Touch won't find App updates

My touch will not find any updates via the App Store. It always tells me all Apps are up to date.
I can find updates using iTunes, these will download and sync to the touch without any problem. I have even left updating Apps through iTunes so that I can check on the touch but it still says there are no updates available.
Its a first gen touch running 2.2.1. I can honestly say that I can't remember if this problem occurred before updating to 2.2.1

Sold the touch and got an iPhone!

  • Why won't my apps update - I have 7 updates waiting to go and when you click on any of the apps, they say installing but have never finished?

Why won't my apps update on my ipad? I have 7 updates waiting to go and when I click on them they all say they are installing but they have never completed their installation?  Please help

    Try resetting ...
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
You won't lose any data as a result of a reset.

  • IPod touch 3rd Gen won't finish app updates or movie download.

App updates would get stuck and stop downloading, so after trying different things I have restored to factory 5.01 without restoring any apps or data. That didn't work. App downloads hang, App updates hang. Movie downloads then after processing and seemingly finished stops with with "Unable to download now could not be downloaded this time"
I have tried external power and without, on, locked and always unlocked.  Nothing works. I have managed to get one app download in about 30 trys and zero movies.
Please don't say something lame like "you can connect it to your itunes and download them there and synch"  What is the point of that?
I do this exact same stuff on the same network, same account, same wifi, with two ipads, two iphone 4's, and a 4th gen touch.  This device has always had update isues especially more than 2 or 3 apps.
Since all my other devices work, it seems this ipod touch may have had a problem since the get-go. But, it still could be something like the way it this exact device is handled on my account at Apple or something.
    What can I do?

fix it? Those are my two favorite app that I haven't been able to use since Friday (June 7th,2013)

    Hello Briana,
If you are stuck with trying to get the apps to update, check out the troubleshooting steps in the following article. I would also try and power off the iPod Touch and turn it back on.

  • Why won't my apps update?

I don't have wi-fi, but I thought that connecting to a computer via a usb cord, I'd still be able to get my apps to function and/or update, but they don't. I can't figure out what the difference between a wi-fi connection and a direct connection is that won't allow the transfer of information. Can anyone explain this to me?

You can get updates to Apps via iTunes on your computer. Start iTunes and click on "Apps" In the "Library" section on the left panel of the screen. There will be a notification of "Updates Available" at the bottom right of the screen. If you click on this you will see which App updates are available and select which to download. When you next connect your iPod these updates will be transferred to it.

  • Why won't my apps update now that I have updated to iOS 7? The are stuck in "waiting." And how do I fix it?

I updated to the iOS 7 and now several apps, iBooks included, won't finish the update. I can't delete and re-download because they are stuck in "waiting." Also, I can't seem to reload apps sent to cloud back to my phone.
Storage isn't the issue because I have checked that. Or at least in the surface it doesn't appear to be. Any other trouble shooting ideas are appreciated.

I found that what worked to correct this issue on my iPhone 4S was to turn off automatic app updates. I went to Settings - iTunes & App Store - and under Automatic Downloads, switched Updates to off. My apps that were stuck in 'Waiting' immediately began downloading.
Although I would like to be able to use the automatic update feature, at least I found a fix to the 'waiting' issue for now.

  • Appstore won't show app updates

After my iphone5 updateed to IOS 6.0.2, my iphone won't show any app updates anymore. If I go to the appstore app on my iphone, I tap updates, it tells me "All apps are up to date". But if I search the apps one by one, it shows "updates"... connection to appstore is not a problem.
Anybody has the same issue here?

    Hi Frustratedannon!
I completely understand your frustration regarding these issues. Allow me to suggest a couple of things that may help lessen your frustration and resolve some issues. First, you should look to see if you have Automatic Downloads activated on your iPad (it could explain why the Simpsons game would have showed up on your iPad out of the blue):
iTunes Store: How to enable Automatic Downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4539
In order to actually get rid of the Simpsons app or finish downloading it, you may need to try turning off your iPad, then turning it back on. You also may need to try a reset, which is a simple power cycle procedure that does not affect your data on your iPad. Both of these steps are explained in the following article:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

  • IPOD touch won't sync apps

I have read many forums and attempted all the solutions but my ipod touch 4 still won't sync apps. My sister has the exact same ipod and she has no problem syncing the apps onto it. Both ipods are equipped with the latest software and I have the latest version of itunes.
When i sync apps onto my ipod this is what happens: it first says preparing to sync, then less than a second later it says, determining to syn and then it straightaway just says finishing sync and the apps i already had on the ipod won't work anymore, even though they appear on the page.
i have worked all afternoon on it and i have tried everything i possibly could but it still won't sync.
I would really appreciate any suggestions to this problem as soon as possible thankyou.

    Hello,
I do not have the same model ipod as you do, but something similar happened to me. You may want to try completley turing off/restarting your ipod. If this does not work, try a different computer for your itunes library.

  • IPhine 5s won't download app updates

IPhone 5s 7.1.2 can't download app updates today. I have 1.9g available space and Apple support says the apps store is working. I'm at home on my wifi router and I can download updates on my iPad.
I keep getting the popup message that the app cannot be downloaded at this time.
    aany ideas would be appreciated!
    Thanks, Kevin

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • My apple devices all on iOS6.1.3 (iPhone 5, iPad 4 and iPod touch) won't find Bluetooth devices

My iPhone 5, my iPad 4th generation and my iPod touch will not find my Bluetooth panasonic speaker or any other Bluetooth devices that are switched on. They all have the iOS.6.1.3 software. When you turn on Bluetooth on any of these devices it just swirls  around and doesn't continuously and never finds any devices despite my Panasonic Bluetooth speaker being available. Can anyone help or come up with any suggestions as to why all three of my devices cannot Find or connect to any Bluetooth device? Much appreciated!! Thanks!! X

Based on your explanation, it sounds like your Panasonic speaker and "any other Bluetooth devices that are switched on" are not in pairing mode when your iPhone, iPad, and iPod are looking for devices to pair with.
The most likely way to achieve your objective would be to cycle power on the Panasonic speaker and other devices at just about the same time as you start your Bluetooth pairing hunt on the Apple devices.  In other words, turn on Bluetooth on, say, the iPhone and then quickly after that, cycle power on the Panasonic speaker.

  • IPod Touch won't find Bluetooth headsets

I have 2 Bluetooth headsets, one of which is brand new, but my iPod Touch will not find any of them whatsoever.
Any tips? I have Bluetooth turned on but it still constantly says "Searching..." under devices and never finds anything. And I know the mics are in pairing mode because they work fine with my PS3.
    Thanks in advance

If you are talking about a headset that has a earpiece(s) and and mic it depends up the bluetooth profile that the headset uses. Many such headsets, especially mono ones use the Hands Free Profile (HFP) with the iPod does not support. The iPod supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). See the following for supported BT profiles.

  • IPod Touch won't allow apps to update, says not enough space

My iPod Touch (which I believe is a 4th generation) will not allow me to update my apps. With help, I was finally able to update iTunes and update my iPod to iOS 6, which I thought would fix the problem, but it hasn't. I deleted all of my photos and videos, assuming that would free up a huge amount of space, and it did, but my iPod currently has 887MB of space available (it's an 8G model). I have 5G of iCloud space available but I don't really know what iCloud is or how to use that storage space. So how do I convince my iPod Touch that it has more than adequate space to update the apps that need it? Any and all help would be sincerely appreciated, THANK YOU!

How many apps are you trying to update? How big are the updates? It must think that there isn't enough free space to store the updated versions of the apps.
iCloud space won't help you on this, it's only for additional off-device storage.

  • Ipod touch won't open apps?

I have an ipod touch, and whenever I try to open an app I've downloaded that's not preloaded into the ipod, it'll open up for about a second and then instantaneously flash back to the home screen. At first is was one app, then it was several, and then it becomes all of them. Sometimes they lose their picture too.
It's set to the newest version, there are no updates. I've checked. I've also checked if any of the apps require a new update or a newer generation ipod. Since I have the newest version and itunes won't install an app that requires a newer generation ipod, this can't be the problem. There are no problems with the battery.
I've tried reseting the ipod, no luck. I've tried restoring the ipod and putting everything back on (several times through a previously made backup, once from scratch): both of these work for about 2 days and then I have the same problem all over again. I refuse to restore and back up my ipod every few days.
(If this info helps you any, every time I plug it into the computer it doesn't recognize it as an existing ipod, it asks me to set it up as a new ipod and tries to sync it all over again. Even if I had not restored the ipod since last I plugged it in.)
I read through several forums on this and read the official troubleshoot on how to fix the problem, but none of the suggestions seem to work.
Does anyone know of anything else I should try, or do you think I should send it in and get it looked at?

If you still have the problem after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod you very likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
