Specifically this time I am trying to remove a dot from a bullet list which partially disappear after tagging the document. There's only one dot left and I tried to use the touch up tool to remove. The touch tool loads fine but when I try to use it it comes up with
a message saying: "All or part of the selection has no available system font. You cannot add or delete text using the currently selected font." I attached the message and the document I am trying to modify (on the top right there's a red box with a list containing: indoor rowing, dance, aerobics, kurling - which has a white dot which I want to remove). Can anybody tell me why that happens and if there is a workaround?
    Thanks

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

I have encountered the same problem, a simple workaround is to highlight the text (in touchup mode), right click and hit Properties. The properties screen will allow you to change the font to one that you have.(See screenshot attached) Once you do this, you can then delete the text. But note that you can't change the font back (as you don't have it).
If you need to add or edit moret ext you may need to this to the whole document, otherwise you'll have different fonts in the pdf.
    Hope that helps.

  • Brush tool doesn't work

I have just downloaded Photoshop Touch to my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is running Android 4.0.4. The brush tool doesn't seem to work. I was wondering if this software is supported on this tablet.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that you have problems using the brush tool. Unfortunately I'm not able to reproduce – see my attached screenshot.
When you compare the attached screenshot with the result on your device what difference are you seeing?

  • Text Touch Up Tool

I want to edit just one word in a scanned text document. I used the OCR text recognition first and then selected the Text Touch Up Tool.  I then highlighted the one word and a cursur was displayed which made me think I could edit the word.  When I tried to backspace to delete the word the cursor moves along the line of the word but nothing happens, nothing is deleted.  If I try to type the cursor advances but none of the characters are displayed. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

If you're using Acrobat 9, you'll need to select Clearscan in the Recognize Text Setting menu. This will allow you to utilize the Touch Up Text tool to make changes to the document. However, note that you'll need to change the font from the custom fonts to a font that is available on your computer.

  • Touch up tool stops working

    Hello everyone.
Strangest thing keeps happening to me. From time to time the touch up tool simply doesn't work on some photo's. If I try a different photo it is fine. Go back to the one it didn't work on, and it still doesn't work. But, if I clone the photo using "duplicate version from master" it starts working on the duplicated version.
Using version 2.12. Anyone else experience this?

Really? No one else has seen this problem?

  • Flash Catalyst doesn`t recognize installed fonts

    Hi folks,
got a little problem with my fonts inside of Catalyst 5.0 (working on Windows 7 64 bit prof.)
I have a bunch of font-families installed on my system (Eurostile Font and DIN-Font) and these fonts are not recognize by Catalyst.
I did some page and logo designs with Illustrator and Photoshop with these fonts - without any problem. But if I import my layouts into Catalyst, it doesn`t find the font and do a replacement.
Also, if I rebuild the textlayers direct in Catalyst I can`t select my prefered fonts cause they doesn`t stand in the fontlist.
So could anybody help my? How can I fix that? Is Catalyst limited to fonts in any way?
    Best regards
    Robert

My guess is those fonts are not TrueType or OpenType format fonts. If memory serves, those are the only font formats that Flash Catalyst/Flash Builder support. Other tools have different levels of font support.

Copying from Oracle SQL Developer Worksheet doesn't retain formatting (font, color etc...)in Microsoft Word but copying from other programs such as
visual studio, chrome browser etc works fine. This doesn't work even after changed the setting to Keep Source formatting of Options-> Copy and Paste Settings

    Hi,
I notice that you have cross posted in Answers forum and Oracle forum. Have you tried Mr. Peter's suggestion?
Then, I recommend we check the Word settings:
    1. Go to: Options > Advanced > Cut, Copy and Paste
    2.  Make sure that Use smart cut and paste is ticked.
    3. Click the Settings button next to this option
    4. Make sure that Smart Style
    Behavior is checked.
If the issue still exists, please upload a sample through One Drive, I want to test.
