touchgraph link browser right click won't work; jre 1.4.2
Wanted to mention that the touchgraph link browser(java client) client starts correctly in Redhat 9, but i found one problem when trying to edit links. The problem being that I can't open the small popup menu when i right click in linux RedHat 9. left clicking while dragging on a selected link (in edit mode) lets you create a new link both in microsoft windows 95a and in Redhat 9. When i right click in win95a, a small menu appears that allows me to edit a link, but this menu doesn't appear after right clicking a link in edit mode in redhat 9 (which does work with TG link browser in win95).
I tried using a 2 button mouse with 3 button emulation. I also tried to use a 3 button logitech trackball which works with the old logitech c7 setting in Redhat. I also tried to operate the mouse with it's three buttons using the number keypad in linux, which works in other applications under linux. The same problem still happens in trying all of these methods.
I was told that unix and windows use different "select," "extend," and "menu" buttons(in relation to the mouse).
Maybe, microsoft windows is using a different method of interpreting the right mouse button than redhat linux 9. if so, maybe there is a way to do this in linux (really, i have no idea how this could be done, but am open to try).
If there is a solution, i would appreciate knowing how to go about doing it. .
note: I am using Sun's java 1.4.2_04 in windows 95a and I am using Sun's java 1.4.2_03 in Redhat 9. Both are the most current, i just downloaded them recently.
note: touchgraph link browser is an open source java client and applet under the GNU general Public License. I think that the source code was included with the binary. I am using touchgraph link browser v 1.20 . I downloaded from sourceforge.net

I downloaded the program and, if I think of the right situation, the right-click doesn't bring a menu for me. The thing I noticed is that when I drag a new link and (with left mouse button pressed) press right button it has an effect of 'canceling' the link. That's why I think that right mouse button works correctly. The problem is why the menu does not appear.
I can see two reasons, both causing problems not easy to solve: bug in the program or incompatibility between Windows and Linux java versions. The second one should not happen.. but it doesn't mean it's impossible. A bug in the program should be easier to find, but not by me (with not very big Java experience it'd take me several days).
What I'd do in your place is to mail the program developers (or report a bug). It won't make things worse, but can fix things.

Previously i used nightly but i uninstalled it due to it's unstable. When installing firefox, everything is ok. But i realize my middle click and right click won't work. Right Click won't work in published Captivate 4

I have seen similar questions but, although I have followed any instructions I can find, I still can't get the right click to work once I have published.
The click box was created using a right click and shows the red right click icon
I have also checked under Click Box options and the right click is ticked
I have said "No" to Enable Accessibility in publishing preferences
I have published as Flash 9
I have selected AS2
Can anyone please suggest anything else I can try?

I've done both. Oddly it works in previews just not after it's been published and uploaded

Mouse right click won't work

Just bought a new imac. I cannot figure out how to set up right click on my mouse. I have searched the internet high and low and found exactly how it is supposed to be done in system preferences. When I go to mouse in system preferences, there is no option to set up right click or secondary click. I am on OS X 10.7.2. My frustration abounds. Help me please!

Problem solved. Needed to click on "point & click" button in mouse preferences. Well, at least I was not the only dolt that had this problem.

Hi - I've recently created a number of assessment recordings. The right-click function works as I'm recording as well as when preview the project and then after I publish it. However, when I give it to a colleague(s) to demo it, for some reason the assessment isn't recognizing her right-click and she gets stuck. We're both running the same IE, flash and windows versions so I am really a at a loss on this one. Has anyone ever encountered the same problem and if so what did you do to fix it?! Right click problem: I did not know about the Yahoo sidebar issue, I have removed all toolbars from my browser from 'view' menu. There is nothing in my 'extensions' to disable. Right click is not working. What to do?

Do you have a dictionary installed and selected?
*You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.

Using firefox 14.0.1. Loading a link using right-click and "Open Link In New Window", results in new window opening but address bar does not show URL. However, if I right click on a link and select "Open Link In New Tab", the Tab shows URL in address bar. So it's working when it's a New Tab but not a New Window.

I just figured out the print quality issue for my wife with her new iMac and new printer.
She replaced both at once and she couldn't understand why her Artisan 730 was lower quality then her Epson R280 when they had the same specs.
Turns out the newer printer had the option to connect via wifi which we used during setup.
The driver options are completely different depending on how you connect.
Once I connected via USB the correct options were available and the print quality was better.
Looking at the R2400 it dies not have wifi, but while researching the problem for my wife someone esle was having an issue updating to the latest printer driver.
If you go into the print utility from the Printer and Scanner system preference and under the general tab you should have driver 5.5.
One user had to delete the old printer driver before Software Update loaded the newer printer driver.

On my MacBook Pro (w Snow Leopard) I always had to reconnect my wifi at home when it woke up. I upgraded my router from an old Netgear to a newer N D-Link and stopped having to do that.
I would be surprised you would have that problem with an Airport Extreme, you might check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

My iMac mouse right click does not work now

My iMac mouse right click does not work now. It was fine a couple of days ago.
Right click is definitely enabled, I have checked it several times.
A Google search revealed that in Firefox it could be that I'm not using the latest version of Firebug. I have auto updates on and Firebug is the latest version 1.11.3
I use right click for correcting spell checked words, instead of a suggested correct spelling I get the 'open in a new tab' menu.
In Firefox when I right click to open in a new tab I get the menu but it does nothing.
It is driving me mad

I don't use Firefox so I can't test it, but it might be something to do with a preference setting. Have a look at this link (ignore all the instructions), just look at the image of the preferences, there appears to be a setting in Javascript preferences relating to contextual menus. Check to see what your settings are:

Right-Clicks are not working when burned to disc.

Hi,
I need to use some right clicks in my course.
They work when I publish the file to my desktop or Server (unchecking 'Enable Accessiblity' and using 'Flash Global Settings'), however when I then burn the files to disc to give to a client, the right clicks do not work.
The course is made in Captivate 5.5 and is published to Flash 9.
Any ideas??

How come right click can't work in IE 7.0 AND IE 8.0

I published CP project with right click to a folder, then I uploaded it to the web server, in IE 6.0, it works OK, right click does function correctly. However, when I tested it in IE 7 AND IE 8, right click doesn't work at all. I also tried right click in FireFox browser, it works quite OK. How come that right click funtionality can't work well in IE 7 AND IE 8? Could it have anything to do with the security setting in IE 7 and IE 8? If so, how should I change the security setting?
PS: for both IE and firefox, I installed flash player 10.

I assume you're using C4?

when i right click on web dynpro components, to create a component, the context menu is not coming, right click is not working.
though right click works fine in diagram view and outline view.

Hello Srinivas,
Try closing and opening NWDS. If you still see the same problem, simple solution for this is, Just Change Workspace to new folder.
Changing workspace - Window -> Workbench -> workspace -> give new path.
Close nwds and open it again. It should solve the problem.

In "Show more Bookmarks" if I right click does not work (I want to open in a new tab)

This is using Mac Firefox current version. I use lots of tabs and don't have space for all of them so there is a >> at the right end for clicking and displaying the rest of them. If I click and display list and highlight one of them, the right click does not work - I want to open in a new tab not use the existing - there are no menu options displayed on these tabs. The tabs across the top work fine for this

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
