  • Stream 11 touchpad gestures not working in Windows 10.

I upgraded my Stream 11 to Windows 10 and now the gestures on the touchpad don't work. I can click on something and that works but scrolling and swiping does not.  I have updated the drivers. Do the drivers just not support this or is there something I can do to get gestures to work.

did you try going to control panel -  mouse and touchpad  and changing the settings, (I presume you did) I had a problem with the touchpad gestures also. The synaptics driver that came with windows 10 on my hp pavillion  would not save the settings I wanted. In my case I wanted rid of gestures.  But it wouldnt keep my preffered settings after restart. I got the old synaptics driver from  hp support and this works better for me. The only problem is that windows keeps updating the new driver. To solve this you must change device settings to not automaticaly download drivers. Heres what worked for me to stop the new driver from constantly updating: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_update/how-to-block-automatic-reinstall-of-a-driver-or/bff07224-4ce2-4b42-ab29-68c3a305d730?auth=1

Yes. I found the answer here:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/HP-Envy-x2-13-j020CA-Windows-10-Auto-Rotate-Autorotate-now/m-p/5212887#M115445I've tried replacing the driver on Sdo Sensor V2 device with the Simple Device Orientation Sensor and rotation works just like it did on 8.1.For the record - Sdo Sensor v2 reports the device orientation continiously, and Simple Device Orientation Sensor reports it only when the orientation changes. Must be a Windows bug then.

  • Elan touchpad not working in Windows 10

I have an Aspire ES1-711-P14W and have build 10240 of Windows 10 and the Elantech touchpad does not function in 10, This is not a hardware issue because it functions fine in Windows 8.1. I have tried the drivers from acer, looked in the bios for anthing mouse related. It does not show up in the device manager, when I unplug my Logitech mouse the "Mouse and Other Pointing Devices" tab dissapeares. It looks like Windows 10 is not even loading a generic driver. When I unplug my external mouse the cursor dissapeares as well.

I have a Aspire S7-392-9439 and I have the same problem after installing Windows 10. Type Mouse into the Start Menu and run the mouse control panel.  Go to ELAN Tab on Mouse Properties. The problems I see are that     1) the "Enable Device" is ghosted (whether or not any external devices are plugged in)     2) "Disable when external USB pointing device plug in" is checked, even after I uncheck it and Restart.  it sets this back to "checked" status no matter what. If I click on "Enable Device" it runs the driver software, however the two buttons don't work.  i.e. left button, right button.  You can move the pointer around just fine using the Touchpad as normal.  Also, multi-finger gestures don't work like two finger scrolling, etc.. Also when you click on Options to bring up the "Elan Smart Pad" options for the Touchpad.  You will notice that this button does nothing!!! I have noticed that after setting things up correctly and Restarting Windows 10, and logging in as normal, the touchpad will operate correctly for a few seconds.  I can move the pointer around and close Explorer windows that are open, for example.  However, as system tray icons continue to load in and other programs start up e.g. Sticky Notes and so on... the touchpad breaks down and you can't see any pointer or get anything done.  Something breaks it after it was working! The ELAN software is simply not finished off for Windows 10... it needs to be finished off ASAP as our computers are somewhat broken.

Thank you for your inquiry, I will do my best to assist you!
I grasp that your touchpad is not functioning correctly as you are unable to use the zoom.  You have the latest driver installed.
Have you ran  The HP Support Assistant to aid with HP updates and resolving issues?
Have you tried Using Automated Troubleshooting (Windows 8) to help overcome this difficulty.

  • Synaptics Touchpad not working properly

    Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me with this problem. I have my laptop since more than 2 years and never had a problem with the touchpad. Since yesterday it's all messed up.
Touchpad is enabled and if set on right-handed and buttons and tapping enabled (the standard setting) it reacts as follows: I can continue to move the pointer, scroll and use the right button. I am not able to do tapping anymore and the left button doesn't react.
If I set it on left-handed, tapping starts working again and the right button (now having the function of the left button) works. Still, the left button doesn't react. If I disable the buttons the touchpad itself works properly (scroll, tapping etc).
I have googled and I have tried the following solutions: deinstalling / installing a new Synaptic / Windows driver (downgrading as well), than there was a suggestion to take out your battery and disconnect the power cable - did that as well, have tried enabling/disabling the touchpad - no change after that. I never have a mouse connected but I have now, tried disconnecting, made no difference. The day the error occured I had a Firefox upgrade - downgraded it again, no change. I used pressured air to clean the touchpad + buttons... no change...
I don't think this is a hardware problem because the tapping function, although always enabled, would only work with buttons disabled or with left-hand setting.
I really hope someone has a solution for this, it's driving me crazy!
My laptop is a HP Pavillion DV7 with Windows Vista 32-bit.
    Many thanks in advance!
    Cheers,
    Steph

  • Touchpad not working archlinux_64 Bit KDE

    Hi,
I just installed xf86-input-synaptics. I want to use my external USB mouse, which functions properly and the touchpad. The problem is that the touchpad only works during Login process (login manager) but not on the Desktop (KDE). Xorg.0.log shows that Synaptics was loaded successfully. The touchpad is recognized as Synaptics PS/2 which is also correct. synclient gives a normal output (touchpad settings and values), so what's the problem?
    Greetings

Seems like something is overwriting the synaptiks setting so the touchpad gets disabled after KDE starts... or maybe X is disabling the touchpad and doesn't recognize the synaptiks settings..

  • Qosmio F60 - No additional touchpad and Fn function after Win 8 upgrade

I recently installed Windows 8 on my Qosmio F60 and now I have some issues, I think it might be driver related but not sure which drivers in particular.
    1. The touchpad still works for moving the pointer but swiping along the right edge doesn't scroll anymore, I have had a look on the drivers webpage but cant find which driver I need it install to make this work. Also does anyone know if there is a Windows 8 driver so that i can swipe the edge to bring up the charms and switch tabs?
    2. The FN keys no longer work so i can't control the brightness or the other functions along the top row of the keyboard.
If anyone can help with either of these issues that would be great.
    Thanks,
    Phillip

    Hi
As you can see there are no special Win 8 drivers fro the Qosmio F60 series.
    Its not Win 8 supported.
However, I think you should be able to use the Win 8 upgrade drivers released for Qosmio F750.
    Try it.

Hi, so i turned on my laptop today to find my touchpad not working, I did not change any of the settings. I am unable to enable the touchpad by tapping the cirlcle in the corner of the touchpad as it is broken. I tried to go to control panel-mouse-hardware and sound-mouse but there is no tab for device settings. After reading a couple of questions in the support forum I then downloaded the synaptic touchpad driver from hp support, but it could not be intalled correctly on my computer.  Can someone please help me with this issue.

  • How to enable multi-finger touchpad gestures on 2740p win7 64bit tablet.

I recently purchased an HP 2740p that works pretty well.  The issue I'm having is related to the multi-finger touchpad gestures.  I'm a huge fan of two-finger scrolling, and the manual for this tablet states that this pc has multi-finger scrolling.  The manual also describes/explains how to use this feature.  However, when I first got this tablet, the "multi-finger gesture" options were grayed out in the synaptic touchpad setttings window.  I then elected to install the latest synaptic touchpad driver in the hopes of enabling this feature, but this only allowed me to check the "MultiFinger Gestures" checkbox, and not actually use mutlFinger gestures.  Is this a known problem with this pc/synaptic driver combo.  If so, is there a fix?  Any help would be appreciated.
    E
    Build: HP 2740p, i5, 4GB DDR3, Win7 64bit, synaptic touhpad driver version 15.2.7.0 (12/22/2010).  Product #: 2CE0330DSH

If you find that it is greyed out, try right clicking the synaptics tray icon in the taskbar and if the option "disable gestures: is ticked, untick it and the options in the touchpad settings should be accessable.
    Hope this helps

  • Multi-Touch Touchpad only works with Apple apps?

Hi, I was wondering if the touch gesture on the touchpad only works with Apple apps. I can not get the 3 finger swipe to work on Firefox but it works on Safari. Do you guys know if there is a way to get around this problem?

I can not get the 3 finger swipe to work on Firefox but it works on Safari.
Another reasons to go with Safari as your main Browser. It has ever improving performance too. Firefox is a bit out of date imo now (The Mozilla Foundation is actually going through beta testing and development of an improved browser), so offers little apart from customization of its appearance, not a factor ahead of Safari either imo since it has a neat professional appearance.

  • Touchpad not working, left click acting like right

Hi - I apologize if this was already asked, but I couldn't find it. I have a G Series laptop (I'm at work so I don't have the specifics on me) and as of Friday night, out of nowhere, the touchpad stopped functioning properly. All clicks responded as if I had was right clicking. Needless to say, this was annoying. I tested all of my touchpad settings, uninstalled and reinstalled, tried new drivers, rolled back drivers, system restore, etc. and nothing worked. When I plug in a USB mouse, it still works perfectly, if that helps at all. But whenever I used the left click below the touchpad, it acts as a right click (however, the touchclick, or whatever it's called on the touchpad still works as a left click). I called and was given the advice you might expect...hard reset followed by a system recovery if that didn't work. The hard reset didn't work (big surprise), and I really don't want to lose my stuff; since I can still use the USB mouse, it's not the absolute end of the world. But I'm still irritated by it. It's a month away from the warranty being over, so I need to get moving on this. But I don't know how helpful HP is going to be with this (judging by their first bits of advice, not very). Any suggestions? This literally happened out of nowhere. I seem to remember this happening sometimes on my desktop, but that always managed to remedy itself by clicking some buttons, shutting down, etc. This time, that's not doing the trick. I'd appreciate any insight or help into this issue. Thanks very much!

Had the same problem, what I did works just as well but it's an adjustment. Go to touchpad settings (under 'Synaptics Touchpad v6.5')then click on buttons, manual for right mouse Instead of the normal right button setting, I switched it to button completely disabled.  Now your mousepad only recognises left clicking and if you want to use the right mouse button, you lick once with the touchpad on the item you want, then click the button on the right of 'alt gr' (on the left of 'ctrl')this has the same ability. Inias

  • Lenovo Ideapad S400 touchpad stoped working

My touchpad stoped working and need help

    Update!
This is by no means solved, but I do think it's >improved<.
I found a newer driver (v. 11.4.7.1). The mouse pointer still has some delay, but it isn't as unbearable as it was before. I do find that the left click "button" is not always reliable (the single tapping is more reliable). But it's better and corroborates my thought that this is mainly a software issue. I also disabled all the multi-finger functions.
The link for the new driver is here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032199

  • Hp Envy X2 issues with the touchpad gestures

I am experiencing some issues with the touchpad gestures after every time it wakes up. I am already update the drives posted in the hp web site, is anybody out there with the same issues?

I couldn't find any graphic drivers for that notebook, but here is an updated chipset that is available for your notebook: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-114872-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
It was released 6 days ago, so it might enable that option for you. It can't hurt to try it out. If not, you might just have to hold out a little bit until they update the driver.

  • Touchpad not working after suspend/resume on Asus R409LD

    Hello,
I have installed Arch on my Asus laptop and I had issues with the FocalTech touchpad being detected as a generic mouse. This problem is now fixed in the mainline kernel which I use (cf https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AS … #Touch_Pad).
However I still have a problem : when I suspend/resume my laptop, the touchpad ceases working.
Here is the output of xinput before suspending :

I tried deactivating and reactivating psmouse but it doesn't work.
Wierdly, the touchpad is still listed by xinput after resuming, but doesn't work. And when I disable/enable psmouse it disappears from the output.
