Touchpad left click button works as right click

Hello All,
I have this laptop for few yrs now, I have tried to find out a resolution to this issue without success for really long time. I think now I am getting out of patience and need some ones help with this.
Problem is touch pads left button would work as right click and bring up the context menu.
I have gone into Control Panel>Mouse and played around with the settings.
I saw a setting there where I had option to select [Right-handed] or [Left-handed] Whatever I do, it always remains as left handed and right click stays as if it is a left handed setting.
I have updated the drive. Currently installed
Driver Version : 17.0.19.0
Driver Date : 17/10/2013
Issue is this behavior is not consistent, randomly it decides to work as intended (left click would be left click and right click would popup context/properties menu) and other times it bombs miserable its extremely annoying to suffer this when I have to work on laptop for extended period of hours as it just keeps on happening. Can some one pls help?

A suggestion -
Do a hard reset first.
Power on laptop with AC power alone , removing battery.
Then try reloading BIOS to default settings
Save, exit, continue loading Windows.
Shut down.
Insert battery, power on with both plugged.
Check.

Email Security Plug-in - Doesn't seem to work with right click or save and send

I've searched the knowledge base but have not located the answer yet.
We have the Encrypt Message plug-in installed to flag the email [SEND SECURE]. This works very well when in Outlook. It does not seem to work when right clicking a file to send outside of Outlook or performing Save and Send from within Microsoft Office. The add-in still shows and users are clicking it and the Send button but the emails are not going securely. We are on Microsoft2010 on mostly XP machines.
How can I get Encrypt Message to work in all instances?

Is it possible to add a button to the right-click context menu for a user in Outlook 2010 using VBA?

I've tried many things and read up quite a bit but I cannot figure this out.
I cannot create an add-in so I have to use VBA.
I want to add a a button to the right-click context menu when I right-click on a user. Is this possible?

Yes, it is possible to customize the context menu in Outlook. See
Customizing Context Menus in Office 2010 for more information.
But VBA doesn't allow to customize the Fluent UI in Outlook, you need to develop an add-in instead.

Working with Right Click Events

I would like to configure the Event Structure to recognize not only mouse down but the differance between left mouse button down and right mouse button down. i.e. I'd like to be able to fire individual events for either left/right mouse buttons.
Does LabView 6.1 support this?

You don't have a separate event for left or right mouse button down but for the mouse down event, you do have the button element. The left button has a value of one and the right button is two. If you put a case structure inside the mouse down event, you should be able to do what you want.

It seems like the damage isn't too big and we should be able to fix it easily...
Simply reset your profile settings (delete and create new) by following the intructions in the [[Managing profiles|managing profiles]] support article and perhaps [[How to clear the cache|clear your cache]]. This should normally and hopefully set you up!

I can't left click to select or right click for menus. This works in IE, what do I need to do to get this to work in firefox?

I don't understand why this doesn't work. My OS is vista. The right click for menus stopped working several months ago, so I have been using IE when I need that. The left click to select stopped working 2 days ago. So now firefox is unusable unless I can figure out why it is doing this.

Firefox 4 Beta (v9,10&11) opens on my PC (Win 7) and creates tabs but only the close button works I cannot click on any tabs or content in the "active" tab?

It looks like Firefox has started ok, all the tabs are populated, but nothing can be accessed by clicking except the Close button and the right hand scroll bar... it is frustrating. Firefox 3 works fine still.

Create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

Open doesn't work in right click

From three days ago when i want to open more than 1 files
with "open" in right click,nothing will happen,but if i press enter
button all of selected files are open!
I tried it with PDF,word & excel files, and the result was
similar.It is necessary to say that for 1 file "open" is working but for
more than 1 file not.
The last software that i installed is: spy-bot and for 1 week after
that all things was nice but from 3 days ago i have this problem:-(
I am using Windows Server 2003r2, eset antivirus node 32 endpoint and have 6 GB of RAM.
How can I resolve this problem?

Hi,
Please try to boot your server into Safe Mode and see if same behavior still exists. I'm thinking if it is caused by third party app as it will work on one file but not multiple.
If issue is gone in Safe Mode, try to uninstall your recent installed apps including spy-bot. Uninstall one of them each time and reboot to see the result.
Also there is a third party tool named ShellExView which could help you find out all third party extensions. Try to disable them and see if issue is related.

How can I get the object (button) that I right clicked on?

If I have several buttons and the user right-clicks on one of them I would like to change the color of that button. With a left click I can use evt.getSource in the actionPerformed() method but I don't see how to do that in mouseClicked().

It happened after Mozilla Firefox's plugin crashed. Whenever I tried right clicking the refresh button or a page in History, it no longer prompted me to "open in a new page." Instead, the box showing the menu bar, navigation bar, etc. showed up. How do I change it back?

SUBMIT button works only when clicked twice... Online interactive form

Hi,
I have created a interactive form with SubmitToSAP button. In this I will enter a contract number and will click SUBMIT button.
For the first time it is fetching the contract details properly.
In the same form, i am changing the previously entered value with another contract number and clicking SUBMIT.
Now the details for the previously entered contract number is only displayed. Again if i try for the same value ( which i used for the second time ) and press submit, it is workin correctly.
So, the problem is, except for the very first time SUBMIT button action, the button works fine only when clicked twice..
please help me in solving this issue..

In addition to my previous post, I am also using RESET FORM button from Library.
First I am entering the contract number (say 400000000) in the form and clicking submit button. The contract details are fetched and displayed in the form.
Now i am Resetting the form using Reset Button, and giving new contract number (say 400000020). When I pressed Submit button , the details of the first entered contract number (400000000) is coming.
Then again I am giving 400000020 or any other number, it is fetching the details correctly for that number...
Can anyone help me in this issue..

Is there any way of removing the browser buttons from the right click menu?

Recently when I right-click on a web page, there are browser buttons (forward, backward, refresh, bookmarks) on the right-click menu for some inexplicable reason. I mean, its kind of absurd that anyone would put browser buttons there, considering the real browser buttons literally right there at the top of the window, and I guess that kinda bugs me.
Anyway, how did I get rid of them? There doesn't seem to be any way to do so in the customize window, and I've been looking for an add-on but don't really know what to search for. Does anyone know?
Where did those come from anyway? They weren't there a week ago, and I'm pretty sure these things don't normally just pop up out of nowhere. If nobody knows, its really not important. The important thing is getting rid of them. Thanks!

That was a new feature in Firefox 32, which was released back in September. Use this UserStyle to get rid of those buttons and restore the text menu items.
