Touchpad configuration Ideatab Lynx K3011

I cant find where to configure the Touchpad on the attachable keyboard for the Ideatab Lynx.  I need to disable tapping or at least lower the sensitivity as I am always accidently opening / closing windows, etc when using the touchpad due to my heavy hands.  I dont find it under mouse like I would expect.  Is there a Synaptic app I need to install?  Thanks

Under Device Manager --> Mouse, do you have a tab after Hardware for Device Settings? If so, your detachable touchpad should be visible in there to disable settings.

  • How do I do a factory reset on my IdeaTab Lynx K3011?

I'm selling my IdeaTab Lynx K3011. I want to do a factory reset on it so the buyer can set it up as his or her own, and so  my data/logins/passwords are gone from it.  How do I go about doing that? Thanks,Chris

I use Rescue and Recovery for my backups.
Do you have Lenovo ONEKEY recovery program (OKR) installed on your system from the factory install?
    If so, what version?  8.0?
There is limited documentation around about OKR. A Google/Bing search of "onekey recovery documentation will provide some items to view.
You state: recovery discs on DVD are not an option.  .. Does this mean you do not have a DVD burner?
I will post 3  INFORMATIONAL links.  One describes OKR 6.0, with a create recovery media on DVD or USB.
It is my understanding, which may be wrong, Lenovo does not ship recovery discs for systems with OKR.  You must take the machine to a Lenovo shop to get HDD reset.

  • Ideatab lynx K3011 not powering up/ won't turn on

The lynx is not powering up even when I connect it using the ac adapter.  I do not have the dock.  When I connect the AC adapter to the lynx [attatches below the windows button], the light by the power button will turn red.  However, when I press the power button, it does not turn on.  I tried holding the power button down.

    hi wu1chef,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Try charging it for atleast 10 to 15 mins then Press or hold the power button again to turn it on,
I'm Thinking It has to have a back up charge Before it fully turns on.
    Best Regards
    Solid Cruver

  • Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx K3011 Windows 8 Will not boot to usb/dvd

I have tried almost everything, over the course of the past few day's, to get this tablet to boot to usb/dvd drive. Secure boot has been disabled. Cannot access a boot menu on startup. When using windows 8 boot manager and selecting boot to usb cd or usb hdd, the system simply restarts. I have tried many bootable usb keys formatted in ntfs or fat32 with windows xp(32bit), windows 7(32), or windows 8(32). I have also tried booting to a DVD's on a external dvd drive with xp(32), 7(32), or 8(32bit) with no success. Both devices in all cases are recognized in the (UEFI)bios boot manager and I am able to reset the boot order. I have tried hitting the f2 or the f12 keys when booting on an external keyboard. I have tried hitting the power button and the volume up button on startup  but this does'nt work either. When I access the UEFI settings I do not have an option to enable legacy bios. The need I have is to boot to a Symantec Ghost usb key with Windows PE for imaging and deployment purposes, any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I created a bootable 32bit following this thread ME400C Wipe and Clean and make sure the USB has to be 32bit and EFI bootable UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows.
The plug in your USB keyboard, mouse, Windows Setup USB Drive, change the boot order, disable Windows Boot Manager and it should detect the Windows Setup USB Drive.
**I won't know how to use an external DVD if you don't have access to create this USB drive.

  • IdeaTab Lynx K3011 - Black screen/no display on touchscreen but do get picture through HDMI

Cant see anything on my tablet, however when I connect it to a monitor via an HDMI cable, I can see that its on. It registers touches as well, just doesnt show any picture. How would I go about fixing this? Cheers.

Hi Kendo 121. You should try factory reset on your unit by following this guide https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/idea_tab_k3011w_ug/data/EN/index.htmlRemember that it causes lost of all data stored on unit. If issue is not solved, you should contact Authorised Service. Sincerely,D.

  • IdeaTab Lynx K3011; annoyingly long beep?

I'm not sure if this is a 8.1 issue or not since I just got the tablet a day before 8.1 was released. I'm sure it's a security feature since it seems to happen when the vents are blocked or when I push the CPU. I don't know what's causing it since it comes with no warning message or anything but when it starts it's a loud, long beep that lasts 2-3 minutes and becomes annoying very quickly.
It seemed to happen after I installed 8.1, updated all the drivers, put in a faux leather case, and especially when I hold it on the sides (blocking the vents). Today it also happened while I was running a large resource program.
Is there any way to turn it off? Make it end quicker? Or any information?

    Rob,
I've not heard of this before and will need to look into it.   I think you are indicating that this seems to be a warning beep tied to an increase in system temps either driven by CPU loading or blocked air vents?
    Thanks

  • Lynx K3011 Windows 8.1 RTM Choppy

I have a Lynx K3011 that I am VERY happy with.  It gets more attention from people that see it than any device that I have ever had. I upgraded it to the Windows 8.1 Enterprise preview shortly after I received it and it has been running flawlessly. Video has been very smooth and responsive.
Since the RTM code for Windows 8.1 was released Monday on Technet I downloaded the 32bit  version and installed it today.  While the preview was smooth and responsive the RTM version was jerky and sluggish.  I reset everything back to factory and tried it again, to no avail.  Has anyone else tried this? There do not appear to be any later drivers for this CPU/chipset anywhere. For the moment I am back at the factory release 8.0 and trying to decide if I want to go back to the preview.  8.1 IS better on this tablet.
By the way. DO NOT INSTALL THE DRIVERS FOR THE TABLET THAT ARE ON THE WEB SITE FOR VIDEO, ETC. Your tablet will go into an endless boot loop.  You will have to boot to recovery to fix it.  Hard to do if you don't have the keyboard option (Hint - Use a USB keyboard, it works.)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The display driver in Windows 8 is the Intel driver, 9.14.3.1099 dated 10/24/2012.  Intestesting, at least to me, is that I ran the Enterprise Preview of 8.1 and it ran great.  I am not sure whether I loaded the drivers from the web site but performance was absolutety excellent so I expected no trouble in loading the 8.1 Pro RTM. I hate to step backwards, but I think that I will attempt to install the Enterprise Preview again and give it a couple of months.  I assume there will be a driver update coming.
One other side point.  I used an available key to try upgrading to 8 Pro so that when 8.1 is released it would offer me the Pro upgrade.  It accepts my key, but then fails miserably to update. My understanding is that 8 keys will work with 8.1 so I may just wait a while unless I see a solution earlier.

  • Lynx K3011 won't wake up from sleep

I have a Moko Slim Cover Case for my Lynx.  I noticed that often, after I close the case and the device goes to sleep and wait a while to use it, the tablet will not wake up from sleep.  I have to hold down the power button to shut it off and then release it and press the power button to turn it on again.
If I close the case and open it shortly after that, it wakes up just fine, but after being closed for some length of time, it will not wake up.  I think it has to do with the auto sleep function with closing of the case because if I don't close it and let it sit and it goes to sleep, it will wake up.
Does anyone else who uses this case have difficulty waking up the device after leaving it closed for a period of time?

I have the moko case and I have not experienced any problem directly related to the case.
Have you tested this with the case off to see if it behaves the same?

  • Mouse stops working, touchpad configuration lost after resync

    Hi folks,
Been having issues with mouse devices since the switch to SystemD.
My Logitech G400 mouse works on the GDM menu for a few seconds, then stops. Re-plugging the mouse does not bring it back, though it does still show under lsusb.
Maybe in a related issue, my touchpad has a bad connection cable, and this occasionally causes it to 'replug'. In the past, this would mean a brief interruption to input before it'd return to normal. Now, when it resyncs, it loses all it's multitouch and sensitivity settings.
    Dmesg shows this
    [   67.836360] psmouse serio4: TouchPad at isa0060/serio4/input0 lost sync at byte 1
    [   67.838414] psmouse serio4: TouchPad at isa0060/serio4/input0 lost sync at byte 1

    [   81.744968] input: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio4/input/input15
Maybe something to do with the different ID? It's been going on since the switch to Systemd. The mouse issue seems intermittent, maybe one in every three boots it works normally and stays working.

Just a quick update, this issue seems to have been related to laptop-mode-tools
    Removing laptop-mode-tools fixed the issue
Making changes to autosuspend settings in configurations for laptop-mode-tools didn't seem to have any effect.

  • 2nd time in less than 6 months backlight of Ideatab Lynx stopped working

Just like the subject says, I've only had this device for less than 6 months and the backlight on the unit has once again stopped functioning. I really can't recommend this product as it has been nothing but a hassle having to get it serviced for a second time already. Aside from not being able to use it for a few weeks while it gets serviced, I have to pay for shipping to send it to the service centre. Somebody from Lenovo needs to suggest a better solution for me as I can't rely on this unit any longer. In comparison, I've had a Blackberry Playbook that's been through way more than this Lynx tablet and it's been over 3 years without a problem and Lenovo is supposed to be the better brand? hmm...

Unfortunately, the same happened to me for a second time with my Lynx. The first time Lenovo only re-intalled the software. I don't know how this "repaired" the LCD screen, but less than 3 weeks later, it broke down again. They only offer 1 month time to return it, so I'm stuck with it. At lease the warranty covers this.

  • Lynx K3011 volume and Win8 Button no function in Windows 8

Hi, I just got my brand-new Lynx tablet and have installed all Windows 8 updates. Everything works fine, exept the "Volume" and "Win8 Home" Button are without function. Do I have to install additional drivers? In the device Manager everything looks fine. I dont think that it is a hardware issue.
    Thanks for your help!
    Patrick.

I recently found this information on the micorsoft troubleshooting website and thought of your post, not sure if you had found a solution but hopefully it is helpful.
My keyboard volume controls suddenly stopped working
If the volume controls on your keyboard stops working, check the Human Interface Device Access service on your computer to make sure it is set to Automatic.
In the Start menu, type View local services.
From the Search Results list, select View local services.
In the Services dialog box, locate Human Interface Device Access. Make sure the status is set to “Started.”  If it is not started, click Start the service.
Right-click Human Interface Device Access and select Properties.
On the General tab, in the Startup type, select Automatic, and then click OK.
Thank you for being a part of the Lenovo Family,
    Catie
